hurshy - I'm taken aback by the 74 Bs...but have found 33 so far. I don't think there are any more! LOL
h'lo pini, we have seventy four b words
I can't even keep ups with how fast you guys find the longest words! By this time of night;it's all I can do on a grid like this to get NBT and NBS!
i have found 58 B so far
Oh, it is fun, Nef!! :)
Gads, I need to work harder, Hurshy!
bi 7
let me see i have ba7 x 7, ba8, be8, bi7, bl7 x 3, bl8 x 2
sl 7
It's fun to try to find at least some of the ones called out; it's just that my brain isn't as fast as everyone else's & if I find a unique word, by the time I type it someone else calls it out! (It's not a big thing to me; I'm just amazed by the speed at which some people find those long words!)
ts6 for the 2nd row 2, ta6 for the left lone T
i actually am often one of the slower ones with long words nef
so i feel the same
I set different goals, Nef. Sometimes I go for the big one, sometimes NBT/NBS, sometimes to see how many I can get before I hit the hay...
as 9 if not called
(kinda depends on how hard I want to work!) LOL
Up to 40 Bs now, Hurshy...might have to come back to them. Don't want to miss Nan's as9!
I have bl 7 x 5 and bl 8 x 3
Clues are up
thx lickety
thanks lickety
Thanks, Lickety!
And I'm kind of weird; I try to black out letters to form pictures in the finished grid; maybe all of the outside letters first (to form a frame as it were) or like a Bingo card with a giant X (or whatever). :-/
Thanks, Lickety!
Haven't tried that, Nef...might have to add that to my options - mix it up a bit more! :)
oh i love it if i can do that, nef!!!
So I'm not the only weird person here then, hurshy!
*giggle*
No, Nef, you are definitely among friends! LOL
well, you should have known THAT for a long time now Nef!
i've made my weirdness pretty clear in so many different ways
LOL! I'm teasing, hurshy! We've known you long enough that all of us fit right in here (maybe that's why we're all still hanging out here after so many years?
yeah. i miss some of the weirdos who aren't still here... lol
Ain't that the truth, Nef...we're all just fun-loving glutens for punishment!
Me too. Some that have permanently left us; and some that just don't or can't play anymore.
LOL, Pini! How right you are! :-D
*thinking of old friends* Wish there was a way to find out how some are doing...
LOL pini - i think you mean gluttons...
gluten is the thing in wheat, that people with Celiac can't digest
Yeah, I was thinking that spelling didn't look right, hurshy...spending too much time lately with my gluten-intolerant daughter.
LOL! Hey hurshy; either way; it's a good description of us!
hehe
pinki!
hiya kje :)

speaking of tatless...I won a certificate for a tattoo...been trying to figure out if I'm going to bite the bullet or not (currently thinking not)... LOL
night nan :)
And how did you win that Pini?
hmmm... could be fun
Niters, nan!

...I've been thinking about getting a "watermark" of my dog's paw print...
do it!
(although I'm only *thinking* of course)
Well, that wasn't as weird as I was imagining it would be... thinking of how a person would win a certificate for a tattoo!
haha nef - I can only imagine how weird that could be
WTG, hurshy!
I'm not sure I want to know how your brain is working right now on that one, Nef...LOL
skinny fish alert
volcano poker alert
some kind of a weird bet at a shady racetrack, Nef?
Pini, I was thinking about how many people you hear about who end up getting tattoos while drinking or drunk. (When I was working in the hospital, I heard a lot of stories of weird tattoos (often in weird places)
fly alert
thanks harp
those last 14 b's are killing me
ditto rain, i'm at 60 also
omg!!! 74 Bs?
yeppers
Well, rest assured, Nef, I won't be one of those. If I do anything, it will definitely take about 3-6 months minimum to get up the guts and then another 3-6 to decide on the artwork and then another 3-6 to confirm I wanna do it...and I will definitely be sober when I do it (unless it numbs the pain!)
yes, kje; scary, isn't it? (but lost of them go really fast!)
allegedly, kje
yes, kje...I'm still looking...Hurshy has me beat, but I have 40 so far! :)
i'm 90% done with the grid as a whole
haha Hurshy - I agree !
(it would make a better story if you were drunk, pinki)
dang, hurshy...speed fingers, eh?
think of the grandkids someday and wowing them
ROFL, thanks kje!!!
I'll see what I can do! :)
meep meep
two more B's have appeared
I need 2 more for NBS and the as9 for NBT...
as9 is a plural
That's good news, Pini. For a while there, there was a couple of TV reality shows about tattoo artists that I'd catch at odd times of the night. It was interesting; but still not something I'd ever do myself. Of course, my daughter just *had* to get one on her upper thigh, then she got another about 2 years later. Now she owns a house, so I hope she's done with tattoos .
I'm at 62 as well Hurshy
*ponders logical connection between homeownership and tattoo acquisition*
64 b's here, but still no as9
as9 is a normal word
I'm a point now, Nef...that I don't want a tat to sag (i.e., a rose turns into a tulip)
oh, found the 9
yeah, I get that... aging tats are a whole different thing
*looking for the elusive 9*
hurshy, they both cost money. The house now uses most of her extra cash; she rarely has any to "play" with anymore.
are tattoos that expensive?
My daughter said basics can start at $50...and go up from there...
IDK, if you have an original artwork piece and it's by a good artist; I guess it is.
...but then it depends on how big, intricate, colorful, detailed, etc. - the sky's the limit I suppose
a tattoo of the sky shouldn't be anywhere near the limit - it's just blue, easy
ROFL
nbt
Her 1st tattoo was a roller skate(s?) with wings and a devil's pitchfork; she was in roller derby for 5 or 6 years back then. Then she had a bad fall and injured her tailbone & may need a hip replacement by the time she's 40.
nbs
WTG, harp!
Well, it's getting late here, so I'd better get going. I'll keep you posted on the direction of my nerves for this little adventure (or not). Have a great evening all - good to see everyone! :)
Niters, Pini! Good to see you again! :-)
good morning all
Hi sprite! Unfortunately, I'm heading for bed now too.
sleep well, Nef!

