10:25 pm

hi nef

10:26 pm

Hi harp, how are you doing tonight?

10:26 pm

doggie and change last letter

10:26 pm

good nef!

10:26 pm

I was feeling pretty lonely here in the chog

10:26 pm

Hello all!

10:27 pm

Thank you!

10:27 pm

Hi stud! How are you doing this evening?

10:28 pm

Stid! (Sorry)

10:30 pm

I am well, Nef, finally had a doc take me seriously about the projective vomiting that I have experienced when taking iron supplements!! A new formulation was recommended (meant for bariatric patients) and it is working with only a bit of nausea sometimes. :-)

10:30 pm

glad to hear that stid

10:31 pm

We will recheck iron levels in June, but really hoping I won't need two-hour naps every day soon. Probably TMI... you? ***waves at harpjane -- I am playing percussion in the community orchestra again!!!!***

10:32 pm

Oh, stid! How awful that they didn’t listen to you! And I’m glad that there’s a type that works for you

10:33 pm

Yep. That gluten event in October just did a number on all my systems. :-( We are changing our protocols at home (gradually) to eliminate gluten from the environment and kitchen as much as possible. Once the kids finally move out, I think we will ban gluten products entirely.

10:34 pm

Most people get constipated from iron supplements; to have the projectile vomiting from it is different but I can see how it can happen.

10:35 pm

So, was there gluten in the iron supplements& was that the problem?

10:37 pm

No, I ate something coming home from visiting my grandfather in October and my normally very low vitamin D, iron (and others!) levels dropped to somewhat dangerous levels. Usually increasing dietary iron while supplementing with D makes it better. This time, it didn't. The D got back to normal, but the iron was rather alarmingly staying low.

10:39 pm

For half a century, iron supplements have made me more than nauseated and I wasn't able to take them and keep anything down. So I have avoided them by eating iron-heavy foods as mush as possible.

10:41 pm

I had my hubby in to the doc yesterday for a low ferritin level & she suggested taking vit. C with it (plus the vit. D3 he’s been on for so long. I guess the multivitamin isn’t enough to keep him within normal limits.

10:42 pm

Maybe add some vit. C also (just an extra 500 mg/day)

10:43 pm

And do you use a cast iron skillet also?

10:44 pm

I have found several vegan, gluten-free multivitamins to help with the malabsorption from the celiac. This iron comes with C. I also supplement with Ca at a different time of the day... when foods aren't nourishing, I know what to do. :-) Thanks.

10:44 pm

I just wish I had known about the celiac issue a few decades ago... :-(

10:45 pm

mi5/14?

10:45 pm

a type of pie? with spices and apples and raisins, I think.

10:46 pm

thanks. don't like that pie so I guess I blocked it out!

10:47 pm

LOL I read a lot of Bea Potter as a child, and I was SURE that pie was made of mice.... **yuck face**

10:48 pm

Dang! Typing in the wrong box again to chat! :-/

10:48 pm

funny

10:49 pm

Stid, does celiac run in your family?

10:50 pm

No, I am the only person I know of! However, I suspect there are milder versions (or simply less self-aware folks).

10:53 pm

Oh! Great answer! I have a friend who insists that no one in her family has it either; but then went on to say her mom didn’t make or buy bread, etc.

10:53 pm

I am disappointed (speaking of bready topics) that panini doesn't count....

10:54 pm

Why does te5/20 count?

10:55 pm

because Babble says so???

10:55 pm

:-) With our modern lives and the availability of OTC cures/treatments for so many things I suspect a lot of folks simply mask symptoms and don't connect them to other ailments that are later triggered.

10:56 pm

I think because it means a deck on a riverboat?

10:56 pm

I looked it up because I thought I remembered a nautical use. :-)

10:56 pm

LOL, Gemini! I’ll stay away from *that* topic this evening I guess!

10:57 pm

:)

10:57 pm

oooh! Found im 7/36

10:57 pm

hello gemini

10:57 pm

HI

10:58 pm

only 80 words left! *bounce bounce* lots of blank tiles though

10:58 pm

hmmm I'm at 66 and the couch is calling me

11:00 pm

50 left here and I'm really stuck!

11:00 pm

I have 74 words left. No blank tiles; but several with just 1 word

11:03 pm

go harp go! go NEF!!!!

11:03 pm

There are 2 I’m 7/36s. Just change the last letter

11:04 pm

thanks Nef!

11:04 pm

You can do it too, stid. You’re much faster than I am at finding words. :-)

11:05 pm

hi all. any clues for the 8s?

11:05 pm

hello mkg, I don't have those yet

11:05 pm

I don’t have any 8’s yetmkg. Sorry

11:06 pm

di8/50, is an organ stop, or musical term

11:06 pm

os 7/32 and pl. Bone related. Ends with not "pa"(s)

11:06 pm

os7-8 is related to bones

11:06 pm

thanks harp!

11:07 pm

and thanks for the di 8!

11:07 pm

:-)

11:07 pm

hello rbud!

11:08 pm

ty. got the os 7 and 8

11:09 pm

organ stop is confusing me. as in heart stopping? or the musical instrument?

