Oh, that is so tough. Sure is a void that cannot be filled. I know you miss her every day. One of my hubby's friends has been battling that for the last 4 or 5 years.
they have a good arsenal against the disease.. but it didn't work for her. It usually does .. but not in this case
They have come a long way with treatment, which probably makes it even tougher losing her.

no I didn't, and I don't have many. We don't do presents at Christmas, since we have Sinterklaas on Dec 5. Today it is just me and my beloved and a simple meal. I might have to go and pick up a friend who is not feeling well enough to use public transportation, and give her a ride home. Tomorrow, we will have a lazy Xmas day... our traditional movies, some crocheting, another simple meal.

in my work, i meet many indigent and homeless people - at the top of my list every fall is to gather up as many coats, mittens, hats and socks as i can for the shelters

Did that when I had a flat with a balcony. Was on the 5th floor so was totally private. Lovely for beers. lol

Historical fiction is my favorite--The Dante Club by Matt Pearl, The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Satterfield, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafron, The Kitchen House, .....
