Tablet is a word!
of course it is, and valid too
How are the ankles, sprite?
good news, Sue! The right one is out of the cast, and the left one is in a walking cast now. I am allowed to gradually start putting weight on it now. I can move around a little!
That must be such a reluef. I’m delighted for you.
it really is. Makes a huge difference. For me, but also for my beloved, who is not having an easy time with work, health and my injuries.
how are you doing, Sue?
I’m absolutely fine, thanks, sprite.
that is lovely to hear
phantom: ambush
*wonders why ambush and sprite fit so nicely in the same sentence*
{{{{{{{spritey}}}}}}}} what wonderful news. and well done you.
*giggles* Hello my dearest friend *hugs*. How was Fang's BD party and how are you and Don doing today?
thanks. Am so happy. I can navigate the caravan without walker now. And outside with walker, so much easier than before.
it went waaaay too late. but was an absolute blast. i'm a bit achy and tired. had gym this morning. and don has the level of the brickwork almost down to his knees.
when's the first shower? or has that happened already?
oh that is amazing! I am glad it was fun. Not all contacts with Fang are that happy ;) Well done on the gym, and I hope you are taking it easy most of the time now that the infusions are wearing off. Good man, Don!
first shower will be as soon as Rob feels up to visiting the special care shop here, to buy me a shower bag for the left leg.
poor fang. her eldest, a daughter has severe drug and personality problems. we have known that for years. she has now found out her beloved son is addicted to ice. she has him attending rehab.and he is trying very hard to get of the wretched stuff.
ugh, that is really horrible. Maybe he could find support in his struggle in Narcotics Anonymous.
my heart sank for her and her son. he was the most lovely vivacious kid. now he is a sullen, non-communicative man.
what happened, do you know? Or is it trauma from having Fang for a mother?
daughter was abused badly by her uncle, fang's and don's brother. he was a teen at the time. daughter blames fang for the abuse. although she never told her mother, she expected fang to stop the abuse...
son has been through a traumatic divorce, and then another disastrous relationship. plus, his hair has fallen out.
omg I am so sorry for them. That is so painful. And poor Fang. So hard to be blamed when you were never told. I think the daughter somehow needed her mother to notice, even though she didn't tell her.
that's been tough on the son as well. Once he is out of rehab, you may want to suggest NA to him. He can find lifelong support there from people who know exactly what he is going through.
i will suggest it to fang. i think the fewer people he is aware of who know what has happened the better.
hm, not sure about that, I think the more people know the better. But only if he tells them, of course, not from anyone else.
agreed. and it fang who told us... so we are going to keep mum for now.
indeed. Will hold them in my prayers, sweetie, if that's okay.
absolutely sweetie. and thank-you.
btw, don has asked how Rob is doing.
aw that is so sweet. Rob is not in a great place atm. He just heard that the place where he works now, where he is placed temporarily, will not be available much longer. He is down, crying a lot, closes himself off from me most of the time.

Morning all. Anyone have stats for the L please?
LE 4/5 and 5/12
Thanks, Christine!
You're welcome.
10 Us - geez! So far, I have two of them. Interesting grid
Trying to think if I know 10 U-words ... only two, so far.
8 are um words, 2 are us words.
Yeah, I have two UM words. I hate vowel words
Aaah - you're an Englishwoman in the US - I'm an American (now dual national) in the UK
Where are you, in England
I live between Staines and Windsor, not far from Heathrow
Where are you from originally?
The 3rd word is a shadow, 4th and 5th are two ways to spell pl word.
Bonjour!
The sun is trying to come out with minimal success
I have the shadow and the referee, also another word that I don't know what it means - ah, apparently it means this: an inflorescence in which a number of flower stalks or pedicels, nearly equal in length, spread from a common center.
I'm from London's East End; I've been in California for 58years.
I also have a colour, usually preceded by the word 'burnt'
Ah - I've been in the UK 31 years
I now have 6 Us. Woop
has spring arrived yet in the UK?
etamp
sorry
Sort of. Last week, we had two amazing days - up to 17C. This week it's nearer 11C with mixed sun and showers
Daffs are out though
I don't know about the UK, but it's 22 degrees here so a big hell no to the Spring so far
22F?? Argh. It's around 50F ish here
Hello rubyfoo ... in sunny California, it's raining yet again. Perhaps that should be still. I think we've broken our drought, and perhaps a record, for rainfall. Or maybe I just don't remember last years rain?
The daffs have formed buds, but it will be a few more days 'til they open
um 8,60 and um 9,78 same start as the colour but then an ending which means diminuitive or feminine
Our daffodils are coming up, but the weather is not matching their hopefulness.
Aaah - thanks EmaMaria!
Last year, old lady winter refused to take her gracious leave. We had snow the day after the first day of Spring. That was an insult.
At least, it's much less cold and l've made it through the winter although I had my doubts.
One year there was about a foot of snow on 16 April here and the tulips were open and weren't harmed
Last year the irises never even formed buds and there are three different clumps in v&rious parts of the garden
I've seen tulips with snow on them. They are pretty hearty little flowers.
Good morning. May I please have a clue for pr8-45? Thanks
I don't have it - I'm looking though
Thanks, matty.
pr 8/45 ... pr + vowel + flavour
Lovely - thanks!
Oh yeah, when you try the soup before it's done, I guess. Seems like a pretty weird word to me.
