Now, "C" here!
hi, nan
hey all -- yay lickety! down to 48 here.
hi stid
FWs
Need one tile... the O on the far right? then I can list in good conscience. LOL It was so warm down here today, I think my brain melted.
YAY grannie!
homer wrote'm. this would be the adjective.
stid oo 6/24

too busy yawning to think -- see you tomorrow
sweet dreams nan

sweet dreams melon...

<---found the 7.. now smug
good morning all
hello sprite
hiya ru :) How's life?
today ? today was nice for me
good to hear.
how are you doing after your surgery now? still improving?
yes, slowly but surely. Am down 30 kg, have now hit a kind of plateau. But it will start going down again soon.
no more diabetes medication! That is a great improvement
that's fantastic in this short a time isn't it? good for you
I am on my plateau too
in a year. It is not a record or anything, but it is nice. I prefer it to losing 60 kg in one year... it is good if you can adapt slowly.
and feeling good, ru?
yes.. I just wish it were easier to drop pounds.. it's harder at my age
low carb and lots of exercise?
i'm doing low carb.. lots of exercise is the issue
yeah that isn't as easy as some make it sound. You need to find the time and the drive, and your body has to be able to do it too.
phantom: coyote
fw and off to bed, need an early night tonight!
wtg flosey, and sleep well
good for you flosey.. i'm missing a stupid four
Congrats, Flosey and hi all
hiya Liz :) *hugs*
Hugs, Sprite. How are you today?
a bit too much pain the last few days. But otherwise I am splendid! How are you and your beloved?
We're both well.
good to hear. How are the whales?
Pain isn't good.
They're around but when we've been out, they've not been too active. Always see a lot of them though.
it is always a challenge to find the right balance... do enough to exercise, but not so much that you are in pain for 2 or 3 days and cannot sleep from it. Wish it were a constant... but one day I can walk twice for 20 mins and no problems, the other only 1x10 and hell.
it must be really amazing to see them so often
It is difficult not knowing what it's going to be like from day to day.
yeah. But, as they say here, you can grow old with it, so no need to complain ;)
It is amazing. Every time we see them, I still am as awestruck as i was the first time. We'll go out again this week - probably on Thursday or Friday.
one day I will come with you guys
That would be so amazing. You'd love this time of year here. Clear blue skies today, about 23 C at the max and no humidity.
sounds heavenly
Though from what we saw on our walk just before, the ocean was pretty bumpy today! Not a whale watching day for us!
I don't mind bumpy seas :)
And why did it take me so long to find the whale in the grid!
I hate bumpy seas :(
ah, that is babble blindness
And why did I put an exclamation mark instead of a question mark?
uhmmmm missed the mark?
bumpy seas or humpy seas?
(small pun on humpbacks)
:) Love the humpy seas
bumpy seas full of humpback whales
hehehe snap, ru
thanks for baleen me out sprite
I bet the whale watching boats make a krilling out your way liz :D
any time, ru :)
If they fluke it and see any.
And confirming it would breach confidentiality!
*grins*
mostly humpbacks out your way liz?
do you see Blues or minkes in Aussie land?
I saw a blue once in Monterey .. it was amazing
Mostly, yes. Occasional Minke whale. Blues are further out on the continental shelf.
That must've been awesome. Wow! Would love to see such a huge whale.
sprite reading your babble dicitionary ~ and I am a clurker, I guess.. or a profile reader!
hello gemini :) Nice!
I have no idea how large it really was.. but bigger than a boat for sure
Have been some or4s apparently but I've never seen one here.
Blue whales are huge! Our humpbacks grow to 16 m on average.
i was hoping to see or4's on my trip in BC.. but it was too early
But we also see tiny, newborn calves - well tiny compared to their mothers.
I thought the or4's were permanent around Vancouver Island. That's where I saw them.
we dove with humpbacks in Hawaii though. .at Molakini Crater
wow you guys have had such amazing experiences!
not sure if I spelled that correctly
Very jealous - would love to do that. Not supposed to dive with the whales here but some people do, when they're spotting turtles - nudge nudge!
we didn't have a choice a baby whale came to check out our group
One of our whale watching crew "fell" off his boat once, when there were humpbacks around.
hehehe
Amazing!
momma came later
I guess the highlight for me is seeing Migaloo twice - he's the white humpback that swims past here.
Not albino because he has brown eyes but totally white apart from that.
(dem italian greeting, grrrr)
my highlight was diving with whale sharks.. enormous
We have them here - never seen one though.
Thanks Sprite!
that was at point reyes for me.. total luck
always miss that one
that was my last word sprite
Got to go. 36 left to finish later. Catch you again soon Ru. Hugs, Sprite.
glad I am not the only one
Congrats, Ru.
bye Liz, have a lovely evening
cooee and g'day from me
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend, how are you doing?
flying high... lol. feel so "normal" it6's almost laughable.
am so glad. You were due a good ride :)
how's the old bod'? still giving you much grief
yeah it is being beastly atm. Can't sleep.
awww special {{hugs}} for my bestie. are you more settled with Caya's new life-style?
yeah I am fine with that. She is enjoying her new house so much.
fireflies
WTG SPRITE !!!
i need the challenge of the larger grids.
wouldn't mind a bigger one either. Over too soon, this size :)
what are your plans for today?
get my room ready for my first nail clients. If all goes as planned, I have 4!
woohooo!! way to go. i bet you are excited.
I really am. Rob finished fixing my table. I can start now :D
that's such good news, sweetie.
doing fun stuff, making people happy and generating a little income along the way. Can't be anything but great.
*giggle* you sound so happy honey. and about time for things to start going your way. xoxox
I am feeling happy indeed. Things are starting to work out the way I want them to. At last ;)
am gonna make some coffee and then start on the heaps of paperwork. Am gonna throw most of it away! *hugs* and have a lovely evening, darling, and an even better night. Enjoy the good times! Oh... did you schedule a new appointment???
hmmmmm, good night sprite....*ducking under the table*
for crying out loud! Rose! Schedule it!
<------- fingers in ears...... la la la la la
*plops fingers out of ears and exercises stern mama look* Sche. Dule. It.
tomorrow honey. i absolutely promise.
you better. Do it. Be good to yourself, ya hear?
Schedule what?
<------- suffering from domestic deafness. don has put it into his phone
new appointment for the infusions. Rose is in agone every time she needs a new one. I told her to schedule it in advance.
good man, Don!
hey ya ruru. my next hospitalisation for an infusion
agony*
well, that is my cue, lol. *hugs* to you both.
i am thinking of booking for 8 weeks, and if i don't need it get the clinic to rebook for the following week.
{{hugs}} sweetheart. try and take it easy a little. xoxox
Sounds like you should plan them out
it's a little difficult. sometimes they last 12 weeks, sometimes 6-8 weeks.
Maybe every 9 weeks then
it's trial and error. but if i book before i need it, as i said, i can always post-pone it for the next week.
time for me to go. {{hugs}} ruru. catch you later, alligator
Bye

