F is for Frank
Excellent. Ty
Cute.
Is there some meaning for that?
Yes, it is in honor of uusue's Frank
I mention Frank in my prayers every night. Is he at the end of the journey? I feel so bad. He went thru so much.
ac-----
I was just saying a prayer for Sue and Frank too, Annie.
Yes. They are hoping to get him home today, I believe.

Hello maties
Hi Scrabbs
be back later
Hi Scrabbs
in 8 plz
nv found it
scrabbs, your bunnies fav food is in the grid today
Hah, their favorite food is banana, but their primary food is hay.
ok....the food your baby was eating with your nephew....
I had 2 bunnies many years ago - primary food was hay. Never thought of giving them bananas. Did give them some veggies and they loved daisies.
ca6's are high in sugar so they are allowed just one baby one weekly
BBS
bye scrabbs - I need to get to work too!
Tuesday greetings, Babblonians.
hey judi
Hi Judi and Hurshy
hi scrabbs
I have to limit them as I am a diabetic
Ca6's, Bichon?
ivesey, share the in 8, pls
ga6, ga6! take these ca6s away, i am a diabetic!
Haha
Eating a banana is like eating a Snickers bar!
*hurshy looks at her last bite of banana*
I take Metformin, so as long as I don't eat too many fruits, carrots, etc. I'm okay
Fortunately, I'm not a banana fan.
share the in 8, pls
i can't liiiiiiiiiive, if livin is without bananas...
What book is everyone reading these days?
"he who hesitates is lost" is a proverb warning against in8
I love bananas--not very ripe though.
Uhg. Shame on me. I haven't read a book in about a month.
Girl in the Spider's nest
Emma
Is it good? Close to Larson's style, Bichon?
apostrophes for dummies
The Round House by Louise Erdrich
Unbroken
I read Unbroken, excellent book
Haha, Byz! Have you read Eats Shoots and Leaves?
Saw "Unbroken" the movie. That was good as well.
the resourcefulness... i am just floored
I am reading The Fatal Flame by Lyndsay Faye.
We are going to Iceland Fri. so we are going to read Icelandic books
How exciting, Bichon!
have a great trip, bichon
lol\
see you all later
Northern lights, we hope
just got halfway though the elvis costello memoir and quit.
Bye Annie.
have a great trip,bich.
bichon did you see my 8:36 clue for you
Do you read biographies a lot, Owl?
Elvin C. doesn't seem like such a compelling character, TO. Can't blame you.
Elvis C. rather.
We saw the movie Revernent
well, i guess he is, but very wordy. so you get so much detail, it is hard to slog through. librarian says it is a love it or hate it book.
How was that, Bich?
hello all
Excellent.
looking forward to the coen brothers movie this friday
I don't think I have read a biography or autobiography since about 4th grade.
Hi MLFAN
Hiya, MLF!
hi scrab
hi judi
i like bios. i like all genres.
love nonfiction
owl is that the one with scarlet johanson and George clooney
?
yes
jon kabat-zinn mindfulness
I would love to see that movie
I went to the August meeting of our neighborhood book club, when decisions were being made for monthly selections for the year. It was the first time I attended and I decided to try it out. As an introvert I was unsure.
Great book, Byz.
It's playing now in theaters near you fan
So, when a neighbor suggested Fifty Shades of Grey I knew it was the wrong book club for me.
i am sure it is bichon
well, they do tend to read the best seller list.
I agree scrabs, real trash
Byz, have you read Michael Singer's "The Untethered Soul?" It was one of the most important books that I have have read and re-read.
sounds like the wrong book club for anyone. i mean even supposing you want to read that book - you want to DISCUSS it with your neighbors?!?
true bichon
so, did they accept and read it?
thanks, Scrabbler
After listening to the suggestions I really started to wonder about some of my neighbors. Some women suggested some really lightweight books. Others did suggest some truly well-written books. There is a difference between a bestseller and a well-written book.
share the in 8, pls
I never attended another book club meeting after that one as I realized that for most of the women the purpose of the book club was to drink wine and socialize.
1nd column e?
so, what book did they settle on?
Byz, I hope that book can help you as it did for me.
