not ringing the bell today lynxxx (you're probably not old enough to remember that commercial, sorry).
Got a few years on you Amelu - so I certainly do
LOL! Surely, not many.
17
Yeah, that's still not many but you would have to remember the commercial had you ever seen it, lol.
I was actually thinking of the Avon river in the UK - so old and famous thought for sure it would be a word. Never bought Avon products myself though I know they are still around down here
Nasty nasty day expected in NSW tomorrow ...they are already closing schools now. Geez
I remember the doorbell and the picture of the lipstick print... but anyway, they're all on the internet now... some who use is as 2ndary income bring the catalogs to leave in the ladies room at work but other than that, everything is at hand electronically... Ah, yes, I forget the river since the company is so prevalent here. Would love to see the river...
They are predicting it will be the worst bushfire day in Australia's history. I am not sure where everyone is going to go
It sounds so awful - dreading what tomorrow will bring. Sydney has a catastrophic warning :(
Hi Liz. Where exactly are you? I saw you commenting on the smoke when Noosa surrounds had fires a few weeks ago
Oh, jeez! I'm sorry, I don't follow much news (pretty much none) as it is always grievous. Will send up prayers for you all as well as those in our western states.
We’re not far from the NSW border. It’s smoky here but wer
We’re not in a danger zone.
Nearest fire is 30 km from us.
Noosa is in a bad way again I read.
Take care of your yourself though, that's not so far...maybe a trip down to Victoria
If we need to run, we will - in plenty of time. No heroics!
But I don’t think we’re in a high risk area.
Thanks for the concern.
My SIL is at Marcus Beach, was evacuated a month or so ago. At least this time the Noosa fires are north of that
I just hope everyone is safe. So sad about the wildlife though. Pretty awful in California again too.
We do have our burn bans here occasionally but thankfully not fires (in mass). Thankfully our biggest threat is hurricanes/flooding. Not fun but generally don't affect everyone in a 3-400 mi radius as fires can and do, unexpectedly.
Head of Fire Control NSW giving politicians a serve re Climate Change. HooBloodyRay
I agree Lyn
My home went up in flames in '93 (lightning strike during the day, no one home) so I have been through such but it was only my home and didn't impact any of the surrounding homes (thank the Higher Powers). I can't imagine that on a large scale. Extra prayers in the works.
No fun losing your home, under any conditions.
what a shock Amelu!
de5.18 at least was accepted
Thanks for that one :)
No idea on the pt combo listed before!
ma5.18, as well.
nasty smelling pt - I thought it was a poison but not according to the def
Common word?
I have heard of it - pt & you usually get a d***** name when you develop a website
add vowel for the 8 - and thanks for that hint!
New word for me but that helped. thanks
Yes, lynxxx, I received a phone call at 1400 from a neighbor to let me know, lol. there was a bad thunder storm that day and 4 homes were hit (I later found out). it was rather surreal.
I cheated on the pt's after I'd tried every combo my monkeys could find, lol. New to me, as well.
the word used to be associated with food poisoning and apparently I am old enough to remember that (haha Amelu)
BBL - have a good evening / night or day
lol! Not one I've heard lately, but now that you mention it...
you, as well!
Bye Liz
phantom: pantomime
ok, about 1/2 way and almost 0300 here. I'm off, will be back later. Good luck lynxxx ant Liz if you finish before I return (or even if not, lol). I didn't get to make my grape jam so I have to get on that when I wake up and get it out of the way (along with a couple of other things I've been putting off). hagd/e/n
bye Amelu - grape jam sounds good!
Clue for 1st column n please
bit hard to tell - try for the na5.16 - actually there are 2 of those which could come from there
Ive got 1 na5/16 but can’t see the other. The one I’ve got I would usually have a k in front of it and part of a church ( I think!)

I have family in Sydnet, but Don't know exaxtly where
Hard to clue it without giving it away. It’s a long consonant sound.
Hi Ruby...we are quite safe down here (bottom of east coast) it is middle and upper east coast (NSW & Qld) that re having all the troubles with fires. Sydney is in trouble especially tomorrow
They keep changing my meds and there seem to be too many peple involved
It's nice to be well cared-for, but they must think of me (on paper, at least) as some Daft, sick old lady
Can you not nominate one particular person?
The problem is that there are two local nurses, "libérales", who come every day and they seem to be in competition with the Hospital at <Home, which I guess is mor prestigious.
And then there's the oncologist who is in competition with the chief of the HAD (hospital etc.)
It's great care, but I think they're used to demented old people and I may be crazy, but I'm not demented. LOL
Maybe it's easier for them to deal with somebody stupid and passive
Ooh, a big grid.

i am SO looking forward to waiting for an hour in the mall at the apple store...
i'll have to update phone and laptop within the next year or so - will have to win lottery to afford to stick with apple. they're ridiculously expensive (but i've been happy with their products for 15+ years)
best buy had a macbook on sale for $200 under retail. not sure if a one day deal
the first laptop i purchased, a macbook, is still working (battery replaced, but that's all that went wrong with it)
my friend bought a newer model and used the parts to upgrade. or vice versa. was working on it for weeks.
he refuses to run the newest ios.
they are not supporting and forcing folks to upgrade.
i agree - i won't download catalina. it's very unstable and you'll lose itunes
(and there's a refurbished macbook here for $300, online only)
