wow grannie! well done
morning all
hey sprite :-)
hey Une :) *hug*
{{hugs}} and good morning sprite. did yesterday absolutely whack you?
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend. Um yeah. And the ABs are done, so now the reactions start. woke up 5 am with ummmm bowel issues... not in time at the toilet... you can fill in the rest
so shoot me and let's be done with it ;)
how are you? Can you manage the pain? And did you get more painkillers yet?
*giggle* i am a bad aim... except with the water bottle...*squirt, sqirt*. that's not nice at all after all you did to try and stave that attack off.
tomorrow dr's appointment. had a good cry last night, so not feeling so down today.
no it isn't. Ah well, this too shall pass. It is no biggie on the grand scale of things.
{{{{{rose}}}}} Come here you, and cry on my shoulder. Why can't your doctor give you a refill on the endone right away?
brb. going for crackers and vegemite
ok sweetie
sprite, the clinic has such a good reputation. i was fortunate to get in within 36 hours
hm it is different from here, I guess. Here, if I have a prescription for a certain med, all I have to do is call and let them renew it, and the pharmacy will prepare it. For me to pick up, or even to deliver.
phantom: menuet
and back *licking every last skerrick of vegemite from fingers*
hehehe :D
the law here says the doctors are not allowed to issue a new script for certain meds without seeing the patient first.
aw :( Here they check your use, but if it is within their prescripted amounts, you get a refill without having to go see the doctor.
one more nightshift, tonight, rose. And then a whole month off. Only the summer happening on July 7. But that is just for fun.
here the few have spoiled it for the many. addicts go from dr to dr, and hospital emergency rooms just to feed their habit. it is more difficult n owadays as with the internet, doctors, hospitals AND chemists are all linked together. any one of them can quickly see if an addict has been doing the 'rounds'
thank heavens for that sprite.
it is linked here too. Nobody can go shop around for meds. I guess that is why we can call in for refills. They always check, especially with things like oxycodone.
sorry honey. don has been to a funeral for a friend of ours. i couldn't go because they were forming a guard of honour with the motorcycles. he was more don's friend than mine.
anyway, he has just messaged me to say he is on his way home now.
I am sorry for your loss :( Was it a good goodbye for Don? Am sorry you couldn't go.
phantom: eminent
no not really. after many years of battling cancer he had finally won, no cancer to be found. then he had two heart attacks, one day after another.
omg that is so sad. How bitter.
it is so ironic. he was one of nature's gentlemen too.
:( Wish the Big Guy wouldn't call the great people home early all the time. Can't He start with the assholes?
roflolll... i hear you.... now where would i start?
ikr? it's not like I want to sit in His chair, but I do have some gentle suggestions...
well i'll be buttered on both sides. a word in todays grid i felt was so made up, but it actually does have a meaning.
lol! I just tried li7/44 for the heck of it and it took
ikr ? so did i. i nearly fell off the chair
was that the one you meant?
no. the meaning of the word i felt was so silly is.. someone who constantly pretends.
POUNCE
could you pls give me the stats?
WOWOW!!!! herin.... xoxox....
lady! *hugs* Girl where have you beennnnn? Has been ages!
se6/21
ah ok, thanks, had it. Odd indeed
Hidding
how are you, lady?
Getting there. Your self? We seem to play time tag
I am fine.
What about the Spritelets?
hehehe the Spritelets are grown. Son is 20 now, studies chemistry in Amsterdam. And daughter just passed her finals, cum laude, and will leave home in two months to go study and live at the other side of the country
WOW. What is she studying?
linguistics
Smart Sprites :D
they are :) And good people too. So if we can convince son that it is time to move out, it will be just Rob and me.
how is himself?
Busy as a branch Manager
sounds good! And yourself? Any job? Or still studying?
Just started studying again.
law again?
Dad passed away back in March from Cancer. He was diagnosed in Nov and was gone by March. Since then I cut my hair short short in his honour.
aw sweetie :( I am so sorry for your loss. Tough time. *hug*
Yes we were grateful we got Christmas with him. ANd no not law Bachelor of Social Science, criminology.
interesting subject. Are you enjoying it?
Just restarting it. I was meant to start in March.
I can see why that was impossible. Good for you to start again now.
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!!
Yah Sprite
thanks honey :) A big *hug* for you both. Lovely to have seen you, lady. And rose, take care... sleep well xxx
Night Sprite
xoxox sprite. enjoy your day.
Rose you frozen up your way?
Hint for the un9 please
not scrupulously clean, Alleyn
Nice clue.Thank you for the Un9 :-)
Found it all by myself!
wtg Alleyn, yqw zooz :)
Phantom : tsetse
Did you go cross-eyed trying to make that work, Zoom? : D
lol I was sure it was there but oh well :-)
The un9 seems like a clumsy word to me. I guess if the operating room is contaminated it is un9. But I would think two words, starting with not would be the more proper way to express that idea.
I wonder if it's a difference of expectation... if the environment is accepted as non or not, then use that, but if equipment is meant to be, but isn't then use the un prefix? It's a stretch though, because it still seems redundant.
non-sterile never claims to be sterile. unsterile was sterile and now is not.
oh. i arrive at the blip. Good morning everyone.
Hello, Glantarell :-)
Well, I was thinking of not st7. That seems to be the way it is said. The operating room is not st7, not the operating room is un9. But you know how Babble is.
wet and windy here so thought I'd settle down and babble :-)
Example of what I found.
Non-sterile Gloves - Gloves that were never supposed to be sterile but used casually in non-sterile procedures like checking the oral cavity, digital rectal examination, etc. Unsterile Gloves - A surgeon has scrubbed and worn a sterile glove but he accidentally touches some non sterile object. His gloves are now 'unsterile'.
It is windy here too, Glatarell and looks like it is trying to rain.
I agree about non, Zoom. Again, I was thinking of not.
it's raining witches and old women here (translated Welsh idiom)
And EW, I would hope st7 gloves would be used in checking out the oral cavity.
the oral cavity can be un*******
Saying that, Molly!! Many years ago my sister was a dentist assistant and I went to the dentist for a check-up I was with her dentist and he put his hands in my mouth with his gloves then took them out and to demonstrate something about the molars he put his fingers in my sister's mouth and ran the fingers along her front teeth then put his hands back in my mouth!! I never went back again.
My sister could not see what was wrong with that as were related!
I thought detal gloves were to protect them, not the patient? In the wake of HIV/Aids, because there is often blood in patient mouths.
Goo morning all
Good morning even.
It is to protect both the patient and the person doing the profession.
Hello, sukee :-)
ah. And Hi Sukee
this grid is full of phantoms :-D
Relief for one, Glantarell.
Trifle is the one I keep seeing
i need to go to the shops and buy some food before the rain comes down. Thanks for asking about the UN9 word, Molly. that was interesting looking up the meanings. Back later.
Hi kids.
Hi SCrabs
Hi Scrabs
Good morning, everyone:) Big day today!!
Hi Crossy
Big day?
Wife's grad ceremonies! :)
She finnaly gets to don cap and gown ;)
Yay for Elegant! Congrats to her!
There is a small, new update in my profile.
yesterday and today the grid is a tad 'cheesy" lol
I like the way you wrote your comments in your profile. Focus on the end result, a graduation!
I found 85 words and am stuck now.
Yes indeed! She deserves it. She worked her tail off!
What are her plans next?
Hopefully, to take some socail work course, barring that, some more communication course, and a course in professional photography
social
I am not typing well today :)
How is her vision?
Our college offers a great 2 year course for those who wish to become a social worker and help troubled families in our community... she still needs her visual aids, Scrabby her vision on a good day is still 20/200 but more often 20/44
20/400
One eye is pretty much useless now, but the other is holding for now. She is the most stubborn woman I know of, and she never, ever lets her disability get her down
That makes her graduation all the more impressive. She has overcome a visual disability. What perseverance!
I bought her an e-reader years ago so she can continue to enjoy books, and she has a special monitor for computer work
I will have to help her walk onto the stage to receive her diploma, but I will be glad to have the honour of walking beside her today.
With 102 words I must get ready for work. I have a packed schedule for the next 2 days and must run errands during lunch hour today.
You have a great day, scrabby.
How wonderful, Crossy! There won't be a dry eye in the room! That sight would make me sob. I am so proud of her.
:)
And, sadly, you have gone to school with so many lazy, unmotivated students that have no work ethic that do not value higher education.
Speaking of which, I must get the woman of the hour out of bed!
Bye!
it was something to see ,scrabby. yough is wasted on the young.

