rose! *hugs* Hello darling, how lovely to read you slept really really well in the hospital. Sounds like you need to go regularly.
lolll. and so i did. i forgot to mention that i had the loveliest dreams... all in shades of lilac, purple, mauve
am so glad, rose. You really deserved to find something that works.
and the OTHER thing which i forgot to mention was that when i woke this morning i didn't NEED to go potty. i just lay there feeling so comfortable. this means i slept deeply all night.
it is just awesome, rose. Am so happy for you :)

Hi all
good morning
Hi ruby. Hows you?
it's the coldest one, so far
It's quite cold here too.
I'm happy
It's much colder than last Dec
The dogs love it; they are built for cold with incredibly dense coats
I et. Mine don't like the cold so much. They are not built for it the boys do love to play in snow though. lol
and it's great for sleeping, getting up is the only problem lol
Years ago, when we first moved here I had a big male chow who, although he had never seen snow before, used to make tunnels
Bless him!
I've had è chows over the years, each one different, but they all liked the cold.
They'll be fi** as long as a furrier doesn't see them!
lion
sorry
lol
what kind of dog(s) do you have, Medusa
I have 2 Italian whippets and a stffie cross chi.
The Italian whippets are boys and the staffie is a girl. She is only 6 months old.
I've only known one whippet but he was sleek and grey and very sweet
The boys are so sweet. Had a bad start. They are more Italian greyhound than whippet.
Is the staffie similar to a pit? Probably very nice and smart, probably wraps the boys around her big paw
There must be a special place in Heaven for people who adopt dogs with checkered pasts
Staffie are a pit breed. Staffie is short for staffordshire bull terrier. She is so lovable it is unreal. She just wants to give everyone kisses all the time. Staffies are not big dogs. I think they are the smallest pit breed.
They are very lovable, full of energy and just want to be loved. They have such a bad wrap over here coz young people get them, don't know how to treat them then end up with a nasty dog.
I think they're outlawed in France but I've seen photos and really love the way pit breeds look, also mastiffs.
I'm not a fan of small dogs
I think so. I got my boys off gumtree, free to good home. I only wnted 1dog but when I heard his brother needed a home and he ws free too I could not say no. Would have forever worried where he had gone.
The only bad expeeiences I've had have been with golden retrievers
I never was a fan of small dogs but I would not be able to handle a big dog coz of my back. I love pit breeds too. Such affectionate dogs that get a bad name coz of the monsters who train them to fight and make them vicious.
And yet they use them as guide dogs!
I can't walk my dogs, either, but the garden is secure and a friend walks them
And the male is a wonderful guard dog who has really stepped up since my husband is in the "home"
They do make you feel safe don't they? I think Purl will be a great guard dog when she is fully grown. She goes nuts at the slightest sound outside.
Does anyone have stats for the 4th row e please?
chows, not noted by their intelligence, can distinguish between the cars of friends and those of strangers. This village is a prime target for thieves, but the boy, Ruffino, makes me feel secure
I don't have much yet, but will look
That is good. Staffie are known to be very intelligent dogs and so are chis so I got 1 clever little madam here. Italian greyhounds are very clever too.
Ok. Thanks. Just need one on there for nbt
en5/12
thaks
have you got a clue for that?
"Watch out for that nurse!"
Not getting that.
does that help?
colonic
Bloody laptop froze!
It don't help that Alfie insists on a hug right now. lol
the only thing good about the laptop is that I can sit by the fire
I don'thave a fire, just heaters. would love a fire though
the heated floor shorted out the énd year we were here and althoguh there are some radiators, they don't do much
second year*
I have a storage heater. Even worse
Still not getting the clues! Feeling dumb today. lol
did you get the clue? I have to jump in the tub while the housekeeper is here. Having seen Psycho, I'm afraid to bathe when I'm alone in the house
No problem hun
like am' but backwards and with an added vowel at the end

