I am still having to deal with my crazy ex-husband. My house is still on market and my crazy ex is being quite difficult about it.We had a buyer and lost them in May because ex refused to allow contracts to be sent out.I have another buyer and the ex is refusing to fix things in house.I am afraid that we R going to lose 2nd buyer

The good news is I am officially divorced. Took Judge 5 months to sign the papers.The bad news is I used up the rest of my retainer.If I want to continue to have a lawyer, I have to pay another $2,500 retainer.I do not know what to do and if it would be worth it.PLUS I am still trying to pay off her first retainer and then some.

I finally got to the point in retirement where I don't feel like I have to justify my existance. I am enjoying life doing all kinds of things that I want to do but never had time before.

I’m trying to move to some sort of senior housing in our area; I’d love to sell our house but the son & grandson both have to move out first.
That is a tricky one Nef. You have needed help with your hubby for a long time so senior housing will answer a lot of your needs but you hate to put your children out. You have offered the little guy the best start by giving him a stable home but you can't be expected to do it forever.
I hope they can find an affordable place near to where you will end up so you can still have lots of visits.

Min, my son is 40 years old & is still ADHD. He’s making good money but is bad at saving and managing his finances.
Well done indeed! Please tell him I am very proud of all his efforts. My kids never got past yellow belt in TaeKwonDo because they didn't have the discipline to practice. Straight A's is a huge accomplishment too.

ADHD creates so many problems around organization. One of my boys just got married to a woman who has it but she actualy paid a life coach to help her find ways to manage it and make her life better. She wanted to manage her money and use her time at work better. I was so proud of her for thinking of doing this and for following through. My stable son came into her life not long after she made these changes and they are very happy together.
But this evening he just told me he’s got 1 school loan left to pay on, and that loan totals exactly $.04 (4 cents)! Our house is a 1950’s 3 bedroom rambler with a large addition & we’re 2 blocks from an elementary school. The house across the street sold for the high $300K. My son doesn’t have enough money saved for a downpayment like that.
You mean your son has paid off all his debts now? That is terrific news! It means he can manage his money now and I am sure he can get and keep an apartment for his son and himself. He doesn't need to buy something, just stay in one place so life stays the same for both of them. If you guys were within walking distance it would be perfect. Here is hoping for lots of good changes in Nef's family. Sending hugs to you all

But can you imagine that if you were paying off school loans& you saw that you would end up owing just a last payment of less that a dollar; wouldn’t you pay that in the second to the last payment so you wouldn’t have some sort of an interest payment tacked on it?

I just got a summer job teaching ESL to foreign students.
I really didn't want to have to be a camp counselor again.
I would think the last job any teacher would want would be camp counselor?!
I was so MISERABLE last summer! All the other counselors were young, fit and in shape. I was old and out of shape.
I was running around with a bunch of little kids for 8 hrs.
I was huffing and puffing running around in 90 + humidity
That is a job for younger people— unless you’re the camp doctor (& you wouldn’t have to run anywhere)

My ex-husband used my alimony $ to pay mortgage while he lived there. He moved out and got an apartment. Now we both have to pay half of the mortgage plus our rent.
