Hi Ruby
Hi liz. How is your water/rain situation? lt is hard to Watch th news; every night brings some new atrocity: Trump; fires, drought, floods
It's very dry here - a bit like Europe. In fact the brownness in Europe reminded me of Australia.
l'mglad to be on my little hill in my little village, but feel sorry for everybody else.
I was reasonably near you this summer - but on a tour, so not able to visit.
The "grass" crunches but the fish androsees continue to thrive.
Next time, try to build in an extra couple of days.
That would be good. Not possible though - boat trip, so it goes at it's own speed.
Not possible this time, I meant.
Rogue apostrophe there too.
Saw some beautiful things though. Pont du Gard was my favourite in France.
l understand, not to worry. My present, though comfortable, isn't much fun. All the adventures are in the past but, happily, well-documents
Sorry that you're not so comfortable right now. Memories of travels are good though.
l love the Pont du Gard; l had an old friend who lived nearby and we used to swim (Wade, in my case) in the Gard.
Our breath was taken away as we walked around the corner and saw it.
good morning a
all
Hi and hugs Sprite
*hugs Liz* How are you and your beloved doing?
l'm much better tan l was last year, but can't travel and would be reluctant to leave the dogs, anyway. Raffie had minor surgery this week and Rufe actally grieved while she wwwas gone, wouldn't eat or drink or come out from Under the hedge.
Still fighting jet lag and resenting it.
Oh - poor Raffie and poor Rufie - amazing that he grieved for her. He must've been very relieved when she came home.
That's one reason why we don't have dogs, Ruby.
lt was sad and touching. He's a very sensitive boy
ugh yeah, jet lag is horrible. Not easy to get your body back into normal mode.
Very true, Liz, but living alone in this big house would be difficult.
Jet lag is worth it though for the fantastic things we see when we travel.
I completely understand, Ruby. If I were alone, I might well get a dog. I love dogs.
indeed :) So glad you had another lovely journey, Liz.
our ro4 is in the grid, I see
It was amazing, Sprite. So many beautiful French villages and fantastic things in Italy. Very much bucket list for me - places I've never seen before even though I lived in London for so long.
Time for me to go - need to put on some warmer clothes. It's getting cooler now and then bread to continue making. Lovely chatting to you both.
wonderful, Liz. I enjoy your enthusiasm, it is catching :D
bye liz, you can dream of dangling your feet in thr Gard!
rahs
have a lovely evening, Liz *hugs* for the both of you
sorry again
clue for the or8 plz
hey movie ma man :) Long time no see. How are you doing?
pretty good sprite, thanks 4 asking
good to hear
no idea for the or8 yet, will keep looking
got it. Or + indicative word for pointing out things at a distance (give me one of *****), plural
or8 starts with half a bone doctor and ends with the pipes used for watering gardens
oops sorry sprite - mine was a stupid clue :D
ty sprite
lol hiya ursh :)
how are you doing, ursh?
ks killed
the clue worked, ursh!
Hi all!
hiya Kam, good evening dear one *hugs* How are you and your beloved doing?
all well here ty - bit chilly but desperate for some rain
I'm pooped again - looong day. He has to go dad-sit again tomorrow for a week. Gonna miss him!
we finally got some rain here and things have cooled down a little. Very happy with that.
poor Kam :( *big hug* for you
Please, send rain!
I'm so tired of heat and smoky air
*sends some dutch rain over to ursh and kam*
bummer, to orgy is not a verb. I want to be able to say we orgied until dawn.
that should be a real word, lol
ikr?
guess you have to have a noun instead of verbing
am afraid so, lol
where else on earth but babble would someone *ever* say what I just did? hahaha
cooee and hugs. {{sprite}} {{lizgirl}} {{ruby}} {{kam}} {{ursh}}
{{rose}}
rose! *hugssssss* my darling. Thanks for your lovely email, will write back after babble. How are you doing with managing the fatigue?
lol Kam
it's ghastly honey. trying to sit and rest as much as possible. legs feel so heavy and achy. took endone this morning and really contemplating taking another now...
Hi peoples...how are youse all????I just finished, but I shot off no fireworks due to wildfires in California. If hubcaps can start a fire, then.... no. {{{{{Kam}}}}}
*hugs jai* All good here. Sorry to hear about the fires.
take another NOW, rose. Please. Do not sit there suffering for nothing.
