here's a thing you don't get to say every day: i have found 100 words and they are all S words! lol
ha
Clues are up
two S tiles grey
ty Lickety!
thanks, lickety
Thanks, Lickety and hi all
and only, uh, 14 more S words
25% done and ONLY WITH S WORDS!
Impressive hurshy!
162 left here
well i mean that's pretty nuts that over 1/4 of the words are S words
that's overwhelming
it's intenssssssssssssse
you don't seem to be too overwhelmed there :D
lol
but I don't have all the s's that you do either :)
i trade early speed for less difficulty at the end by focussing on one thing at a time
i wish i had the mental fortitude/focus to go letter by letter in the beginning but my brain goes wild if i see a word and dont input it
here too JS
there's an ma8 I just found that I... I don't know how one would use it. It stinks, as words go, imo.
my brain goes a little wild, but, i just bash it down like whac-a-mole
unless it's something i know i will not remember later on like something weird people are giving clues for
weird people? I resemble that remark!

welp, never would have gotten that Y without Lickety. (yu 5 and 6) New one for me.
(so, nbt and nbs accomplished, back to listlessness, haha)
ty for the Ys
man, i only have 5 more S words, but that 39/42 is just so ugly, i wish i could find ONE more from that tile
meanwhile i'm polishing off vowels

Well Samantha is not feeling the joy :)
Does this grid make up for all the small, thorny, ugly grids earlier this week?
It does that for me Douglas. I am happy when I get 50-60% of the daily grid, and when a monster like this comes along, I get to feel smart for about 20 minutes cause of ALL the words I can find ;)
We were due for a big one
dive right in me mateys. it's loverly in....full of words that twist and twirl until yer head is spinning... loll
The name of one of my cats is in this grid
I am amused to find a word that's all on one row of the keyboard, po5/18
so it is, douglas. i didn't notice that.
Also po6/24 and several 4s
enable doesn't like "contessa", boo
ma 7 a peson who fertilizes and pl
ty diz.. crashing, 80 for later.
and thar she blows. one whale of a grid done.. *happy sigh *
please may i have a clue for the de9
de9 is the plural of de8
May I have stats for the Y please?
de8. de + mother ******, the great outdoors
yu5/18 and it's plural
Hello Rose! How is lockdown treating you?
g'day matty. how you both doing over there? i am in full lockdown. have had cv-19 swabs done, results negative, as a requirement to go in for my routine treatment.
matty, when they announced the second bout of lockdown i lost the plot. couldn't stop crying.
I'm glad you've avoided COVID! Sarah is also in lockdown - Tilly's three months old and doing really well - she's a little chubster!
Big hugs, Rose, from afar
ta matty. and yup, it's official. Tilly is one very cute bub.
I'll have to put a more recent picture up :)
oh, and i'm a Great Aunt now. my niece had her first about the same time as Tilly was born.
CONGRATULATIONS!
thanx honey. it still feels a little weird....loll
I still can't get used to being a Grandma!
I figure at this rate, I'll meet her in person around about the time she goes to high school
well i'm up to number four, with four step-grandchildren, plus two adopted. plus nephews and nieces. the youngest niece calls me aunty granny.loll
Awwww! Your Christmas list must be huge
now see here young lady... as so4 as all this kerfuffle is over, you AND himself had better be on the first available flight.
I absolutely will be!
Jeff's daughter is currently living with us, having broken up from her bf in Sydney and come home (she's 25)
i'll email you the pic of us from last Boxing Day. Don took the pic so he isn't in it. and the latest addition was still unseen.
Oooh - brilliant - and I'll email you Tilly photos back!
how's that gping matty? two hens in the hen house, could be interesting.
She spends most of her time in her room, either working (still for the Australian company!) or doing whatever 25 year olds do in their room. She comes down for dinner, where she's pleasant enough. She has a sweet deal - a dad who is willing to wait on her, her dad's girlfriend who earns most of the money, free meals, free rent, free everything, her dad driving her wherever she wants to go. I suspect she'll never leave
i am also on FB AND i have zoom connected. two avenues we can chat on.
oh, dear. why all the freebies? does she not have an income of her own yet?
Oooooh! Friend me on FB at once!
