hi Suz
can't sleep
hi p
i'm tired but waiting for the kit to wind down
kat
cat..geez
I'm still up, too, hi folks.
hi
hi rbud, hi all
stuck with 30 left, night all
The size of this made me SI**
Bea, the master gardener, will probably know those aj words. Me, I did not.
I'm struggling. I've only found 40 words
I am close, I have 47
Only have 4 and 5 letter words
me too sukee
Blacked out the 5th column :)
Half way and that was a struggle!
hello all I have 2 five letter words so far.. and as usual not happy with this size grid
back to finish. this is a really tough grid
Good morning, ladies.
good morning Bea
I am guessing and monkeying and some are being taken!
27 left but no list yet
it is very challenging
right and left columns gray, yay me!!
This grid seems a bit Irish, what with the first three cu words : )
MLF didn't you say you don't do grids under 100, or am I thinking of someone else
There are a lot of words I would consider gaelic.
This grid is very tough
first word I saw was a country - j - didn't know that was not a proper noun until I saw it in serpentine yesterday
Its an art procedure
That took me to 17. Thanks, Carla.
The J, G, and three Ps make this grid so tough, I think.
de nada
I have 6 total. hehe
and no e
I had to monkey half the J words to grey the tile.
just turned on the puppy bowl. I missed it on super bowl sunday. those announcers crack me up.
'morning, all
'morning welki
Good morning, welki.
btw, happy leap day, y'all!
Golly, struggled to find 38 words...
I am at 37 right now, so you have beat me :D
My youngest daughter was about born on this day. I told her I was glad she was 32 and not 8. =)
:D
lol, my dog is intently watching this puppy bowl
what sort of dog, hokie? dogs on tv drive my dog nutty
(did i use the word 'dog' enough in that post?)
I have a golden. he is cracking me up. he wishes he was playing football with them.
Bea's Joke of the Day : Why do ducks have feathers? To cover their butt quacks.
we've had goldens, too - the best dogs ever (for us), although they were all "the best" when we had them, no matter what the breed
of course when I tried to take a pic he turned away because people came on the screen
lol Bea! :-)
bea! that's on its way to one of my grand-daughters :D
lol, bea. did one of your grandkids tell you that ;-)
welki, they really are the best. I can't imagine a life without a dog.
wow, I actually found both the u's without trouble today
No, one of my young mother friends told it to her sons.
if i recall correctly, our golden was (very) distantly related to ru's monty
and i agree, hokie - we tried to make believe that we could carry on without a dog
aww. there is a golden database.(can't rem. the website right now) you can basically look up any golden that was registered with akc and see their family tree.
k9 database
my husband didn't want another after we lost our last one but my youngest son asked for one for his birthday and I wanted another. yes, I knew k9 was in the name somewhere.
k9data . com
Finally found more 47 than I have left 43...
I am at 42 but I got distracted looking at k9 data.lol
I went to the list with 10 left. Even then, it was a struggle.
just finished the 5th col!
what are these g's? I've found more j's than g's.
I can tell you that most of them are anagrams of each other.
I have 2 4's. I don't see any anagrams of those. will keep looking, thanks.
Try flipping the vowels.
oh, I had missed the one that is common in GF flour blends
those g's stink. there's only 2 5's and they're both plurals. use the last vowel
that one has an anagram
I have 6/7 now!
ap 5/14 please?
ap + buddy
thx, finished that a!
Do you have the gh?
thanks Bea
yes
2 gu, 3 ga
Use a different end cons on the gu
like bat poop but lose the last letter
gracias!
what is the stats for the i? p&ty
ig6/27
already tried isla ;-)
of course, thx
A lizard...
38 left. Gotta run, back later....
bye!
May your day be filled with joy!
13 left and stuck agaom
aw, thanks. you too!
I still have 24 to go, peri
may have to go to the list
I get the airfryer lid for my instant pot today. I'm excited!
has anyone said what the 7 is?
cu6/33 cu7/48 the seven is a plural. new words for me
cu6.33 and cu7.38
ooh, I have the slow cooker lid, didn't know they came out with an air fryer lid? do you have a newer model with air fryer function? mine is older and I saw they were coming out with a new one.
7.48 sorry
yes 7/48 oops for me too
no I was correct the first time
lol I was like, why are you oops-ing
I don't know who to believe! ;-)
I have a duo plus I think. Just the pressure cooker. But the company has made an airfryer lid to go over the pressure cooker.
I'll have to check into that
i tend to be a slow cooker naturally
let me know when you use it and what you make
ru, me too. anytime a recipe tells the total time, it takes me way longer
I'm going to fix chicken fajitas in the instant pot tonight. Then I'm going to air fry flour torillas for chips. Start out easy.
*heads to bea's house* *(bringing wine)
I steamed chicken wings in mine last week. I wonder if they could get crispy with that air fryer lid.
Yes, they do, Carla.
but then with the air fryer bea you gotta yell like the guy on tv
well, I can't seem to get the right combo for these cu words that aren't real. would love a clue.
cu + piece of leftover cloth + consonant
good clue ruru. I already had them tho. are you done?
got it! thanks
no... i just got here.. down to 17 but it's harder now
was trying to put the last 2 letters after the cu
down to 10 left
(realizes that leaves a joke opening for Molly)
and really stuck
bbl
well, I've been here a while and you have already passed me, ru. 22 left.
Tx for cu words, ru!
yw une
great now i gotta get below 10 before i list
I'm surprised joan isn't a word since so many names are
I made it to 20. is this updating riveting or what
i am on the edge of my seat hokie
I hope you don't fall off, it's going so slow
19!