I wonder if the lone t is ts6
no it is not, jaianniah. Great to see you :)
just noticed the second column S has two words which I dont have :( any clues please
Good to see you, too. It is really hard to figure out sometimes...
I guess you should not ask me! Lol
yeah it is. Especially when there are so many words that start with the same letter
St 6/18
This is a pretty fun puzzle. The word families are sometimes huge....
there are 2 lone t's and one of them is indeed ts 6, one of my favorite words!
oh... right you are, there is another single T.
yeah lots of series, always a joy, lol
Well, I guess I was just looking at the wrong one....
not one of my favorite bugs though
Anyone need clues????
am trying to find out which Ss come from the second column S
St 6/18
Maybe everyone knows this but me...Are you trying to do this without Lickety's clues????
So far, yes.
yes. Only use lickety if I end up stumped on the last few.
I wouldn't solve them without...so my hats off to you if you do...
FWs
I typically don't go to lickety until I have only a few left; I still have 40 to go.
wtg dizzie!

Omg... this is insane enough for me without adding another layer of insanity...I mean difficulty....lol
thanks for the st6/18, that is one of them indeed

am fine, thanks jai :)
You are all so great at this.... I don't doubt that you're fine!
lol, that is only because you do not see the crazy things I type in!
I type plenty of crazy stuff..sometimes more than once lol
same here.
Ds down
Sometimes, I actually type the same thing four or five tines because I swear it's a word... but no! There is a word that I DO think is a word that apparently is not in the dictionary...when a horse doesn't need a harness, so to speak...
should have been valid. What can we say... it is enable :D
Robin McKinley would argue for me...her books have horses that go without these.
enable is very consistent in being totally inconsistent
True.
I have to sleep...have an appt in 5.5 hours....
go sleep, dear one. *hugs* and sweet dreams.
Have a good day...see you at the flip later on! It's been great talking with You!

