*hugs rose* I am fine, honey. Survived another nightshift and a day of vacation preparations, plus cooking and singing lessons. Slept well tonight. How are you doing?
lesson*
not too bad. sleeping better. cleaned the bathroom yesterday. took me all day... loll. today have turned the chair-robe back into a chair AGAIN and am going to do some laundry later. starting to gather things together for THE holiday.. xoxox
nice going, hun!
Good morning.
Good morning. *
hiya ruby *hug*
yay.... {{ruby}} xoxox
Here for a quick run-through, then a friend is taking me up to the mountains for a belated birthday lunch.
ruby, i think i forgot your birthday... Happy Birthday dearest ruby. 21 again ??
It is VERY coold here, but, mercifully, no frost and the Wind has died down.
how lovely, ruby
aha, i did forget....*naughty rose* <-----sitting on the naughty step, contmplating my sins.
It was funny, when the nurse came yeesterday, she corrected my age, I haad deducted a year. I'm actually 60, just look old!
don't we all
huh ???!!!??? you mean i'm the eldest of the three musketeers?
(74!!!) doesn't seem possible. Where have the years gone?
I think you are the middle one, rose :D
As long as I take my oxy in the AM, I'm good for most of the day.
See you later, sweeties, have to start my day
enjoy your day, ruby!
thanx sprite. ruby confused me. that's my excuse anyway.
xoxox dear ruby
oh, I already have 2x7 and an 8!
can it be?? less than 6 weeks ?? sprite... darling... this is so exciting.
it is. Can't wait! So far, I have no luck with the cufflink stuff though. I hope I can get some expert interested before you get here.
Hello, Sprite, Rose and Ruby :-)...Sorry blues sky here so decided today will be duvet cover wash day lol.
we can plague the museum when we get there.
ohhhh zoooooz! *hugs* dear man, it has been ages. How are you doing? And how are your parents?
zooz, darling man. how are you?? and how are the parents going?
Morning Babblers
((zzoozz)) I never see you any more and miss you kindness!
Hello Matty
*sigh* or what sprite sa4....
hiya matty! *hugs* How are you today?
Parents are okayish. They have changed dads blood pressure tablets to see if that helps with the fainting. apart from that he is still a pain in the butt lol
In a bit of pain - I managed to throw my back out (back spasm) putting groceries in the car yesterday. I knew shopping was dangerous to your health!
and heeeree's matty. {{matty}} hugs and kisses. will email you closer to our leaving date.
*grins* Well, all good then.
Oh, do! I'm looking forward to meeting you
ouch matty! That is nasty :( *healing vibes your way*
Oh I hate it when I pull a muscle (what muscl i have) I feel for you, Matty!
praying change of meds helps zooz's dad
grocery shopping is a pain in itself
Thanks, Rose :-)
omg... so long as it isn't THAT muscle zooz. would be too sad.
Especially when you find out how much it all costs at the end, Sprite!
so true, zooz.
I hate grocery shopping at the best of times. Though thankfully it's WAY less painful than it was yesterday afternoon - then I was in tears
oh, btw, dear people, I haven't stopped translating my book, it is just a break... too busy atm.
hokay, you all. i need to know just how much credit i need to travel through the western edge of the continent and 2 weeks in UK. ie how much for meals etc. and how much should i have in my purse?
*hugs matty very gently* pain sucks, and it eats up your energy. Glad today is a bit less awful