{{{{{{{Hugs for all}}}}}}}!!!!!
Where are you, jai?
but the good news is... new specialist is hoping a simple medication will help me with the heavy perspiration. i have already taken first dose.
oh wow rose! I hope you will react well to it and it will help you. That is wonderful.
{{{ jai}}}} too scary sweetie. our farmers are despairing of making it through our drought.
Pennsylvania.... I have the opposite problem fro you. We are building arms here fur to too much rain. I wish I could send you some. Truly I do.
*arks
Correctabitch is at it again....
oh, wouldn't it be nice to even out the weather?!!! I'm just sick of smoke and I got ashed good today. My poor car is a mess
hahaha - i have a friend who calls the bitch "Otto"
the farmers to the north of my state, Victoria, have started to sell their sheep and lambs as they cannot feed them, or get enough water to the flocks.
sure would, Kam
that is sad, rose :(
Had a very bad day yesterday. My eye blew up. Guess the aqueous humor splits from eye back at some point in life. And we raced around getting my stupid foot tested for MRSA.
aw jai :( That is not good. How did it all end?
geez, that's not a good thing at all.
awww jai. that's almost more tan one person can bear. i hope the results for your foot come back negative.
Here's to a teeter weather hotter for evening out weather in Trumpsylvania....
*totter
Grrr....
No, my foot is definitely infected. It started draining.
Antibiotic onboard
worrisome, jai
TY granny. I really love y'all. You are such a nice bunch. Wouldn't it be great to meet in some place and par-tee????
Yes, worries aplenty. Been there done this....many times. Sigh.
*prayers going up for jai* May this whole mess pass quickly and fully
it would. Did you know Rose and her beloved spent a week here with us, and we traveled through france for a few more days after
Yes. But I have more worries for Jam than myself. I despise smoke and heat.
Hope the antibiotics work quickly. Sepsis is no joke, gotta avoid!
yes jai, it would be great if we all could get together... so long as the ingredients for sprite's sangria spiker are available... loll
*giggles* I promise, rose. Will provide the spiker.
No, really???? I would have come. I speak le Francis. In peut.
it was hysterical jai. ask sprite about the GPS sending us down a footpath...
yes, for real. We connected even more, it was amazing. Our guys too.
No spikes for me. 37+ years of sober wonderful life...But would enjoy watching y'all amateurs drink....
roflolll... you get to take the pics, jai
Wade and I ended up in the depths of a PA forest thanks to GPS... Giggles.
omg that GPS. A footpad, you know, where even a person afoot could hardly turn around. And we were sent on it and poor Don had to turn the car around. He managed. Cursed a blue streak, lol, but he did it.
oh wow, jai, that is really something. Good job, you! One day at a time, right?
and good for you, jai... i know what hard work it is to stop a bad habit. i gave up smoking nearly 8years ago.
Okay. Pics are okay. Do you remember the virtual hot tub???? We got pretty virtually silly....
addictions are tough to battle, for sure
OMG, Rose, you actually drove a car on a foot path? I hope you realized in time that the GPS was confused! I took a google route once to a concert...and I was in the orchestra...it was a freaking dirt road!
ODAT, absolutely!☆☆☆☆
Jam, what do you play??? I play viola and violin...
lollllll, kam
*Kam
:D I am trying to overcome my compulsive eating addiction. Going to OA meetings and all.
Viola and violin...
omg really? You guys HAVE to meet up!
Hahahaha!!!!! String players are always in tune with life.....
I even have a 5 string violin, so it's both
hahahaha.... are you sure you're not highly strung ??
lol rose!
Say HAPPY hopeful prayers. I have pitched a movie to Imagine Ent., and may have to go to make land for my interview.....
Very highly strung....
mind you, you get to get a strangle hold on the 'neck' of your instruments.
Go to la la land
Happy hopeful prayers, hun, all the way
rose is on a roll :D
Thanks. It's a long shot, but I got an email from The Big Ron yesterday....Truly.
that is amazing, jai. Who knows!
ooohhh, prayers for a wonderful outcome, jai
Really. At least I am finally trying really hard.
don says i am trying..... very trying.... loll
have faith in yourself, jai. Feel inside like it already happened exactly the way you hoped and be grateful for it. Works a treat.
