can't believe it took me so long to find that wa 8-9 -- used one for 20 years -- must be dozing off
ha
DEWOP is not accepted - I fear for these people.
well, i'm a bit stuck at 20 left
ahhhhhh there's a few more h's!
doowopdoowop diddley poppoppop heedledeedle doodle diddley doodeedoodeewopwopwop!
looking pretty good now, only 16 left
that was a clue to sc4/5
good for you hurshy -- stalled at 66 left
ahhh the dreaded 14
cnan, ever since i switched to going systematically left to right, top to bottom, instead of random finding, i find that i may be a little slower at the start, but i keep on more steadily and get more words in one pass - well there IS such a thing as one clear pass, too
we have one 7 and one 8 left uncalled
hmmm....I have all the 7s
what letters are you missing yet, hursh?
oh, most of 'em
2 T, 1 C, 2 H, 2 A, 1 D, 2 B, 3 R, 1 P
just found the ca8. hello
do you have the te 6/8 combo?
there is an an 7, maybe that one?
an, that would be it, yes
i do have the te6/8, i think that's the first thing i called :)
B's Banished!
it was my last two t's :)
i may need a bit of a pointer for that an7
It
It's another name for an aardvark.
had to google but once i saw it i remembered seeing it in previous grids, thanks Gillie
are you a Gillie as in Gillian or a Gillie like the Scottish person who guides people when they fish or hunt?
i'm be7.44 :)
good morning all
morning, sprite
hello dcseain
Hi Sprite! How are you doing today?
*hugs Kam* Okayish, still in a lot of pain. But otherwise okay. And you? And your beloved?
Not bad. It just started raining again, and we hadn't gotten everything closed up...oops! Wet stuff...it happens. Sorry you're hurting.
oops! Hope it is all stuff that will not hurt from the wetness.
It started rainng here at noon on Thursday, it's still rainng, and will into the afternoon here -- another 12h or so.
We weren't expecting rain for 2 more days...it will dry eventually. Michael went out and covered up and closed up.
weather forecasts... never trust them, lol
We had our driveway redone, and it changed the water flow of the yard. It was supposed to keep water off the driveway...have to call the guy to come back out and see what he did... and fix it. We're flooding right where we park, ugh!
that sucks :(
I wouldn't have even known it was raining if a cat hadn't come in...soaking wet.
aw poor thing
Yeah, this guy did our neighbor's driveways, and they're perfect! I don't guess he could have known from the lay of the land - it's really an odd way that it's flooding, and he trenched it well. We think we have a spring somewhere, and it seems to be "leaking" closer to the house this year.
Cat didn't mind, lol! He wasn't too happy about getting his feet "wrung out" - I squeeze the water out with a towel.
He knows the routine, and lifts the next foot...
thinking: let's get it over with, stupid humans...
hahaha
haha kam my old ginger boy spits and hisses while you drying him off and when you stop he comes back for me and spits and hisses again !!
*for more
cooee and lots 'n' lots of hugs and kisses to two very special ladies. {{{sprite}}}} {{{{kam}}}}
*giggles* so cute
*hugs rose* Hello my dearest friend. Great to see you. How are you doing? Any news on the prescription?
nope.... nothing yet, and before you ask, there is no-one i can pester. wish there was...it is a government department..
My guy is about 12, and is used to the routine when he's wet. We don't get all that much rain most years, and he hasn't come in completely drenched in several years, but he doesn't care if his feet are sopping mud pies. I have towels all over!
we finished wrapping the kiddies presents today. just all the chocolates and money gifts to go, and our two KK gifts.
ugh rose :( So... to the gp for another shortterm script?
Mine is now 17 and you would think he knows the routine but still finds the process worthy of hissing and spitting - gotta love them
i am not sure if my boys are gonna be talking to me after the gifts are unwrapped. lots of noise makers...loll oh i love being a granny.. i can escape...loll
it is a matter of principle, ursh :)
sprite, have a short term script already, have another weeks worth of tabs on habd.
lol rose! Parents will curse you, kids will love you forever.
this is true sprite and he has very high principles
Ursh, each one is different, too. I've had cats all of my life - and so has hubby. When we first got together, we each had four! We're down to one each now - old age and illnesses took their toll over the years.
penny whistles, thunder drums, football rattles, little asian drums which you spin between your hand to make the little ball hit the drum.
okay rose, as long as you won't be left stranded in the middle of the festivities.
