good morning all
Hi and hugs Sprite.
*hugs* sprite! Hope all is going along well ;)
*hugs Liz* Hello dear one, how are you and your beloved today?
*hugs Kam* And the two of you, how are you doing?
I am good. Slept like a baby and feel a lot more human this morning, lol.
As ever, we're fine. Hope all's well with you. With you and your hubby too, Kam. Hope he's making good progress.
Bizzy! He's working the polls tomorrow for our election. LONG day for him!
Sleeping "like a baby" is so great! Glad you got good rest.
oh wow, interesting though! I hope he is having a good time while doing it.
He really enjoys doing things that need volunteers, this year they asked him to be "inspector" (no clue really) but he has to be in charge of several people and take the ballots to the county after the polls close. He's gonna be wiped out, but he loves doing stuff like this
good to hear, Liz.
That's amazing, Kam. Good for him.
he may be wiped out, but it will also give him energy.
Thanks, Liz!
Oh yeah, it's good for him, gives him back his sense of "civil duty." He worked for the county until they ran him out b/c of his PD, yet he still volunteers
he must be a wonderful person, Kam.
I think so! He has a huge heart
:D Those are the best guys. We are lucky, all four of us... rose and you and me
So true.
I know I'm *extremely* lucky - this man is very special...7th anniversary coming up next week.
I realised once again how incredibly lucky I am, when I was at family constellations last week. Several people telling about not wanting to go home, because at home they constantly had to be alert and didn't feel safe or loved or even wanted. When I come home, there is a warm hug and kisses and someone who even makes me dinner...
yay Kam! Make sure you scratch eachother's 7-year-itch ;)
Awww, that's sweet! I love having him cook!
That's lovely - and congrats for next week, Kam.
This year we've been together for 15 years and married for 10 - can't believe how fast time flies.
Lol, oh yeah, Sprite. We've been together much longer, but married for 7
I know, time does fly!
Rob and I have been married for almost 22 years now... together for 2 more.
amazing, isn't it, Liz? When you look back, it seems like nothing.
Completely amazing.
hi all, we're coming up to our 57th anniversary in August - It's been a wonderful marriage with 4 super kids and now I'm heading off to bed was late coming in after bridge but l03 words so far, be back tomorrow to hopefully finish
That's wonderful Flosey. Hope you've had a lovely evening. Sleep well.
WOW, Flosey! 57 years is amazing! Congrats! Sleep well.
thanks Liz and Kam
wooooot flosey! That is wonderful too! Sleep well, dear lady, and gentle sweet dreams
and Sprite - and now to sleep
44 left here. I'll be back later or tomorrow to finish. Hugs, all.
have a splendid evening, Liz
Hey, I just found me in the grid, haa Night, Liz, take care

