What could cause extreme eyelid swelling up?
Pouring rain here.
The white of my eye is still white, so not pinkeye.
One eyelid? Big bite or a stye?
Left upper eyelid, it was mild yesterday,now EXTREME this AM.
I did warm compresses yesterday evening and it would feel better for a bit, but overall no improvement.
Itchy? Do you feel a tiny lump?
Eye swelling is always worse after a night of lying flat. Being upright will help.
No lump or grit feeling. I have had a stye twice before, it looks like it but doesn't really feel like it.
I stayed home from work in case it's something contagious.
Maybe a chalazion--a fatty cyst like a stye but not along the eyelash border.
Should I continue the warm compresses? This was the treatment of a stye in the past.

Lid is very pink and tender.

A tiny bit itchy, but not really. More like the sensation I want to clear the "sand" in the corner.