Jam, email me for my phone number. We have got to talk!!!!!
*gently kicks Don in the behind* Pot, kettle, you know the drill!
Crud. The Hitch keeps switching Kam to Jam... Grrr. I am so sorry.
jai and Kam need to get together for some jam sessions.
Otto has a mind of his own
Mozart violin viola duets!!!! Except my expensive viola was stolen, and I don't have $$$$ to replace.
Yes.
bummer, that really sucks. I still have the viola my dad bought for me back when 9th grade graduation was a thing. It's pretty ok with good strings.
Bragging here. I was President of my High School orchestra, no mean accomplishment for a violist. Blush.
I've never had anyone to play viola duets with, so I have learned the Bach cello suites
speaking of names for things... DH used to call our GPS Beryl, my mother's name, as it was always telling us how and where to drive.... just like my mother.... i had to keep reminding him not to say that when she was in the car...loll
roflolllllll oh priceless
Nice!!! I can transpose easily, so I just use violin duets.
I got to share a stand with the first violist from the San Francisco symphony once - he actually complimented me
I love it! Beryl!!!
that's funny, Rose!
Nice! My fellow violet is a Professor at U of Idaho now. I went to see him years ago.
or its other name is Fred..... F..laming R....idiculous E...lectronic D...evice.
Haha haha
Fred is not a bad name for it. Mind you, here in the netherlands it works very well, Rose. We enjoy it tremendously.
Gotta go. Tired . See y'all tomorrow night. Jam, email me. It's in my profile....
fellow violet, lol
Kam.....grrrrr
jai, for pete's sake, please turn off the spell check... or not.... it is very amusing to see what it thinks you mean to type... loll
night night, jai. Prayers for your health.
Yes. Too pooped to autocorrect the autocorrect.....
sweetest of dreams jai. holding you in my heart.
Sleep well jai! I don't know how you can even play this game on a phone! I have to use my kindle and my phone both
TY TY...*proof
*giggles* Keep it turned on please, I am enjoying it so much
I have a pad.
Jammin....
hahaha, Otto said poof has to be proof ;)
lol
coffee maker where i currently am sounds like a war movie.
rose, had a new word for our dictionary two days ago: outqueer - to be stranger than the rest
hiya hursh, lol
hi :)
{{hurshy}} dear one. maybe your ears are sensitive. sprite, i love it... did you put it in?
I did :)
this world is full of too loud noises. When you are sensitive to them, you get stressed all the time
no, it's not BOTHERING me, it's amusing me
then all is well :)
ho4 + fr5 is a phantom, darn it

waiting for your second wind, hursh
rose is asleep.... :P
sorry honey. packing my bag for tomorrow. meds ready to go now.
for today i still have to find the clean pillow cases for the bed, and put tomorrows lunch into the slow-cooker.
ugh, poor you
I asked a little while back if it hurt, rose ;)
Phantom: Tsetse.
good part is, once i have done these two chores, nothing to do at all for tomorrow's lunch.
only in babble, that is even a sentence, lol. Hiya zooz. *hugs*
what hurt, sprite?
omg.... {{{{{{{{zooz}}}}}}}}
I past-tensed you, honey
Hello, ((sprite)) ((Rose)) ((Hurshy))
oh.... roflollll....
Finally on when you are here!
zooz how are you zooz and th5 parents ?
I usually miss you by about 30 minutes or so lol
lovely to see you, zooz. How are you doing, and how are your parents holding up?
or what rose asked...
lolllll.... or what sprite said.
I am doing fine thanks. Mother seems to be n the mend slowly. Father is about the same fragile but I think that is just him lol
good to hear they are holding up, and even better that you are fine :)
How are you, Rose? Sprite?
Oh I am always just plodding along :-)
good for you zooz. of course it is all your tender loving care which keeps them so good.
Morning all! May I have stats, please, for that P in the top right?
pretty good here, zooz, thanks
Well I know they appreciate it and I do not mind as I love them so much.
ps5/12 babblet, matty, and hi
you are a great son, zooz
Well, hello! How are things there?

WTG SPRITE !!!
ROSE! Hugs a plenty

Have a great day, Sprite
Have a great day, Sprite!
love and hugs dear sprite
matty how are you with 'our' weather over there?