i've decided the people who developed windows ten really think differently than the rest of us and have 20/20 vision
I hate windows ten
hello
me too.. still trying to get used to it
I have been Mac so long, I have no idea. My mom will ask me computer questions over the phone and I'm like, I don't know windows anymore.
good morning to
what up, TO
good morning. i was just speaking about you.
me? or ru?
who me?
ru. hi carla
gaur
uh oh then
dare I ask?
18 left
missing one w. I would ask if there were any weird ones, but I already have 3 weird ones
i just found some really odd a's
we went to the state store because it's the lap day sale and i mentioned some advice you had given about being able to find good wine at moderate prices. hope i did not misquote you
LEAP day not lap day. one guy bought over $700 of wine
oh.. did you find any of them?
still missing 2 a's from top and 3 from left. will try to make up odd ones.
i am not a wine drinker. i bought liquor.
oh
and harveys
harveys is wine sorta
it was so long ago the ones you had recommened - rose- were out for the season. yes, i guess it is. my friend bought port, chianti, and harveys
btw, 17!
hence i asked for recommendations for wines to bring to open houses, etc at the time
ah.. well any time.. i try new wines all the time
i need one more to get below ten
I'm heading out for the day. Back tomorrow with another JOD. =)
bye, bea!
JOD?
i stopped bringing it for holidays since my host is a wine snob. this was the exact conve we had, and you excoriated him and said wines do not have to expensive to be good
jumble of the day? job of the day?
yes.. i will always do that SNobbery with wine is just stupid
Joke of the Day
ah, perfect
16!
it's condescending and demeaning and really irritating too
i was so confused- my friend who had come to but wine said the small store had a huge selection.
ungrateful and disrespectful to your guests too
i think it's just plain rude.
must go, need to make something for tonight's dance and pot luck. it's mardi gras - a little late. morrocan carrot salad i think
bye!
and me without a food processor. i hope i don't lose a finger.
later
good luck with that
yeah. we don't want to start calling you Frodo
*waiting for the bad puns*
we were at the state soter at 9 when it opened. like a couple of derelicts.
my brother lost a fingertip at work years ago and I can't tell you how many times he's like, "oh, I just cut my finger off" in the kitchen, etc.
that's kind of funny
to's comment not your brother's loss hokie
oh, it's fine if that's funny. he's trying to be funny.
my grandfather worked in a lumber yard and lost one to the joint. we kids thought it was funny
i've managed to keep all my fingers through life.
my uncle lost several fingers at work and we kids thought it was funny, but he is the dad joke uncle so is always trying to be funny.
nowadays folks would be all "ehy didn't they sew it on? why didn;t you fix it?"
they couldn't do my brother's for some reason. I don't remember. I think because of where it was, plus he's diabetic so I think it would've had a tough time healing.
well, I'm throwing in the towel and going to the list
seriously - when we were kids we would see all kinds of anomalies and just accepted them. a few years ago i saw someone with what i would consider a deformity and it just jarred me. funny how we bevome conditioned.or perhaps it's just my weirdness.
we went to a flea marktet and folks were camped out a 5:30AM in the 28 degreee weather to be first in line. no wonder we headed to the liquor store afterwards, it was so mobbed
that's insane
nobody's junk is worth that early and that cold
that surely is nuts..
really. they took turns standing in line while the others went to their cars
ok, went to the list and already stuck on the first two
the funny thing is my friend is one who does that marie kondo crap. every time i pick something up she asked me where i will put it or what i will do with it, do i really need it, etc
heading out.. have fun you guys
me too. happy babbling.
adios! 12 left. I'm gonna finish with the list.
help with the aiarvos
be more specific?
finally done..think I need glasses, thought I needed ai words when it was aj :(
I was like, you have an a word in your request :D
:)
whew, finally finished. I think 14/16 of the words I needed were things I've never seen before.
til tomorrow!
Fireworks here - but goodness the last 15 or so words were (to me) unheard of - thank you Lickety
hello friends! I feel like today, for me, just hitting nbt was a win! oof, what a grid!
hello everyone
hey nan
have 38 left from last night, but not seeing anything more -- guess I need to list
40 left here, seeing from the chat that the list is a necessity today!
just went to the list - first thing missing is aj 5 & 6 --- aaack!
... a + a container for liquids particularly milk + a vowel ... and plural
ty dos
... there's a prize somewhere for anyone who can honestly say they've heard of it before
I have it growing in my yard. Quite common word for gardeners.
dos, give the lady her prize!
lol
I think I've heard that word before, it's a blue flower like bluebells.
... well, there's a prize in it somewhere ... all I can offer is "well done"
always just called it a weed!
it's more like ground cover i think. vicuna?
pu 5/24, pls
Yeah, it's a weed in my lawn. But I let it be because plenty of people plant it on purpose for a ground cover. It has pretty flowers.
bichon, it uses the high-point tile
i have a plural pu 5/24, it involves the highest point tile
pu + German affirmative + plural
... pu4/11 ... pu + Germanic for "yes" ... and plural
there's also pu5,26... change the last letter
I need the 5/24
Ooh, thanks lilmonkey.
ooh thanks monkey
yw
jinx vicuna!
did u get it bichon
... and you can plural that one too
.... must be off ... luck to all who continue the struggle ... ... and it is today
oh wow thank u dos, I had not pluraled the pu5,26
bye dos
Bye, dos.
ty all, ggot it
no idea what german for yes is

