im ok -- TGIF. lil man is having SUCH a hard time sleeping + its wearing on mama. we started putting him down before 10:00 last night (10-10:30 is his usual final-resting bedtime) and he was still crying + fussing at midnight. daddy finally took him in another room because i was almost in tears. :(

my parents came up last weekend to give us a good night. and our good friend (or as i call her, "the third parent") has basically lived at our house every weekend since hes been born to help out. she is an ANGEL.
hes generally good during the day + most of the evening. usually he can get to sleep fine, then wakes up constantly throughout the night. but last night, he wouldnt let himself fall asleep...
have you tried some soft music in his sleep area? Or a soft light in a shade other than white light? Probably already suggested to you though I am sure.
we play white noise at night + also have a noise machine that plays a little lullaby. i believe teething is the main culprit, but he wont take any teething toys. we have finally started giving him a dose of baby motrin at night to take the edge off, but i really dont want to resort to regularly medicating him. its time for sleep-training.
yeah if he is uncomfortable he is probably just reacting to how he feels. I was always a fan of that lavender baby bath stuff too for babies. a nice relaxing scent and opens them up when sick. Even a baby massage. Sorry I don't want to be a buttinski lol
oh, im not one of those people who minds advice, so long as its well-intentioned. :) i can choose to take it or leave it!
he is actually overdue for his bath...right now its only once a week, unless he needs more. and we usually do wash-me-wednesdays, but time got away from us this week, heh. so i think hes gonna get a freshen-up friday instead!

i admittedly have issues with having my sleep fooled around with, so this is particularly hard for me. and on top of that, in addition to the usual motherly response of hating to hear your baby cry, i also have a touch of misophonia, and baby-crying is a trigger...so it makes me really anxious and stressed.

I have definitely been where you are right now. I adored our rocking chair. It relaxed me and babies! lol Would close my eyes and kinda meditate and rock. Please know you are not alone though. A lot of ladies go through this.

i know, lorena. and that helps a lot! ive been debating calling my OB to renew my zoloft Rx that i had right after he was born...the lack of sleep is hard + im debating if that would help. (but i dont like to medicate myself any more than i have to either!)
Chewing sounds really bother me. Didn't know there was a name for it.
When my children cried it would make me break out in a sweat, but that's a natural response.
It might help you but do what is best for you. I understand not wanting to medicate yourself. I don't know if you have tried taking 5htp. It helps with sleep a lot. Basically just the ingredients in turkey that zonk you out on Thanksgiving.
I remember thinking I was a horrible mom for how I felt with crying. Got brave and talked to my lady friends and my mom.
thats how i got on zoloft the first time. i KNEW i wasnt feeling right. i didnt really need anyone else to tell me -- marched right to my doc + asked for it. but it did help so much knowing how many of my friends went through the same thing -- and no one talks about it! i had no idea they had gone through it!
id prefer not to get back on it again, but i will if i decide itll help.
No people don't really talk about it. And we should talk about it. Supporting each other is easier when we can relate.
i have so many friends with kids + never once did any of them mention those feelings. i made a post on FB one night and EVERYONE came out of the woodworks. i was stunned! i knew it was normal to feel that way, but i had no idea i knew so many people who had.
Nods. No one wants to admit our moments of "weak" feelings. we all want to seem like super heroes. lol But those feelings are like you said very normal to feel.
i guess ive never had that problem -- im happy to announce to the world that im not perfect + need help. :)

... worn mine every day since December 28th, 1957 ... a day which will live in infamy ... the one good thing about doing chemo therapy is it can improve your eyesight to the point where you don't need so strong a prescription ... but that seems to be wearing off ... and the bifocal nature of these things makes them expensive to replace

i am... glad my husband is far, and out of touch... and also very sad, both for me (it wasn't what i had intended, even though it's right for me, and i've gone through a very hard time since separating, with my mother dying) but much more so for my kids, who deserve better.
This has been so costly & time consuming, but not going to change my mind. Know alternative is not any better either

mine wants to cut ties (as far as i know! he started this, filing for divorce with an $1800 retainer he borrowed (but i don't imagine he's paid back) from his dad... and then his lawyer needed more things from him, and then more money, and he got annoyed and fired them.

i believe he will agree that we've already split the marital assets. i hope. because i have assets now that i didn't have when we split (all inheritance, none comingled with anything shared with him).

what i am hoping is that he doesn't get an attorney. i might try to use a... not an attorney? there are people who can just do the paperwork, to help him not feel he needs one.

we had no assets, either, except the house. and we sold the house a few years ago and have split the proceeds from that.
i thought we were pretty good buddies, too. we weren't.