Why do we get these punishingly tiny grids on weekends?
The grids have been right puny the past few weekends.
Maybe some of us like them.
i dont
I like big ones on the weekend that don't involve to much work :)
*too
me too sukee. have more time on the weekends
However you like the grids, large or small, comments on the size of the grid are not meant to offend anyone. Someone said yesterday that they "like the challenge of the larger grids." I agree.
Sweet relief here today, the killer humidity has gone down.
We complain, but we still love this game
I would like to put in a request for some sweet relief. Yesterday's heat index was 112.
It felt that way here too. But a storm pushed it out of the way.
Still sticky, but much, much better.
humidity was 93% here yesterday. rains, then gets worse. .not quite as bad as where you are molly ! but no ac in main lobby at library , so its pretty bad
Speaking about complaints about small grids on the weekend; when you're retired, there is no weekend
Okay, need breakfast, got down to 15
lol.. i was retired, went back to work..
with help of the list
Good morning, everyone

morning all
mame
luv your icon godthaab....that was my nickname in college!
Good morning
hi car!
ca6/24(I have the spore one)
Parallel Fifths Can Kill You is a long nickname : D
well I was a Theory major and it was written on a small staff so it looked shorter than it being written out.
I had a stamp made of it and signed myself with this when writing letters.
My nickname was just "Parallel Fifths", Molly.
ec 7 /40, pls
Sounds like the financial system killing itself.
ty Molly
or environment
I thought of both, but decided to use the financial system because sometimes clues are not understood.
Or killing yourself in the back of the plane
have felt like doing that on some flights...;-)
or killing oneself by constant screaming in the Alps........
Alas, poor Yoric. Good morning, all.
yodelocide?
right hero!
:D
hego, I wrote it correctly but It was changed by auto-correct, so sorry.
Yes, auto correct has made me a hero. I'm used to it now.
well....nurses are heroes to me!
:). On behalf of all nurses, I thank you.
urvw....
hello friends. 88 words? That's not going to help much with "task aboidance!" hahaha
avoidance....
Hiya, Trif. How was Ireland?
:)
absolutely fantastic judi. It feels surreal now - did I really go to Ireland?
So glad you had a good time. Did the kids love it?
hi folks, help with lone O and lone i
they real did! Group dynamics proved a bit tricky, but we all survived
found the lone i
my two had been before, many times. their respective love interests had not been before, and watching them see it for the first time was really fun
And got to see Soodle!
Ooh. Babble bonus! Can't swing a stick on the planet without hitting one of us.
still need left column O pls
that was so amazing....I wish we had had more time. I suspect a week to chat would have done it. She is an absolute treasure.
did your respective love interest go too trif?
no ruru. He just started a new job, so not in the cards
oh.. that's too bad.. would have been a good experience with the kids
the funniest part was me driving....
And by funny, you mean scarey.
half the time I just made it up. because we kept crossing between north and the republic, half the time the signs were in MPH, which did me NO good, as our rental car only showed KPH.
so I just drove like a bat out of hell and we all hoped for the best
eek!
Imagines Meat Loaf in Trif's speeding car
pretty much
And on the wrong side
lol! My sister-in-law got into a car accident when they were in Ireland. No one hurt, thank God. But, the one country not covered by their rental/credit card insurance was Ireland. Ended up costing them about $5K out of pocket.
oh dear! Glad we avoided that!
I don't think I'd drive in Ireland.. i'd be too chicken
It's not easy, Ru.
especially the round abouts.
Clockwise!
the GPS was incredibly helpful with that, hego. it would say "enter to the left" and things like that
Great!
I'd love to go to Scotland myself and hope to some day
Going soon, Ru
It does take a while for the brain to adjust. We had that experience in Bermuda. Ah yes, round abouts. Defying death, attempting to exit, all while speeding in a circular motion. Fun times.
do you need anyone to tote your bags hego?
I was completely and utterly impressed with Tertiare's beau. I know him, of course, but this is the first time we spent extended time together. he is a complete gentleman. Carried my bag, ALWAYS a please and thank you, a wonderful young man. Every single relative we visited made a point of pulling me aside to say how wonderful they found him. When we got home, I received a handwritten thank you note from his parents, thanking me for giving him the opportunity to travel with us. CLEARLY that apple comes from a mighty good tree
Bill does it, Ru. :)
damn
sounds like she picked well trif..
Polite, respectful and useful. You've been aced out, Ru.
Loves Trif's use of the word "beau".
the one thing about the trip that I found a slight bummer is how generic the world has become. On our day in Belfast, the kids could have eaten at Subway, KFC, McDonalds, Five Guys, etc. All of which exist here at home. That's not what I am looking for when I travel, you know what I mean?