2 oops
Owl, there were monthly choices, and then 2 "extra" meetings, one of which was for "Fifty Shades of Grey" for those that wanted to discuss that book.
scrab that is what usually happens at those books clubs
2nd column e?
scrabs, I am in a tiny book club of 7 university and museum people, and we read childrens books we read as children and see what we think of them now. Our meals are great and the talk is great. We're tackling fairy tales, traditional and by one person ie hans Xn A now.
Every time I see the woman that suggested "50" I just cringe and wonder why she thinks that is great literature.
in+ac6/21
perhaps you should look up a classics book club.
hi round
Xna?
ty for the in8
ty grant
hi all--I lurk, listen to chat, then get to work. I have to finish Vol 4 before it finishes me
yw
hey mom
grant do you have the e on the 2nd column?
hi rasta
hi, rasta--what's up with you this morning? pregnant goats?
we won't know for awhile
time to go.
we closed on the house next door, so I'll get busy painting now for awhile
did you see little Trevor on his birthday?
Awww. Are we gonna be aunties and uncles to baby goats? Love baby goats.
d
Hi RB! And Rasta! Good to see you folks here.
BBS, must see a screaming 2 yr old now.
rasta my daughter has goats and chickens--all need urging to get going again
2nd column e?
we talked, yes. Baby goats, probably. Buck's been to visit, we trust everyone is expecting now,,,
hi all, lurking and going through the grid for the first time.. have chat open and am taking notes.. "50 Shades" was really NOT a well-written book.. only redeeming value was perhaps a look into the minds of a strange relationship
srab, did you read about my fun book club? we've read some modern children's books too, and some clasivcs about hildren like A High Winfd in Jamaica
didn't read it but i had gotten the suggestion from my mother once
the question in that book is who is innocent? The pirates hanged for the crime, but the children did it.
work time, signing off. Bye, Rasta and everybody.
bye, RB
bye
2nd column e stats please?
p.s. tintin is in the grid. I just published a poem about bianca castafiore.
new bianca figurine available - I've been deleting the email, but I could get it for your bd if you's like
et 4/4
ty gemini
the groundhog did not see his shadow
was it foggy?
probably so
so now we know spring will come early
4th column i?
i thught that meant winter would be longer?
Beauty, the splendour of truth, is a gracious presence when the imagination contemplates intensely the truth of its own being or the visible world, and the spirit which proceeds out of truth and beauty is the holy spirit of joy. These are realities and these alone give and sustain life. James Augustine Aloysius Joyce

Eva is making sure everyone knows well in advance : D
exactly. you guys need time to bake the cake, decorate the cabana, fill the jacuzzi with champers, and plan the party!
my birthday is a few months away
no 4th column I here
i did find an 8 myself
sue i as in igloo
congrats sue
ty
yes 'i' as in igloo
Notes that Eva did not mention presents.
i saw that too molly lol
eh, ive reached the age where i dont expect many gifts. im just pleased/surprised when folks actually make the time to visit these days. :/
and apparently eva doesn't want a decxorated cake either lol
(dripping with sarcasm) Nothing says YOU'RE SPECIAL like a birthday text
molly do you have it?
or a FB post from someone who cant even be bothered to text or see you EVER.
<--doesn't get texts
eva oh that happens
The bottom "i" ends in ....and rave

sorry
No

No
i found the tr8 too sue
lol
i would have thought at least the first 4 letters would be the same
Think of an Italian style eating establishment and end it with a different vowel
got it, ty
trpizzajointi
damn it
it also made me hungry
that works ruru lol
great. now i want spaghetti + meatballs!
eva my husband's favorite meal
<--just ate
<---had lasagna on monday
clue the co please
i dont eat it very often, but i could go for some right now!
sue clue please?
made that last night eva
Oh, I see you caved in and had pasta, diet boy
I did
i googled Italian style eating establishment
everything else had friggin nuts in it
With all the nut allergies I am beyond surprised at how many dishes with nuts are being served in restaurants
i actually have lasagna on my meal plan...its coming up later this month...
what eating plan eva?