It's MUCH cooler today and they're expecting rain - which is a bummer, as we're off to a folk festival this afternoon - three days in a field (though I'm not an idiot; we're sleeping in a hotel)
and how is the other half? is he well?
not arguing the point matty.... good decision.
where is the festival, honey?
It's in Oxfordshire, near Banbury.
Jeff is well, though his mum is in hospital with a chest infection - she's 85 and senile
http://www.fairportconvention.com/ - that's the link to the festival page
Small world, Matty. I was born in Oxford and one of my sister's now lives in Banbury :-)
Oh wow - well, we are a small island - the festival itself is in Cropredy
Must admit I have never heard of that place though lol
It was, apparently, the site of a civil war battle
Was it! Oh dear history was nevver my strong point.
Actually i am still trying to find my strong point LOL
Haa! Join the club!
*giggle* zooz. try looking in a mirror... i think your strong point is on the top of your head... *ducks under the table*
Swipes at, Rose with a fly swat but just misses!
hahaha... you missed, you missed... 8-P
Cropredy sounds like a TV murder program for farmers...Who killed our crop!
*blows, Rose a raspberry*
nah, nah, nah.... *squirts zooz with her water-pistol* got him... right between the eyes...
oh, the mono brow saved him... darn...
*offers zooz tweezers to pluck th5 unwanted hairs*
Ha! I have a friend who has a mono brow and he really hates it. I can not see what all the fuss is about.
of course you can't dear. the mono brow shields your eyes...
LOL
*giggling*
dearest man... time for dinner. so lovely to chat with you... and sharing a giggle
Now someone who had massive eye brows almost covering his eyes was a guy call denis healey from many years ago. A poilitician back in the days.
In the end he turn the ends upwards. It did look daft.
Okay ((Rose)) Nice to see you and take care!
I see 'Hagrid' from Harry Potter nearly made it into the grid :-)
Have you got stats for the I in the second column?
No but I wil look with you.
i have an io 6 and 7 matty
Found them io 6/21
Snap, Ivesy!
lol
Got 'em - thanks! Obvious once you know ;)
Back to the As for me :-)
Those As are killing me
I know I keep entering the As I already have from the top A lol
I only have 3 As from the top and one each from the other two
I have sfive from the top one.
I do have the long one, though, thanks to the chog
I do not have that one, even with the first five letters I could not find it lol
Gotta admit, morewords was my friend there. The rest of it is pretty flowers.
Ah thank you. Got it! Not sure why I thought they said it was PT
Well that is all the top As I have now.
I still only hvae three of them
A + neigh
Oooh - nice clue!
I have 3 on the next A and 4 on the one next to it. that will have to do on those for now.
You are cleverer than I!
AR + cover on head then plural
I have sighs, a long way away, getting old, riding, long one, and crafts
Oh god, that one! I should have seen that!
top A there is AR 4/8
OK, that would have eventually been a monkey job. Thanks!
lol
Ooh - found an ag5...
THe plural?
No. Sounds a bit like wool from a rabbit minus a letter
I have AG 4/6 & plural.
Ah thanks! got it now.
Finally find your AGs. Thankee!
I will have to stop as I need to get going. Hope you have a great time despite the rain, Matty Thanks for helping me with clues.
And thank you! Have a great day/weekend if I don't catch you!

Good day to all.
at the beach, godthaab
Ah!!! Thank you, thesnark.
v. welcome.
much nice grid today :) first pass through - nbt and nbs and 79 to go!
Go HH, go!
I have found 87 and am moving very slowly now.
need to get an early start today - lots of stuff to do.
i'll be in your neighborhood next week scrab - taking my daughter to binghamton and ithaca
I am southeast of Buffalo, but you will be near Featherbee.
College visits?
yes :) we're going to visit my son in camp in PA on s
sunday, and then college visits on monday
SUNY Binghamton is an excellent school, and Cornell, of course.
yes those 2. but I think binghamton is her safety - she'd prefer U of Maryland
Another great school. So many choices--near/far, big city/small town, big university/small school.
I'm also going to try to teach her to drive stick shift on this trip.
$--$$$$$
I never learned that skill.
yes and we live in Boston, which has lots and lots of $$$$$$ schools
My first husband taught history at Bing.