Morning. Stats for the 7, please?
oh - got that one, I think
Oh, so it's a Hindu/Irish kind of grid. (Pictures Ganesh with a shamrock necklace)
It is cu7/48
looks like cu, biltong
ty, Vicuna and Leslie
thought that cu 6-7 had a double consonant in it
That's how I've seen it spelled, cybernan. I suppose this must be a variant.
It usually does Nan. I have no Idea how Enable digs up it's approved spellings. Probably something from the 16th century.
gur is a word -- it means ground under repair
not only that, if there is gur - that is where my golf ball will be
May I please have a clue for the cu7?
it is a plural of the 6 -- a small boat (irish/gaelic word) - begin with a mutt and end with a sound of satisfaction
ty, nan
yw
10 left
If anyone has seen "The Secret of Roan Innish", wee Jamie's boat was a cu6
ty, Molly
ty Molly

*!*~*!* this one can only be described as creative
fireworks!
I feel like this one was in a foreign language.
^5 monkey
It was funnish, but wouldn't have been fun if it had been 390 words.
No one seems to be liking this grid. Or referring to it as "easy peasy".
Def not easy peasy. More like witty shitty.
Has anyone heard from Ruby? I haven't seen her here in a few days. I don't want to ring any alarm bells. I know she has health issues. I just get concerned when she doesn't check in for a while.
I haven't heard from her for two days.
Ah, wait. She just made a move in a game we play online.
Oh good, thanks Origami. Good to know she is okay.
ori.. i have to give you a call later what's a good time?
Ja5 please?
ja5/22 - black varnish named for its Asian country of origin
Ru - any time is fine

slang for afternoon

just too many vowels really.. grids with lots of vowels are especially challenging
Fw!!

you and you consonant stream of puns
:D
3 to go
2 to go
32 to go...
fw....the 7 is a bit odd
Not for the Irish.
it;s all greek to me
*Dishes up some moussaka and boxty
Molly, what is boxty, pleae?
Moussaka I know and love but have not heard of boxty
Flosey boxty is a potato dish made from cold mashed potatoes and flour and fresh grated potatoes etc.
oh i thought boxty was a salad made by Mike Tyson
good one ruru
served in a ring too
thanks Smdnjv,
yw
