I planted dianthus, dusty miller, some ground cover I had never seen (Grace Ward something?) and a rhododendron. will get some lantana to fill in between the ground cover and another rhododendron.

the big "garden" news here is that we are adopting two goats. Met them yesterday - total sweethearts! Spending the next couple of days getting things ready for their arrival
in the deck beds, I planted 3 tomato plants and 3 strawberry plants (covered in netting but I'm sure the squirrels will still get), a basil and a romaine, though I think lettuce does better in the fall.

One old lady asked a man toting a huge pack of toilet rolls if she could buy two off him. he wouldn't agree. I am appalled at what the British have become.

the grocery store's profit margin doesn't change if we buy them out of a product all at once or over weeks or months. the profit comes further up the supply chain as demand to restock increases

The good news is that my friend Jameson and I will remain on friendly terms for another few months. No lines or empty shelves at the liquor stores here...yet.

I would guess grocery store profits are up. People are buying more than they usually do and people who don't usually buy food (eat out a lot) are stocking up on things.
I know I spend twice what I usually do in a week, adding non perishable foods and extra soap, toothpaste and such.
I wonder what it says about us, as a society, that when shortage is threatened, the thing we hoard is toilet paper. : D

The guy in the liquor store said Pennsylvania is just shooting themselves in the foot. People in Pennsylvania who can't get liquor are just going to drive down to Maryland to get it. Thus increasing the amount of people out and about, where they are and who they come in contact with.

I'm dreading all operations being cancelled. My hubbie is waiting for a part to be made to have part of an implant in his leg replaced. It's still another 5 weeks to surgery and he's at huge risk of his leg being amputated if it fractures before the part is replaced. It's a huge worry for us.

It is. He had bone cancer diagnosed about 18 months ago and we still don't seem to be out of the woods yet. No cancer, but still living with the disability for the time being. I hope they class it as urgent surgery and he'll get it done

It is, and it would probably have been operated on apart from the lead time to make the part. 6-8 weeks from the date the surgeon gave the go ahead, although I suspect that she is already chasing it up to see how long it will take them to deliver
