I shouldn't complain, really. DC is a great place to live. Free museums, geologically stable, no forest fires/major quakes/mudslides/rare tornadoes, great healthcare. It has everything except affordable housing and traffic-free roads.

The Metro is riddled with problems - poor management unfortunately. Ridership is down as a result. You should come visit next April when the cherry blossoms are out by the Jefferson memorial - that is worth seeing.

personally, I believe that Hannah is a kid as she says....she gave her actual name in the chat once....i googled it and it came up as a 14 year old high school girl in the state she said that she lived....she is impulsive, somewhat attention seeking (as are a lot of kids her age) and she appears to have problems staying focused....i think she made some mistakes and made it worse by using the Sudoku ID to try to fix it....she had originally registered with that ID....when people called her SU, she said she was reregistering with an ID that included her real name, Hannah...If people don't want to talk to her, ignore her....but if she asks for clues, I won't ignore her....if she does something stupid, i will ignore her....

ty tri. gardening helps have done a huge pot garden..tomatoes.. peppers ...cukes-zuchini-squashes-and lots of other stuff in large pots lining the drive and the sides of the house.. enough to feed walter 11 and me and the rest of the family and my friends and a few neighbors too and the local food bank

remember that anger is one of the stages of grief cos.. everyone stays at the stages for different lngths of time.. and sometimes the go back a stage or two. MIL has to work through this too

After my son committed suicide I was as devastated as you are, cos. We had a humanist service as we are not a particularly religious family. The man who took the service put it like this: Think of the death as a huge rock blocking your way. It seems you can't get past it but over time, and no-one can say how long, the rock moves to the side and eventually you will get past it and live again. My son died in 2005 and it has taken me all that time and the rock has finally moved. Allow 12 months before you make any huge decisions as you will not be thinking clearly at first. Meanwhile you have my condolences and my prayers.

no harp.. sign language in any country is pretty similar in a lot of ways so its easy to pick up

I must admit I'm quite curious about ASL/FSL grammar and syntax, as chatting with deaf people can sometimes be very confusing.
and its interesting in deaf culture it is ok to ask about ur rent or say "Omg you gained so much weight" it is acceptable...deaf people are blunt.
That's part of what makes it intriguing -- you learn to think differently when you have different syntax
I am a completely different person in Hebrew than I am in English.

LOL! I forgot I've done most of the work on the newsletter already! Good Grief! This has been a long & stress filled 2 weeks for me! I stayed up quite late several nights and worked on this newsletter; I just didn't realize it all made sense until I read through it & corrected grammar & spelling and such. Just needed to attach the email list; & now *that* is off my back! :-D
(of course, now I'm getting 2 postmaster notices saying some emails didn't go through....) :-(

I have pretty bad edema so although walking and using it isn't too bad, I have to keep it iced and elevated. So I watched seven Star Wars episodes today.
I also went to an aerobics class, and although I had to be careful I was able to do 80% of the exercises.
I have compression socks too. If it turns into a long term problem I'm going to buy some snazzy ones.
7??!! wow! I have a bunch of snazzy compression socks; I love them!
I guess it doesn't hurt to wear them on both legs, even when only one is affected.

Okay, something that *might* help is this: first get your hips & knee warmed up doing knee bends and knee to shest types of exercises. then very gently (like you're barely touching the skin) massage your foot & lower leg towards your heart. It's called effleurage It may help; but it may not. It does feel good, however.

My left leg is the one I had the OTJ injury & 3 subsequent surgeries; and then had a knee replacement 3 years ago. I used to wear the compression socks only for work (before I retired); but now since the knee surgery, I were them every day. I have some with wild stripes, paisleys and then several pairs of black socks with some embellishments
Do you have any idea how long I can expect the edema? I feel like it's slowing down myability to do range of motion and walking