I helped her add a colour rinse to her hair. first time I have ever coloured someones hair. lol. what a riot!
a veritable fountain of firsts at Casa Crossy :-)
lol. At least i did not colour her face in the process!
a success then LOL!
All went well. :)
Now, just to get her showered so sh can go through the hair/makeup ritual and get her out the door by 11:15
you're indeed an excellent personal assistant!
I am at her beck and call today. A perfect manservant :)
off to grab some caffeine . . . BBL . . . all best wishes, Crossy and graduate :-)

Congrats, sue!!
congratulations sue! how wonderful!
ty again all. Today he started his vacation, i did not :(
it's ok, i left him with a honey-do list to think of me with
i just realized something; since being on here i have graduated with 2 assoc. degrees, got a full time job, and got married. wow, you really are all very much part of my life. thank you
The best part (in my opinion) of a lengthy marriage, is going through the good and the bad together and keeping it all together long enough to learn the true measure of each other. Going through the fire and the rain--together, enduring the best and the worst that life throws at you, and in the end, helping each other to the other side is the ultimate goal. If you can get to that point, there is this sense of utter trust, of knowing, and of loving another so intensely that you understand our partners moods instantly, and perfectly. Together, you are both more of a conjoined organism working as one, succeeding where alone, you would otherwise fail, and in that there is comfort of a type attained by only the fortunate.
Mark 7 - 9
Mark 7 - 9 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.â€â€¦
Another way of putting it :)

lol -- been a long time since I was preggers -- have grandkids in university
me too, nan.
haven't had kids yet. don't think i'm going to at my age.
I've managed to avoid getting pregnant
:p
Did it take a lot of effort Ru?
I hold one aspirin between my knees
finally, ty for the ut5
Kids don't last very long, anyway. Next thing you know you got teenagers.
Mine said those awful words to me for the first time yesterday. Broke my heart.
Ru that's the method my mother recommended.
Car, what?
I hate you. I wish you were dead.
Ouch!
i need 2 more 8's. i have ri8, er7/8, fe7/8, li8, re7/8, te7/8
ooh. awful car.
Don't worry, he doesn't mean it. Just venting.
There was quite a bit more than that. venom-filled. Off to counseling we go.
I hate adolescence.
Big ouch. And how old is your offender?
13
did you take away computer privileges or something?
Counseling is good.
Yup.
13!! The worst!
Yep. That sounds about right. The no filter years.
ah -- no cell hurts more
dont worry car, it only lasts till 15
I am crushed.
Think of all he's going through with hormones and body changes, etc.
it is the time the aliens take that cute 12yr old and returns them around 15 - 16 when they need money again.
yes, but I have been going through a lot too.
that's if the offender is male -- girls carry grudges longer
I'm still going through hormone and body changes hego
I knew it would be coming, but just so hard to hear. The other stuff he said was horrible.
Yes, it happens again later on, doesn't it Ru.
I'd rather have teenaged boys to raise any day --- can't put up with drama queens
car, he needs to be held accountable.
Oh, I totally agree cybernan
oh.. LOL nan.. you must not read the chat much
Car, I'm sorry for your pain. definitely do the counseling.
I'm open to suggestions. Hubby and I seem to be stalemated on that issue.
i have teen boys who are drama queens :)"
no idea on the un9
you need to sit down with him, look him in the eyes and say "I hear what you are saying, and I am doing the best i can". You cant raise your voice or feelings and just reiterate it again and again.
My daughter was the biggest drama queen ever, but I got her better than the boys.
ruru, think hospital clean then put the un
I didn't yell back yesterday and it drove him nuts. I just acknowledged what he was saying.
thank you sue
ty
Good
I need punishment ideas though.
stocks?
no cell phone
that is all you can do. Mine, after the first screeming match that i didnt fall for (after the shrink told me what to say), he would start laughing when i started saying "I hear....
your hubby should be supporting you. There is no excuse other than parental abuse for a child to disrespect his or her parents. Can't abide all this psychobabble --- kid's need to know the line and respect the rules.
I get that it is "normal" at this age, but the venom with which he said it was bothersome. he also picked up a knife at one point, which I am NOT happy about at all.
I'm with Nan.
the idea is just to stop the fight. If he walks away, that is ok too. that is what you want him to do in an office environment.
wow car. that's not good
Sometime I think it is no wonder so many young people wind up in jail --- they were never taught that there are consequences to bad behaviour.
Hubby totally had my back and served as a great moderator. However, I don't care if this is "expected" in teen boys. there has to be consequences.
I'm thinking no computer, a few extra chores, and counseling.
Sounds good
car, when he is calm, sit down and talk with him. Tell him you understand things are changing in his body, but that is no excuse for his behavior. That he hurt you in your heart and it is not allowed in your house. what started the argument?
I think no computer, extra chores, and counseling is a good idea
I would also like to see if I can get him to volunteer at a the senior center or other facility once a week.
Picking up a knife is NOT normal. Big time punishment for that. I'd ask him what made him pick up the knife.
It was all over a fight he and his brother had over a game they were playing on the computer.
Taking the phone away isn't good. Then you can't keep track of them.
Mine were grounded and given extra household chores for such offenses -- but nowadays I think grounding and withdrawal of cell phone and computer privileges would do it.
I plan to Judi.
He doesn't have a cell phone.
Solitary confinement. No computer, no cell phone, no music. Give him a book to read.
car, does he have add or adhd (not an excuse, i understand so nobody jump on me)?
hello again
That's what both boys did last night. And hubby disabled the computers so even if they dig them out, they won't work.
the knife thing would bother me too..
Ground him to you. Meaning he has to stay with you doing your chores or whatever it is you are doing.
what did your hubby say about that car?
My gut tells me he was doing it for effect.
nothing. just "not good"
hi speedie
wrong effect
Hi
yes telling you he's really upset.
car do you mean on purpose?
I like speedie's idea. Let him walk in your shoes
Drama aside, that is a big no go. And he needs to apologize to his brother and you.
how old is his brother?
thankfully, the brother had left the house by this time with tertiare.
11
This too shall pass.
I do appreciate all your input.
I know hego, I know
i think, and it is just me and mine, that "sitting" causes most troubles with kids. too much pent up energy. Get them outside.
is he being bullied at school car?
They have been swimming at the Y with hubby
The saddest and happiest part of life is that nothing lasts forever.
sue I say give them a good book
nice, does that seem to help car?
i like that too mlf
No, but his friends that he plays online with treat each other very strangely. They swear and yell at each other and say horrible things, but then laugh and say its just them.
car, what does he like to do, other then computer
they need to do things separately but together
that is my 15yr old exactly car
car that doesn't sound good
to the tee, and we had the 13yr old crud too. I sat down with him, cried, and told him how it made me feel and that i am not his enemy, but i am not his friend either.
All kids do that stuff now.
sue guilt trips don't always work
hi hego
my 21-25 year-old nephews do that all day too
not guilt mlf, just honest
hi ruru
really Ru?
morning mlf
sue yeah but sometimes that doesn't register to them
really.. it's very sad for me..
The best thing that ever happened to my boys was their involvement in athletics. They had a wonderful track coach who laid down the law and there was no such thing as first offence. They knew that if they broke the rules they were off the team.
morning ruru
mom's day program just called and I need to go pick her up. Aagin, thank you for your ideas and support.
(((HUGS)))
i told him that his words hurt. That there are consequences to his actions. that since he was so grown up, it was time for him to do the chores that he was not old enough to do before...lawn, laundry, mopping...
cyber how long have they been running track?
bye car
sue those things can start at any age
but not mowing