She absolutely does. But Jeff wouldn't HEAR of asking her to pay anything
under mattygroves or your for real name?
Real name
but that's not good policy, matty. surely Jeff sees that.
okay. after our chat i'll see if i can find you
sent you a friend request honey.
and back at you...loll
And have accepted!
outta here. i have two friends wanting my attention...loll and both of them overseas.happy babbling y'all. great grid. amusement factor 10/10
Have a great day!
xx matty
Hi all. This is the biggest grid I ever remember seeing. Good luck everyone.
Whoa! Massive grid.
Oh happy day!
Dive in, Champ. There are words everywhere, then add an S.
That looks like a good idea!
Good morning, it's one of those mad typing frenzy grids. For a while at least!
Hi Haz! Yes, I am typing away.
It's invigorating.
Perfect to start my day and get ready for work.
Agree!
I passed halfway. Enjoy the grid and the day.
You too.
fw that was fun!
Congratulations!
Thanks Haz
Halfway and off to feed the dogs! :-)
Good morning, BabblePeeps.
*Looks for chickens*
Could be marshmellows...
Or is it marshmallow...I never remember
Ah, the sugar fix of Easter : D
Now they make them for all occasions.
It's marshmallow, and this I remember due to a movie called The Sandlot, where they talk about making s'mores with "mallows".
hi all. very dark here. some thunder too. going to rain soon
Lucky you!
exactly half way. bbl
We had end of the world storms yesterday and it looks like we get more today.
afternoon :)
Good afternoon, Wendrie.
nice big grid - and my 2pm meeting was cancelled so I've got a bit more time today :)
No rain here - 75F/24C high thin cloud with wisps of blue peeking through.
Sounds lovely! I wish we could get cooler temps.
much cooler today than earlier.
It's a long journey through the s and t words.
senate
wow! gotta get to work on this!
And there is a freebie for you
Molly, that never happens to you
it's the 48 Ps that seem to take forever...
Oh, it happens to everyone
enable seems to arbitrarily dictate when one can put a T at the end of a word to make it past tense. Like senst is not a word, but drest is.
does anyone have a hint for the second ce/6?
Christini - are you still here?
I'm working this afternoon so I can babble a bit this morning!
Wendrie, taken every 10 years in US. This year.
Tx pcal!
yw
thanks Pcal - brain didn't twist in that direction...
earth to Christini!

holy cow, it's a big one
MLF!! how nice to "see" you! it's been a while!
yes, mlfan!!
I started this day off by putting my dress on backwards. A sure sign that it's going to be an "interesting" slog
uh-oh
but was it inside out and backwards?
no, just backwards, so there is THAT
Leo just sneezed. it's so cute

Goats eat poison ivy?? I need to hire some!!!

got dark here and some thunder earlier but no rain so far
at least it is a little cooler than past few days
i am REALLY hoping it rains here later today. Only about a 50% chance. My back forty is a dust bowl
taking a break in a few minutes

lol just found my DH - st6.18....think Tommy Chong
good morning everyone wow a huge grid! don't know if i will even bother. Trifioso how many goats do you have?
good morning pythonx. Just two
Dwarf Nigerians, 2 years old, rehomed them here in March
vincent and leo? love the names
Vincent Van Goat and Leonardo Di Capricorn, fully
bbl
lol, love it
take care, peri dear
Yes, great names! Next one:. Riviera?
aw, my fave beagle in the grid
I have wanted goats for YEARS - since I was home for so long due to the shutdown, the timing was perfect. Turns out I was RIGHT - these guys have MORE than earned their keep
the place we camped a few weeks ago has goats and I was talking to another camper who told me she talked them into selling her a kid. wish I had somewhere to keep one.
of course there has been a learning curve - they eat LOTS of stuff they shouldn't....but really they are such loves. Think of them as really helpful dogs
An only goat is a lonely goat! They really, really don't do well alone!
And they're so lovable!
well, if I don't have a place for one I certainly don't have a place for two ;)
these big grids are such a tricky thing - when I am grid locked and walk away, I end up reentering stuff.....but it's too big to do all in one go
Years ago one of my mom's caregivers had cutie patootie goats!!