Yip me too Kam - we have 4 now - just recently lost an 18 year old - and the 17 year old is on borrowed time - he is very large and back legs not coping with old age :(
it is always tough to say goodbye to longtime pets... they are our fur babies.
then there are the kites, and an internal combustion engine model for Deacon, lego for Braxton and Sophia, a book on how to balloon animals, paper plane folding. yup, the daddies are gonna be very busy ...loll
*is suddenly very happy the children are grown and left the house... and grannyrose cannot do her magic there...*
good. Dads should work their asses off for their kids with projects like that.
Sorry to hear, ursh. I lost my favorite boy a few years ago - he was the most awesome cat ever - for me. Hubby has his own character cat now, and that boy is Daddy's Boy!
oh hurshy, that's so ha4 to know it is in the near future. i still weep a little when i look at the portrait of my two fur babies..
ursh* :D
just you wait sprite..... you become a granny and i will be there like a shot. that grandkiddie is gonna have THREE grannies.
(don't mix up ursh and hurshy haha)
*grins* Hello dear Hursh!
ugh...*urshy* sorry love
oh, please do, rose. Will love to share!
and heerrreeees HURSHY....
and i solved the DIL's christmas gifts. soft pink tulle skin scourers with some nice smelling bath salts. i just wanted to make a gesture, nothing more.
that is a very sweet and thoughtful gift, darling
it's very difficult. my instinct is to splurge ++++, but the kids feel very uncomfortable with the idea. the boys are getting metal plaques, about the size of a car number plate, aged and rusted, with old-fashioned pics of women in 1940's clothes, pretending to tinker with motors etc.
the day after christmas (27th) caya and tim and lisa are gonna visit us here, and we are gonna make a late alternative christmas dinner. Tim and caya will do the appetizers, rob and I the main course and tim and lisa the desserts. Yes, Tim has volunteered for two!
oh, lovely!
*faints* take the boys temperature....is he feverish?
growing up, I think, rose :D :D Seems we are gonna have an italian-themed dinner. Am really looking forward to it.
tell Tim i said to google christmas cheese cakes. the one Kerry made for our parish lunch was to die for.
nah, I am letting them do their thing. Much more fun for them to not feel pushed by mother.
not being pushed by mother, being pushed by "granny"
*giggles* true, dat.
tomorrow is the workshop on self-sufficient housing! Looking forward to it. As a former university student I have offered to take notes, and asked Rob to take pictures of slides etc and ask questions.
wow !! can't wait to he4 what you are found out.
me neither. And the nicest thing is, the man is so enthusiastic, he is available for questions ever after. We can email or app him and he will try to help. His network is huge, so... good contact to have too!
good one sprite. btw, what are you going to do for network access when you are in the tent?
That should be interesting! I'm glad there's extra support for questions that crop up later, too.
we also learned there is a 'tiny house academy' that offers interesting courses as well. We might go for that once we are in the caravan (and have money for it, and much lower costs of living)
i don't think i ever told you, sprite. a friend of mine lived with her husband, AND two young children in a tiny house for 2 years while her DH was building their house.she seemed to cope very well.
awesome, rose! If she has any great advice, we are eager to hear it :D
mwah, darling. unfortunately she died 15 years ago... cervical cancer. she thought she was immortal, and did not find time for her pap smears.it tore my heart apart .
omg rose, I am so sorry!
shouldn't have commented so carelessly. *hugs*
hence my empathy for others who are dealing with the loss of a friend or family member. i have been through it all.
aww sweetheart, you weren't to know.
yeah, I hear ya. After losing my friend Jom, I know how it feels when someone is taken long before their time.
hey Kam... where are you? please put your two bits worth in too...
and hursh and ursh and all others :D
lolll... yeah... hey you lot..... please join in.... so much fun when we are all here.
