apart from old age creeping up on him, Dad is doing just fine. old arty ritus has come to call on both of us. had a bone density scan last week. upshot is that my right hip bone is softening. i have to be very careful and not fall over.
This time of year causes my rheumatism to flare up in my fingers - it's the transition from cold and damp weather to warmer (and still damp!) weather. Still, these are the things in life we have to put up with once we all get past 30 I suppose
probably the same for us both. but i must say, i think the days of running up and down extension ladders are rather behind Dad. i simply cannot make him understand he isn't 50 any more.
It's best not to try, Mum - us men don't take it very well when we come to the realisation that we're no longer puppies haha
Simon and Josh have both offered to help him out... but oh nooo.... he is too stubborn for help... *sigh*
When I was younger (and more ignorant I suppose) I used to joke that I couldn't wait to be old so I could go into a home and have people take care of me. Now I'm creeping towards my dotage rather rapidly I realise that was just a folly of youth. It's amazing where time goes

Well that's a matter of opinion - it depends on what I've learned haha To be honest though the biggest lesson I've learned in life is never rush into a marriage with somebody just because you THINK you're in love (I was 20 and very ignorant of life) I just wish I'd met Di 25 years ago
totally understand, worzel. i did love my first hubby, it was his behaviour i couldn't tolerate. stayed for 17 years then caved in. Dad, is really my soul-mate in every way. non-abusive, mild on the language score, does have a short wick though, but i can handle that. most times it is just the drama... loll
Yes, us men really are drama queens, it has to be said. Di and me have such a connection on every level. We're both mad about each other, both swear like sailors, both laugh at the same things and are both totally devoted to each other. Mind you, it does help that we're both as mad as an asylum full of lunatics