Not got am4. lol
TY for the lovely dog chat. See yoyu later
Got it1 lol

Morning
gm, everyone. tough grid so far.
Its a bugger
Yes!
very hard, just finished
Congrats!
I've 50 left but struggling with Es (and congrats indeed)
just felt there was no flow to the grid.
I have three still with O
Have you got the en6/7 combo (I assume it's a combo?)
en, think of teeth covering

whooo hoooo Bubba
Aaah - that's the 6 - is the 7 not related?
NM, found it :)

en + vowel + where you dig gold from
tyvm
did you all fine the Mi 6/21? They're everywhere!
Good morning
Hi sukee
ty, matty and hi Sukee
I'm not there yet - I find everything I can without a list, and then list when I need to. I have fairly just started listing :)
(Thinks Car has seen too much Despicable Me)
But I did get that word, yes ;)
Love Despicable Me...not so happy with all those "things" everywhere
They are cute...to a point.
whoops...PB for me.
I am so over them
got to go, hours of entering into my EHR
Yes, I am tired of them, even though I have a Tshirt with them stealing the Tardis.
Finally, the Es are history
Between those and the Frozen paraphernalia, the media is saturated. Dr. Who stuff runs a close third.
No!!!!!
HAGD bubba
Nope Star Wars has dwarfed them all.
We don't have enough Dr. Who in my neighborhood
I am a Who fan (both the show and the rock group, come to that)
There is a car ad (Dodge, I think) that plays the Imperial March. Well, that is my ringtone for my phone and it sends me into fits everytime it is on.
I so fear the new movie will be nearer the prequel in quality than the original...but maybe I'm just a cynic
Hey, me too matty.
Great minds, sukee!
I really doubt they would make that poor of a movie again for this franchise.
Oh, I believe they could (and to be fair, I don't think they set out to make poor movies for the prequels, it just worked out that way)
The original 3 were just so good and almost perfect.
But, I was younger then... :)
I don't even like watching the original IV and V with the updated quality and computer stuff. I like it the way it was.
I pretend that VI doesn't exist.
And the original is called Star Wars. Just Star Wars ;)
I only saw IV of the prequel, didn't bother with the others.
In comparison, I saw the first 3 movies at least 4 times each.
Is the go6/24 a word I'd likely be familiar with?
I don't have it yet
Its not a plural of the GO 5, I can tell you that much
Heh, yeah :)
Gah - the 9 is an IN...
I found it! Hurrah
I doubt you would use go6 in conversation, but it has been in grids before
OK, thanks. Still half looking (I have moved off on the basis that maybe if I stop looking for it it'll jump out at me)
Breakfast time, will be back
Does the me7 start with the same four letters as make up the me4 before it?
bACK TO GET SOME MORE.
Still after the 9 if someone could help please?
Do you have the te 7/28, Medusa? If so...it will be easy :)
I don't working on that too. lol
Don't let it stress you or make you taut, Medusa....
Thanks. Got that one now.
And the 9. Thanks matty
is there a clue for the en6/21 please?
np!
en6/21...covering on teeth
Thanks dc.

i cannot for the life of me find the po 6/21. help?
was kinda hoping I could plural that one for the 7 lol
Put a vowel on the end of the po5/12 Jay
Or did you mean the other one?
i have that one. i need the one before the 6/24s
Not got that yet. Sorry
i hate this grid
Not the easiest one
Good morning, everybody :)
Hi crossy
any clues for the po8's please?
Take your po5/12 before it and add a person (and people)
of the male persuasion
Thanks
ty, Matty
How about the 6/24?
Hi kids.
Hi scrab
po 6/24 ends the same as the po 8
Thanks luv
TY
Ah, I have the po6/24 - I don't have the po6/21, however, if anyone could guide me...?
still looking matty
add a vowel to the 5/12
It's the one before the 2 6/24's
Sorry, that one I have - it's the one before the po6/24s
both the po 6/24 and the po 8 can use a singular male and more than one male
don't have it yet matty, sorry
Hi - it's not the po6/24 I'm after - I have those. It's the PO6/21 before that ;)
We all seem to need that one
I'll have to look later, have to get ready to babysit my grandson BBL
Have fun.

