ok, but tired. He was dozy most of the day. He is bored, and I think he has a headache - overheard him talking to a friend...but when I ask, he's "fine."
men... sigh... ;) I guess being tired is not weird after all he's been through. Maybe a day of dozing and being bored is just what he needed
Well, he's down for another 5 weeks at least - not supposed to bend over even if he drops something. I have to stay super alert, and I know once he really feels better, it's going to be tough to keep him from doing things. I just want him to be healed up, but I think he understands the importance of following doc's orders.
I am sure he does understand, and yeah, it is hard to follow such orders once you start feeling much better. But it is too precious to waste, he knows that for sure.
Have you heard from Rose? I hope she's doing well.
not yet, but did not expect to yet either. First day of infusion, she is out for the count, I bet

I wasn't sure of the timing since she's on the other side of the world from me.

OK. If she has 3 days, she'll be out for a bit, and then we'll be back for round 2 of surgery - 5AM Monday, ugh. I'll be glad when that is over and we are home safely. I'm concerned about driving when overly tired.
could you go halfway the day before and sleep in a B&B?

We're going up Sunday, it's the drive home I'm worrying about. Getting up at 4 last Monday did me in, and this is a shorter surgery and outpatient. So, as soon as they take him to the OR, I have to go load our stuff into the car and check out, then wait for him to get released. There's a nice hotel across the street, which makes it convenient.
I just have to knock myself out early Sun night!
wouldn't call that convenient, lollll, more like a desperately needed help in a dire situation

The hotel is listed on all of the online services, but shows no rooms available - we called in a panic about 4 weeks ago - I guess they show sold out unless you call and say you're a patient. It is very nice, and the cost is more than reasonable. We got our reservation for Sunday when we checked in last Sunday. No problem.
and if you should stay another night?
It *was* nice being able to park and just walk across the street to see him without driving and messing with finding more parking. Parked Sunday night and didn't move the car until I picked him up Tues afternoon.

We could, but the animals are home, and he will want the comforts of home after another surgery. I'm not even bringing that up, even though I thought about it. His comfort is #1 right now.
I understand completely. But safety is very important too.
I know! And if I feel 'off' at any time, I can always pull off the road.
