Hi flosey - your new dog is beautiful. Good idea to take on an older dog. We are also faced with this decision - our spaniel is getting very frail and almost completely blind so cant have a puppy but have to find an older dog that can also live with 5 cats
wow, 5 cats! good luck in getting another dog - we were lucky, daughter was watching for in Vancouver for us. He has a very sweet nature
our divorced daughter and two kids moved back in with us and brought her two cats. We still have my Mom's cat and two of our own.
we have one cat and the two have not met yet, cat lives outside - sleeps on a 2nd level balcony outside of my office and that's where we put his food and water
Alternative is to wait until the spaniel has passed on and then get a young dog that the cats can dominate
occassionally he comes in, struts around a bit and lets us know it's time to go out again
Just a few years back we were quite happy with the one dog and one cat - but life happens and animals need homes
so, quite a houseful, but nice that you were able to accommodate your daughter and kids
Quite a tiring houseful - we had built a small flat for my Mom who then went into frail care so effectively have 5 bedrooms - one 16 year old teenager and one 12 year old boy with ADHD - very active and noisy household now

I usually look up the definition of one word I don't know. And try to remember that. All at once is never gonna work, lol
i do too, sometimes...but many are not in the dictionary or coins or things that don't stay in my brain
no not really. They are all straightforward today. All 4 or 5 letters. Ke4/5 combo x 2. And then 2 single ke4s and a single kn4.
at the bottom of my profile is a list of babble idiom. It includes many babblets, with the definition. And a fun place to look for definitions is www.infoplease.com You can look up a word in many dictionaries at once there, or in a thesaurus or on google.

We had a couple of small snows but nothing really accumulated. There were winters, after our arrival in France 18 yrs ago, where the snow was so deep thyat the dogs made tunnels