We are having great warmth here. Haven't need heat in about a week
and I"ve sort of solved the dog feeding problem: now it's all meat and baby girl gets hand fed upstairs
It"s very cold here but with enough layers, I don't mind
they are too spoiled, like mine
She is so sweet and has the softest muzzle that feeding her is a pleasure
nobody else to spoil and I certainly have the time
mine definitely don't get hand fed.
Rufie is like a bottomless pit; he will eat absolutely anything, especially if I'm eating it: today it was brandade (codfish and potatoes, smushed up).
I have to keep all food up high and Polo will chomp on underwear, etc
Mine eat anything too. I am lucky that way. Pleased you found a way to get food in your girl ruby
I have lost quite a bit of underwear since I have had Purl bichon. lol
You have a fluff medusa?
Lots of. I have a black hairball cat and 3 dogs.
Raffie, who has a great sense of humor, will grab something (dirty clothes, slippers, etc.) and run like crazy out into the garden, laughing all the way
a Bichon?
No. 2 Italian whippets and a staffie cross chi
okay
<-- loves dog chat!
Same here ruby.
I don't know an Italian whippet. Are they the really small ones?
okay, not the Italian greyhound
they are like small, beautiful greyhounds, I think, but with better dispositions
Italian whippets are Italian greyhounds crossed with whippets. The Italian greyhounds are tiny. My boys are only 15 ins tts. What they lack in size they make up for in character I can tell you. lol
how much do they weigh?
Is there a clue for the to7 please?
I've seen the greyhounds and they seem quite delicate, sort of the opposite of a Bichon
Don't know how much they weigh but they are very light to pick up
The iggys are very delicate. Whippets are a bit tougher
Rufie weighs about 80 lbs, Raffie about 70 something
they are not delicate!
Bichons are very sturdily built. Belies their image
im 6/24, pls
Just waiting for money to be sorted then will be getting them to the vets for a check up. They need claws clipping and flea treatment
I know someone with a bichon. Very cute little things.
Not got that yet bichon. Willhelp you look though
I'd be afraid of stepping on a small dog. When I step on mine, they just laugh....
I do the flea treatment myself, it just goes on their back and lasts a month. Considering how warm it's been here, I'm worrying
It's worse when they step on (or sit on) me
I do too but need to get some more.
lol
I remember when I was a kid we had an old english sheepdog. He was lovely. Only thing was he liked to warm your feet for you!
I think I must sound like a crazy when I talk about my pups
my girl tries to give me baths
Me too. People think I am talking about my children most of the time. lol
I carry pix of the dogs, not my son
i get constant snogs here! If its not 1 its another.
I have a pic on my phone i show everyone.
The girl stays outside most of the time but the boy likes to know where I am and makes sure I'm safe, especially with Burt go
gone*
Mine are all known as velcro dogs. That is the 4 breeds in them!
I just got a call; my new oncologist can't find my last MRI. She is my 3rd one since July

No, Aloy :( Not home most of the day. Crazy weather here but I'm loving it!
crazy warm or crazy cold?
crazy warm!! Not one flake so far. I have a fan on in my office.
breaking temp records left and right
oh, wow
I saw on the news last night that the cherry blossoms were in bloom in Washington.
where do you live Judy?
Pennsylvania
had the windows open last night
Oh ok I heard on the news that it's been unusually warm in the northeast
where are you therealblah?
I'm in Dallas and it's been above average temps (for December) here too...my rose bushes are still in full bloom
well, I remember eating out on the deck one December day in NE Ohio, but shortly thereafter we were slammed with winter storms..
Aloy, are you in Florida now?
yes, it is hot and humid here
uh oh Aloy. I do know the worst is yet to come.
I'm waiting for my daffodils to come up!
Aloy that can happen here in TX too...we get some epic ice storms (with no equipment to deal with it, lol)
maybe you will have a mild winter - do you enjoy the snow?
Hate it!
ooh, have been seeing the wild weather for Dallas on the news
Maybe I'll enjoy it down the road when I'm retired
I was in Sanibel last week...nice weather 1/2 the week, crappy the other 1/2, but had lots of fun
LOVE SANIBEL! (jealous)
I hate snow, ice, cold...will take the summer heat over that any day!
lol yes I love Sanibel as well, have vacationed there several times
Sanibel is not too far from here.. Ding Darling Preserve. I bought a "Gopher Tortoise Crossing" sign in their gift shop
Absolutely loved it there. Would go back in a minute. Made it there twice.
Guess I'll just have to come visit you, Aloy!
for sure.. we could watch Black Belly Whistling Ducks.. lots and lots of them here
We went to Ding Darling last week! We saw two huge alligators (prob. 8-9 feet) lazing on the bank. And probably got way too close, lol
wow--I think that's a lifebird for me
yesterday I heard on a weather report we will have no snow for xmas here in nc
Don't think we will either, Fan. Supposed to be record breaking at Christmas too.

