So frustrating for you Diz. Hope it's not too much longer.
sc7
th7
ji 7
wonder why the th10 extension to th7 isn't a word...
because it's -ian, not -ist
If you google the th 10 with the -ist ending, it's accepted in some dictionaries - but not enable, of course!
Clues are up
have seen both and google ngrams has seen -ist though at a much lower rate... and enable's been known to accept equally-rare words
Thanks, Lickety
i'm kind of ok with rare things that don't count. kinda wish there were more of them, lol
yeah enable, be consistent!
lead singer in Greek opera...co 9...nbt/nbs
WTG Diz

i haven't done a lot today. BUT.... i have found out why my heart failure has been playing up. the inflatable airbag under the foot of the mattress had started to deflate. pumped it up some more last night... hey presto feet right size and no sign of wheeze.
ah wonderful! That is good news. What a difference it makes, doesn't it. I have my feet up ever since the fall and I might make it permanent
and... darn it..... cardiologist says i may cease my anticoagulant for 5 days before my gastroscopy and colonoscopy. which means i am going to be okay for THOSE procedures next wednesday. yuck, yuck, yuck

xoxoxox to a fab gal.
am gonna try to wash the dishes. Bit of crafting, am making stuff for the wild life rescue next door atm. And some phonecalls to make and maybe trying to get the volunteer telephone stuff going on our new router.
hope to see you tomorrow! Will be here one hour after the flip as usual. *hugs*
seeya!
Now I'm really pissed at Enable. There is a perfectly legitimate th10 in the grid. I was so excited to find it (a rare find for me!) and then --- it's not acceptable. Phooey.
I agree. That th10 is recognized by every other dictionary. Sadly, Enable picks and chooses what it "recognizes".
I imagine the argument would be that it should end in ian.
hello all
Howdy :-)
how's it going today?
Ok....just 2 to go!
well done!
Fw!

luv, that was an AMAZING clue - thank you!!!! would never have monkeyed it!
that was a great clue that I understood, but I still had to look it up. thought I tried every combo possible for the 3 vowels, but apparently I didn't
oooh just found the gerund ending, that resulted in a jump in words! huzzah!
Yes, it was nice to find that ending.
wahoo! Just mis-typed something, and it took! LOVE when that happens! and hello, new jo4!
I have no patience today for 4 letter words...

Done...See you all tomorow...bzz...
years ago when swearing was taboo on TV we had a fabulous series called Porridge(slang for prison) and one insult was 'evil scroat' -in the grid- and my favourite 'charmless nerk'!!
we say scroat here too.....well, some of us do, lol
do you have any charmless nerks though Trif!!
i certainly know a few, yes! lol
this grid lured me in, once again.....seems easy enough at first, not such a high word count, you can do it, trif.....SLAM. Gridlock!
hi trif did it start out easy and then turn ugly like yesterday's did for me?
ugly as handmade sin
I take it that's not a good thing?
nope
so far not much fun for me
oles

trif too funny and i agree. That song Jolene is so good
Ha5/12, etc. Hawaiian slang for off-islander.

trif lol
Thanks Judi!
ty judi
nice one, judi thank you!
a student tipped me off to the line up for Woodstock 2019, which is a big 50th anniversary thing, and now im obsessed. If you have the time, I highly recommend looking it up
Dolly Parton Wrote 'Jolene' and 'I Will Always Love You' in the same single day in 1972, apparently
mind you, at this point I would happily go almost anywhere - been working 12+ hour days for over 2 months now. ugh
i knew she wrote both of those songs and two of the songs i love
trif do you have sucker written on your forehead?
no. "broke" yes.
isn't that the same thing?
no. I'm broke for reasons WAY beyond me being a "sucker"
ohhh
and I am working my arse off until I am out of the hole. Seems adult to me
stats for the e pls?
Trif has children. No further explanation needed.

Coating
The 9 is one weird ass word
it's greek
being half greek has its avantages
Yes, but the Greeks have not cornered the marked on the drama chorus. Plenty of that right here on the internet. : D
especially around the flip
Why won’t it accept ‘theologist?’
It uses the same o twice, Chess...
Not if you use the o in the left column first then the one in the middle?!
you're right-- I don't know, then-- spelling is correct, I think...
Enable dictionary is a strange beast-- I think it's a legit word-- scratching head...
Can we tell Lickety that they missed a word?
I just googled it, & it is, indeed a "real" word...
enable doesn't believe in god :D

a th7 adheres to a th4---y
She was in Houston for a while last month.
wth are you talking about?
Start with the formal first name of Teddy Roosevelt; end with the Star Trek captain's *** that he kept (like a ship's diary)
The th7 is a religious word that is sometimes a th9 ending in ue
thanks, nrkii :)

And sorry, to be more specific, start with just the first 4 letters of Teddy's formal first name
that star trek reference was batter
np seain, I liked your clue
np seain, I liked your clue

yo4.9 rhymes with yo and ends with two consonants, not plural
how can it end in two consonants but rhyme with yo
use morewords or a to z
those consonants are often silent, as in bread dou**
oohhh
got it
morewords.com is your friend , or a to z words, if you prefer.

Thanks, Lynnx. I needed the one in which the last vowel is changed. I think there's another 6/21 between those?
Ooh, I got it! Fireworks. Thanks, Lynx.
congrats
yay pjd
ho6/27 - really?! ho5/16 is bad enough - it's a proper noun, really, even if it is in common use. But how would you conceivably use the plural?
an ah4.7 to remind us of Rennie
indeed so, Lyn! She is not forgotten. <3
oh, and a happy solstice to all!
What are the stats for the Js? Please.
lower-case defintion from MW: an encyclopedia of the rules of indoor games and especially card games

I don't think it is supposed to stand alone :)
The Enable Word List creators made their own rules.
FW, finally. Would've never gotten that c9 without the "clue".
not me....can someone please clue it?
would love the C word clued and also what is second letter? ty
co9/84
I only found it on More Words, I can't even think how to clue it.
that ol word is so bizarre.
I read an earlier clue, starts with a character from Boy Meets World.
... just checked ... at 11:52 in the chat ... somebody gave up trying to clue it and just spelled it out
what is boy meets world?
... old tv show
It was a TV show in the 90s I believe
I would have clued the first part the two...Feldman and Haim...I think they are better known
Sorry...wandered for a bit. Yes, thank goodness someone typed it this a.m.
well that doesnt help me at all. hmmm........
Good one
who are feldman and haim? wow, i feel like i am from outer space.
Not one for popular culture I guess :)
are they police? lawyers? doctors? thiefs?
actors....
It is a word that not many people know. If you do a Google search on Feldman and Haim, it comes right up. Google search is such a handy thing.
Actors, child actors
Why would anyone clue policemen, lawyers, doctors or thiefs?
th7, please?
Why doesn't theologist work?
take off the last three letters and that works....
Definition of CO 9/84 - the plural of a leader of a chorus
so how does that fit in to the co 9 word please? just googled them and read.
Well Marc, it looks like you have the th7
The first 4 letters are their first name
I typed it into more words and found a nine letter word that fit.
It also ends with 3 vowels
thanks
i still dont get the co at all.
Did you go to more words?
there are 872 co words that are 9 letters in more words. so what good is that?????
I have 25 left to find and I think I am stuck
Type in these actors first name..
i thought collegues or some such thing.
i just dont know anything about the co word.
