stidmama needs all our prayers and positive vibes. apart from her allergies she is going through a very stress-related time with the lockdown, protests, police cruelty etc. this all impacts on her physical, emotional, and mental well-being. her grief is very real and she feels every single blow that is poured out on the suffering.
apologies for not coming back to you all. i hope she isn't upset by my sharing with you all, but she has posted quite openly on FB.

I expected to like them, very much. I ADORE them, as it turns out. They are like super useful dogs.
Where do they live?
in the old chicken coop, which tertiare and I cleaned out, removed the nesting boxes, and fitted for them - hay crib, raised bed for sleeping, etc. An old dog run was re-fitted to the space, with a couple of sections added, to make an enclosed yard for them. Every day that isn't raining I take them out for goat zoomies and yard activities.
they have been in the "people barn" twice = i ran in to get a hat on a sunny day, and they followed me RIGHT in.

randolph, for those who are interested, is a town near me with the highest number of english language learners in the state. 40 different languages are represented in the school population. Last week they announced they are eliminating all arts, music, phys ed, cafeteria workers, and some other staff for next year. I think this is CRIMINAL. For ELL students, the arts, sports, music, etc. levels the playing field and gives them a place to shine. NO ONE cares if you can't fully speak English if you are dominant on the track team. Or a deft watercolorist. Or a coloratura soprano, or a gifted pianist. I'ts AWFUL
... around here they're all working at the supermarkets ... stocking shelves ... working cash ... chasing down carts in the parking lot ...

The nicest part about cats is that the only thing they really care about is being fed. If you are busy and don't have a lot of time to spend with them, they just curl up and go to sleep somewhere.

Cats bathe themselves and if you give them hairball medicine on a regular basis they don't vomit either -- they can be trained not to scratch and they don't poop on your sidewalk or lawn, they don't kill your evergreens by peeing on them.

You need to empty the litterbox more often, Molly -- and that is just in the winter -- they go outside in the rest of the year, but they bury it! And there is no getting rid of that doggie smell ever - not unless you are prepared to give your dog a bath every day.
Being a dog owner is like being a smoker -- everybody knows it, because the smell is in your house and on your clothing.
I have several friends who have dogs and their houses don't smell like it. The ones who have cats, well that is different.
but I'm fortunate to live far enough away from neighbors/road that they're safe. Nah, they go in the woods or fertilize the azaleas. True about the dog, add to that dogs shed more than cats (in general)...
My kids have one cat and they are both always covered in cat hair.
put a dog and a cat separately in the trunks of two cars for one hour and open it up and see which animal is happy to see you :D

qu first part is like the 5 above it and then add what you use to pick up things like to take crabs out of a hot pot. you use these. and plural