L lived therre for a long time
that's a crazy conicidence ruby
we're going to stay there overnight sunday
l loved Binghamton except in winter
Hi Ruby
l taught elementary art
Hi scrabs
Does your daughter have a major in mind, HH?
very much undecided
she's thinking sciences
Weskied at Greek Peak
So many choices. And future job must be considered.
I think we've scared her away from pre-med, thankfully
No, great options exist in medicine.
it's a tough life, and getting tougher, being a clinical md
I'm all for socialized medicine, but it's going to be a very rough transition period if we're going in that direction
l wanted medical school but there wasn't enough $$
and if not, the paperwork and patient counts that the companies demand are nuts these days
Yes, there are many hassles, but many privileges and honors.
One needs to weigh those versus all the additional schooling and expense. It has to be a calling.
I saw one of my 5 year patients in the supermarket 2 days ago and she invited me to her birthday party. She sees me as a friend.
that's sweet.
my wife did md/phd. It was a difficult period
are you solo practice scrab?
Yes, very tough path for the dual degree. What is her PhD in?
neurosci
Group practice in rural area--6 docs, 3 midlevels. Oldest doc will be 74 in 2 weeks and will probably retire at the end of the year.
And her specialty?
neuro.
but she jumped over to pharm about 7 years ago.
Cool. I am a migraineur so read up on that often.
though she still volunteers at the VA clinic
So what does she do now?
neuro stuff for big pharma.
We have a PA that will likely retire in a year or two, and the sooner the better. Another PA is so-so. I love our NP--VERY thorough and bright.
do the docs own the practice?
I fear for the future of primary care with midlevels in charge.
Yes, private practice. When oldest partner retires he gets a payout, and newest partner will likely be ready to buy in.
yes I've been hearing lost of complaints about PAs and RNs taking over
well that's much nicer than corporate ownership
Most do not know what they don't know, and their training pales in comparison to residency.
hi all
I'd imagine so. Though the ones I've been seeing have been wonderful.
hi jmc good morning
I am guessing the P word is medical in nature
You do hear lots of horror stories from experienced physicians about nurse practicioners who think they can run the show.
JM--how nice to see you here.
it's a babblet of sorts, jmc
*waves*
PLural for muscles in pelvis.
ah ty harry

good morning
Hi mkg, peri, and origami
morning, scrabs. More remodeling adventures today?
One guy is doing grout on new tiles. He needed the other guys to be done so they weren't walking around.
My new flooring is being installed next week. Can't wait for it to be done. Been living with bare tile for a month.
bare concrete, rather
My house looks like a new house to me. So different and transformed.
I have to decide how to arrange the furniture, what to keep, what to donate, what to buy, where to put area rugs, etc
I need to do a major purge.
I have been doing that--many donations and discards. Less to own means less to take care of.
And less stuff here makes the home look larger.
good morning, babblers!
Hi Eva and K.
hello, Dr Scrabs!
Hi Eva
Your baby is almost 2, Eva. Seems like you were just pregnant.
Good morning my babble friends. :)
hi cross!
hello all
hi crossy and everyone! just finishing up here, out of lurk mode
clue for io6 pls?
salt treatment to prevent goiters?
io + cons. + r*** & shine
hi luv ty
the p word is ps?
yes, ps5.12
Hi, I was talking to the flooring guy.
mumbles (cougar)
Scrabbs, I bought a book to help me get rid of stuff.. sounds like you have been able to do it - huzzah - I'm not a hoarder, but having difficulty. The book has been a big help.
ty aloy
I have been well-behaved with the house full of men, ruru.
howdy ru
Aloy, read the website "being minimalist" by Joshua Becker. It inspired me. Basically, own less so you have less to take care of.
:D Just making sure you haven't offered to give them a medical check up scrabs
Free hernia checks and testicular exams.
ok, writing that down.. LOL Scrabs!
One guy was my patient when he was a kid and now I take care of his 3 daughters.
Tile guy to scrabs... jeez lady how many times do I have to cough
Keep coughing, I cannot find it.
HA
Sometimes a guy is hiding.
depends on how cold the office is
does the or 8 start with or 5/12?
I have no 8's.

