I wish I could have a glass every now and again. I'm probably one of the few who are allergic. One sip of a drink last night gave me hives
jubi, I get severe hives from sangria. We figured out (that the sulfites in the wine & the citrus fruits cause an allergic reaction in me.In the past, I couldn't even have wine & citrus fruit on the same day. (Another reason to quit drinking for me)
It's much like playing Russian roulette. At first I thought it was the sulfites in wine, then I started reacting to anything alcoholic. I could feel my throats closing up......

I have. But I can't see having any thing again. It just hurts.
Yes, if your throat closes up; do not drink again! I've had a couple of anaphylactic reactions (to bee stings & also to an NSAID medication (like Naproxin) & they are not fun.
Oh my. Have you ever had to use the epi pen?
A couple of times. (I'm also a nurse; so my family -including my 8 year old grandson - all have been trained in what to do & how to use the Epi-pens)
Seems very scary to me.
It really makes me mad that they expire in 1 years these days too.
At the price they are now, outrageous. Have them cuz my son is allergic to peanuts.

Talk with your doc; ask for an "auto-injector" epinephrine (which is generic epi-pen) and they're a lot cheaper & work as easy as the brand name stuff.