aww poor Matty. hugs, hugs and more hugs
The UK, especially London, is quite expensive in general. Have said that, most places take cards, even for very small purchases
A pint of beer in London can be £5.00 or more (though less for real ale often, and less out of London)
Hi and hugs all
Hello, Liz :-)
Liz! *hugs* to you and your beloved. How are you doing? Did you have a beautiful Passover?
thanx matty. so how much would you expect. for meals... how much does it take to cook for yourself and hubby. and the cost in a restaurant for about the same food.
Eating out, whilst you can do it cheaper, is usually around £20 up (including drinks, to be fair) per person (at least in the places I go). Of course, it *can* be done more cheaply, but your typical mid-range pub/restaurant is around that
Will look forward to your next ranslation, Sprite!
whoot !!! cartwheels across keyboard... {{liz}} hugs and kisses
To cook yourself is obviously cheaper. It may be worth looking at online supermarket prices (www.tesco.com, for example) to see what the stuff you like costs.
wow, the gang's all here!
Thanks Sprite. Yes all was great. Getting life back to normal now.
Translation*
good to hear, Liz.
thanks, zooz :D
Some tourist stuff here is really quite expensive - Windsor Castle, for example, is around £25 per person to get in (though that does get you in for the whole year)
Having said that, most museums in London are free, apart from special exhibitions
But Windsor is really lovely.
To go by train from my house into London costs around £13 return off peak. You'll want to get an Oyster Card for the tube - I think that's a fiver plus the money you need to top it up for travel
Windsor is lovely (I live right near Windsor) - I can get into Windsor for free as I live in the borough
I think they are charging £5 minimum on the underground so if you only want to go one stop it will still cost you £5.00 so best getting an oyster card.
I think that is more or less comparable with the other countries hereabouts, Rose. Eastern Europe is usually cheaper, but the west is not.
Does not entitle you to free oysters though.
Cigarettes are CRAZY expensive here. But, unlike me, I'm assuming you're too smart to smoke
Sadly, no Zooz!
So you're not far from Kew or Hampton Court. I love those places.
which, in my opinion, is a GOOD thing, zooz :D
i would like to see the sights i have grown up learning about. westminster abbey, carnaby street, madame tussauds.
Not to far, no! I used to live about 3 miles from Hampton Court.
*too
oh and kensington gardens of course
Oh I agree, Sprite. Up to the individual but I could never eat them..just looking at all that slimyness makes me feel ill.
I LOVE oysters
I tried one once... tasted like a mouthful of slimy sea water. Never again :D
<---- points out to zooz. don't look at them then...loll
Or is it spelt sliminess?
Morning all, butting in if you're going to Madame Tussauds make sure you go on Groupon or similar to get 2 for 1
love oysters. not as chewy as mussels.
thanx maisie
yep, zooz, sliminess it is
Ah thank you.
hiya Maisie!
Hiya Sprite
I need to make a cup of tea. back later.
* la, la, la, la, la,* <---fingers inears.. loll
bfn, zooz
Bye Zooz
I'm getting excited about Rose's trip looking forward to all the photos
come back soon zooz.xoxox
*pulls out one of Rose's fingers and whispers 'sliminesssssss'*
Me too, Maisie
it is gonna be a veritable Babble tour
maisie, did you not email me, to let me know whereabouts you live?