11:09 pm

hiya, stid, and everyone else :)

11:09 pm

Thanks for the os7/8. That’s actually a tumor

11:09 pm

yes it is a tumor. but that di need another clue.

11:09 pm

oh, sorry.....

11:09 pm

Hi rbud.

11:09 pm

se6/33?

11:10 pm

nm

11:10 pm

mkg: latin for day. abbreviation for pennsylvania. 3/4 of a tune.

11:10 pm

ooh, thanks for that one harpjane!

11:12 pm

It's not the name of an instrument, but it's on the organ stop. Most organ stops are names, "flutes" "Reeds" etc.

11:12 pm

BTW, my hubby gave me an iPadfor our 44th anniversary a few weeks ago &I don’t know how to turn off autocorrect on it yet. I also don’t know how to copy the list here to add to lickety’s list all at once; so any hints would be much appreciated. Thank you.

11:13 pm

i am lost. dont know what an organ stop is. dont know 3/4 of a tune.........stumped still.

11:13 pm

first world problems, nef....

11:14 pm

LOL Nef, happy anniversary! autocorrect will be part of settings, I think.

11:14 pm

mkg baseball field is a ***mond, + not ma+ not daughter

11:15 pm

ty jane. got it in two seconds. ty so much.

11:15 pm

never saw it before. sorry to all musicians. i never was one.

11:16 pm

to copy/paste on the ipad, you can long hold on a word and then extend the highlight by dragging the little dots at the ends. when you release the highlighted area it automatically gives a little menu that includes things like copy... then put the cursor where you want to put the text, and long hold. A different menu will pop up with the option to pa 5

11:16 pm

Harp, I have *lots* of first world problems these days! ;-D

11:17 pm

lol

11:17 pm

go5/24?

11:18 pm

like the sa 5

11:18 pm

Thank you, stid! I do try to hold my finger on the list (or whatever); sometimes it helps & sometimes it doesn’t work.

11:19 pm

any clues for the C word? ty

11:19 pm

There should be some video tutorials available through the apple website or youtube as well, Nef. Tech is "easier" only when we know how to use it!

11:19 pm

thanks

11:19 pm

I need that one as well mkg

11:20 pm

Italian hello or goodby

11:20 pm

ci4/5 adios in Italy

11:20 pm

ty got it.

11:20 pm

thanks harpjane and Nef!

11:20 pm

that's NBT for me. also NBS.

11:21 pm

great stid!

11:21 pm

i still need i word for the second row, 5th column i. clues weclome with stats.

11:22 pm

Stid, I am signed up for a class on it; but not until the end of May! It seems to be a very well-known class & everyone wants to take it!

11:23 pm

in5, part of a map sometimes?

11:23 pm

In5/10 is a sewing term I think

11:23 pm

try this Nef: https://support.apple.com/ipad and email or fb message with questions. I will be available evenings.

11:25 pm

ty. trying to find it.

11:27 pm

got it. ty

11:27 pm

still need E word for top row e please. ty.

11:28 pm

ep4/6

11:28 pm

Thanks, stid. I went & bought a case for it right away, but wouldn’t you know it? It’s a right handed case & I’m a lefty!

11:29 pm

stupid me. ty jane. how did i miss it? ty.

11:29 pm

Ep4/6, mkg

11:29 pm

found some simians

11:29 pm

Turn the case 180 degrees, nef...

11:30 pm

the screen should turn to suit the way you are holding it

11:33 pm

Stid, the buttons won’t be accessible if I turn the case, & it won’t prop up the iPad for evading, etc if I turn the case over. The home button is on the right; I just have to laugh because my sister & my sonsiPad cases can flip whichever way they want; but mine doesn’t.

11:34 pm

Reading, not evading. 🙄

11:36 pm

I see. What kind of case did you get, if you don't mind my asking? Most cases are going to allow you to put the button on the left without changing how the ipad sits in it.

11:37 pm

(I’m the one who should know better; I just didn’t think about how it would work when I saw the words “Clearance sale”

11:37 pm

ooooh.... hold on.

11:38 pm

clue for the e at the bottom center? for nbts....

11:39 pm

It’s a Solo brand; copper gold colored metal case. Very pretty; but a right handed case

11:39 pm

I might have one that meets your needs... or Tom might. Message me the size and model of your ipad, and what features you want (protection from dropping, holding at multiple angles, keyboard?) and I will go through our stash in the next couple weeks.

11:39 pm

ex4

11:40 pm

Roses, ex 4/10. A test

11:40 pm

those are lovely cases!

11:41 pm

thanks nef. upper right I left....

11:43 pm

It’s very pretty. My son says I’ll soon want a keyboard for it; so I’m just going to learn with this case, get through the class, & then decide what to do next.

11:44 pm

I think what you will find if you turn the case so the button is on the left is that the sound buttons will be on the bottom (harder to reach)

11:44 pm

got it! NBT and NBS. Onward ever!

11:45 pm

go roses go!

11:46 pm

14 left

11:46 pm

My laptop is about to die... (((Nef))) welcome to the tablet world! :-D Happy to see you all today! Go HARPJANE!!!!!

11:51 pm

Go harpjane! You can do it!
