Morning! I'm just awaiting the call to say our house is ready - today is the big completion day (though we're not moving in today as we have to give notice on the flat)
Does anyone have stats for that lone N in the top row?
NO 4/5
no4/5
Congrats on the new property, Matty!
Thank you most kindly
when is moving day?
Jeff (the OH) has a week off next week, so we'll probably do it properly then
how exciting! nice to move into somewhere new, but a pain to box everything up and redistribute.
Yeah. I wanted to hire movers but Jeff vetoed that
It always feels strange when all your possessions are in boxes and they are moved out of the house and it is all empty. It seems to feel sad in a way lol
I suppose it is all the memories of your life so far in that place..I am not sure. Or is it just me LOL
It does - though it'll be a little different here, as technically, this is a furnished flat (where we are now), but Jeff's been here so long most of the furniture is his
Well I hope you have many wonderful memories to come in your new home, Matty!
I think you're right zooz. the memories that linger, but I've enjoyed all the moves I've made. new start and all that.
Oh yes a new start is a good thing in most cases. Would not mind one myself lol
also gleening all the junque and tossing it out is a good feeling. I still have boxes of stuff I need to just toss, as I obviously don't need or miss the stuff...been in boxes for 13 years! lol
Good moring all
morning I mean :)
ooh you might have some little gems of treasure in those boxes, Dawg!! They always seem to come back around again in fashion sense..retro and all that!
ello, Sukee :-)
Hello*
Hi zoo
You might have some troika pottery stahed in one of the boxes or something similar. they seem to be fetching good prices at the moment!
Chilly morning here.
I have boxes still sealed from two moves ago
Sunny but mild day here, Sukee. Hence why I have my washing ouut on the line :-)
Nice, the end of the week is supposed to be better
I have a few in the loft too, Matty. But nothing worth having only sentimental things lol
Hope it is for you, Sukee :-) got anything nice planned for the weekend?
Nope, but it is a long weekend.
How are your cats these days? Behaving themselves I hope LOL
Don't let anyone ever tell you baseball is boring, a fist fight broke out at a Jays game yesterday :)
Ahh is that why you have that ic4?
That seems to be what caused it
Did you buy the T-shirt sukee?
No :)
... Got it as a gift ...
Nice.
hi sukee and dos! zooz, i doubt if there are any valuable treasures in those boxes. more like just junk. Emotional attachments perhaps, but still need to be tossed.
hi lbd
tadone! fun grid.
I have moved several times over the years so don't really have much to pack when i move . I had a company come in last summer and clean out a lot of stuff too.
Congrats, Dawg!
wtg
Will be back later need to do other chores. Happy babbling everyone!
hagd, zooz. I must go get ready for work. ttfn
Good morning
Hi car
Time for me to go get ready too, have a good day all.

Let me know if I can assist.
Would anyone care to clue the lone A in the far right column?
aw 5/18 - to be conscious of something (I think)\
No - wrong a - sorry
That came up as the one next to it, but I needed that too...!

good morning dear friends
Hi Trif - saw about your trip to Ireland - so exciting. We hope to go to Ireland next time we visit the UK - don't know when that will be.
thanks lizlin. SO MUCH to organize, but very excitign
Are you travelling all over?
yes, I think so
I've always wanted to visit the south and west coasts - they look so rugged and beautiful.
ca 6/24, pls
honesty, straightforwardness
Im slightly cowed at being the only driver....
ty Trif
So just be sure that you set the pace and stop driving before you feel tired.
thanks
will you be driving on the "wrong" side, trif? :-)
No Une - you drive on the wrong side :)
for me, yes un
une
We've hiked the Kerry Way and had a great Irish guide
liz, please note the quotation marks LOL
It must be difficult to swap driving sides - I've only ever driven on the left!
I know - I was joking too!
:-)
the difference between renting a standard vs an automatic is gaping. I can drive a stick, but im thinking - wrong side, jet lag, teenagers in tow, AND shifting with my left hand? Might be worth the money to eliminate ONE factor!
count for the single n please?
Hopefully the country roads will be quiet - cities might be more challenging. Sounds like a good idea to drive automatic - if it's not too outrageous in cost.
no 4/5
Or practice sitting in a manual car - sit in the passenger seat and practice gear changing!
With someone else in the driver seat, foot on clutch!
ah! thanks. nbt, feeling very smug
bell is about to ring....xoxox

