Well, Hi Spritey!
*hugs Kam* Hello dear one, how are you doing today? And how is your beloved?
We're doing great except for the hot weather keeping us inside too much. He has been so fantastic since his programming! A miracle!
you have no idea how glad I am to hear that! That is so awesome, Kam. Am so happy for you both!
Thanks!
Did you have a good get-away?
I hear ya re. hot weather. Not my cup of tea either.
yes, we had a very good week together.
brb, nature calls
back
hi all, diving in
it is a fun one, Gwen
osmosis is my phantom of the moment
I'm glad you had a good get-away, Sprite! Enjoy the grid, I just finished up...while overseeing hubby playing with his programming device. At least he finally played with it a bit...think he was scared of it at first.
mine is dominion
don't blame him, Kam. It is quite a process. But a good sign he is playing with it now.
try the verb though, Gwen
hey, it worked! ty sprite
Yes, I was happy he messed with it...he now can cut his meds more, which was one reason for doing this whole thing! See ya next flip! Have a wonderful day, ladies!
Or night...
*hugs Kam* sleep well, dear one.
nbt and nst and 74 to go
yvw Gwen, and good job!
nbs that is, thanks
*mumble mumble that freakin' on the ocean word again*
fireflies. Fun grid to play. *hugs* to my friends, and a blessed day and a peaceful night to all.
night and congrats, sprite
25 to go, night all you lurkers
sorry for red boxes, put word in red box do it again and it goes in
Omen
Oh sorry.
Just started so will take that word. Thanks, Jhb :-)
Bonjour!
((Ruby))
Bonjour, ruby
hello all
Hello, Peri :-)
Hello Peri
((zzoozz))
Weather here has been beautiful with temps in the 30cs
Here, too, perfect. Cool enough at night, sunny and hot (not in the house) in the afternoons.nnl love the heat; if l ever complain, hire somebody to shoot me
l'm still thawing out after that awful winter!
I never complain when it is hot weather. The reason being it never stays hot for long enough for me to complain lol
Yes me too, Ruby. I am just starting to get over yet another cold. That is about four this year already!
Your tomato plant should be nearly have ripened fruit I would of thought, Ruby?
There is one tiny red one, but about 60 others getting ready. Wbat a pleasure; the garden (and deck garden) are constant sources of joy!
l am very lucky
Nice! pleanty of tomato soup and salads for you.
Zoom have you tr ied taking Zinc to ward off the cold germs?
lt makes up for the failed figs. There are more than ever before but they rot without ever ripening. l think, though lovely, the ree is sick
tree* Hello Molly
You need an arborist Ruby. I love trees. I think I was an arborist in a previous life.
I do take a multi-vitamin tablet that does contain zinc in it, Molly. I think with my sisters children when I see them at weekends they seem to bring all sorts of bugs home and I tend to be catching them from them I think. Even though I am trying my best not to catch anything.
Shame about your tree being sicck, Ruby. Nothing you can do to get it sorted?
l thought l had hired one, but after one day of activity, he hasn't been back!
You might want to try an individual Zinc supplement. I find that whenever people come to work coughing and sneezing, and I load up on Zinc, I am less likely to catch what they are "sharing"
Perhaps he thought it was just a one day work, Ruby lol
I would seek out his competition, Ruby
Zooz: make everybody use hand sanitizer, one bottle in every room and try not to touch the children!
Will get some, Molly. i will try anything to stop getting these colds. Not been like this before. Or I might have to bite the bullet and get some antibiotics from the doctor.
no aantibiotics!!!
Very hard to do , Ruby. One is two years old and wants to play cars all the time. the other two are teenagers. Try telling them to do something and you get a dirty look like you have asked them to kill someone lol
No I agree about the antibiotics, Ruby. I will only have them if I was close to death lol
sarmi
sorry
Damn not a word :-(
haha lthought it was slang for sandwich
I think that would be sarnie.
ahhah
I'm not a big believer in hand sanitizer. Proper washing of the hands is sufficient.
I do wipe down surfaces with Lysol when those who are sick don't have sense enough to stay home.
for other people, Molly, not for you and me. WE know how to wash our hands!
Agreed, Molly. I do use sanitizer that I take everywhre with me for times like a supermarket and I have handled a shopping trolly or the pay machines when you have to touch the glass. You do not know what people have been touching or what they have so I have a squirt of germ kill then. Then when I get home I was my hands.
Yep I am at home now. i am missing the car boot sales from this cold.
Plus no Sunday roast today :-(
Sadly, most germs that will get you sick are airborne, so sanitizer and wiping down surfaces doesn't help much
I am doing pork barbecue in the slow cooker today. It is too hot for using the oven.
And I think that is how I am getting these cold germs.
That sounds lovely, Molly. hope you enjoy your meal when it is ready!
Please save some for me!
Okay first run through and I have 54 words left to find. i am struggling with this grid today.
67 left forme
I only have one 7 and no 8s either. Think it will be a long day at the grid later lol
wow, l just found a bunch of easy little words
I love that when it happens!
but it makes me feel really stupid
Ah but I normally do not tell anyone :-)
And anyway you found them so you are not stupid :-)
Just found another game in the grid today!
Ah I finally got an 8!
If you mean do6, I'm not sure how many people play that anymore. It's like croquet, a game of the past
I play that with my sisters children sometimes, Molly!
They love it.
Unless you live in Miami!
That's good. It is nice to keep kids up on fun games from the past. Jaxx is another game you never see kids playing anymore. And hopscotch. They are all glued to video games.
Oh sorry, it is Jacks.
And Chinese jump rope, and double-Dutch. Fun games.
I remember hopscotch though I never played it. I was told it was just for girls.
Wonder if the babbler Usue is here she would like the QU 6/27 word!
I think it was the babbler Usue who worked in astronomy.
Anyway I am chatting too much 49 left and will come back later to see if I can finish. Happy babbling everyone!
Bye zooz
Zoom, you could never chat "too much". Another player here has the crown for that one. : P
can't imagine who! l can think of 4, off-hand
sleepy, time for a nap
5!
first column I?
Like an acid, but start it with an i
flipper
hi all
tymolly
The other two have to do with charged particles.
I got the io 6/7 from the one you just clued
are they all io?
first column is shirl
??? I have a word in the first column i and I have no io words. I have flipper.
oh the middle I is im 5/12
jmc no idea on the flipper word but I have io 6/7
a dolphin
isn't it chemical related like molly gave in her clue?
I am sure that molls gave an accuarte clue to an i word
the word I have uses an n and the first column is the only one that would work with after an o
in4/4
jmc that is the word I was missing from the first column I ty:)
ar 6/18 any hints?
5 branches of the military - air force, marines, navies and ar****
ar + s4
Maggie end in magaz***
I think that is the lamest clue in the history of cluing.
ty gramma and shirl and fan
yw jmc
yw fan!
have that one
one of the 1st ar 6/18s is what i am missing
haha I have seen worse clues gramma

