Clues are up
thanks Lickety
ty lickety
Thanks, Licekty
Nan and Flosey, you are right, I don't think to7 is actually a word! Sounds very Valley Girl to me.
Like to7 , eh.
or like, I was to7 confused...
Or like I to7 d my car. ok I'll stop now
I can just to8 that -- really to 8 it (remiind you of anyone?)
Oh Nan you're a BC gal. Me too, west coast.
I don't know how to get the maple leaf up.
click on my account (top right) select Canada as your country and click on update profile at the bottom of box

Scientist, nan

stuck - will finish tomorrow. Good night everyone
good morning all
Good morning, Sprite! How are you today?
*hugs Kam* I am okay. Bit too busy this week, but managing. How are you, and how is your beloved doing today?
must say good night all, too tired, 110 words for tomorrow
sleep well, flosey *hugs* and sweet dreams.
He's doing ok - slept a lot though. He's fighting a broken mower blade that is stuck. Busy rest of the week here too.
Sweet dreams, Flosey
ty Sprite and you have a lovely day
I hope the sleep helped him process the whole ordeal. And you, Kam? How are you holding up?
thank you, flosey :)
Getting back on my feet, finally got several things done today. Last week knocked me flat!
no wonder, that was brutal on both of you. Good to hear you are on your way to feeling better
We both have a 'can do' attitude, it just takes us longer to get going again than it did when we were younger, lol!
lol :D I know that feeling!
Yup, used to take a day, now it takes a few days. So be it, we will push on through!
you rock, honey. *sending heaps of healing and energising vibes to Kam and her husband*
Aw, thanks! *hugs*
cooee and g'day from me. {{sprite}} {{kam}} hugs to you both. missed you all last flip.
*hugs rose* I couldn't play yesterday, bit too busy. Glad to see you now. How are you and Don doing today, and how is the heat?
Hi Rose! *Hugs*
started cardiac rehab yesterday. physio was/is absolutely gorgeous. she completely understands why i have to take it gently. i am willing, however to give it my best shot.
wow, that is awesome. I was hoping you'd get someone who understands your limits.
heat wave over for a few days. thus energised i have been tackling a few household tasks. even did the shopping with don today.
It's so nice to work with someone who "gets it"!
sounds good! Must feel great, finally being able to do something productive again. Such heat is so debilitating.
and the bucket of cleaners etc for the bathroom has actually made it to the bathroom. and there it sits, all forlorn..... lolll
as they say here, it doesn't eat bread, so let it sit until you are ready
kam, pleased to se you both made it through the week. it was a very tough schedule. well done to both of you.
loll... sprite. i hope you are allowing time for you to sit quietly and gater your energy around you between tasks.
am trying to. I very resolutely prioritised Babble today as #1 :D
oh and i heard from mattygroves. she is well. went back to work the day after arriving back in england. i don't know how she did it.
I'm looking at the calendar and planning to postpone tomorrow...too many things, something has to wait. Can't be in two places at once, lol! I understand all about the cleaning stuff being where it needs to be...and sitting. I've been that way all week. Good intentions, chores get done when I can
that is brutal, rose. But good to hear she is okay.
postpone half, Kam!
nah, only 1/3 ;)
kam, once the bucket of cleaners is there, i try to do one part at a time. sitting for most of it. laundry all under control too.
:D
Wow, you're way ahead of me, still have more laundry. But the dirt where we live is like flour - each load takes twice as long as when I lived in a city. Small price for country living tho
I am afraid my beloved is cruising for another burnout :(
the trick is to walk past the chore which needs to be done as if it wasn't there....
oh no, time to slow down?
yeah, he should, but he doesn't.
hahaha, Rose, I'm far too good at that trick. I'm about 3 days behind except for the cat box and trash. I intend to get caught up by Saturday
and my yougest, josh, is in hopital. it seems he developed a pilonidal sinus and it needed to be cleaned out. when i rang the hospital he had just returned to the ward from theatre.
theatre is operating room?
aw rose, poor man. What is a pilonidal sinus?
sprite, try nailing his boots to the floor.... and super glue his hand to a stubby/tinny.
I'm sorry to hear that, sinus problems are too close to the brain
good plan, rose
the actual translation is nest of hairs. it forms between the buttocks. it can be very sore, and all the muck has to be cleaned out under anaesthetic. it is commonly called 'sailor's disease' because they wear those tight, bell-bottomed trousers.
roflolll. kam ....the other end...
oh! An acquaintance of mine had the same thing. Incredibly painful, he said.
the only sinus problems I know of are near my nose and brain, lol! My hubby had one of those cysts when he was 13 - must be awful - he still talks about it every so often
sorry, kam, that was thoughtless of me. how would you know unless you were a doctor or a nurse, or had someone you know go through it.