Hi Hego
Hi Scrabs, you've had a busy week. :)
and very entertaining too.
Yes, Leslie will leave Wed morning when I return to work, so we will hike again this afternoon and tomorrow morning.
Keep warm.
Our great-nephews became ill with gastroenteritis Fri night so we are staying away til tomorrow afternoon.
Both of them?
We saw our mom yesterday. She will be 85 in a few weeks.
Both boys --vomiting, diarrhea, and fever.
Will you celebrate?
Oh my, poor mom.
We will have a cake.
Best wishes to her.
Thanks. She is the last survivor from her generation on that side.
It's sad to see the last one go.
But she will be here for a while.
My cousins have a pile of photos and we need my mother to identify everyone.
yes, that's important.
Really old photos, is what I mean.
Because when the last one passes you can never ask again.
My mother has a great memory too.
That's good.
Good Afternoon. Scrabs, it's so hard to be "the last" of a family's generation. I have an aunt I call and ask her the dumbest questions ("what did your cousin Mary Jo do?") & she often doesn't know that answer (she was the youngest of 9 kids.).
We lost our last aunt a couple of years ago. She was great. 94 when she died.
Hi Nef. My mother remembers everything about the old neighborhood where she grew up. Her parents were Italian immigrants and everyone in that neighborhood was Italian. She didn't speak English until kindergarten.
neither did i .... ;o)
spoke French...
Really Penq?
How wonderful to grow up bilingual!
Interesting.
I agree Scrabs.
yes.... we got a tv when i was about 5 and my brother was two and a half years older so he started learning English before me...
My mother did not raise us bilingual and I SO wish she had.
i went to parochial school....half the day was in French until about 4th grade....then more English because of Social Studies and Science...
No, my grandparents didn't believe in that. Their kids had to speak English.
Hego, I think the immigrant attitude was to speak English in order to assimilate.
Top N clue please?
We all had to learn Italian as adults.
funny because my grandparents spoke almost no English....
True Scrabs.
NM, I thought I typed it in before and I didn't.
no 4,5
of course, my community was probably at least 60 percent of French Canadian descent...
I think it's great to know your heritage.
me, too...
My grandparents spoke very little English, but there was no understanding of the benefits of being bilingual, I guess.
my father's first cousin moved from Maine to California when he was 8.....didn't speak much English....went on to found Patagonia.... ;o)
The aunt who raised me was the oldest of the 9 siblings (& the joke was that she could remember her baptism; she had such a phenomenal memory.(my mom was the 4th child).
cool, nef...
Haha.
The company Patagonia?
yes... Yvon Chouinard....started out as a mountain climber...
Wow, I have at least one Patagonia fleece. And it was really expensive, haha.
hah...
his brother was a private detective....once worked for Howard Hughes....interesting side of the family....
Patagonia is a very progressive company....they donate a lot to environmental causes....flex time for workers (who might want to go surfing instead of working)....day care....bring your dog to work....
cool!
My middle nephew works for an interesting company like that--Zappo's in Las Vegas. He started there last July.
very cool!
yes, they are a cool company, too...
Chouinard's book is called "Let My People Go Surfing"....
:)
just realized that there are five As in this grid....too many!
It's not too bad.
i am down to 30 and not seeing anything...
I could use a break too, with 54 left.
Later....
i am heading out too....bbl to find my last 28....
*waving*...
See you later!
ne
sorry
are you a knight gail?
they say "ni" which isn't in the puzzle ...
aah. carry on then.
... another fine English comedy series .. Carry On Babbling ... I'm sure I watched that as a child
could I have a clue for the lone E please?
... volcano
ty dos. nbt!
and halfway!
Don't forget the Babble adage, where there is the volcano there is also the wager
... 39 left ... but I'm afraid I must go ... luck to all

What's wrong with Dylan?
I'll write to you privately about it soon.
Okay, Sorry, I was just joking about the pets and weather chat. I didn't know he was having problems. Sending good vibes to him and you.