they had nuts in almost every course except the fish course (which didn't interest me)
i even know that word and couldn't think of it
nbt and nbs
Weight Watchers lasagna does not qualify as "real lasagna"
my husband can't have nuts either
me too mlf
I've seen a lot of "nut encrusted" fish on menus
i try to plan our meals for the month so we arent scraping for ideas...
nice
i used to be REALLY good at it + plan a few months at a time, complete with grocery lists + weight watchers points... these days, im lucky if i can plan a weeks worth at a time.
what if you decide you don't want that particular food one day of the week?
nbt and nbs
that's called the ben and jerry's day MLF
*Imagines that Eva's books are all in alphabetical order and organized by genre
some of them are small + flexible, so i can move them around. others are larger + we just stick to them.
ruru or in my case Talenti but i will take Ben and Jerry's
i try to space things out in such a way so that we arent eating the same type of meat or flavor profile too many times in a short period...
(eva's spice cabinet is all in alphabetical order too) with all the labels facing out
are you getting that from a list or just made it yourself?
and the "larger" meals are saved for weekends, when we have more time to cook...
i wish my husband would learn that eva
i just make it up myself. some of the "recipes" come from books or pinterest or other places...but i just slap it together myself...
ruru that is a good idea you wouldn't want to put the wrong spice on the wrong piece of meat lol
ru you mean everyone's spice cabinet isn't that way?
hi blah
hi
oh.. I show my ex (proudly) my mixed up spice cabinet just to make her crazy
heh, i USED TO have a nicely organized spice rack. then the hubby took over some of the cooking. he likes things where he can see them, so they got put in like 4 different places. now i cant find ANYTHING. :(
clue for the co9 please?
co9 is a female vocal range
my husband has to pull things out of the cabinet the spices are in but i think he pretty much knows. I usually go by what color the packaging is
I would go slightly mental if I had a spice alphabetizer living in my house.
i dont have OCD. i have CDO -- it's similar to OCD< but all the letters are in order AS THEY SHOULD BE!!
thanks flosey
yw ru
lol eva
I was classified a dumbshit for putting the mustard back in the fridge with label not facing out :D
Thinks Eva and Melvin Udall would get along great
Oh see Ru, if someone said that to me I would go to the fridge and turn everything label facing in
that's passive aggressive Molly..:D
There are medications for disorders like that
its funny...i dont really think of myself as OCD -- my desk, house, bedroom are a COMPLETE MESS. but there are certain things that i do just prefer to have a certain way...it just helps me by making things easier...
but i dont flip out if they arent that way...
actually the grid has two female voice types
yes mlf
what's the second one?
al4
eva myhusand just started to be anal about things drives me nuts
ruru 2nd what?
oh
had that one .. was thinking another big c word
we had all of our spices in the corner cabinet, which has a lazy susan. its right next to the stove, so i would make sure the labels were facing out -- that way, you just spun it around to find the spice you were looking for...easy peasy! (they werent alphabetized, but i WOULD group spices together that i was likely to USE together).
apparently it was TOO MUCH for him to open the cabinet + spin. he wanted them out where he could see them.
(knew it)
eva that is awesome
so for a while, they just lived on the counter. which drives me NUTS.
eva oh geez
so then a bunch of them went to live in the cabinet above the microwave. but of course, you can only see one row -- and im really too short to see many of them at all.
my husband has done things in the past year that effect what the cat does/goes
so then a bunch of them went to live in a random tupperware container that now travels around the kitchen because its ALWAYS IN THE WAY.
eva what is up with that?
so now? we have some in the corner cabinet, some on the counter, some in the cabinet above the microwave, and some in the magical traveling container.
<---is happy he's single right now
THAT drives me nuts. just pick a place! one SINGLE place!
I have a drawer insert that sets the spice jars on a slant
i can adapt, really. but just PICK ONE!!
<---Me too :-)
eva lol
i agree picking one would be good
Isn't this the husband who used to only eat meat and potatoes? Or did you switch up?
hi zooz
heh, hes still a very picky eater, but im working on him. ;)
Hello, Mlf
Hello again
we have the same crap over and over
he likes thai food now, so thats exciting. and he actually recommended chinese takeout the other night.
and, as im putting this meal plan together, he volunteered to have soup once in a while!!