I had to run off to the other room for a bit...
tsk tsk, Kam.
I have a bit of an upset tummy...drinking ginger tea to help settle it
heart-breaking. two melbourne companys have closed down. one of them are not even paying their workers for the last week worked.
aw sweetie :( Never a moment of peace for you, it seems. *healing vibes to your tummy, sore muscles and other aches*
true baa humbug employers :(
*praying for comfort within Our Lord's arms for Kam*
but here on earth for a while still, Kam!
Thanks, much appreciated.
I'm not planning on leaving...too much to do yet!
good :D Or else! Don't make me come to get you back!
I won't.
*grin*
;)
fireflies. Easy grid, fun to work!
a blessed day and a peaceful night to you all, *hugs* to my friends and an extra big hug for rose.
Have a good day, and I hope you feel better!
WTG SPRITE!!! enjoy your day honey. praying that your pain eases soon. xoxox
kam, honey, time for my dinner. love and hugs and prayers to you and DH.
Enjoy dinner! Looking for my last word...
and done!
WTG KAMANJAH !~!!~lolll *poof*
Help! I'm stuck on an7.
It is a composite of an insect and a mammal
]
Thank you, Ema!
yw
That was my last word.
Bonjour!
Nasty, grey, windy, rainy, cold weather here.
lt feels like winter LOL
good morning friends. LAST DAY BEFORE BREAK!!!! Yay!
l think the light rain here is probably binging tons of snow to nearby ski resorts
for their sake I hope so! We are getting a WEIRD storm today - up to 5" of rain in 24 hours, with high, wailing winds up to 65 mph. I cannot even IMAGINE how much snow it would be. Strangely, it is going to be in the 60s today, very unusual for december in New England.
That's crazy weather (and temps!) Here it's just ordinery dreary December
SO much red clothing here at school today! Mind you, the school colors are red and white anyway, so we are always rather christmas-y. All of Massachusetts looks like the first 30 minutes of the Wizard of Oz.....
hah, I got a nine right away, that's always fun
yeah trif, it's going to be extremely soggy today
lremember qhen l was teaching in Binghamton, NY, howmy son andlwouldpray for snow days so we could go skiing
well done mael!
yeah, well, it's been so dry here lately (eye roll)
We need the rain
if I could send you some of ours I would, ruby
Lake Annecy is at its lowest, ever, and all the little rivers and streams are dry
Trif, do you know how to use the translating function? l have a close friend who would greatly benefit from the poem in your profile
uh....maybe? What language do you need it in?
The only English she knows are the bad words l use when l bumpinto things…..
I am assuming French but maybe not?
French, for my friend Nathalie.
OMG Mael, those kids in your icon are PRECIOUS!!!!
She's going through a very rough time
Ruby, I know how to copy and paste, but I have found the translations are often quite clunky. please hold.
You're many steps ahead of me. l'm a small, inept dinosaur
those are my munchkins, trif! thanks :)
So cute! My munchkin is 55 and was raised on OZ books
Ruby - WIN!!! The french translation can be found here....
https://www.inspirant.fr/imaginez-une-\nfemme.html
tyank you so much!!!
mael, I am costuming two shows right now, and one is the Wizard of Oz, so I am ALLLLL about the munchkins right now!
'morning everyone
HELLO WELKI
ruby, that link - take the \n out (right before femme)
Triif l copied the aaddress, and will try to mail it to Nat
Thanks Welki, clearly, l need all the help l can get!
ooo sorry about the address thing.
definitely read it first ruby, just in case anything is weird in there.
My munchkins here have long ears and cottontails.
L just sent the link to Nat. l hope it will helpher with her depression
hi, scrabs
Hi welki. Tell me about your progress.
My munchkins weigh 80 lbs
Hello scrabs
You have very fluffy munchkins, ruby.