sweet dreams peri dear. xoxox
:)
Had to look back for that Sprite, good idea and I hadn't got that word lol
Thanks - looking (again, multitasking so hence the delayed response)
sprite, have found out how well i sleep between pure cotton sheets.
:D
oh how wonderful, rose!
And they were so obvious, once pointed out. Thanks!
yup, have replaced 2 sets of bed linen with pure cotton... sleeping like a baby is a good term.
yvw!
Love our cotton sheets
very nice, rose. Maybe you should let the B&B know?
nah.... i figure i am gonna be so knackered it won't matter.
quite possible. Though we will do our very best not to tire you out too much.
also packing a battery operated fan in my over-night bag.
smart move. Not half as warm as in Aussie here, but just to be sure... always nice to have a fan
i hear you sistah. but better to be comfortable than sleeping on and off.
I should warn you, Rose, our house is a townhouse, over three levels....kitchen on the ground floor, living room and the music room (where you'd stay) and a bathroom on the first floor and then two more bathrooms and two more bedrooms at the top
I think packing is a nightmare. We are doing a trip to China later this year and we have 2 days her, 4 days there 2 days here etc all the way through. Trying to work out a system so my case doesn't end up looking as if it's had burglars
very true, rose. And such a good excuse for bringing all those batteries... ;)
Naughty
matty, funnily enough i do not have problems with stairs.
Excellent! I didn't want you to be surprised :)
Matty I bought packing cubes. They've made my packing soon much easier.
LOL, Sprite!
I am a firm believer in lists. I make lists first. Then erase everything I can do without. And then use the list as a packing list.
Good idea Liz, I've heard of those but never seen any
Also much easier travelling around - saves packing and unpacking. You know where everything is.
honey... nothing will surprise me. besides will be so wrapped up with meeting you i will be floating... loll
May I have stats for an 8? Preferably one that's a 'real' word?
what are packing cubes?
I bought from an Aussie company but the idea came from a friend in theUK.
SPRITE !!! naughty girl... that toy is staying home...
re8/55
re8/55
Google zoo lite Australia and you should be able to find your way to them
What are packing cubes?
also re8/45
Zoomlite
Looking (for the word, that is)
also an unusual te8/40
I am rather thin I must admit.
only real 8 is re8
Packing cubes mean you can compartmentalise your packing. I also roll most clothes and they don't crease.
the re8/55 is a normal word. The other two are less normal
good hint liz. have tried rolling clothes before with good results
Zooz, is that a clue?
Google zoomlite.com.au
Nope they said zoomlite so I said I am rather thin :-)
Ah, gotya! Silly me...
:)
zooz is already lite :D
:-)
let us know if you WANT a clue, matty
bless him
iodite
sorry.
for crying out loud, zooz, how many times do we need to tell you? Valid words, mate, valid words!
May I have a tiny nudge on that re8? I'm finding, whilst looking for it, a load of REs, but not that one...
Bet we all tried it
I was only one letter away from PB lol
And I found it
So never mind :)
lollll asking is finding!
Finally nbt/nbs
what happens when you put on weight you have already lost
true, zooz
And yes, I tried it (though did find a real word as a result)
Me too
iodine
Maisie: I am certain we did, lol!
matty's middle name is peri... loll
And that's the one I found, Maisie :)
oops pb for me
*giggles* see zooz, that is how it is done! Yay Maisie ;)
Heh.
LOL
there are 6 words around that one
Hanks Sprite - I'd missed 2
Thanks :)
yvw :)
I've five of those, so far
I think.
Or maybe not.
Tom
Dick
if I can have io6/18 why can't I put an r on the end
Harry
:D :D
I tried that too, Maise!
I hear ya, Maisie! Stupid enable.
Ha! Sorry when I saw Hanks I just had to say Tom.
*grins*
Phantom: joint
(and nearly PB for me, I guess)
nearly doesn't count. You need real valid words to buy your way into goodies heaven
Heh. Though there is a valid word inside the phantom...
true. Okay, you can enter :D I stocked up on your favorite goodies.
Sprite - just sent pics of packing cubes to you
Okay need to hang the washing out and then be off. Niece to see you all. Have a great Day/Night.
thanks Liz!
Nice even lol
Have a lovely day Zooz
Lovely, thanks Sprite!
think I'd better follow Zoo's example and get some work done, bye for now
Seesya laters!
Have a good day Maisie
interesting, Liz!
*hugs zooz and Maisie*
They made travelling round Tassie so much easier
helps to stay organised throughout your trip, I can imagine
Really did - all trousers in one, tops in another etc
back... first load of washing on.
And because they were rolled, I could see everything really easily
nice going. Gonna wash today too, last rounds of laundry before our camping holiday
rolling clothes for travelling is perfect
yeah sprite. i am trying to stay on top of the washing etc right up to our date for leaving.
I have one last evening shift before we leave, on thursday evening. Glad I planned an evening shift and not a night shift!
btw liz i am totally converted re rolling one's clothes
sprite can you doze on the way to your leaving point?
fireflies
It worked well and if you don't mind investing the money I really recommend packing cubes.
WTG SPRITE!!!
Congrats Sprite
I wish, rose. I can't. We will be traveling in Ruud's truck and I can't sleep with 'strange' people around me. ptsd is a lady dog.
liuz, i use the zippered plastic bags that new bed linen comes in.
i hear you sistah. *wraps sprite in gentle hugs*
These are a variety of sizes which worked well for me but those should work too.
well, off to sort the laundry for me. *hugs* dear friends. It was wonderful seeing you all.
Have a good day, hugs.
hope you have a splendid day sweetie.
liz, dear? i am outta here. blessings, hugs and kisses to you oth.
*both*... sigh
Have a lovely evening. Hugs