i love that cyber. Wesley knows that his actions towards me reflects in his after school activities. he doesnt behave, no marching band or drumline. if he is not responsible enough to watch his mouth or take care of his room and the house, i was not going out of my way.
mlf, i now any age is good for those things, but I couldnt afford him doing laundry. now he did pick up his clothing and take it to the room.

Good Afternoon Everyone. I cannot understand how there can be 20 words from that corner "L"
Hi Nef.i only have 14 and am struggling!
Hi lilliann! How are you (I haven't seen you for a long time!)
I'm alright thanks.I took my time off for good behaviour! :) How are you?
Now after some of these grids lately i wish i'd stayed away a bit longer :) but i'm glad to be back at catch up with some lovely babblers
Lillian I don't understand your te clue?
Did you need to behave OFF Babble ? (And we were a bad influence?)
Nef.How is your grandson?
er7?
He's 7 now; still the apple of my eye; and smart as a whip! (He actually was recommended by his teacher for advanced academy for summer school; he's been studying math & science during this time) :-) (I'm so proud of him!)
er7 hermit or recluse
Sorry MLF I don't have it but will look
and plural
I never behave!! I went off last Summer so i could spend time with the bairn during school holidays as her dad works away and then broke my index finger and it was too much to type and then i just got carried away with my crafting when my finger healed.
How about your daughter Lillian?
une do you know which er it comes from?
bottom row
te4 Mlf,double vowel and then add someone who would be one
I am confused
not getting it sorry
Wow! where's the time gone Nef.Good for him.you have a very intelligent grandson,no wonder you're so proud, saying that you'd be proud anyway!
gotthem
te4 sounds like agroup of sports people who work together then add 2 letters that would sound like one person doing it
Hi Une
very true, lil; if he wasn't smart at all I'd still be super proud of him.
The bairn has finished high school and now awaiting her exam results in August and then hopefully going away to college
Lillian I have that word
hey lillian :-)
good Mlf as i was running out of ideas.I don't have my clueing head on today...saying that i never do :D
the bairn has grown up too! Yikes! (are "we" getting older too? --No, not at all!)
nef who are you calling old??:)
Lillian np
I know Nef, she's nearly 17.I can't believe where the time has gone!We went to a big shopping up here today and i was looking at all the babies and toddlers and thinking she was like that once.lovely and sweet and now she's mouthy!
Absolutely No One playing Babble, MLF!
Have you transported anymore dogs lately Une?
ohhh ok nef:D
Mlf, you only feel as old as the person you are feeling! :D
ewww

