it is in Amsterdam. So parking is impossible. Train and tram are the easiest way to get there on weekdays. Might try going by car on Sunday, it is free parking then where I have to be.
forgot you live in a city. I only ever use a train to go to London, I use busses round the town sometimes now that I have a bus pass.

I live in a small town, but Amsterdam is close by. About 20 mins by train. I prefer going by car almost anywhere, but not into Amsterdam. The parking there is few, far between and costs a fortune.

i didn't even know it existed before today, but, apparently a pair of french brothers were making a movie about what it's like to be a firefighter, to follow a rookie through his 9 month probationary period, and they were right in the middle of making it when 9/11 happened, and they actually have footage from INSIDE tower 1.

My brother in law does disaster recovery, and had to get from my house to Port Arthur on Friday. That's about an hour and a half drive, on a bad day. Took 13 hours.

You drive around on freeways and see some areas that had flooded, but if you go into neighborhoods, that's where the real devastation is. I'm helping a guy tomorrow who was still going in by kayak yesterday.
BUT....it's hard to get into some neighborhoods because of all the volunteers. Truly amazing and wonderful to see.