and to all, a blessed day and a peaceful night
xoxox dearest sprite
Okay quick first run through and I have 54 words left for later. Happy babbling everyone!
Hi all. May have stats, please, for the S in the fourth row, second column above the D?
found an se4 from there
se5/10 and I had to work a while for that
So many S and Es together that, apart from just find that se4/4, it seems everything I enter comes from a different one :)
st6/18 finally
May I have a clue for the se5/10 from that pesky fourth row S?
Actually, I think I have that one, the badger homes, yes?
No, it is a state of equilibrium
I'm not sure I'm right about the se5 now, since you say you have an se4 from there. I thought it was an se5 that gave me my first one
I thought it was what you do to the table (with plates and silverware) plural with a double consonant
No, it was a plural of the se4 (badger home), I think, which is an SE5...I think....
Ah yes, Molly, the word you describe is the badger home :)
That was the same table word. I didn't know that is what you call a badger home. The other one is st6/18 a state of equilibrium. Damn hard word for two simple s words.
Now, back to all those freakin' b words
Got it, thanks Molly.
Oh god, so many B words.
I keep wanting to try basalt
gm, clue for the ba7/36 after the long eared, sad looking dogs?
Opens Babble. Sees number of words. Sees number of B words. Faints. Closes Babble for now to do something else:-(
nm found it! tadone! it's a fun grid!
clue for that single T word first column?
ts6. Bitey insect common and dangerous in Africa
I have that word already matty, and its not from first column.
but thank you anyway :)
Drat. You're right. I have the word, but no idea which one it is! Lemme look
Ah hah. Try ta6/18 - sounds like a fond word for potato (often in Scotland, these and neaps)
(or neeps)?
if you mean t + plural butts, I have that one already.
ah! I got it :)
Ah hah! Excellent. Google those and neeps - it's a Scottish thing, I htink
I have 67 left and have massively slowed down
I've been to Scotland but didn't remember neeps.
Turnips, I think.
Often accompanying haggis
Yes of course... it's all coming back to me now, haha. I was there in the 60s so obviously a LONG time ago.
Oooh - and so you paid in pounds, shillings and pence
Yes! I was a child, I thought the English money was so cool. We shopped on the air force base, so we used American coins there.
The thruppence coin was many-sided, maybe an octagon?
12 pennies to the shilling, 20 shillings to the pound...plus farthings (quarter of a penny), happence etc. Not sure - I think you may be right but I've only been here since 1988
Yes, you're right, lil-monkey. We went decimal in 1972.
Oh just looked it up, the three penny coin was 12-sided. I thought it was the coolest thing. I was only 8 or 9 years old.
We moved to United States in 1969, so it's been a while.
It's years since I've seen one. Our coins aren't nearly as interesting any more.
Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane!
I'm only 1/3 through the Bs, but have to get ready for work now. Have a good day all!
WE do have multi-sided coins though - the 20p, the 50p, and most recently the one pound coin
The five pence piece is too fiddly to be workable.
It is a silly coin
And we now have plastic notes. Handy when you accidently run them through the wash
It'll be interesting to see how long they last in comparison to the old paper notes.
Well, the 20s are still paper so I guess we have a comparison, if you should happen to get a brand new 20 pound note and a new 10 pound note....course the experiment all goes to pot given you'll probably spend them ;)
True.
Canada has Plastic notes too
I didn't know that.
What I do know is that it's a fun grid. A bit dizzying with all those s letters floating about. Housework awaits! Happy babbling...
We have had them for a couple of years. Fold them and put them in your wallet, and you will never get the crease out.
hello

Yes, but it is from the center t.
i need center T also bea.
It repeats the same three letters
I think ti 6/18 is from that first row T.
got it! ty bea.
first row T is not near the i champ. sorry
It has to be a ta from the first column
Sorry! Ta6/18. Sounds like it ends in the sometimes vowel.
meaning is what champ? is it one of the senses you use with food?
i got it! not the word i was thinking of but got it. ty champ
Great! Took me a while too.
still missing the S second column and the E words for E 4th row if you wish to send me stats and clues. ty.

yw :)
I'm down to 52 on my first pass.. not bad
it's been really easy to miss plurals in this grid...
It took me a long time to figure out that ba after the dogs. It is not in any word lists. It is the dog, with two sets of double consonants. A singular word.
and then I've missed some stupid 4s where I've put in the plurals. oi.
I hate missing the singular.
No telling what all I missed, but 98 left for later. Good luck, all!
does the bi7/40 means with two butts?
:)
alright, see you all later. 30 to go and now the dentist
I finally wiped out all the vowels but there are only 27 of those.

is there a problem with the b words? can t find a ba 7/36- one of 2 in a row
it's just not on any list, double the last consonant
or rather, the second to last consonant
I have two ba7s
thanks mael
no I have 6 but I also got that word that was just clued
I have 6 - 7's … still ten words short of completing the B's...

Think I'll wind up listing to find the final 10...
first as 5/10 pls?
my first one is donkeys, mlf
hello 186 to go
hi harp
I have that one
I'm lookoing for that one too. It comes from the bottom A
al6?
yeah I was hoping it does as I only need one a from that one
don't have that one either
ends in two vowells
al6 does?
i just finished and that first as 5 was my last word. think testing of a metal but end in 3rd vowel rather than the sometimes vowel'
wolvie can you try again with that clue pls?
al 6 is although, even if
as 5?
yes first as 5 10
don't have the al word either
okay - think of a written test answer- long form- that begins with an e, and ends with the sometimes vowel. sub an a for the e, and the third vowel for the sometimes vowel at the end.
I got a al 6/24:)
al 6 - al plus **atles, plus he she *t.
oh lol- good
well, I might as well start the B's

APparently it's not on any lists
not easily found in google search either
alternate clue would be the furniture brand
didn't know it was a furniture brand
Yes. FIner furniture, I think. My mom
Yes, that is what I was thinking but I thought proper nouns were not in playbabble
mom's dining tale from 1963 was a Bassett. Just got rid of it last year
maybe a shirt worn by a certain dog breed ;)
*table
you're correct, proper nouns aren't acceptable

The difficult ba7 has double consonants in the middle and at the end. It is not in any word lists.

I'll take the whiskey and pass the metamucil to my mom...
I'm off to give my mom her metamusil...=) and then heading for my pillow. Until manana...
A shot of whiskey and a shot of Metamucil, would that be an Elder Car Bomb?
Ha to both of you
One shot to ease the pain, one shot to move the mail