LOL, lil! I have a friend in TX who had twins after IVF; (no man in her life & "her internal clock was ticking"; her babies are now 10 months old & she's wondering what she's in for in the future! :-)
Lillian as long as she doesn't have babies at that age everything else is fine
she' 40 now.
same with my neice. IVF twwins at 49!!liu
Ahh, good for her, but i hope they aren't girls!
hi deeha
hi folks
she has 1 of each, lil. and her girl is the real troublemaker she says
Hi Deeha
your niece is very brave, Deeha
Hi Deeha. How's the weather down there?
are both sets of fe 7/'s singular and pl?
no two boys. liucky she has a very supportive partner but perhaps that i why she waited so long, hrr prrvious blokes werent like him
Lillian do you watch tennis?
my fe is a 6&7 MLF
Wow Deeha.well atleast she has someone to help which will make things alot easier and boys are normally nicer as they grow up, so i've been told
I have one fe 7/8 and the fe 8/60 is a pl
Dont ask about the weather!!it has rained on and off for at least a couple of weeks and I for one havent taken my duvet off yet!!
Oh dear Nef, if she is trouble now she'll be a nighmare when she reaches her teens1
lillain my brothers are 13 months apart and as kids they were not easy to deal with so my mother has told me
I just got the fe 7/8
two sets of them nef
sometimes Mlf.I've been to Wimbledon when Navratalova was playing, saw her and i can't think of the 2 German players and Agassi, the german lass is with him now.It was years ago obviously
MLF, my 2 sisters & I are 13 & 15 months apart. Our Mom had her hands full with those 2 (I was the "good child" in the middle!)
"good child"..did you have middle child syndrome?
It's been like that here too Deeha. We've had a couple of nice days inbetween but other wise, crap.I think my plants are getting water logged!
Yep, even as a toddler I did MLF
nef oh geez.. in our family, for years the middle child not me was the favorite but in recent years not at all
actually, I was the second of 5 living kids (full siblings; Mom died , Dad remarried & I have 2 half sibs too.
your family must have fun nef!
Wow nef you were all close.Did you get on with your half sibs?
Nope, We were raised by an Aunt & Uncle after Mom died; I have a cousin in between my younger sister & brother; there were 6 of us for most of our childhoods; I was always too slow to be the favorite
I was away las week and while I was Kent had a terrific storm 8000 lightening strikes.I came home next day via London, trains were out because of signals struck, tubes were closed because of flooding. It was chaos
wow scary deeha
WOW! That was some storm, Deeha!
Aww Nef, I'm sorry to hear that
too slow to be the favorite?
sorry I missed it I love a storm
"Slow enough to make a saint swear" MLF! :-)
My brother lives in Deal Deeha, but i haven't heard from him, so i didn't know how bad it was
my husband grew up with lots of lightning storms
lol nef ohh
:) Deeha
I have to get some work done; it's 2:30 PM & I haven't done anything yet (I am dressed though, I think that counts! ;-) Anyway, Happy Babbling, Everyone; I plan to return tonight & hopefully finish then.
Well, you're not the middle child here Nef.x
bye nef 3 35 here
I still have 74 words left and I am just typing in the same words ughh
Well, you got dressed so you've done something! Bye Nef, tc hin.
Bye!
can I argue that the le 7/0 is a real word or not?
7/40
I thought it odd Mlf
same here lillian
But then half the words on here are odd!
a lot of words in any of these grids are odd Lillian always have been
:)
I have 63 words to get and have just promised the bairn that we will continue your game of cards at 9.20 as she's watching Hawaii 5 O
I have 69 left
i told my husband i threw out some of my cds he asked me what for?
well since i don't listen to certain ones and want to buy some others why not ?
In many stores you can sell them back.
Could you not have sold them.we have a shop here that you can take cd's dvd's games and they buy them off you and then credit you so you can then buy more. I know they are still making but you can get some cheap films and music.
Here also Lill
If some of mine are damaged i use them to craft with.
Wb Hego :)
oh yes their is a store about a half hour from here i could do that but i don't know if we would go there or not.
wb hego
ty :)
You can make garden ornaments out of them.they look good when the light reflects of them.
re 7/32 - clue please

