it is incredibly beautiful there. And the campus is HUGE!
Urgh well I willmnot go into too much detail as it drags on a bit but basically dad was rushed to hospital with severe chest pains a couple of days a ago and after lots of tests it was gall stones (huge ones) so he is home now and we are doing what ever is needed with all the other medical things going on with mother and dad. Getting old is a rudy nightmare!

How is the weather, Ruby? We had a beautiful warm day yesterday but is is set to cool down a lot now.
And she is a wise lady and correct.
we went by boat, car on the boat, then by car from newcastle to Edinburgh. Half hour drive here, 15 hours on the boat, 2.5 hours drive there. Then the next day in reverse.
Not too bad then. hope the food on the boat was edible. Can be pricy though.

we booked dinner and breakfast along with the tickets, which made for a 35% reduction. Not too bad. It was an expensive undertaking but worth it. He has all his stuff with him there, we helped him get installed, visited the IKEA to buy some storage stuff, and a supermarket to fill his fridge and cupboards. It is great to know where he lives and that he has all he needs. Also so very very grateful we never gave up on him in the years he was being impossible. Much better to have him move out like this, because he is ready and on to new adventures.
((Sprite)) you both did right by your son & daughter and they will never forget what you are doing for them!
:D we did our job as parents and it looks like we didn't make a too lousy job of it. We are very proud of both of them.
When they fly the nest and they are living their lives it always feels so nice when they come back to the fold for special occassions like Christmas etc!
I bet :D Looks like Tim will be coming home for Xmas this year, not sure if Caya will join us too them. Would be fun to be together as a family for a day or two, for sure.
When you come fro a large family like me it is much harder for that to happen.
much harder to organise and get everybody on the same page, no doubt.

but I have to say, even to get all of us together is not always easy. The children have other people to visit and spend time with when they come back here, friends and family. But I will suggest a common meal at least, with Tim, Caya and Lisa. Should be doable. We do not mind if it is not on Xmas day.

Yes, there's a difference, but I have no right to censor someone else in the chat, nor does anyone. If the chat disturbs you, turn it off. If you're chatting, you're not babbling, so if you're so serious about the puzzle, focus on that. It's really easy, btw, to NOT read a lengthy paragraph peppered with clues.
Then that is more or less the same as just posting the words in the chat. Like who cares?

In fact, the one time I objected to someone's clues -- to say that giving the number of the letter in the alphabet was not a clue, it was an answer - everyone in chat came down on my head. So my eyes just sweep over their names and I try not to see anything, which is hard for a fast reader.
I think the clue thing will be self selecting. If ppl don't respond, the overcluing will go away. It's my passive-aggressive side.
Last word from me: if I had been here during the first time the subject came up and Jan had talked about helping people who were "struggling," I would have tried to explain that what she saw as struggling was playing the game.
