Hitting a 7 every day is too much and too exhausting. And I'm a tad cranky cuz it has been in the mid 100s for days. I can't translate to celsius...

no need, that is about as hot as it is here. Over 40 Celsius. Way way too hot, especially when it is humid too. And pain is exhausting. I know! Am so sorry you have to struggle with that and are not even getting the medication you need. Can you go another route maybe? Find another kind of doctor/specialist who will prescribe and make sure you get the meds?
You too?!! I know London has been really hot, didn't know how much of Europe has had the bad heat.
it has been horrible. You wouldn't believe how my ankles looked... I was just like an elephant. And bad pain. Today is supposed to be at least 9 degrees cooler though! If the thunderstorms come as promised, I will be a happy puppy.

I get massage and chiro. I'm going to try to start acupuncture again. The only "pain management" I could get into scared me off.

My feet are like sausages and I can only wear sandals that adjust 3 ways. How's your foot doing?
all good things, but with the pain you have, they might not be enough. I was hoping you could find a specialist who will give you the stronger painkillers, like oxycodone, and allow you to pick them up at the pharmacy of the hospital, for instance.
I have emailed her twice and no response at all, which is not at all like her.

no, only in one ankle. I think it is because of the insane swelling. Bet it is putting pressure on the screws and that is what is hurting so badly. If I can sit with my feet up today (which means no 40C!), the swelling should go down and things should start getting better.
I was going to pipe in on that convo, but after she left, I didn't. My mom had dementia - undiagnosed "officially." Her mom did too, so I'm hoping that bypasses me when I get older.
I hate for rose to be feeling unhappy :( Have tried to reach her, asked her to tell me what was the matter and told her I love her... but still no response. Maybe she is too busy, I hope so.

I have done that! It helped for cooling down in general, but not for the swelling.

Maybe Rose has a bit of a raw nerve when it comes to dementia? It can be touchy with people who fear it may be in their future.

I don't know. Might be the case. It is a scary disease, in so many ways. My heart broke on seeing my friend. She has changed from a loving, active, successful woman into a egocentric, clinging child most of the time.

the weird thing is, she is a sacred dance teacher. And when she dances, or teaches, most of who she is comes back. She remembers a lot of dances. And she can even teach some of them still.
also, that is when she is happiest. The rest of time, she is either rather vacant, or she realises what is going on and is very sad.
Well, here's to the weather cooling off for everyone! I need to get ready for bed before I doze off at the computer. Sorry to hear about your friend. It was so hard with my mom - she treated me like I was a bad little child. The sad thing about that was that it became very obvious that she really did think I was a screwup as a kid. Still not sure why she felt that way - I got good grades. She thought I had personality flaws. Like everyone is perfect, lol!

She was inher mid-to late 80's when she passed. I remember chatting with her after a hurricane hit NYC. She lived on the 23rd story of a sky scraper there; they lost power and her son Bobby had been working. So she walked all the way down stairs to greet him when he finally got home and then they walked back up the 23 stories to their home. She was 84 at that time.
