My hermit brother lives with her and my cousin will check on her too. The skin is pink/purple, not open, not tender, not painful. The sore is on the side of her leg where there is pressure on the leg rest of her recliner. So I showed her how to place a rolled up blanket under her calves.
Ok...she will be fine and you know in your doctor brain that she will be fine. Go and have fun! You need this!

Yeah. It's a major downer. However, he is not in any pain. He lost a total of 1 lb. since his annual check-up which was in May. 1/10 of his body weight. Hence my concern.

I'm glad he is comfortable.
Our pets are our kids.
Vet has suggested Piroxicam. Anti-inflammatory which has tumor shrinking ability (in some cases). Going to research that and see if it's an affordable option. If so, we'll give it a try and go for a follow up X-ray in a few months.

Appreciate the love and prayers. He is an ornery old boy (11 years old) who, I predict, will not go quietly into the night. Vet says he will start coughing, panting or have other respiratory problems when the tumor progresses (which it eventually will).
As for now, he is just pissed about the vet visit and is hanging out in my closet, glowering at all who approach.

I hated this whole process when my JJ went through it. I hated not being able to explain it to him. It was before I had my children, so he was all I had. I just held him and cried for weeks.

Norman shall receive extra canned food and lots of brushing and love. Vet says the tumor drains a lot of calories from him. He also had some calcifications in his kidneys and bladder. He was also somewhat dehydrated. So, canned food will help all of those issues. He does seem hungrier lately, and of course mommy is feeding him.