Thanks so much.....I was just about to start pulling my hair out ...I don't have that much to lose....LOL
Thanks to Molly also.
You can also find flavour again for a 7
Hello Peach
Hey there, ruby. How are you feeling today?
Rubyfoo -- last month, we had snow in Los Angeles county , the first time since 1961 the time before that was 1942 I think. My sister in England said this winter is so warm. The poor planet is suffering
l've been having a tough time with major pain -- 15-20 on a scale of 1-10. lt's nasty but l hope that it's "just" from the fall and not the cancer. l'mnot ready for the end!
l'll stop whining nd over-sharing.
<-- embarrassed
Oh, thanks,Matty for that other 7.
Oh Ruby, you would have to work REALLY hard to be the Queen of over-sharing here. I think there are some who have you beat by a mile. : D
Oh, no, Ruby. You need to get your pain controlled.
Hi all - sorry that you're having such a lot of pain Ruby. Sending you hugs.
Hi Liz. How has Thursday been?
l am very lucky to have such an assortment of friends who pray for me. Many different religions
Don't be embarrassed, ruby, a lot of us here have a lot of pain. We will help you in any way we can.
Thursday's been good. Got lots done - sorting out the garden and baking bread.
Hope you have a good Thursday over in Europe and the States (and anywhere else)
Ruby, you are truly suffering, not whining.
YOu've been through such a lot Ruby.
Liz, we are getting hit with more snow, which is great for snowshoeing, but will have a warm-up this weekend.
Ruby, I believe you should give serious thought to contacting the doctor and getting their butts on the ball here. Please let us know.
Binghamton had what seemed like endless winters. We used to joke 11 months of winter, 2 days of summer
I know you enjoy the snowshoeing - but the thought makes me shiver!
I like to snowshoe/XC-ski through March, if possible. And I recall doing so in the first week of April wearing a tee shirt.
They keep telling me to take more oxy!
You are amazing, scrabbler!
Yes, Ruby. You should be comfortable.
If it controls your pain and the doctor's are advising it, perhaps you should, Ruby.
I love the outdoors, I love being in the woods.
I've been XC skiing once and downhill skiing once but didn't get the bug. I also love being outdoors, preferably walking on the beach :)
Have a safe night/morning/day, ladies; I'm saving 92for tomorrow.
I haven't downhill skied since 1983 and I am too afraid of getting injured.
l loved downhill skiing, but didn't start 'til l was 32 as l Always thought of it as a "rich man's sport"
Enjoy your day, Christine
God bless
Ruby, I agree with Liz.....just be sure to chart when and how much you take.
(Christine)
It takes a lot of money to ski, even to rent equipment and get lessons. Buying your own gear is really expensive.
At 32, my son was 12 and l thought that even if it was beyond y means, it was Worth it to have a shared activity
A pair of ski boots can be $500+.
lt was less expensive in 1975 and l stopped eating any meat to save money
Oh, yes. But now the costs are so high.
oops
27 left. Not seeing any more, so I'm off to read for a bit. Enjoy your days / nights and I hope you feel much better soon, Ruby.
Bye, Liz. I am stuck with 173 to go.
bye Liz; l'm still on the first column, so "only" 202 words left. LOL
100, time to get ready for work. Enjoy the day. Ruby, get comfortable, please.

Whoop!
Actually a hat, but I'm not Thessalian
My son had to make a pe7 for his class Classical Mythology Fair. We used a metal mixing bowl. I have a photo somewhere of him wearing this that I am saving for future blackmailing purposes.
That sounds like a great plan, Natasha.
haha Nef
My kids are grown; but maybe I can do something like that the my grandson when he gets lips with me when he hits his teen years.
Mine's nearly grown but there are still times I wish for a magic wand to pull actual information out of him
stuck on the last 2 st8,50. clue anyone?
Our son & grandson live with us right now; and the grandson is 9 years old. There are times when I feel the same way about him! "How was school today?" And (at 9) he just grunts & won't say!
Sorry, Natasha; I don't have it yet
'sOK Nef
I'm looking for it though; so if I find it; I'll let you know
ooh just monkeyed one of 'em
st8/50: Most of dried grass + something you sometimes do to potatoes.
Thanks, Gillie!
that's the one I got... looking for the other one! :-)
s + Greek letter + two letter abbreviation that goes before a man's name + Chicago train
wow molly, fabulous clue. Thx! hagn all!
Thank you Molly. Great clue.
Cannot imagine ever using either st8,50 word... but you never know when you might need a bingo in Scrabble!
I can't think of ever using those words in a conversation; but I can think of a person who might be considered an st8/50 for causing a st 8/50! ;-)
ishe
(sorry, not a word either)
FW
YAY, gapeach!! WTG!!!
Thanks, Nef.
How are you doing these days?
BRB
back. (Darn dogs barking at something outside...)
I'm new to this game. Can anyone please explain the abbreviations in the chatterbox? eg 2nd re7
LuluP, 2ndre7 means the second w7 letter word starting with re.
and whenwe put ba 6/24 that means it's a 6 letter word with the point totals equaling 24 points
lulup if you look in the box at the bottom right you'll see Lickety's Babble Clues. That's an alphabetical list of the words in the grid. So when someone says 2nd re7 they're referring to that list.
sorry, bottom left
Thanks Nef and Is1 for your help!
