ac7/32, ca7/48, to7/52
i was SO hoping it was "catfort" :)
haha dean i tried catfood and catfoot
And catfood should be a word.
Hi all! I just got here, but, Sue, catfood is indeed a word used multiple times daily in our household!
nick
kins
cins
cookie, you're typing in the wrong spot
woohoo now i only have 5 words left
Go, Hursh!
are there any A6 words?
no, but ac 7
wait no i am done with 6s so that was a dumb question
what i should have asked was, one A5 or two?
two
How do you find words you've never heard of?
in my case, morewords is a big help.
What is morewords?
same here, rbud
morewords.com
Thanks.
Then I hit the dictionary to find out what it means - morewords has a few definitions, but not many.
you can put in the two letters you have, with a string of --- for the missing letters. you can also use an exclusion list of letters not in the grid to narrow it down. it's explained on the opening screen.
that's of course if you have the letters to start with, which either can come from Lickety's list or from hints here in the chat.
I've not used any exclusions. After I hit the proverbial wall and have to hunt for the word, I can usually pick it out. Unless Lickety hasn't posted the list. I don't list easily, but I usually have to give in to finish.
or from stats, if you're good at it, which I lack expertise at.
I love my exclusion lists of letters, I type in morewords while mentally saying to myself as I hit shift for the ^ and cntrl v for the letters "except for these" which sorta goes with the actions, lol.
yes, I'm weird.
haha, I didn't even know I could do that
We all have our own personal rules for tackling the grid, I'm sure
of course you have to go through the alphabet for the missing ones, sometimes I even screw that up, ha! I keep a running notepad file on my pc desktop named "babblenotes" and change the list every night.
so I can copy it and keep pasting it in morewords.
I also add interesting babble chat bits to the file now and then, like links and info from folks
Sprite has a good list of "Babblets" in her profile. The one that always gets a giggle from me is "hisn" - not sure why, and I can type it tonight because it isn't in the grid.
oh, that is a good one, always makes me feel near to my "hillbilly" ancestry, hahaha
oh, that is a good one, always makes me feel near to my "hillbilly" ancestry, hahaha
don't know why that went twice, babble burp
Maybe cuz my ma was from Arkansas? She had some funny sayings - I was born and raised in Calif
Babble chog burps if you hit the enter key too hard too. I just wish we could edit typos...
yeah, my dad's relatives used words like that, "his'n, your'n" as in "that one's your'n"
Regional dialects are interesting. Since I moved to a more northern Calif area, I've been told many times I have a So Ca accent.
they also said "worsh" instead of "wash" and lots of other odd things. River bottom poor Missouri farmer folks.
worshrags, haha. gotta love it.
granny used to say "well, I swan!" a lot, not sure how that ever came to be. Sub for "swear" maybe?
Yep, Mom said worsh. And Parmesan cheese was "par-me-see-an"
My aunt!
Swearing without swearing, lol!
Dad's big one was "gol-darnit". Funny.
Then there are the ways to call the thing on top of the house, spelled roof.
oops, PB for me
dust it out while you're in there, think it's getting musty. ;)
ewww
restock the fridge, maybe...
man, I have a real problem with (almost) seeing the word "doofus" every time I look back at the grid, lol
I was just wishing for a U, but not that word. I have to laugh at the left turns my brain sometimes takes with grids...and I end up lost in right field...
^^baseball fan

I don't feel bad about looking up the 8 when it is a word that not only have I never heard of, but isn't in the dictionary here
Molly ... to break up cells, with ultrasonic vibrations.
And, Deeha, seven of them begin with kin ...
Yes, when this dictionary doesn't give a definition, I look it up in other dictionaries.
why isn't catfood not a word?

Good grief...how did I miss the boom? Thx!
AEB... very cool. Hardly anyone gets the parallel fifths. I am a music major as well. They were my downfall. I didn't have a great theory prof, and it wasn't until I started teaching that I found a very easy way to avoid them.

Dear Godthab....please forgive me for not getting back to you.....I was on my driving back from the airport and haven't figured out how to Babble(game) and drive at the same time. If there were a safe way, I would surely do it>(LOL). I am sorry you did not have a great Theory prof, mine was great and 99% too thorough. I'm glad this didn't discourage you from pursuing a career in music.