yes, the le7 felt like it wasn't real
although we do sometimes say bestest as a laugh - i bet it's not in the dictionary
B's bashed
last one - te 6/18 ?
Aye, Mlf and me said that.Aye as in 'bestest friend'
gran, which one?
te - when you're about to fall off the edge?
te- the person who tastes your food to make sure it's safe to eat?
Thanks and finished
exam giver?
te6/18 lastone sounds like when you get really soggy with the rain
well done
WTG Gran
ooh, don't have that one, will think about the clue
Yay!Gran!
ty liliann
Yw Glant, i thought it was a crap clue but saying that i could have just said what's happening in the Uk
:-9
I better get my head down as the bairn will expect me to be ready to play cards at exactly 9.20 and i still need 48.
i am still finding plurals lol
phantom terrier
I know i keep wanting to put that.
I did put it.
ah, a word i have been looking for te6 has the first 4 letters as my phantom
:) Hego
Ts trounced
The bairn has given me a 10 minute reprieve, and then i can get her to cut up some cucumber and celery and we can dip it in tziki(i know that's spelt wrong) whilst we play
yum
sadly i have that one Glant
We ate out today so instead of crisps we'll have healthy dips as it's getting on
I only just found the te british currency note
i only got it from a clue earlier lol
i'm missing a tu 5 after the musical one
sauce made with fish
I have a tu5 that ends in the sometimes vowel
ooh, she's having a shower, that gives me more time as she takes forever to wash her hair!
the other tu is the person who makes sure the engine runs smooth or the piano sounds right
That's it, ty Peri and hi
yw and hi
Ty Hego
yw
Hi Peri
hi hego, how are you and Billy?
We're well, Peri, ty.
How are you?
good.
How's your apt?
I am doing very well, thank you. enjoying my apartment and the peace and quiet.
great!
bbl 60 left, laundry to do.
I love the way Peri flutters in and out. :)
And asks for clues but gets them the next second:)
The Peri move.
That's good Hego, when others do that we should call it the 'Peri move'
That good be dance
actually, Lill we do call it that. :)
*that could be a dance! when the grid is twisty, we'll call it a 'Peri Move'
Oh, i've missed alot :(
Awwwww....
the bairn has now given me until 10.10 as she said she wants to watch another episode of Hawaii 5 o.It's only because i'm beating her and she hopes i'm too tired to play so she can beat me and go ahead
haha
My favorite thing that Peri does is post "bs" for "back soon". It looks like she is calling bullshit on the person who posted before her. : D
:)
lol
Mediocracy achieved!
3's never go...well flowers pictures etc but not friends or family because of jealousy!
Sorry, justventing!
3's?
Vent away...It's okay.
it's ok with me too, i just don't know what it means. lol
as in flowers and pictures on walls should be 3 and 5's as it draws your eyes but odds in families don't work!
i'm the oldest of 3... we did have some probs when we were kids, but now i consider both my sisters good friends
I'd never heard that before.
name that proper noun! Dame Helen
Mirren
When there is an odd family member, someone always gets jealous. There is my husband and our bairn and she gets jealous when we are both together and even speaking on the phone and she has created so many problems and lies because of this, tonight being one of them!
Mirren
ding ding ding!
She's a brilliant actress
And even friends, as i was a friend of 2 others and there was jealously between us and that was back in the 80's
That's good Hurshy.Hopefully my bairn will think that of me someday like i do my mam
supervising elementary kids at recess, i have now heard, a couple of times, a kid saying "where the hell is so-and-so?". i know that if they did that in class they'd be reprimanded. can't decide whether i'm supposed to tell them it's not ok at recess. on the one hand, probably makes it more appealing if it's always forbidden. on the other hand, it's exposing littler kids to this, which i imagine at least some parents would be upset about.
we had a really good day today and then when her dad called she changed it!
I think you should because they are still in school
It's probably not okay.
Whether they are in class or playground, it's not ok.They are still in the School grounds.
thanks, it's always good to get an opinion that's not from your own head :)
You should live near me i hear bairns that age swearing worse than that!
lol
I hate swearing and when i hear young bairns do it, i just want to yell at them but it'll be no good because we'd get a brick or snowball thrown at the window!
Ohh, i forget...we've already had snowballs thrown for no reason!
Swearing round these parts is almost the vernacular. I, personally, can swear for 10 full minutes without repeating myself. Probably not my finest claim to fame! Hello all :-)
anyone have the 9?
Hi Soodle :)
Hey Lilli :-)
I can swear but it's normally in my head or quietely until i'm sat in a car and i can swear at other drivers!
*quietly
Sorry Hurshey - nowhere close to a 9 yet *%##%%<
yes Hursh.\do you want a clue or stats?
(That was me swearing, btw....)
if it is weird, a clue. if it is an everyday word, stats.
un9/60
woot thanks!
yw
So soods, how are you doing?
*sorry, soodle
I'm good, Lilli, thanks. Apparently, on my last trip to visit my bairns in the UK, I agreed to attend a Bay City Rollers concert in September. (Clearly there was a fair amount of alcohol involved). Now, it seems, I am being forced into fulfilling my promise. (You are probably far too young to recall the Bay City Rollers).
I hasten to add.... It wasn't my kids who pressganged me into this.. It was other women 'of a certain age'....
No, i remember them..That will be cool.Where to you have to go?
i'm 8 years younger than you
Chatham. Clearly, the older I get, the more I regress. I went to see Rod Stewart last Saturday. He was truly brilliant.
Chatham as in Kent?
Lol... When I was a Bay City Rollers fan (about age 13), you would have been about 5!!!!
omg I love the Bay City Rollers. S-A-TUR -DAY ... NIGHT!
Chatham as in Kent! My son lives there.
Hey Monkey - don your tartan & join me!!
Well I am in Virginia, not sure I can get there in time.
I will be with you in spirit, Soodle xoxo
I actually didnt know that the BaY City Rollers were known in the Us
OH yes, well I was in college in the 70s and they were quite well known. Lots of young screaming girl fans.
Shang-A-Lang, Monkey. :-)
(Beaming proudly.... I WAS one of those screamers!)
I never liked Rod Stewart.when i lived in Surrey and we went on a ferry to France and the sea was awful coming back from France, we ended up going around in circles for about an hour before we could get into the harbour and get into the docks...that was the only timei was ever sick but the music that kept playing was Rod Stewart and 'we are sailing'. i can't stand it anymore!!
lol you chickies are making me laugh
THanks I needed that!
i love shang a lang lang
Aww Lil, are you having a bad time?
Yeah I don't know what it is. Just overwhelmed with life's events.
Very understandable, Lilli, under those circumstances. But, by heck, he is a very attractive man. (Sadly, he seems to favour long-legged blondes ---sadly I am neither long-legged nor blonde). But he put on a magical performance.
The Ba;y City Rollers (and many other bands and musicians) did better in the US than they did in the UK.
ewww Soodle, he was never attractive!!
I agree Lil.
Well, not in my eyes, but we all have different tastes :)
Too true. There are women who have the steamies for Tom Petty and Mick Jagger.
I didn't know that molly
Tom Petty?
Tom Petty is hideous.
I agree. Tom Petty is filed under "I would kick him out of bed"
Ah, Monkey ... Thats the very best of Babble. Real life can be throwing a pile of sh*t at you - you come on here, and at least you will be distracted. (You may only be distracted by menopausal old ladies with a 'thing' for Rod Stewart, but at least its a distraction).
Well I am a post-menopausal old lady.
I say, if life is throwing a pile of shit at you, throw one back.
"or not have him in the my bed in the first place"?
Easier said than done, MollyL, but I admire the sentiment.
Glad you do, Soodlebum.
Excuse me Soodle, i'm menopausal, but i've never or will ever have a thing about Rod stewart...it just gives me the heebie jeebies!!
oh, crikey!! The menopausal old lady I was referring to was ME!!!
Good evening, everyone. Was a great day and a good time was had by all at the ceremonies.
I agree with that Molly...about throw a pile of sh** back...there's plenty of horse manure around here!
Good woman, Soodle! Offended everybody in one fell swoop.
Tons Lil.
Hi Crossy. You've just come into a chat full of hormonal women!!
I think that would be lacking in hormones.
No you didn't Soodle :)
Good grief... anyways, not anything I am not used to on the home front anyways.. ;)
I always ask the wife if it is hot and cold enough for her lol
Post-menopausal = estrogen depletion
Crossy, you're just used to one, but there are many here!! :D
Crossy, if I had a few glasses of wine on board, I'd break out in a rendition of The Dutchman...
I always have fans and blankies at the ready
lol, sing it, Soodles!
The hot/cold thing is during menopause. After that, there is just dry skin and brittle bones.
I still have hot flushes but have dry skin and am over half way to osteoperoses...will it ever stop!!
I've been told i have osto something which is half way to ostoperosis but they told me i was over that, when i had a bone scan
osteopenia comes before osteoporosis
I hate the dry skin!! i've tried loads of lotions but my face can't have water on it and i'm .....can't think of the word, where my face gets blotchy, red and sore
That's it Lil, ty hin.
rosacea ?
yes, that's it
Lil has the ia/ea stuff : D
I've had psoriasis for 9 years now. A horrible condition. So I empathise with your rosacae, Lilli
Soodle, that's not nice.I've cared for people with that a nd have known friends with it.the sun or a sunbed for a few minutes is good for that
Mine's not as bad as your's Soodle
I know people who have had very good luck with acupuncture for skin conditions.
I dont agree Lilli. Any skin condition is unpleasant for sufferers. The degree of unpleasantness depends on the sufferer.
I never tried acupuncture, Molly. Maybe that'll be my next option.
I didn't say otherwise Soodle
There are new creams around for Rosacea Lil - if you haven't discussed with your doctor in the last year it might be worth asking him/her about them
there is an antibiotic called doxcycline, 50 mgs daily usually clears up rosacea
*doxycycline
lil, also ask your doctor about doxycycline
thats what they are perscribing for some rosaceas here - long courses of antibiotics and the cream
Lil made a good point earlier. Limited sun exposure and lots and lots of water are good for skin conditions.
It worked for a friend of mine
Hi Lyn and thanks.I don't see my doctor much as i don't want to waste their time and there is not alot they can do for me now.The rocacea, i just cover with make-up with i f i go out
Doctors sometimes make more of a mess than you already have.
Soodle,i suffered with bad eczma from when i was born until i was 20 odd on my feet and they would crack open and i couldn't walk on them especially in the winter and i wss in alot of pain and had to put my feet in bowls of water with sea salt and put loads of crams on, so i know what skin conditions are like!
true GPs are a bit hit and miss (mostly miss!) with difficult skin conditions..but if it gets beyond being able to cover with make-up def. worth seeing a skin specialist
When i next go to my doctor Annie i will ask.I don't know if we get that here
The only problem Lyn, is that we have to go through our gp to see a specialist.
yes...we have to do that too Lil
I'm so glad my mam doesn't live in this country now as she has a tumour in her saliva gland and she would have had to go through a gp and then them send her to a consultant at the hospital which would have taken weeks. She got seen within a week from seeing her doctor, because he said it was important...that would not happen here!
Where is she Lil? Here they fast track things if they are life threatening too
It takes us weeks to get to the hospital and then weeks after that to get an appointment!
France
The consultant has said she has a tumour but he can remove it all with the saliva gland , so hopefully all will be well
Do you see her much? - and will the exit from EU make it any more difficult?
I must admit we don't.even though my parents live in France, it's actually expensive for us and quite far away, so whether it will be more expensive..time will see
Oh I understand that
we live up North so it costs us more than my brotherwho live down south
Oh that is too bad Lil. I thought you had travel perks because of your husband's job. Don't you go to Mexico, or some tropical place on vacation?
I really want to be there when she has her operation ,but i'd have to do it without my dad knowing, because he wouldn't want me or my brother especially him being there. But i couldn't do it without my dad
su6?
double cons & dbl vwl
su6,sounds like a sofa
ty lynxxxxxxxx
ty lill
Yes molly we have done but he has to earn it first and because not alot of Americans here this year he hasn't got the money and belief me, we'd be in France first!!
*believe
mmm - tropical place or France - I know which one I would choice - off to see Lils Mum!
choice? choose
And by the way Molly, it's not just about money, it's about me getting there!!
bye everyone - got to run. Keep us up to date with your Mum Lil. Sounds all very positive though.
It's not easy for me here as it is flight changes and when you're ina wheel chair and have to get to one airport to another and then to the next plane and with luggage and passport control and customs and then i need wheelchair assistance so you have to be there even earlier....when you know what it's like Molly tell me!!
Bye Lyn,well that's what my parents' told me so hopefully,Tc
I'm sure Molly didn't mean it to sound as ugly and accusing as it did.
Hi all.
well it did
well it did
Hi Jellen
sorry, didn't mean to repeat myself
Been lurking and eating dinner...lol