♪♫Fahoo fores, dahoo dores Welcome Christmas, come this way♫♪
Oh, you meant the weird, geeky, science fiction Who stuff
te7?
nm, got it
One second magic strikes again
Just in from Christmas Party #1. A splendid time was had by all.i fear very few words will be found tonight... Hic
interesting icon, Soodle
What began as a civilised lunch quicky degenerated into a session. Sigh. And Hi Bjojazz .... Wouldn't Christmas Dinner be so easy if we bought Christmas Tinners?
It looks as though it might be interestingly tasty ... yes?
it looks like dog-food!!! Lol
lol - you're right
i'm going with the traditional fare of turkey & ham. Plus trimmings. Turkey & ham
sorry. Turkey & ham ordered & paid for. Everything else will take care of itself!
don't forget the turkey & ham...
We do roast beef for dinner. It is the one time of year that I splurge on a beef tenderloin.
Oops, roast beef for Christmas dinner. We are all turkeyed out after Thanksgiving.
Well you guys did the whole turkey thing less than a month ago.... My preference would be a nice roast beef dinner over turkey, but to say thT out loud here would be a hanging offence
love turkey tho and we only do it 2x a year in general
probably love the sides more, lol
I try to spread the big hunks of meat out over the holidays. Turkey for Thanksgiving, Roast Beef for Christmas and Ham for Easter. Turkey and Ham at one dinner would be overkill for my clan.
I would very much like a nice quiet Christmas here at home with my kids. However, my Mom is joining us again & she can inject an air of gloon into the happiest of situations. She is a derply unhappy old lady & she likes to share her dissatisfaction. :-(
This year it's just my beloved and me, so we're doing 'snack day'. ..... Soodle, your mom sounds like my MIL, and beloved and I are both grateful she lives in a kingdom far, far away.
Molly, do you do anything for New Year's Day/Eve dinner?
Soodle, my mom was like that as well.
My mother was not deeply unhappy, but she did seem to need to be the center of attention. I don't miss that at holiday time. We do pork tenderloin and black-eyed peas for New Years.
It led to much over-imbibing in order to cope
yum
What is it with the "my beloved" thing here? Does anyone refer to their spouse or partner in that way?
And DH never ceases to make me laugh as I used to think it stood for dickhead.
in my case only sarcastically, or when I'm pissed at him lol
My MIL actually opened a gift one time, said "Oh I have these at home, I don't need more" in a irritated tone of voice, and then TOSSED IT back across the table at me. .... Molly, I'm not sure how to respond to your comment.
Oh, just wondering about terminology. "My beloved" sounds like something you would read in a poem written in the 1800's.
I think it's just a nice synonym for spouse, SO or whatever
help with to7 pls
man's name + consonant + charged particle
thanks, thereal! I needed that too.
ty blah, new word for me
and done
yvw
Hurrah for peri!