*Gasp* He volunteered to have soup?
this is like HUGE NEWS in our house.
my husband hates thai food but he eats everything else as far as i know
Eva...omg...I have the same spice "dilemma" at my house!
"As my world Tureens"
:)
molly i think its because its quick and simple
hi car
Hi
your birthday, evaN?
glad to know its not just me, car!
TO, the big day is next week. im giving everyone time to plan. ;)
they are everywhere
eva why don't you have anything planned yourself?
and then he crabs that the counters are messy
ML/Molly, i just like a nice soup + salad or soup + sandwich once in a while. he doesnt think soup is real food...he will do STEW, but not soup. so i promised i will make sure he has nice, crusty break with any soup i make. :)
hahaha i thought not today
etching on tombstone: "Here lies Car.eeyore the spices just got to be too much"
my husband is a cleaning freak in the kitchen
seems about right...
car -- YESSSSSS!!!! my hubby keeps saying "we really need to clear off our counters so NOTHING is on them" -- but then says he wants everything where he can SEE it.
Mine next week too, EvaNadine :-)
eva tomato soup and grilled cheese:D
i got little tiered racks to store the spices, makes them easier to see
which day, zooz?
lol ruru
Well 11th
ML -- one of my favorites!! alas, hubby doesnt do grilled cheese either. its like he hates FREEDOM!
eva just put pieces of bread in the soup i do that too
I make grilled cheese all the time with soup
ty TO! You reminded me that I have some of those!!!! Will dig them out tonight
mine eats everything but balks at meals without meat.
well, you're welcome!
oh dear...I can hear one of the little preschoolers crying downstairs :(
sounds like my dad owl
I think I need to list
but i want a real spice rack. when the kitchen is redone, i will have one built in.
TO -- i proposed "meatless mondays" once, and i thought he was going to cry.
zooz -- mine is the 9th! TUESDAY!!
is oc6 a pl?
Early Birthday Party in the Cabana!!! Drinks all around
Cool! I hope you have a really wonderful day, EvaNadine!
methinks we need a combo party!
Not really...add cross consonant on the end of the OC 5
hahahaha there are many good meals that are meatless. i think i might be able to serves iti or ravioli and, after the "no meatballs?" setlle in for dinner
No, Mlf
OC 5/12 that is
ty zooz
wow that volcano was hidden
not to the oc5 i have it doesn't work but ty
owl pasta could be meatless
Ooops! Didn't realize there was more than 1 ... keep along the same root letters though
have any of you here in the US who make pasta, tried Manwich on it instead of an actual meat sauce?
no problem car
manwich?
manwhich . did i spell it right that time?
A sandwich just for men LOL
Ok..heading to the copier. Have a great day all
what is that?
ive never put sloppy joe on pasta, but i do put it on salad -- i actually have that for lunch today!
no, but a frozen food maker once made chili mac and i will recreate that, using chili baked with elbow mac
bye car
(I cannot comment on that.. I cannot comment on that.. )
this is a confounding grid
<--myicon
eva what type of salad do you put it on?
i usually make my own sloppy joe sauce, but this time i got lazy + bought a can of manwich. ;)
any type, really, ML. this time, i just bought a bag of iceberg lettuce that has a few veggies in it.
Wow.. I have never heard of the manwich before
eva yumm we have it quite often one of your favorite things to eat
<-----love iceburg lettuce
i love all the stuff we had as kids...i put it in my meal plan fairly regularly. ;) (but i balance it out with "healthy" food...)
how often do you have peanut butter and jelly eva? we have hot dogs and mac n cheese a lot as well
it isn't nutritious
i dont usually PLAN pb&j, but we have it as a "snack" regularly enough. ;)
Manwich: Contains seasoned tomato sauce that is added to cooked ground beef in a skillet.
we have mac-n-cheese (usually as a side dish, but i could eat the whole pot!) and sometimes we have hot dogs, but usually we "adultify" it by doing brats instead...
we eat brats quite often
we do the kraft mac n cheese:)
Brats here means nasty children lol
we do the kraft since the hubby prefers it (but i prefer velveeta!)