Ok Liz, tc hin
have a great rest of the week, lizlin!
not sure until she gets the results in August Stid.Hopefully she has done enough to get to college
I think she will have enough grades to get there
oh, that is a long time to wait for results! I hope she will have done well enough to do what she hopes.
how is your garden doing? I think you have had a fair bit of rain recently? Or was that further south?
She needs 4 c's or above and she already has a science c from last year.this year she did advanced science, so hopefully she's got another c or above.she thinks she did ok, but the bairn is always pessimistic about everything. She revised alot(sorry i couldn't remember the word)so she couldn't have done anymore than she did..the problem is, the bairn doesn't do well in exams, she knows it but she just freezes.
My garden is ok but i have alot of pots so i can get to them and some are waterlogged and some are dry.I've put these crystals in this year so when it rains they grow and keep the soil wet.supposed to be good when it's dry...except we've had alot of wet weather!
Those crystals are a good idea -- sorry, was paying attention to Tabitha's bird. He's upset because she isn't home a lot.
Aww,What is the bird?
It's a quaker parrot -- a rescue, and he has bonded really well with her, but doesn't generally love me. But, I am the one who is home most of the time... :-(
He's pretty smart, but not interested in hanging out with old people, it appears.
My cat's like that.I chose her and she loves the bairn more, until she's not here and then she loves anyone that gives her attention. Not that she tries to wake me up early hours for dreamies!!I don hear her though so she's given up,but she always has food down stairs
LOL poor mistreated kitty!
Yes, this bird is a bit of a challenge for me. I think it's trying to sleep on its big perch in the living room right now. I will move it to its cage in a little while...
She will head butt me though so she can come under the cover and cutch or(cwtch)
Does it talk?
:-) It is learning a few words -- today I think I heard "yellow" (its favorite color toy) and "step up" a couple times.
as long as it's not swearing! :)
true -- though if it hangs out with me all summer long, it may learn a few phrases...
LOL
How old is it roughly?
I think about 2 -- still young for a parrot.
So, you'll have it for quite a few years yet then.
I think they're beautiful but can be quite noisy?
Well, Tabitha likely won't be here much, she is one of our son's friends. Her job is close to our house, so she stays with us a lot.
It can be LOUD. Yesterday it squawked in one ear (so I put it in the cage), then when I took him out again, he squawked in the other ear... so I was hard of hearing on both sides for a while!
ah ok. so will you get a parrot?
No -- I am far too old, and I know how much animals grieve when their humans pre-decease them. I think we'll get another dog or two, but nothing that has a very long life span.
I am allergic to most birds -- tolerating this one at the moment, but not certain how long it will last.
That's good but sad!
LOL it's life... if we had big extended families still, I think I would get a bird, because there would be continuity. But these small "nuclear" families don't give much stability.
I wasn't talking about the bird but dogs
oh. :-)
What dog/s are you thinking of getting?
I love my garden birds and feeding and watching them but i couldn't have one in he house
'evening, ladies
Rescues -- there are a few I have seen online locally, but currently dealing with some health issues that have to resolve before I can more ahead on that. Hard to get a dog during the school year because of teaching; but really want some companionship because Tom's hours keep him away a lot.
hello welki!
Hi Welki
there are probably rescue dogs that are used to being on their own at times, problem is, being recue animals, you don't know what thay are use to
true, lil, but i can honestly say i've never regretted a single rescue animal we've taken in
my spelling sucks at the minute
Neither have i welki
precisely -- I can pretty well tell from meeting an animal if I am a) allergic to it and b) if it will fit our family's needs... but I have to be well enough to make that visit. Our family has generally found the right dog at the right time when we weren't actually looking! LOL
<-- thinks you can tell a LOT about a person by checking out how animals react to them
Some of the dogs actually have pretty good histories, and if they have been fostered in homes their temperaments are known. :-) I am hoping we can afford the fencing and dog door in early August. Then I will have some time to set limits and routines before I am off to school again.
true, that welki!
Thats good Stid, and especially a dog door when you're all out
precisely. If we'd had a dog door three years ago, Lucky would still be with us. So this time... it's a must.
i was at the vet yesterday, picking up some food for one of my dogs and there was a gal there having her puppies checked out - 11 cocker spaniel puppies!
oh my! that's a BIG family!
Majority of my cats have been rescued
they were english cocker spaniels - so beautiful
Jees!that's a canny number, especially for cocker spaniels!
oh, spaniels are beautiful, but my memory says they smell strangely -- metallic, almost, to my nose.
the one i was velcro-ed to smelled like - nothing :)
:-D
Cocker spaniels aren't as much work as springer's as they are very energetic
brb
springer and brittany spaniels are super high energy - they're like the Tiggers of the dog world
lol, aye you're right there
did you want a puppy welki?
Saying that, i think anyone that see a puppy of any kind wants one
we've always had dogs (and cats, and rabbits, and guinea pigs, and hamsters, and parrots, and lovebirds, and canaries, and budgies, and hermit crabs, and fish, and turtles, and frogs...... i think that after these dogs go, we might not have any more animals
oh - i see what you were asking. did i want one? i always want one, but i have two dogs now and that's plenty
(no more additions to the fish tank either)
Metallic Stid? i think they smell of damp when they are wet and alot of caring and drying of ears .
... and finches! that about covers it.
Well, the welki menagerie must be a glorious sight!
so you haven't had many animals then welki!! :)
it was - just the two dogs and fish tank now
years from now, someone will dig up that far corner of the back yard
the bairn wants me to have a guinea pig and i'd love one but not with a cat that chases everything that moves!
thanks for the chat, stid and lil - laundry buzzer is about ready to go off. 'night :)
I put the bird in "his" room (my office space) in his cage... he was acting like he was tired. I think he was disappointed at being put back there, though I can hear him eating so maybe not.
And they'll think it's jurassic Welki :)
oh, that could be a challenge, lilliann!
sweet dreams welki
Night welki, tc hin, thanks for the chat
Any animal that has food will be happy.Does he make noises through the night stid?
no, once his cage is covered, he's quiet.
He is a nice bird, just dealing with a lot of change and no way to ask questions or get answers about why he is where, or why people come and go. Like a child, an animal does best when life is mostly predictable.
ahh bless him.
Yes, animals have to deal with lot of change too, and your right we can't speak to them in their language
true
isn't it very late for you lilliann? three in the morning or so?
we never think about animals in that way.we re-home them and think we're doing a good thing but we don't know what they've been through before only some details at times, so we could be doing well for them or not
It takes a while for an animal to learn to trust their new people.
It takes a while for a people to learn to trust their new animals... ;-)
oh bum, so it is!! :)
LOL
i'm not normally yup this late now.i went to bed at 10.30 last night and slept for 4 hours and then woke up every hour after that
wow. That's serious insomnia!
I need a few more words and then i will go.It's just nice to catch up with people i haven't spoken to for a while
I have earbuds and listen to music or tv shows all night long to help me sleep. Otherwise I just cannot calm my mind. I am down to 49.
about to list
That's why i don't normally go to bed before midnight
UN 6 if you have it?
un 6 - to not lease out an apaartment
LOL got an AARP "invite" in the mail today... guess now I am officially "old"! (American Association of Retired People) -- but I am easily 20 years from retirement!
un and tenant
oh gee, thanks teach!
and lilliann :-)
My clue sucked.I went to sleep!!
Hi Teach
hello all
sleep is GOOD, lilliann!
I guess if you're here teach, that you and your community escaped the worst of the flooding?
I was thinking about you all week...
yes, we are about 2 hours north of the flood area - it is the counties in the southern part of the state that are really devastated
thanks for thinking of us
Glad you are okay -- sad, about the devastation, though -- WV was such a lovely place to visit when I was a child.
the eastern mountains and the northern part of the state and the to panhandles are basically untouched
Oh, how sad, i hope all affected are ok.
23 died in the flooding, many schools, houses, stores were totally destroyed - bridges and roads were badly damaged - power was still out for many even now
everything that was not destroyed is just totlly covered with mud - they were just showing a tour through one of the schools and how the line of mud goes up to the bulletin boards in the classrooms and along the lockers - books tossed about the rooms
so sad, people were caught unawares and got trapped by how fast it all happened.
those poor people.I just don't know what to say.My heart goes out to all who lost family and houses and schools can be replaced but not when you've lossed possessions that are personal.
that's how I feel, lilliann -- there have been several events in the last few months that are so big...
geez! why can't these giant grids appear on my days off?11
after something so devastating - where do you find the strength to go on - to rebuild
It's been like that in Europe too Stid with the bad weather
hey Jen
Just flew in to finish, and have to jet out again to finish nightime routine, and then hit the hay. But...