*grins* okay Kam
hiya hursh, how is life for you?
cooee sprite, liz, kam, flosey, {{HUGS}}
it's... interesting
ouch. Interesting... chinese curse, isn't it, may you live in interesting times?
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend! How are you today?
lol
okayish. early start... yes, ANOTHER one. don's procedure today. turns out he has diverticulitis, undiagnosed since childhood.
what is that?
the bowel develops 'pockets' along the wall of the intestine. all good so long as nothing, ie food, gets caught in them.
the diverticula can become inflammed, infrected, and even rupture, causing enormous problems.
and if it does? Inflammation?
ah, right. Not a good thing. Can they treat it at all?
treatment is predominantly diet, but there a few drugs which can help. we are waiting for the official report to reach gp who will very likely call him in for a 'discussion'.
Oh, geez, Rose, that sucks. He's had issues for a long time then. I just got an odd diagnosis Friday, will email you two. I've probably had it for 40 years, now it's an issue, and repair is "cosmetic"
well, better to know and find out how to live with it as best as you can... did he make it through the procedure okay? Seeing how highly unpleasant it is?
cosmetic as in, it does not really solve it?
yeah, all was good. i was most afraid that he would cough up his airway while under.
No, insurance doesn't cover it. But it will have to be fixed if I'm to feel better.
that sucks, Kam. Always so expensive, medical stuff. I just found out I have to pay almost 1000 euro myself for my psychiatric treatments :( No idea where I will find that kind of money, and just when I had all my ducks in a row financially.
Hell, it's nothing really personal, it's called diastasis. My belly muscles are split. NOW it decides to hurt. Gaah! Rose, I'm sorry to hear about Don's diag...I know diverticulitis can be terribly difficult to deal with
You guys don't have mental health coverage, Sprite?
that is nasty, Kam.
Yes I do, and I thought it would cover everything, but it does not. They will pay about 3000 euro and I have to cover the rest.
We even have some in the US, even though we have zero dental unless employed and covered through employer
I have to laugh, pregnancy is the cause for the majority of women. My daughter is over 40
but Kam ifit is causing pain, how can it be 'cosmetic'?
oh rose, Caya was briefly home for Tim's birthday this weekend and got her presents from you! She asked me to tell you THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! Her favorite was the cuddly owl :D
I guess limited coverage is better than none...
I have the same thing, Kam, but so far it almost never hurts.
lol.... sprite, i thought it might be.
Rose, I will be making some noise...it is only fixable by surgery, but I really don't want my gut cut open, so, maybe the extreme symptoms from overexertion will resolve if I slow down a bit
what I hate most is that every time I manage to create order in my finances, something comes up that swings it out of control yet again. I so long for peace in that regard.
It never hurt until 10 days ago, so I asked the doc. What can I say, I know it's been there forever, but hurting and cramping isn't supposed to come with it. I'm calling doc if I'm not better in a couple of days
Hear ya on the finances, Sprite. Our insurance is due next week. But, we worked a savings plan into our budget, so the money is actually there! Yay!
I hope slowing down will resolve the symptoms
Thanks, me too
omg, i nearly swallowed the keyboard i yawned so hard... loll

162 words so far. What slimy cfeatures?
AND HELLO ZZOOZZ
NM
((Ruby)) the ones that eats your plants.
Ah you found them lol
when l find one in the garden, l feed it to the fish!
Oh I bet they love them!
They eat anything but at the moment they are alldown at the bottombecause the heron comes for a meal every day.
Chez Ruby
I was in the garden yesterday and when I was weeding the robin that lives very near by came right next to me and was picking insects as I was weeding! I was amazed at how tame it seemed to be. i think it was gathering food for its little ones.
Oh yes the heron ould have a feast if it manages to get one of your fish.
That's so cute! l think they distinguish between friend and foe
l'msure he getsone every day. Some of themat over a foot long
No wonder it comes back on a regular basis then, Ruby!
How are you today, Ruby?
sorry for typos; l'mnodding off even though it's only 10:30n AM
Ah I thought something was amiss. No worries, Ruby, you nap when you feel like it!
ldon't mind because there are many fish and he is a magnificent, bold creature
Sometimes he stands next to the pond and looks at me
I love the look of herons I tried to get a photo of a couple on a nest but they did not seem too keen on it and stayed away.
Probably waiting for you to tell the fish to come to the surface so he can have a meal LOL
When he flies off, since l'm on a hillside and he flies down toward the lake, l can see him from above. He is really beautiful and huge
I bought a book last week called 'Best British short stories 2017' Well if that is the best for 2017 geez what a load of tosh. I am not impressed.
And PB for me. sorry everyone.
haha
That would make a great photo, Ruby!
l already had it
l'm not quick enough and just seeing him is a great gift
Looks like it is going to rain here today :-(
Yes I would love that. You live in a beautiful part of France!
lt rains every aftyernoon but ldon't mind; the roses are smiling
hah Yes most plants would be :-)
Well I m=am off to see parents ((Ruby)) Always nice to catch up with you. you have a great day and a wonderful evening! And enjoy the naps when they happen.
And the tomatoes on the balcony are starting to form tiny fruit
lt's a plant and animal Paradise

It's long, but so far, pretty easy
Here for a little pre-work fun. Yesterday's was a nightmare.
How far have you gotten, bichon?
I only have 83 so far. But, just started
l think l just killed a leech on my deck. How is that possible? l thought they were only in lakes or swamps.
sones
sorry
Could have been on the dogs, Ruby. Were they in any lakes/ponds recently?
Or it was a really large sl4.
When l find themin the garden, l feed them to the fish
Good idea!
I wouldn't touch them without gloves
They'll eat anything
including each other
l use a stick, bichon, l'm not that brace. But this creature was disgusting
brave*
Or just salt them. A science experiment that never gets old.
Aaah, the joys of country living!
Vowels completed.

