anyone have the lone r?
hello wordies, i have a question that i'm hoping someone can help me understand
nm just got it
Not me
my sister was asking for my help with a crossword puzzle
this one clue was "the N in N x P" and the answer was CAPTOR. we would like to know WHY that is the answer, what is it all about??
Ra 7/32
r
I've set my hubby to thinking about it Hurshy. He says it sounds vaguely familiar - but don't hold your breath.
thanks - thank him for pondering it :)
well, it popped up in the search, so others have searched as well - N x P seems to be used in probability and the binomial distribution. But nobody is mentioning that N is "captor."
That's what we've found too. But no mathematical reference to captor.
yeah, that's what's weird, it's on "crossword puzzle answers" kinda pages but like NOWHERE else
and those pages don't explain the answers
if it were newer, we might get the answer on Rex Parker's page but it's a puzzle from 2000, and his blog only goes back to 2006
first thought regarding N x P was semiconductors, but P would be the electron-holes/"acceptors" (effectively electron-captors), not N
yeah i saw things about semiconductors, as well as things about binomial probability distributions
meanwhile, left 2 cols grey
ap9 = goes with pa8 !!
not seeing that ra7 for the lone r though
oh no wait
i forgot that i found that, lol
noisy kind of word

actually, what i don't have is some other ra7

{{{{{{spritey}}}}}}}} how is my dear friend today?
*sigh* leaving a hug for sprite. xoxox
Sprite and grannyrose ... didn't you visit a couple if years ago? or was that another babbler visited sprite?
sorry, had to run for the bathroom. *hugs rose* Hello my dearest friend, thanks for your email. How are you feeling now?
Hi Christine, you are right, we visited a few years back as well.
Rose and Don were here for about 10 days and then we went to France for a few more days as well. We found out we click IRL even better than through the internet.
That's great. D'you remember, at one time, babblers in one area (Cincinnati?) used to meet for drinks and dinner. I think there were also meet-ups in the San Francisco area.
oh yes, and some in canada as well. We have a truly remarkable community here. So many lovely people and so many connections and friendships born from it.
I met some other babblers as well. Hurshy and I had tea here, and I met two other people who do not play anymore too. Also met up with a friend of loredana and his friends.
Lizlin and her husband and I met here as well, and had a lovely lunch together.
fireflies. Bye Christine! To you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night. *leaves extra big hug in chog for rose to find*
Early Easter surprise...Babble has risen!
LOL!
dr. god was unaware there was a problem...
Sorry for the downtime, folks. I didn't know the site was down. No one reported anything until about 5 mins ago. You all are too quiet and patient. :)
Guessing everyone thought someone else had reported it!
Ha! First time anyone has accused me of being quiet and patient.
Ok. Hopefully we're okay now. The server ran out of hard drive space. The chat log got corrupted. Hopefully nothing else did. (fingers crossed)

Either time would be welcome Ru. Will keep in touch re dates as it draws nearer and see what works for you.
i love that hotel.. they have a great bar downstairs too
doren and I went to the Boat house from there and that was fun too
Sounds good. Yeah, I missed the opportunity to meet Doren, Heather and a few others years ago. Now that I'm no longer working in the ER, I have a lot more free time. :)
Central Park is one of my favorite haunts with John and Snickers on the weekend. Love walking around rowboat lake.
Ok MOMA is on W 53 St. Not sure of the hotel but will pass the area when I next get Broadway tix. :)
It is the former W hotel. Not sure who bought it