*wondering if welki is doing jump shots yet*
walking without assistance (unless I get fatigued) for short distances. more than, say, a block will cause swelling, as will sitting with foot on the floor. (so ice and elevate when it swells) scar is healing nicely (mederma extra gel 1x day + lotion later on). pain is minimal early in the day, but increases after activity. physio is uncomfortable, but short of painful (i'm instructed to stop if there's any pain)
no running, no jumping for at least six months
(not that i do either on a regular basis anyway :)
...so, all in all, doing well (and thanks for asking)
Grrr. I would way past insanity, although deciding to have the surgery meant a knowledge of the recovery process.
yes, i did a lot of research and was as prepared as i could have been. i followed surgeon's instructions to a tee after reading about people who cheated on their recovery and paid the price
recovery, on average, takes at least a year
just finished, any clues needed?
A setback would be so disappointing.
No, thanks, lwg, I am doing well.
many folks who rush the process end up with additional surgery
discussion about the second surgery on the other foot will happen in a few months' time
Ok, HAGD everyone
thanks, luv
Oh, no, welki. You have to go through this AGAIN?
probably, although surgeon holds out some hope that, because non-surgical foot has been picking up the slack for the other for so many years, after everything calms down, surgery may not be necessary *let us pray*
but wouldn't that be the pits? at least i have all the paraphernalia
fingers crossed you don't need the surgery, welki!
thanks :)
Back after a phone call.
I hope you can be lucky to avoid a 2nd surgery.
heh - i could use a little luck :)
Good morning, all. The game is afoot, I see.
hi judi
Hi Judi

Is guru giving you punning lessons? (I'm terrible at puns)
ruru
(I hope he never sees my typo there; it might go to his head!)
Nef! Folks were asking about you earlier!
I felt my ears burning, Une (and welki and origami checked up on me too)
My brother has ALS; I've spent most of my spare time trying to help him find a clinical trial for some drug that might help him. But I haven't found any trials he'd be able to do & his health is going downhill fast.
Oh, nef, I'm so very sorry.... For you and for your brother :-(
Hi Nef - I was asking about you earlier here since I hadn't seen you. Thanks for the messages :D
I live 1100 miles from him (almost all of our other siblings all live within the same town though); I've been to see him 4 times this year; but I'm not able to help on a day-to-day basis; and he thinks he can still be "cured."
So I do this for him. Unfortunately, he's losing ground too fast. And Thanks, Une, ori, and welki for thinking of me. I've been her a few times but haven't been in chog & seem to be here when no one else is around
How sad and frustrating for everyone.....
Yeah, & he has 2 teens still at home (& a wife he doesn't get along with) :-(
things are good - miss2bit had school all the way through today, but tree is up, most gifts have arrived & ready, visited Santa yesterday
Oh, wow. Two teens. I thought he was older. So sad.
prayers for Nef & family
he's only 56 (the "baby" of our family)
Thanks dan2.
dan2; sounds like miss2bit is growing up fast! My grandson had school all through today too (he's in 4th grade now)
miss2bit is in 3rd - still a believer, though we suspect she may just not want to ask the direct question. We are fine with this :-)
I just checked, Grandson is exactly 1 year & 6 days older than miss2bit! his b'day is 5/2/09
hi everyone
(his mom is bipolar, & parents are divorced; things were tough on I'm for a while there) he doesn't believe; we had to tell him the Easter Bunny, Santa, the tooth fairy, and any other such fun things were all the parents.
Hi Jen!
Got snow up your way, Nef?
Hi Jen
Hi origami
Nope, we had snow, less than 2 inches, & we've had some light fluffs, but we've also had some rain/sleet; so we don't have much snow now
All of our snow is gone, doesn't feel like Christmas.
Sleet sounds awful. I have never been in it.
We've had so many grey, gloomy days here that it doesn't feel like Christmas here either
You've never seen sleet?
That's okay, ori. you don't want to be in it then. :-)
Typical winter weather here - upper 50s/low 60s
No you don't!
Never seen it. Don't care to either :D
Sorry, ori, that sounds BORING!!
I'll take boring over sleet any day :D
LOL!!
Drat! One of the dogs just threw up, BBS
I saw on the Internet that the actress that played Claire Huxtable's mother on the Cosby show has passed.
I'm off to work on a painting. Nice to see you folks.
UGH!! Here I am, a retired RN & I *still* Don't DO Vomit!!! (I hope it comes out of the carpet)
