oh i love TNG, for sure
but MOVIE wise, their movies are fine but don't necessarily stand out as classics. the show was based a lot more on character development, so it was less suited to a feature film format

Florence was hot and sooooo crowded last time I was there
In 2014, we had a hailstorm in Florence and another one 3 days later in Venice.
we were in both a year ago september -- Venice was the more croweded at that time of year. Lots of great museums and galleries in Florence though if the weather is bad.
I prefer the mystery and romance of wandering the streets and canals, especially at night
I'm glad we went to Venice just for the experience. We spent 5 days there and have no desire to return.

there were so many little details about this office that i like + wouldnt have thought to ask about as a first-time parent. you can tell they know what theyre doing.
instead of a sick waiting room, they just have lots of patient rooms. no one is in the waiting room longer than 5 minutes.
y have lactation rooms so you can nurse/pump before/after your appt.
they have already built sick appts into the doctors daily schedules so it doesnt usually throw off the scheduled appts.

their records are all medical so you can visit either office without an issue.
you can schedule appts up to a year in advance.
I like to learn how other practices manage things.
between the 2 offices, they have some sort of hours 7 days a week. their hours vary on different days so they can offer early and late hours.
they have a nurse line that is staffed all day that you can call for free -- because it is staffed, it doesnt pull nurses away from other tasks. and you can call after-hours for a fee, but they waive the fee for the first few months of your baby's life, or if they end up telling you to go to the ER.
We are soon to transition--oldest partner will retire in the next year, a PNP will retire in June, a PA is likely to retire in the next 1-3 years (mentally she has retired), we are hoping to sign on a new MD in a few weeks, we are looking for a new NP...
We do not charge for after-hours phone calls, in fact we PAY a triage service to take calls for US from 9pm-8am. I wish we could make the parents pay for phone calls but about 1/3 of our population is Medicaid. We are a rural practice--high poverty rate.
they explained that the reason they charge is for after-hours calls is to encourage folks to call during normal hours. the after-hours line is really intended for emergencies, which they dont charge for.
Just yesterday 3 of us were talking about the challenges of trying to educate uneducated parents that already think they know everything.
I wish we could do that, Eva. We get ridiculous phone calls--questions about Tylenol doses, diaper rashes, whether to send a kid to day care/school the next day, etc...questions that can be answered on our web site or by our triage nurses the next day when the office is open. I agree that if parents had to pay then they might think twice...or run to the ER because with Medicaid the cost is FREE!

I kind of grew up in the same situation as they did and had to live with my grandmother a while...i really get what they went through
They boys start at a new day care next week but just 2 days weekly. Mondays they are with mom, Tuesdays and Wednesdays they are with Dad (and Grandma) and Thursday/Friday they will be at day care.
Isaac Asimov also wrote some short story detective themed tales...which are pretty good