Good morning all.....clue please for the top right-hand single T....
hiya Flask! te5, scientist, te5 coil.
thanks Sprite....
yvw. How are you today?
oh am not well at all......my carer has given me a terrible old......which in turn effects my breathing.....never mind it'll pass...thanks for asking!
oh how rotten :( *sends healing vibes to Flask, and lots of breathing room*
tvm....
rose is chasing squirrels again...
no i'm not....watching you vewwy carefully
hmmmmm too silently, though! Speak up, sistah, can't hear you from here! :)
no package yet?
no, not yet....:-(
darn it... last time it was faster! I remember being flabbergasted it made it in so few days.
my new word learned for today: fe8. "a priest who was responsible for the sanctioning of treaties and making declarations of war or peace" In ancient Rome, of course.
Firewords, I'm heading for bed! Probably see you tomorrow :) Rose, I hope your son heals up from what I know as a cyst - he's going to need one of those tube pillows to sit on for a while.
WTG KAM !!!
wtg Kam!!!!!!!!!! Sleep well, dear one, and take good care of yourself.
sprite, have you got sw8/75 please? i'm stumped
not yet, I'll help you look
hm, oddball word. Tiny fast thing.
thanx honey. unbelievable word.
I just looked it up. It is actually a bird. A swallow, one that uses its spit to make nests.
interesting, thanx sweetie.
any time :D
fireflies. Fun grid!
WTG SPRITE !!!
can you stay a while? you didn't tell us what Rob was doing to cause your concern re a burnout.
and when does Tim set out for the UK?
well, he has been a bit wobbly for a while. And this morning, I frowned at him and said: "Please take Terra with you in the morning." And Rob started to cry.
Tim has applied and sent in his references etc. Now he has to wait to hear if he will be accepted.
and I just learned it is in Scotland, not the UK! If he gets to go, he'll learn to speak with a burrrrr :D
ahhh, about Rob. what on earth is he holding close to his chest? and good re Tim. i have found an incredible secure backpack for him. no exterior pockets. big enough to take a tablet.
ohhhh he'll love that!
now for Rob. did he explain why he cried?
it's his friggin' job, rose. It is so taxing. Too taxing. And as long as his superiors value him and give him room to work, all goes well. But as soon as that changes, all falls apart for him.
hmmmm, sounds like he needs some Rob time...or Cass and Rob time. no TV, no computer, no phone.
yes, he said he didn't appreciate my frown and reproach. But it was minor, Rose... really just a mild irritation, vented in a mild way. Nothing to get upset over.
and yesterday he told me about another colleague of him who is sitting at home with a burnout. That made him cry too.
Rob could take your concern a little differently. but if he is stressed by work then some leeway is probably necessary which you have given him ten times over.
we'll be going away for a few days to germany soon, canoeing, in a group. He is looking forward to that immensely.
is there no authority he could report to?
yes, I try to give him a lot of extra room atm. And extra help.
not really. He is seeing a therapist, but so far I have not been impressed with her expertise.
you poor things. i wish he knew just how much i care and pray for him. will you please tell him?
I will. The rotten thing about burnouts is, people who are cruising straight for them usually do not allow anyone to even comment on it, let alone suggest action. It is like they have to go over the edge first. And I have seen this happen to Rob several times already. Wish I could prevent it this time... but I do not know how.
hm... maybe I will suggest a week off. For him to spend any way he likes, no chores, no cooking dinner, no obligations at all. Off canoeing, or walking terra, or whatever. He might go for that if I phrase it right.
it's like they are protective of their burnout... like this is mine, don't touch it.
exactly! And of course it is NOT a burnout waiting to happen, they are JUST a little tired and they ARE already doing all that is needed... etc, etc
good for you sprite. it sounds just what the doctor should have ordered.
will give it a try. And plan it well myself, because getting groceries and cooking dinner a whole week, walking terra, and doing my own chores... that won't leave room for much else. Easy dinners :D
slowcooker dinners, for sure. God, I LOVE that thing.
okay, dinner on the way here. xoxox to you both. sprite, plan lots of slow-cooker meals.
lollll, what i said
oh, I have been meaning to ask you. Do you know (and have available there) the vegetable 'belgian endives' or 'chicory' or 'witloof'?
have heard of chicory. can't you source it?
source it?
find it where you live.
I have this absolutely divine recipe for a casserole with this veggie. It is delicious. If you can get it there, I'll share the recipe with you.
yes, we have it, it is a very common dutch veggie.
ooohh thanx honey.
:D *hugs* and enjoy your dinner
hugs and enjoy your day. xoxox
First run through and have exactly 45 left for later.Happy babbling everyone!