TE8 is a pl of te6
Samantha clue the te 6 pls?
. . . . Which is itself a pl of te5

thanks samantha
thnx - got the weird TE 8
TE 5 = Number + two vowels. There are two plurals of it. Of those plurals, one can be pluralised again, for the TE 8
English, huh?
stupid words lol ty samantha
TY Sam!
Glad to "help" though in this case I confused even myself. :D
must have been a good clue because we all got the word - thnx
Eva....hoe are you and the little guy doing?
I meant how
we are doing well! (just updated my icon to a photo from yesterdays walk)
he still had the RSV, so hes still rattly in the chest + has a touch of a cough. but he doesnt act like he doesnt feel well -- happy, smiling lil man!
adorable, Eva! hi all - am bummed bc "rotini" won't work
same here, aloy! if rotini isnt real, i should be a lot skinnier, for having eaten air all this time! ;)
lol, me too!
just finished "earning" the list - bbs when I get some -eek- work -done.
thanx for the update, Eva!
eva your icon photo hasn't changed, at least not on my computer.'

Mother Nature is confused :)

Hello everyone
good morning everyone
Hi
did I kill the chat?
Nope. Lunch time I think
oh - just finished breakfast 1/2 hr. ago here
ahhh. deviled eggs + egg salad -- the best part about easter eggs!
yeah eva it makes me wish i had enough eggs not leftover from the holiday but in general to make both of those things you just mentioned
en6?
never mind
cyber i ate my first meal before 11am
not breakfast though
i will be back....
67 to go - time to list!
mlf -- when I made that comment it was 9:43 pst
or is it pdt now?
my memory is so bad, but I think we have switched
I think we're in daylight savings mode now. I always get confused as well.
lol, harry -- at my age you're just glad to see a new day and hopefully remember what day it is --- scary
hello all. I just remember that we fall behind and spring forward. I never do understand the "savings" part.
I like the idea of not switching times anymore.
this grid needs "throat" to finish the trio.
I like that idea too!
it was done originally to give the farmers more daylight in the morning beginning with spring planting season. Here in Canada the only province that opted out right from the beginning was Saskatchewan -- where most of our wheat and cereal crops are grown!
it's not like we're farmers sending our kids to school
Monsanto owns most of the farms anyway.....
Well there ya go. It's all a Monsanto conspiracy to keep us too muddled to figure out what they're doing :-P
it's ALL a monsanto conspiracy - the whole damn thing. beginning with bill clinton and ending with donald trump. don't drink the water!!!
nbt/nbs and over 1/2way. Gonna go find a new belt and tie for my husband now. I'll be sure to wear my tinfoil hat when I go outside. ttfn!
bye! :)
trump has declared the environment pure -- even in coal country - therefore it must be so -- the absolute ruler has spoken
cyber I had just been back to Babble again and saw the comment is all:)
nois
sorry :

Great day today - had lunch at a farm very high up in te mountains
Nice, Ruby!

Free clue. And I already had that word.
How lovely, Rubes. Was the weather nice?
The house is full of flowers -- from the garden (lilacs and hydrangeas), supermarket (tulips), mixed bouquet (from a friend)
I just love the way she writes--with such detail about the characters and the plots.
Scrabbler - are the books set in the current day?
It's clear and was sunny, but extremely cold and windy
OH NO OH NO OH NO.....Your birthday, Ruby. I forgot. What a lousy friend I am. Profuse belated good wishes, dear Ruby.
No you didn't forget, your wrote at 4 mins before midnight!
Is it cold there?
Yes, Soodle. Current times.
Happy Birthday Ruby!
Did I? It was om my mind all day - then I went to bed & fell asleep. I must have written it in my sleep!!!!
Scrabbler - an uncle of mine spent many years in the Dublin Murder Squad. Det Inspector Gerry O'Carroll. Google him when you get a chance. A hugely interesting guy with a milliom stories to tell!
Happy Birthday, Ruby - it sounds like you did it proud!
I will, Soodle.
FW! - See you all tomorrow, I hope.
Urgh I think I left my keys on the bus on my way home from town. Have phoned all the shops I had been to and the bus station but no joy. Now I have got to try and get news keys cut.
Bye hgk
Happy Birthday, ((Ruby))!
NOOOOO, zooz.
Thankfully I had a spare front door key ina little zip on the arm of mu coat. But I have no back door key or shed key bike lock etc. Hoping my parents still have a back door key otherwise I am not sure what I need to do there :-9
Oh, man, zooz.
Yeah I know...I feel such an idiot and very angry with myself.
zoom...you may want to change locks if you can. I would not want my keys floating around for someone to maybe come in uninvited. Just saying.
I locked myself out of my house about 10 days ago because I left the keys in the car inside the garage. I had to find the small box hidden away with an extra house key.
I did think of that, Smdnjv, but there are no identifying names or numders on teh bunch of keys so they would have to try over 180,000 homes to get the right one lol
Happened to my neighbor. Someone saw him drop his key, picked them up and helped themselves to his electronics.
Nasty person. I hope they got pleny of jail time for it.
Plenty*
so happens they did. They did not notice security cameras on all the houses around.
Ha! good..Glad they got what they deserved.
I'm just glad they did not come in at night!
I am really hoping when I phone the bus station again tommorrow that someone has seen them on the seat and handed them in.
I hope so too. I am sure that will take a lot off your mind and your wallet from replacing keys or locks.
Thankfully key cutting here is not that expensive.
Replacing locks on the other hand is a lot of money :-(
Hope you find your good samaritan and they have turned in your keys. What else could they do with them anyway.
Exactly. But if it is someone who could not care less and just toss them into a feild or bush. Oh well time will tell.
Thanks babble for letting me have my little moment.
Sorry you are keyed up zooz
Now just olock here, Ru! that is not funny : D

Good grief! two cats outside are going hammers and tongs at each other.. The racket they are making i am sure one will have no fur left.
