yeah it is in south holland, one of the dutch provinces. Provinces are like mini states. Den Haag (also called 's Gravenhage) is in Zuid Holland.

Not all countries observe DST and not all of them change their clocks at the same time. Wikipedia has a list of countries that observe and when they change their clocks.
So odd states here in the USA aren't the only ones who "spring ahead" with DST, then?
interesting fact, France used to be on GMT. The timezone was changed during German occupation, to align with German time, and was never changed back. So in winter we're an hour ahead of the actual solar time, and in summer 2 hours ahead (but it makes for great long evenings)

As far as I know, all states in the US except Arizona and Hawaii observe DST
And yes, it is confusing for people who frequently travel in and out of Arizona.
TQ, my friend in Indiana told me a while ago that they don't change to DST, &, as Molly said, AZ doesn't either (I didn't know that Hawaii doesn't do it

OOPS! Indiana has changed to rules; now ALL of Indiana changes their clocks to DST also (it used to be that part of the state didn't switch their clocks
The pets don't follow dst when it comes to feeding time but then they don't follow weekend layins either

You just have to open the fridge here the guineas start oinking and the bunnies come running into the kitchen
TQ, I've got relatives in western Montana & in the past we'd drive there every 2 years to visit them. The time zone changes near Bismark, North Dakota, to the "Mountain Time Zone;" and my kids would always ask "Where are the mountains!" (we'd still have half of North Dakota and half of Montana before we'd even see mountains!

baby K has been sick for several weeks (though he is FINALLY on the mend!) and also cutting teeth on top of that. plus we have both been sick on top of it, so sleep has been a rare commodity in our house for a while now! DST was just one more thing to deal with. happy to report i think we are FINALLY on the other side of this hurdle!

a first birthday is usually a family event - so if I usually had contct wwith her and was not invited I would be hurt - but if you usually do not have contact (for what ever reasons) then it is a different situation
We ended up having separate parties for friends and family for my daughter's first...never do that again, too much work :)

@suefrad625, I had this situation when I planned the shower for my brother's baby. The only people that received paper invites were the great-aunts. All others (cousins, aunts, grandparents) received an email invitation. Surrisingly, it was the cousins who had complaints about it, despite email being our main form of regular communication.