It is a type of tuna.
It would have to end in O for tuna. It is Spanish for beautiful.
just monkeyed an li 6/18 -- wondering who dreamed up that spelling
ob 6 and7 are they are pair
yes
7 is plural
The Brits apparently dreamed up that spelling. They never seem to be able to spell words the way the rest of us do
interfering Brits
Or prounounce them the same. Love how they say "ensemble".
I have to suppose that we are the ones who changed it then as they were certainly constructing buildings long before any english speaking people came to the americas
And "garage".
Until tomorrow, y'all...bzz
20 to go and drawing a blank - time for a break
As I understand it, Americans changed a lot of their spelling and language so as not to resemble the Brits.
denying your heritage?
My heritage has nothing to do with Great Britain.
Whether you like it or not, Molly, it was the British puritans who emigrated to America who used the English Americans altered.
oooh -- you're like my son-in-law -- he has a 170 year old memory too :-)
yes jaxxx, but Molly is Irish -- just as my s-i-l is Scottish - and some sins are never forgiven
stuck on the ob 6 and the ol 7 -- clues please?
does it start with a death announcement or publishing of? ob4 that is?
I don't know, but I assume so
same here cyber I cant find it ether
either
ol7 is compound word of aged spouse

il 4, in 4 x2 is 4 and 5 what are the stats for the I word I a missing?
id4
ty again mymuse
mymuse your dog is so cute!
thanks Fan, he's 7 now
great combination for a dog too! I want a cairn poo or a poo terrier not sure which one it is. a cairn terrier poodle mix
Funny thing is never heard of that combo and after we got him met quite a few more, including one in my building that hadn't seen in year prior. They are very sweet and playful.
the appropriate name is cairndoodle
I think that breed mix is fairly common and popular that you have. I mean who wouldn't want one with a face like that!
Trying to picture that combo--
we had a black one, ours looking at pics now of them seemed a bit small but I could be wrong.
My son and I were looking at Shorkies but fell in love with the Morkies.
shitzu and a yorkie?
yes
that is probably really cute too
yes they are.
I have seen those types of dog mix in pics before just looked them up again also ridiculously adorable!
the mixes you and I have been talking about are kind of similar
in looks and size
they're cute too from the pics I've just looked at though their hair will be stiffer from the Cairn side I imagine.
not too bad though
There's a blond "Toto" in my building that I've made friends with that gives me the warmest, waggiest hello.
And the Cairn we knew in the park still plays with the other dogs, though Snickers has lost interest in her and other dogs for a few years now.
I think most of the mixes are cute and sweet based on the ones I've met.
I agree they are happy jumpy loyal dogs
We've always had Bichons. Mainly for low allergenic and good dispositions.
I didn't know bichon's were low allergenic.. interesting
Morkies are as well. There are several breeds, including Maltese, Yorkies, Poodles that are in that category.
They don't shed. They have to be groomed every two months
but they probably love the attention:)
Yep, though I try to stretch Snickers to 3 mos.
r
do you regret it if you do that mymuse or does it seem okay to do?
By 3 months Marco would be one big snarl. It's painful to get rid of the snarls
If I stay on top of the brushing I can stretch it.
lol poor dog bichon
Brushing is a great thing to do.
that Is true bichon
I will be back....
bbl myself

Huh. Didn't look up the definition for that one, Zooz. Never would have guessed it was a fish.

WTG Judi
Congrats, Judi!
Hear we had a blue moon tonight but by the time I had heard that it had turned golden again
Also heard at 6.30 tomorrow it will be blood red. an I be bothered to set the alarm to see it? It will probably be raining by then!
Ours will be in the early morning hours
Hi all - we missed the moon too. Cloudy and rainy 😞
I thought that it was supposed to be blood red this AM, but when I got up to see it it was behind my neighbors' trees & I couldn't see it
When we had the eclipse last August, it just got slightly grey

yw :-)
Good morning all and thanks, Une.
hey liz!
Another lovely dog in your icon.
yes . . . so many . . . and they're all adorable! :-)
Do you have to travel far when you transport them or are they all within a reasonable distance?
each driver takes one "leg" which is usually around 75 miles
Not too bad, i guess. I don't know how you do it. I'd get much too attached to the dogs.
keep in mind that they're all going to approved fosters or adopters -- they're not just randomly "riding the rails" :-)
back in a mo
I realise that. So they go to loving homes. Our neighbours fostered a dog last weekend - a lovely dog but it barked all night so they didn't keep it. Sad. After all the dog was in new surroundings but on the other hand, it did disturb our night and theirs.
Fireworks. Have a good day / evening everyone.