Hi JBs, stid. Hope all is well with you.
could use help with the RE 7/8 at the end of the list?
Oh, Stiddy, you are very familiar with having to "fix" a paper or article, or blog entry, or chog chat!
re pens something

TY, origami, going great for me - been at new job since February, and DH just started his new job this past Monday. God is good!

I knew you would. Feeling kinda fishy?
Glad things are well!
Hi origami

Hi lil! My hounds are begging for play. Back in a bit.
Oh, I hear you, and my empathies!
GN, origami, I'll be checking out in a minnit...
see you again soon origami
down to 15... help on the UN 9?
Sorry to see sad news in the chog re: WV, and hoping for the best for those affected. And happy to see my Babble friends and fam, even if just for a few...
Finished!! off to bed. Night all it's been great catching up! take care all.
((JBS)) happy to see you, too -- I keep hoping to be online more since it's my vacation, but I manage to get caught up in so many things (mostly going through boxes) right now.
This was in a previous grid in just this last week. It would describe a dirty operating room.
un and germ free
congrats, lilliann
hmmmm..... *thinking *
Good night, lillian, sleep well and stay sleeping all through the rest of your night :), yay for FW.
YAY lilliann! so good to "see" you again. Be well.
And **FW** for me too, whew.
Thanks all.hugs and good wishes to all