(yet once again judi)
nah, ruru, I am sure you are just as lovely.
I do a really good Hoke if needed
Yes that is a bummer, Trif. You have to ask the locals where to get good taters & neeps.
(but that would involve calling Hego "Ms. Daisy"
Ru is lovely. But don't tell anyone, he likes to keep it quiet.
LOL I call my mum Ms. Daisy when I drive her around
<--does a really good morgan freeman impersonation
I already knew, hego. I love me some Ruru. Torgone has my heart forever, but Ruru gets the silver
torgone is very, very funny
Bye folks. Have a good one!!
Ta, hego!
bye hego
Torgone is missing the love fest. He should be here for this.
Yell "tits"
Ha ha! Think I'll pass.
How about.... BOOBIES!
lol....like Beetlejuice...
Anyone have a clue for the Ca6/24?
oh I have that....it is a technical term for teeth with cavities, past tense
*blank stare*
ok...im so bad at cluing. ca+ anagram of ri4?
Monkied it. Ty.
whew.
Yaaaa! heatwave is over for now. An amazing 21C (just over 70F) today and sunny :)
count for lone o in left column, please?
OO6/24.
I need the 2nd Co5/16.
I haven't listed yet, but the one co5 I have looks like this ,
think pig call, judi
one who goes onstage to make people laugh
and the latin version of ","
Ty, kje. Fireworks!
woohoo!
hi crossy! Guess what??? I bought a chain saw! There will be NO stopping me now! hahahahaha
not sure if it really is, but it clues well that way
omg! Trif with a chainsaw!
huzzah for judi!
its the sexiest thing ever, crossy
redecorating the bathroom? lol!
nah...in a storm a tree in my yard split, and half of it has been hanging precariously for MONTHS. I got a quote of $1200 to lay it down from a tree company. I said a BIG "no effing way!" to that, and bought the chain saw.
how much of the base is left. can you save 6 feet of the stump?
Driving on the left, using a chainsaw... it's a mad mad mad mad mad world!
Thinking about going the Farmer's Market, but it's so bloody hot out.
What we do is cut off broken tree at 6 or 7 feet--if possible. then there is a local fella who make amazing totem poles out of them for a small fee.
its is still a huge tree, crossy. it split about 12 feet up, and the half to the left is still going strong
judi it is too hot to MOVE today!
70F here :) I will send you cool Georgian Bay breezes...
It was too hot to move yesterday as well. I did some inferior decorating. Covering over the corners of a chair that my cats scratched . Faux pony hair with nailheads. The half I finished looks pretty good, if I do say so myself.
a dj on the radio said the funniest thing the other day - people down south are laughing at us northerners now, (oh, was it 95 degrees for two days in a row? awwww) they way we laugh at them in the winter (aw, did it snow two inches in Atlanta? awwww)
well done you, judi! that is not an easy task to do well!
My brother laughs at us. they get periods of 114-118 F at times but they have 6-14% humidity also. Kind of like an e-z-bake oven ;)
Well, it's just the corners. About 18" x 6" on either side. About a $30 project.
Chair was in too good shape otherwise. Couldn't justify throwing it out (or taking a chainsaw to it).
he was up here last week, and sad the 90F felt nice...
yes, the hot weather today is REALLY Interfering with my chain sawing plans.
Off to do some chores. See you kids tomorrow! *POOF*
bye judi
it is a quick thing--as long as you do your cuts correctly
I'm still learning, but I am having fun
Use a three cut, directional cut and you can lay it exactly where you want.
morning
morning jes
Ill practice crossy, I promise! I am mostly cutting down striplings too big for the lopper. not really too heavy duty, other than that monster tree
well that was ... timing. Soon as I started here the emergency phone rang. Off to work I get.
On the side where you wish the tree to fall, you cut inward about 30% of the depth of the tree. then on the same side you go up about 8-12 inches and cut downward at an angle to match the depth of the first cut. remove that pice. lastly, you go on the side of the tree away from the cut, and cut straight in to meet the first cut on the other side. then stand back. Some tree will "kick out" the base as they fall.
oh no!
oh! thanks crossy!
That way you do not bind your saw
Good for larger trees
what defines larger? more than 8" diameter?
12 inches and over give or take
I wont' be doing anything that big, but I will retain the info! thanks so much
in other news - going on college visit number one with tertiare tomorrow....cant believe we are starting this! my last one is fledging.....
I was never that good, but i used to watch the pros fell them between houses!
trif will be a mess!
I'm a mess just thinking about it
You will need a hobby to take your mind off it. hang gliding, skydiving--something with a nice solid fear factor involved.
chain sawing.
lol
lol. You can learn to make chainsaw totems!
Lots of how-to vids on Youtube
Then you can do ice scultures in winter
sculptures
hi all. any clues out there for the 7? ty.
you guys living in the yukon?
the clue someone else gave for the 7 was killing the earth
I don't have the 7 yet