ty maggie
I must off. . . . bye all

is mi8 a compound word/
?
a verb with a prefix
it's extended from mi 5/6
ty
MLF it is me8 not mi8
does someone still need ar6 clues?
there is a mi8
Establishes The Lame Clue Hall Of Fame, inspired by Gramma
oh thanks Shirlock, will hunt for :)
i got the mi8 but not the me
Me8 ends in ____ Like It Hot
got it thanks Shirlock :)
finally got the me8
I think the me8 is a spider's butt : D
tangled web, Molly?
oh gee, just look at the definition, you mean literally! I thought because you have to circle around tightly to get the word! lol!
It's Sunday and this grid comes SO close to offering us a mimosa....
mimosas count as a juice cleanse these days
ca7?
digestion kje
the best thing to do pastor j when looking for the Me8 is to carapace yourself
is that what the me8 word means?
sorta
how about that, monkeys are smarter than i am
it's the anterior part of a spider
Hence, spider's butt. I rest my case.
And yes, I said case.
I wonder if some spiders are gay?
check out this podcast: https://inquiring.show/episodes/2018/4\n/1/145-carin-bondar-wild-sex
don't remember if they said anything specific about spiders, but it was v. interesting
I can't emphasize this enough.
tinyurl.com
et voila: https://tinyurl.com/y6vs7qc5, same URL for the podcast, about sex in the animal kingdom
I wonder if some spiders have big butts.
I'm missing a d8 ?
Well, the chat width is already blown, but next time.
do8
oh a plural
thank you
missed that little s there
i dont see me 8 or do 8. clues welcome
It is what people in Jersey say before vobiscum Ru : D
what does vobiscum mean
os 6/21, pls
molly.. my dinner came out great last night
what did you make ru?
bichon, its a biology/chemistry term for absorption through a membraine
molly's recipe.. it came out great
ty Sidra
but what was it ru?
Peruvian chicken
wow! what's in it?
cumin, lime, oregano, garlic, soy sauce pepper, paprika (I used smoked paprika)
Sounds yummy
i put some cloves of garlic under the skin to cook next to the meat.. i added just a touch more of lime and cut back the soy sauce a little (less salt).. you don't even need salt with this recipe
the recipe is in molly's profile bich.. my ex came over for dinner and LOVED it.. i cooked a bunch and she took everything else home :D
I don't see it in her profile
oh she deleted it.. i'll see if i can recover it
ty
it should be in my profile now
did you bake it or fry it?
i baked it at 350
sounds really good
it is delish
i am still stuck without any 8s. can anyone clue one of them please? i know one is compound. and one is do. help please. ty.
do 850 a game
me 8/50 me + thus+ a few
i have do 6 24 the game. not sure how to turn this into an 8
do + tinies
i just got it. that is a game? hmmm. ok. well ending is changed from the game. ty.
ty marilyn.
best I could do
me and then thus. what does thus mean? hmmm.
bichon it was good. between the game and tinies i did it. ty.