Nice to see [Jethro] Tull in the grid. "In the shuffling madness, of locomotive breath..."
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ F.I.R.E.W.O.R.K.S ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
Little hint. check to make sure you have done all your plurals.
Jethro Tull. My brother loved his music. I thought he was a bit whacky yet I liked some of his music too!
Happy babbling everyone!
My first concert: Chicago Stadium, 1972, Jethro Tull. Learned I didn't really like most of their stuff, but loved 'Bouree' - still one of my favorite songs.
Ian Anderson wore green tights :)

Good morning Ru. Good morning all
hi liz.. almost cocktail time here :D
Just finished breakfast here - love time zones!
Stupid multi spellings of cat sounds. Just spend about 10 minutes trying to find that one!
yeah.. I always get thrown by the miaou one
enable only allows one dog sound
At least only one woof
Snap!
Fireworks
... just checked ... it allows both "woof" and "bowwow"
Definitely preferred this grid to yesterday's. Have a good day / evening everyone.
(breaks out fire extinguisher )
in all the years I have played babble.. we've never had a BOWWOW
... watch for it tomorrow
hi all.
any clues for the 8s? ty
I'm another one that doesn't like the multiple allowed spellings of cat sounds.
... tu7/40 tu 8/55
wow. need a clue for that one. ty doseffing
ou/ 8/50 .... to have been brighter than someone or something
... tu +t5 ... dealing with children's playthings
ty. dont know the ou either.
got the ou word. ty.
ty got tu word. now what on earth does that mean? never saw or heard that one. ty
not even english. weird word and should not be in an english dictionary, nor should many others that they have in other languages.
211 to go
This game is not based on an English dictionary. It is based on a "word list" made by strange people who include some foreign language words, but not others. Not to mention all the obscure foreign currency and alias, other country mammals.
.... I'm sure that if you read a book in advanced linguistics that you could find that word being used ... because it describes a situation common to any number of languages ... if you disallow it then you must disallow all those currencies and tropical plants and animals
... it's a game involving words ... not just words in everyday usage ...
it is what it is... ;o)
... very true
What is "allowed" is interesting in this word list. Some French words, but not others. Merde is allowed (not so well known) merci is not allowed (very well known). I always wonder about people who defend this word list.
i don't defend it....just have to live with it if I want to play the game...
can anyone clue the al 6/21?
... same starting three letters as the al5 before it ... I think it means a person who gives
We all have to live with this word list if we want to play this game. However, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
i have tried those same four letters in countless attempts...still going around in circles....
found it....ty, dose...
as6?
as + not oscar or emmy....
thnsnka
thanks
a + rocky s5
So why do we all want to play this game if there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the word list?
because we are gluttons for p unishment?....
I agree with Pen. Playing this game is like an exercise in masochism.
found a birdie
hello! 80 to go here - going to the list.
All the birdies sing tweet, tweet...la la la
hi harry...
hi pen :)
... phew ... and done ... ... just before dinner is done ... luck to all who continue to struggle ... ... 'til tomorrow
wtg dos!
I play because it's not addictive. Each day I play till I hate it enough to stop. The weird thing is that I come back the next day.
congrats, dose...
well some people are more easily addicted than you are, mike... ;o)
I think I'm conflicted, which may be worse.
I can get addicted if I let myself play too many days in a row. Once I've gotten, say 10 finishes in a row, I want to keep going until I get 30.
Fortunately my life cirsumstances don't usually allow me to play that often.
i just play....most every day...
I'm getting addicted to sudoku thought
ah - the dictionary links are back, and better than before!
Been there, done that