his teachers are already getting bummed about him moving to the next group soon. i guess thats a good problem to have -- all of his teachers want to keep him. ;)
ar9 .. arthritic valentine flowers
Nice, Eva.
I cannot figure out the ending to or8. Not tic, or pod
it's a plural scrabs
NM, same ending as ar9
Hemophiliacs get hem-ar9 from bleeding into their joints.
that'd be a drag to be a hemophiliac
Management is better than it used to be. One of my patients from the 80's acquired HIV and died as a teen.
that's terrible
Yes. Brian was a nice kid.
fw, interesting grid today.. will leave you with a newbie (for me anyway). Ha7.44 is the pt of a word that means "to harass". Start off with a gnarly old woman and end with the first four letters of a cowboy contest. Must scoot, nice seeing you all.. have a great Thursday!
later aloy
ty aloy!
TY, Aloy. Hi kje
gm
reading an excellent book that you might enjoy, scrab
"Reading with Patrick" by Michelle Kuo
Looks like a great story.
heartbreaking, but also inspiring
I see lost kids every day that make me sad already.
it is one of the reasons I couldn't do peds... I considered med-peds, but after a stint in pediatric psych, whoa
i still dont have that A 9 word. i have the flower but what is the ending?
It is even worse now--sad, angry, lost kids diagnosed with ODD, bipolar, depression, ADHD when really these kids need love, support, and discipline. The polypharmacy is frightening.
ar9 ../.. paintings + a consonent + flowers
Osteo****itis (joint pain and swelling from aging) + flowers
ty
Oops, just one R in the middle
ty got it.
oaths
ooops sorry
hi
Hi Trif. You see feral kids as a teacher. It is so sad, isn't it?
it is.
self-rearing children rarely do well
No, then the culture raises the child and that is dangerous.
I just got the "thanks but no thanks" letter for a new job that I REALLY wanted, so feeling a bit blue at the moment. I am going to be VERY sad for a bit, then dust myself off and carry on.
There are hundreds of kids that I want to adopt.
Oh, no. Yes, move on.
Good morning, all. Well, at least they had the common courtesy to let you know, Trif.
doesnt' feel very courteous at the moment. they sent a generic email. I feel like the music stopped and I have no chair.
:-/
leaving on a short vacation today too, which I am glad of, but now I REALLY can't afford. Feeling highly sorry for myself - will pass soon, but wallowing in it for a brief bit.
I am chastised by what scrabbler wrote, in the best possible way - there are MANY worse things in life....
So true, Trif. Please enjoy your vacation.
My youngest sister is at a camp in Plymouth restoring trails with the Sierra Club.
th 6/24 please?
I will look with you.
thanks Scrabs

be nice, kje
haha
sheesh, almost did it again
this is why I lurk
Down to 21, and as always it is the 5 and 6 letter words that confound me. 17 of the 21 are those... sigh.
Agreed. Some people are so good at bi-babbling, they can have a chat and play at one time without a pause.
nrkii, do you go through your list on automatic trying out pre and suffixes
I haven't gone to the list yet. I go through each tile one at a time and try to get to only 1 or 2 unsolved on a tile before I move to the next one.
Somehow, the 5s and 6s just never come easy, even though I add the plurals and pts and all that.
not The List nrkii, your word list to the right of the grid
ah, sometimes, but it mostly just makes me dizzy to look at that... I do better if I do it in real time
just found a 5 and a 6, getting there
ah, of course. I know what you mean. It's my next to last resort before Lickety. My last always works, though, especially if your brain has gotten used to fixing on the grid. Go away. Come back later
And now I take my own advice, leaving 69 unfound words behind me. .... Love your icon, nrkii. Bye all.
bye!
Hi, all!
Pam!
nrkii!
that first column A is puzzling... I have 3 of them
aa4, ar5, ar6
anyone got the stats for the 2 I'm missing?
ar 5/6 combo.....ar 5/12....
and ar 6/21...
I have that combo
ah... list says I am missing two Ai words... looking now
ah...then it is ai 6/7....ai 6/24 and 7/36...
if you put an M in front of the 5, you would get a famous French detective in fiction....
not sure if he spells it that way, but it sounds like him...
nice clue pen, thanks
12 to go, 9 of them 5 and 6 letter words... diving in to the list
yw...
Mdicktracy