(Julia Child just turned over in her grave)
a fine cuisine chef, i am not!
eva is their really a difference though i like the kraft too:)
oh my. the venveeta is SO MUCH creamier!
but the flavor of the kraft has been improved
not enough for me. ;)
NO6?
isn't it made with real cheese now?
I use extra old cheddar for mac & cheese
Pictures zooz eating nasty....
IDK. the kraft we buy still has powder, whereas the velveeta is the pouch of sauce.
extra old cheddar flosey?
Mature, Mlf.
yes, much more flavour
welp, speaking of food, its about lunchtime for me!
that is what i thought you meant :)
geriatric cheddar?
Do any of you know the brand o fcracker's and such called Lance?
i do
owl we have the cheese crackers filled with peanut butter .. to DIE FOR
not familiar with that name mlf, perhaps not available in Canada
flosey i don't think it is
i remember them in vending machines when we drove to FL. I knew I was in the south when they appeared.
sounds like mlf likes lance-a lot
captain's crackers. yum
according to what i just read briefly some of the things they make might be available in Canada
ruru just a little as does hubby:)
lol, ruru.
:D
ni 6 please?
Lance really owl ?
i mean i know they have been in vending machine's
ni6/30 another word for dope
hi blah
hi mlf, i've been enjoying the kraft vs. velveeta mac and cheese debate lol
<---stops looking for drugs in the grid
thanks lol
ruru i don't know what the word is
hah ru dope as in ninny not illegal drug
i though tit might be nicotine but its not
yeah got it after a lightbulb moment
illegal i think
have to get to work.. bbl to finish this damn grid
<--Makes macaroni and cheese from scratch
nope not a drug mlf
lol ruru
ni6/30 another word for dope
Maybe another word for lamebrain since dope has "dual meaning"
mac and cheese: melt 4 TBS butter in a baking dish, add 1 lb dry macaroni, 2 cups milk/ 2 cups chicken broth and 8 oz shredded cheese. Bake until top browns (about 45 min) (For a little kick, add 1-2 TBS mustard) You can also do 4 cups of milk instead but the broth keeps it light.
fw and off to read the daily, bb tonight at flip
molly thank you for the clarification I just found the word
Could someone kick start me on the GA's? I cannot see a thing. Ugh

hey ya jac. how are you doing honey?
Hi g/rose. I'm fine, thanks. Just finished some writing and editing. How are you?
i'm cruising. lots of advancements made in my medical care plan. doctor is quite pleased.
Glad to hear that g/rose.x
How is 2016 treating you so far?
Marc - well done.
very well thanx. workcover have admitted that i have a permanent severe disability. so that is one less court appearance i have to go though.
how are you faring? i see you have been doing some writing.
Court appearane?? What have I missed?
Yes, have ben writing, but mostly editing for my daughter, who is a brilliant writer. I'm so proud of how well she's done in the short time she's been at it seriously.
lol... you remember when i had the REVISION total knee replacement done? 2013. well it has left me with a supersensitive nerve and the fall apparently ruptured front and back tendons in both hips.
Ouch!
it has taken this long for workcover to admit i am now permanently disabled because of the fall.
I'd like to say that surprises me, g/rose, but given how much this world runs on money and 'damage limitation' these days, I can't.
i have also found a marvellous pain management doc who has taken me under his wing. it has given me a new lease on life.
Glad to hear about your new doc.
well it is all about the almighty dollar isn't it?
has your daughter been published yet?
Seems to be, these days, g/rose. :(
Yes, my daughter has been published quite a lot. Like I said, she's like the younger me and I'm immensely proud of her.
oh how wonderful. what genre does she write in?
She's come through a lot to get where she is now.
any clues for the single I
Please?
in7/28 pigeon
All genres at the moment, g/rose, since she's just starting out seriously.
Nm. Just found it.
could you please email me and let me know her name? i would like to look for her books.
I write most genres myself, but know the ones I'm most comfortable in.
unless you are okay with her name being in chat.
No books yet, g/rose. Short stories, flash fiction, poetry and articles. Not all writers write novels.
ahhhh. so where is her work being published?
Her author name is Daisy Warwick, g/rose.
Mostly on the 'net right now, though there is a paper book or three which she is part of.
must look for her. i am intrigued.