I would love to borrow a couple goats for a while, but I wouldn't want to keep them.
because I wouldn't have anyone to care for them when I am gone
you can rent them, for sure, but wow, does it cost money around here!
when I was a kid, my neighbor had goats on a farm somewhere but he brought 2 kids home and kept them there for a while. so adorable and playful.
its like watching a show that never ends. THese fools try to sit in my lap!
Goats available to rent not too far from here but no idea re price....
$600 a week around here
cracked one 8!
I have somehow found 4 8's
sigh....I can hear my idiot doggo barking his fool head off way up the driveway. I'm too hot to move....
grayed a tile! (so what if it was the upper E)
well done, hokie!
hello...any stats for the Y?
yu 5.18 and 6.30
yu5,18 and yu6,30
ty
and hello phae
the yus are clued lower down
found them...thanks
a clue for the un6 please?
we sort of wave the PB on big grid days, yes?
un + not go
wave at the people in it?
thank you molly
waive
this grid is so big I"m sure it's hard to have a chat without accidentally using words
agreed, hokie, which is why we usually call off the PB on big grid days - was just checking
i have a ton of masks to make today - should really stop when I hit halfway....
secondo is coming up from philly for the weekend, and socially distant visiting is happening - I am SO excited to see her!!!!! She is bringing her new love interest too - first time he will be here
we have to drive to get our motorhome from a repair place - about 2.5 hrs. round trip. probably won't be finishing this one today
but will get some fresh SC peaches if anyone wants any
straight up JEALOUS you have a motor home!
I'd like a smaller one but it is the best way to travel with pets and food issues
we are going to rent one of those someday, you heard it here first!
stats for the 9?
we had a pop-up camper and decided to do a cross country trip in 2014. mr. homie said it would be cheaper to buy one than rent since we were gone over 7 weeks
ph hokie, trade lives with me???
hokie...traveled in a motor home for 5 years...LOVED it!
se9,54
of course we tried to sell it earlier this year and couldn't, then the pandemic hit. could prob sell it now with the surge in RV'ing
phae, did you have a phaeton?
yes...lol How did you know? ;-D
youngest kid is a senior this year. we will probably travel around a while when he goes to college.
ha! I always just assumed that but wanted to make sure.
ty aslindy
phantom - round
we have ended up on some dicey roads in ours. just kinda stresses me on travel days. it is a 40'
do you tow it, or drive it?
we drive it, it is a class A which is like a bus. like the rock stars, etc. but we tow a truck behind it.
so was ours...got in some pickles. hard to turn around..then we towed a 20 ft trailer behind it. whew!
holy cow. Okay, so I could NEVER back that up
mr. homie doesn't mind backing into campsites. but when we're towing you can't back up or it will break the tow bars.
I drove a school bus for 20 yrs so driving wasn't a problem. My husband drove because he couldn't give directions worth a damn.
phae, we once got sent by our RV GPS onto a back country road into Capitol Reef NP. was crossing a dry creek bed in the road and our jeep came up in the air into the back end. I actually said at the time "we're in a bit of a pickle."
lol...some of those roads the GPS sends you on turn out to be nothing but ruts
I drove a few times early on but haven't in years so just haven't been able to get comfortable doing things like backing up. I'm kinda small and can't get the seat adjusted close enough.
my friend went to a driving school in Yuma, just in case she had to drive. Her hubby was a retired truck driver. We were sad when we had to stop.
oh, it was so washboarded he had to drive really slow and it took hours and hours. we unhooked the jeep after the first ditch crossing and I drove ahead as a scout, but we couldn't really go back at that point.
what type do you have?
that is sad. it's a great lifestyle.
manufacturer?
ours is like bottom of the line - cross country sportscoach. it is a bunkhouse but our boys rarely go with us anymore.
it's just great to be out on the road...meet many wonderful people.
we remodeled the bedroom this summer and are going to do the rest when we get it back. I was going to change the bunkhouse to a sewing room but I'm thinking now I might leave it in case we want to try to sell again.
It is HOT!
agreed
it's already 81 here and supposed to reach 91. Hitting the water today.