Good evening, everybody:)
Hello crosshair! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
hi, everyone
Hi welki! How are you doing today? Welcome to the chog.
how're you doing, min? been a while
I am doing well Welki, but I am totally shaking my head at my husbands response to the GOP debate on TV. I do not get his train of thoughts, but he does not get mi4 either.
I can't bear to watch political debates - I'm depressed enough as it is
Does anyone have clues for an li8/45 word, probably fishy
I watched the first 2, Then decided not to waste my time
I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do come election day.
It's all so discouraging
li is what you rub on something that is sore to make it feel better
ty nancy - my first 8
Harry, I won't vote unless I feel like there is someone worth voting for. It's been a long time since I have voted.
welcome
I don't know what's worse for me, listening to debates or listening to my husbands response's to the debates.Either one is like listening to nails on a chalkboard.
I'm kind of hoping against hope that mike bloomberg jumps in as a third part ycandidate at the 11th hour
I'd vote for him.
min, did you get the li 8 that I clued
No. I saw that clue before and I did not get. Sorry Nancy.
i always vote, even by absentee ballot
min, ends like oint----
Me too welki. I feel it is my duty to vote and if you don't vote, then don't complain about who is in office.
in more pleasant news, I just got nbt!
I found the li8/45 word finally! Thank you so much Nancy
I feel like it is my right to vote, not my duty, and I only have to vote if I believe in one of the candidates running for election.
I hear you Molly - I usually vote for national elections. I'm so out of touch with local politics here that I haven't been voting.
Yes,misuse of words Molly. It is a right & privilege to vote
Honestly,I am not well informed when it come to politics
And I don't think you get to complain if you vote for a candidate that you really don't believe in.
L's Locked! 4 left
don't think I'll be finishing this grid - started too late and it seems tough.
Harry, as busy as you are, I am amazed you even get around to these grids.
everybody needs a hobby :)
Yes,very tough grid. I started late too, but determined to finish. Still have not done any lesson plans for school yet.
I haven't done a proper lesson plan in more than 10 years.
a few words scribbled on my planner is my lesson plan
I don't recommend that anyone spend a lot of time on this grid. I think it is one of the most annoying grids in a long time.
I am not that busy, but somehow I still find it hard to find time to Babble during the week. I usually have priorities straight: work first and then babble. Not so true tonight.
I would really like to get halfway though - 10 more words
Can I have a clue please for the last 1m 6/21 word MollyL
*last am 6/21
I found the am 6/21 word, however, it can't be pluralled.
Does anybody have a clue for that last am 7/32 word yet?
I don't have an am7
halfway!
think about the am****ic sac, where an infant develops in utero

Thank you welki! I found the am7/32 word. 2 more words
I've had enough. good night!
Does anybody have a clue for that last eo 6/21 word yet?
Goodbye HarryHood! I will see you next time in the chog.

amn----^bcdhkqruvwxyz
mea culpa, sorry
I have that word, thank you welki. I need the 1st eo 6/21
Hello Bugsaw! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid

eminen

Quack! Quack!
I am finished! I have fireworks! em 7/32 was my final one
well done Min
Thank you welki and all other cluers. I will be here for a little bit to help out with clues if anyone needs clues still
g'night, all
Goodbye welki! Nice to see you here. Have a good night!
Good evening. I've found this grid to be very frustrating & I give up already. :-(
*sneaks in and hugs nef gently*
how are you doing today?
"hi stid. as usual, i found several short words after i wrote that
:-)
I am only down to 90. Won't finish, but it was fun to play for a bit.
Doing okay. Each day is better than the one before;
Ha. I've only found about 50 words so far; haven't even gotten to 100 left
;-) at least you are not trying to keep 24 third graders "grounded" this week! --not that I would trade with you...
go Nef go!
I was wondering how it was going this month. My grandson is counting down until school is out and then Christmas
They are doing their best. I get better at managing the energy and picking manageable goals for this two-month period every year, but I am not sure I will ever be fully prepared for the level of strangeness.
Igot the funniest phone call from him today: "Geema; I got my shot & I didn't scream. They told me it wouldn't hurt all day; so they gave me my shot; I got my bandage; & I was out of there! Just what I wanted. Good BYE!"
:-D What a great phone call
I was so proud of him but he hung up before I could tell him
I love kids. Today I just about burst with pride when my students were ALL appropriately sharing ideas and working together on something. I am getting to be a "good enough" teacher and there is at least one point every day now (even on days when they are really out of it!) when that happens. It keeps me going.
LOL! Do you remember when yousaid a few years ago that you weren't sure about teaching the younger kids? :-)
um, yeah...
(I'm SO proud of you & how you're doing?
Sorry, should have been an exclamation point at the end, not a ?
thanks!
:-D
And the house is really not so bad now -- we have a semi-permanent houseguest, so I have boxes in the living room again, but it's not as bad as it was even a few months ago, organization-wise. So... if you are ever out thisaway, you know there's a place for you!
Someday I will get there, stid. not sure when but I want to meet you IRL
a semi-permanent house guest?
A friend who needs a place for a while, no end-date, but not intended to be permanent.
But it sounds like you have the room for them; and so far it's working out?
yes, for the two days she has been here. I love having the space that we can do this. I can't help everyone, but I can help one person at a time. And I am fortunate to have a partner who is kind enough too.
That's lovely! Having the space to help someone is nice too
We will meet, Nef. I am certain of it.
Me too stid
I have that lovely book of medicinal plants you sent me -- it makes me smile every time I open in.
okay. My ONE goal in the grid today is to have NBT. Is that so much to ask? APPARENTLY SO.
LOL! I'm glad you like it. We have so many books; (& so many I haven't been able to read yet)
*grumble* the E in the second column, second row up?
Are you stuck on that 2nd column , 4th row E Like I am?
yep. YEP. *sigh*
same here. :-(
would love to have second letter and/or count *scans lurker list in chog for possible help*
en6, 21 hard stuff on pots
*facepalm* thanks bug
bugS
hugs to you both
Hi Bugs! Thank you so much!
how's our lovely big island today, bugs? It was cold/clammy all day today in the town I teach in, below freezing when I went to school -- well above when I left, but honestly it FELT so much colder.
it is cold here too and I am tired of storms. We all run outside and spin on the lawn whenever it dries up.
LOL sounds familiar
oooh. I found an 8!
it's been cooler (mid 30's here) and misty all day & they kept saying we'd get some snow; but none here yet
and another one
Go, GO stid!!
I am okay when there is no snow... unless it's a WHOLE LOT of snow that ties things up for a day or two and then melts in a chinook
I LOVE, adore, appreciate and live for winter chinooks!
I didn't know you got chinooks where you are stid. I loved them too when I lived in Alberta
but it's the week before Christmas and this is Minnesota & *we* should have snow!
a chinook, Nef, is a very warm wind that comes across in the winter... they are lovely
true, you frozen northerners need the crunchy white stuff!
Well; we don't have those here.
we don't get them very often, bugs; maybe that's why I love them so!
I'd be happy with 4 - 6 inches of snow; it doesn't have to be a lot but it should look like Christmas
en 7/32 --- ends with area where ore is extracted.
thanks! I never considered that as a combo before!
I don't mind a dusting, Nef -- as long as I don't have to drive in it. Too many idiots around here with 4x4s
Thanks Byzantine!
Same here, stid; & they think that because they have a 4X$ they can drive too fast for the weather
4X4
Our area is thinking of having changeable speed signs on the highways that will post lower speeds when the conditions are bad. I think it is a good idea
That is a good idea. How will they post the signs for it though? (That would be the expensive part)
WOOT! Just 100 words left!)
I would guess electronicaly from an office somewhere. I just heard about it on the news so who knows when it will be implemented
go Nef
But that seems to be it. Bed time for me I guess. there aren't any more words visible now
there are some changeable lanes in the Seattle area, they really make things safer - smoother - and really faster when traffic is heavy because slowing down in heavy traffic means fewer accidents
sweet dreams Nef. I stalled at 66
et 6/18 -- vowels bookmarking a synonym of moil
Sweet dreams to both of you Bugs & stid. sleep well & have great days tomorrow!
<poof>
thanks again Byzantine -- French "star"
I am out of here, too. It's time to sleep now!