ty cig

chow **** followed by 2 vowels
and pl
ty marilyn
anyone able to tell me the difference in the me 6 and the me 8? i cant see the 8. ty.
Ru, I'm glad you enjoyed the chicken. I like what you added to the recipe. I will try that next time I make it.
sorry, i mean i have the 7 but dont see the 8. i also have the 6 but with plural it is a seven. ty
also could use clues for any i words. i have only one: the flower. ty.
sorry i have two of them as the flower can be past tense as well. ty.
to mkg the me8 is not related to the me6 but it has to do with a part of a spider.
If mkg gets the word from that clue it is going in the Clue Hall Of Fame.
the i in the center = im5/12 x 2, same with diff. vowels on the end
ok the me is like the Asian staple used in many recipes but substitute the e for the I - that gives you the first four letters. Next when you ask for extra you say " I want xxxx more please"
And the Asian staple comes in colors/flavors like red, green, white and some could use it in saimin - one of my fav's when I am lucky enough to be in Hawaii.
me8 - not you + musical note twice + not you again
sa 6/21, pls
cig just used the sa6 in the clue at 11:51, lol, that's how I got it just now. Resisted hollering about the PB, yay, me... ;p
don't know the Asian staple
ty dan
scuse, please, meant clg, not cig
bichon if you mean the me 8 dan2bit just clued it perfectly
no, sa 6/21, pls
bichon, the whole word is there in the clue farther on. :)
very confule
at 11:51, not the one at 11:47
i can help bichon, can bichon and i have clue for the sa 6/21 please:)?
ty rbud
yw. some tasty Hawaiian food, I'm guessing.
wa 6/42, pls
city in Poland?
ty rbud. Got to look up the deinition of that
wa 6 is a fish
yes, I wondered why it made it to enable, myself.
a real fish? not a babble fish? lol
they call it jewfish too I think
i saw one once in the Caymans
American Fisheries Society has changed the name of that fish to goliath grouper, to avoid offense. The origin of that name is likely not complimentary.
well.. we seem to be floundering about on fish terms
good catch, though... :D
Oh my, now even the fish are overly sensitive.
Of course the Philistines may object to the use of the word goliath...
I should probably organize a protest about Black Mollies
hahaha! Mollies of the world, unite!
It takes a special kind of idiot to see the mi8 but not think of the mi6 that precedes it. Several slaps upside the head seem called for!
closing in on 100 without the list, and still only one 7. How can it be? :\
mayhap I should backtrack thru the chog.
last word, ca 7/32, pls
missing one of the 1st 2 ar 6/18s any hints?
2nd ca 4/5 ends like Jimmy Durante's big n...
ty fw
the firsttwo and last two ARs just change last vowels
hmm none are found for me :(
finally took it ty
yay, done!
yay, done!
okay, double yay, then, lol
laters... unless clues needed?

best clued as two 4 letter words. flat topped mountain with different last letter + an indefinite quantity **** but not all..

We could all use one - between the heat and the grid, we deserve one :)
ty again kate
hi all. what is a flat topped mountain? a volcano? i am confused.

ty