It amazes me how they keep making these TV programs..who on earth keeps watching that rubbish!
I completely agree. it's banal and stupid
And yet people keep watching them. That is the banal stupid part.
I just don't get it either
what about big brother and-worse-celebrity big brother
I look at the 1st celebrity one and think who the heck are theses people!!
The same, Deeha aweful TV including the only way is essex and geordie shore.
ocar
oops sorry
yes i totally agree zoom but they have been going on for years and on and on....!
Almost, Deeha :-)
Yes they have..I love comedy programs like only fools and horses..Classic!
Here id another thing that really peeves me!I am watching and loving the olympics. But there are people who have 'served their drug ban' anmd are back ad some that have been banned TWICE and they are back. what is going on?Get caught with drugs banned for life is what I say - not a tap on the wrist.
I agree Deeha.I don't know if you watched the swimming but there was a chinese guy who was banned for 3 months as he took a heart drug that is banned becuase it helps something or other(basically a cheat drug) if he has a heart problem, fair enough but there is no eveidence given that he has and to be honest, if his heart is that bad that he's not drugs for it, i don't know how the hell he can swim at the speed he does!
good morning/afternoon, everyone

I have 2 ca 6's, Marc.
Do you know how many points each has?
And I think Molly is still signed in but not here right now. You don't have to apologize to anyone for asking for stats or clues (no one else does).
Yes but she always asks be why I just don't go to the list. And she has a good point. But I try to get down to 15 left before I go to the list.
If found the ca6/24
We all play our own way, Marc; there aren't any rules that anyone has to follow other than not to post words in the chat box.
thanks
What are the stats for the other ca6, please?
I usually don't go to lickety until I'm over half way, & I try not to use more words until I can't see any words at all.
the 2 ca 6 are both ca6/24. Did you say you had a co 6 or was that a mis-type