Yah, stiddy, boxes eventually need to be opened!
TY all (takes a bow), ha ha, you are all funny.
LOL
RI, and a the better part of the word for a grading period for a school year
RI, *and* the better part... stuck that lone 'a' in there by mistake. Tired hands typing.
*thinking*
oooh -- a new word for me!
Also, if you hit the side of your drums a lot, this could be a sideways spelling of what you would be called...
LOL
ruru should be here, he would pun it much better than that!
What else can I help you with, stid?
fi 7/8 would be good, please and thanks!
Oh, I like that fi7, and the plural - a noun for the
oops, sorry!
knobs, buttons, bells, whistles, ropes, chains, all the stuff on a ship
okay, *thinking* only three left...
The first three letters are the beginning of what a bride gets for her wedding dress before the wedding day
The last 4 letters end the word that describes the baubles you put on a christmas tree
okay... still whipping monkeys! also looking for the NE 6...
Go, stidmama, go!
got them!!!! you are a stellar cluer!
last one....
FW!!!!!
that last one was FISHY
Whee, STIDMAMA!!!!!
Woot!
Love it! I was going to say 'having more fishing equipment'
yeah, stidmama
thanks for the help -- there were some really tricky ones today
who wants to help with 195 words?
I did well with the potato word on the top, and the legal word on the bottom, but it took me several times throughout the day :)
*smiling*
Oh, JenMO, I would, but tomorrow will be here in an hour, and I have to get up in 6!
LOL
oh oh JBS! go to sleep -- I got you covered! :-D
Jen, I can clue in between watching the movie Tom cued up for me.
Hmm, let me suggest Lickety! or MoreWords, or Angelsongs page for links to word lists.
Or Stidmama, yeah, she can help, she's all done too!!
What movie, stid?
I am using more words right now, I don't need help, just browsing!
:-D I'll dip back in in a few, Jen -- and the movie is from 2005, "Robots"
Jellen, don't think I didn't see you back there, hi, and good night!
Hi, Anno!
Enjoy the movie, stid, and may all your words come flying right to you, Jen! Good night all, thanks for the chat and the fun! *poof*
thanks, jb and goodnight!
anyone still here?
I am in and out...
I need a clue for the bottom middle r for NBT
found one! NBT!
Hi again. Jen, I was trying to clue a word for you & you must be hanging out with peri lately; you found your word before I could clue it! :-)
hanging out with peri?
perialways asks for help and finds her word before anyone can clue it
oic
go jen go!
hey nef
hi stid! I was here for the early afternoon; then thought I should got do some work around here....
8 more words to hit 100!
ooh, you know that is a four-letter word....
How are you doing this evening, (Jen & stid)
I know, stid, but if I don't do *somethig*around here nothing gets done.
doing okay, day off tomorrow and a 7 hour day on Friday before the weekend!
What kind of work do you do, Jen?
I open mail for AIG insurance
nice to have extra time off!
I am doing as much work as I can around here too, Nef -- I think this allergic reaction has resolved into eczema. So... now dealing with that (haven't had an episode of it for decades!). Slows me down...
Are you enjoying your summer, stid? (speaking of time off...) ;-)
They have great benefits, I do 10 hour days, off on Thursdays unless it is a holiday week then I work 8 with overtime when available
But I made it through today with no antihistamines or hydrocortisone, so definitely doing better. Will resume those tonight before I go to sleep.
Is KC the corporate HQ for AIG, Jen?
Olathe, KS is the "hub" for AIG\
Corporate is in NY
stid, the allergist I see told me that if you have allergies and asthma, then you will also have eczema; that they are triad for allergic people
But there is talk of downsizing the company and some 1200 have been let go since Jan.
Ahh, I see Jen. "down-sizing" sounds scary though.
I wish we would get rid of Manila in the Philapinnes, they aren't doing a very good job!
as a company, Jen?
yeah -- it was just a matter of time. Now I just need to figure out the trigger -- suspect citrus.
yes
stid, one of my allergies is citrus & wine within 24 hours; I'd really have huge welts and difficulty breathing. We discovered it when we had some sangria one night. :-(
I can have citrus or wine all by themselves without any problems; but can't have them within a day or so unless I want problems
that is very odd, Nef. No wonder we could never isolate some of my sons' triggers.
I have been sensitive to limes for several years (makes me mad, I LOVE limeade!); not entirely sure how much this is due to what -- but definitely want to get "through" this one and then figure out so it doesn't happen again any time soon.
Hello Bugs!
hey stid. I hope the heat is not too much for you
hi all, diving in
hi bugsaw
allergies can be really odd sometimes. I remember a guy (when I was young; he dated my cousin) and they did allergy tests on him & he ended up being allergic to 99 out of 100 things they tested him for.
waves to Jen and others here. I need a clue for the first st 5,10. I can't find it anywhere
100 words!
a heart vale assist, bugs?
that can happen when you are allready having a reaction and your body just decides to reject everything.
I also wondered if you can have a reaction to things that are normally fine but not if you have them in large amounts. Colin had to go to hospital for adreniline shot once and the only thing I knew about was that he had eaten the better part of a box of Mandarin oranges in one day.
yeah -- allergy tests are still in their infancy, really. So much still is guess and check.
temerities is my phantom
hello gwen
Wouldn't have thought that word was in your "vocabulary" gwen -- you seem fearless! :-D
it was the heart valve thing, stid. Slap me with a fish if you can do it and not get caught
thanks stid 8 - )
I'll let you have that one, bugs -- my last word was ne 6 -- terribly fishy!
calling it a night with 113 words, see you all tomorrow!
sweet dreams Jen -- have a great tomorrow!
thanks, stidmama
Hi Bugs & Gwen (I'm not And I think that you are correct , Bugs, about amounts of the allergens. It's like if I brush the cat every day (she no longer lets anyone else do it! -- she's about 16-8 years old & getting picky in her old age!)
good night Jen
I do fine if I keep her brushed, but if I don't brush her every day, the dander builds up & I have problems
night bugs
Niters, Jen!
good to know Nef. My daughter in love is coming next week and she is highly allergic to cats but not mine for some reason. I brush them every day so perhaps that helps.
I guess it's the dander that most people are allergic to;
I am that way with some things -- but with cats it's getting harder and harder to tolerate. Also birds -- there are a lot of birds I cannot be near anymore. :-(
how's the kitchen coming along, bugs? will there be pictures?
stid, are there any birds you can tolerate?
finito! I can now return to the kitchen project. The floor is going to be installed tomorrow so I have to repair the last wall. Happy Babbling everyone
wtg bugs !!!!!!!!
YAY, Bugs!!! WTG!!!
yippe for floors bugs and YAY for FW!
ment
element, my new phantom
Tabitha's quaker parrot is here most days, and I appear to tolerate him pretty well -- although it is possible that coming home last Thursday night back into the birdy atmosphere helped trigger this nonsense.
nbt finally, with 82 to go
I am going to have to insist that the bird stuff get cleaned up and stay clean -- or unfortunately the bird will have to go. :-( Which will be bad for the bird, but I cannot live in a house that has dust of any kind.
go gwen o!
GO, GO, Gwen!
stid, I really think that that is important for your health (keeping the bird area totally clean)
Yes -- I have requested (twice now in the last 24 hours) and nothing has changed yet. So ... I guess I will have to be the "heavy" again. Tom willingly cleans and makes things right, but in things like this I have to be the squeaky wheel. It gets old.
I definitely HEAR you on that, stid.
BTW, who is Tabitha?
ne 7/28 clue please?
I don't have it but am looking Jellen
Thanks Nef! Not gonna finish...watched a movie instead.
More like a seine
thanks tor, I got it a minute ago & was trying to figure out how to clue it.
Thanks tor!

A friend who stays with us many days of the week because her work is closer to our home than hers. It's her bird. :-)
LOL ruru!

I'm afraid I need sleep too; good night everybody & Happy Babbling!
I am fading fast... going to try to get to sleep before 11 for a change. Have a great Thursday, all! *poof*