85 here bea, not sure what the feels like is because my phone is somewhere else
Sorry to change topics, but is anyone familiar with Stack Social?
ok, mr. homie is ready to leave. BBL
no. lawyer-1
current temp 89. feels like 95. Took my walk at 7 am and it was already 77.
Mixi, how are the covid cases in your area?
sorry, disappeared for a minute there- my laptop died and I had to reboot, and then got the DREADED "install updates please wait" message
rising slowly.
I was allowed to visit my mother-in-law this past weekend.
how did they handle it, mixi?
We had lunch in my car. (air-conditioning running) she drove to the local park. Then I was allowed in to give a concert, but not visit.
I am glad you got to see her!
She turned 89 on Tuesday.
morning all
Hey, mool.
hey bzz...happy Thursday
good morning mool
hey trif, happy almost end of the week to you
thanks!
well, 175 to go...this is going to take some time
hey trif
morning moo sounds so funny...
i am awaiting a workman who i hope is still cominng though it's raining intermittently.
hey TO
(((( rain)))))
oh yeah. rained a lot and more is due
poor mool
heh
why poor moo?
not really, don't mind a big board every now and again
please please send it this way!
i love big boards more fun sometimes
mlf, you haven't been around much lately.
if i oculd, i surely would. it's been good awful. the deer have been eating everything. they finally visited my hosta.
what's a hosta?
shade loving plant, hursh
ah
it's a decorative plant. a bitg ckump of variegated leaves.
it's like planting a salad bar for deer.
do you mean you did it in order that they would eat that instead of other plants?
well, no...
ok i just wasn't sure if visiting it was a good thing or a bad thing :D
bad. unless you want a clmp of ragged stems in your front yard.
well, you could get a big scary dog to bark at them and scare them away
man pee works, by the way....ask your male house members to pee around flowers/plantings you want to preserve. If you live in a neighborhood, have them pee into a cup and distribute
sounds like the deer are taking you hosta-age
they stay far awy
lol good one, ruru!
oh i've heard that human hair has that effect as well trif
hmm, perhaps that was what governor cuomo was doing in that photo of him nude in the garden...
it might, i dont' know. Can only attest to the pee. Works
my former hairdresser told me she had someone who would ask them for the cuttings for her garden
so wait, trif, are you saying women's pee does NOT work? or just that it's easier for men to pee around plants?
that's why your neighbor's wonder why valentine just doesn't use the bathroom like the rest of us
when it's this dry i doubt much works, though cayenne seemed to deter rabbits from eating the verbena in pots
hi everyone! nice to have a big grid. We use a deer-repellant that works (until it rains).. but ooh does it smell bad !
(HOPES scrabs isn't here for that one)
and also around the parsley
I heard it was man pee, so that's what I use.
I don't have any neighbors, ruru.
deter does not equal harm
right.. they just don't eat the flowers and move on to something else
well if you get some rabbits coming up from Mexico TO the cayenne won't help
picturing rabbits in colorful ponchos and sombreros
i picture the poor critters sneezing
ok time to get ready. workmen coming to replace outdoor faucet.
ariba! it's verbena
i thought contessa would count but for some reason it doesn't
never had any luck with hostas until we moved to MA.
in CT the deer had a salad bar in my backyard.
agreed, harry. they do love massachusetts
well I have no deer here for some reason.
they ate every blossom from the very beautiful and costly plant. they bit the flowers from the gerbera daisies, but do not eat them. just for fun
they can't afford the real estate taxes.
if you're in the boston suburbs it's probably just too people-y for deer
they were all over the place in new haven, which was also peopley
hahaha true that harry
but we did have extensive woods nearby. here just small patches of woods
I think the name is Liquid Fence - the deer waited until the lilies bloomed and then ate every one, so we decided to try the deterrent and it worked.
hursh: in a city of 45000 my brother looks out the windoe and sees a huge buck they are everywhere in urban areas.
I have several hostas that are close to four feet across. They are at least 10 years old.
saw a doe and her fawn in our parking lot on Route 1 over the weekend....lots of people, cars and businesses around....
coyote urine is good
so i hear, harry
i lived in new haven too! :D did you ever go to Claire's, the vegetarian restaurant?
right Bea, some hostas are not attractive to deer
always hursh!!!
but I liked edge of the woods better
Plenty of people where I live, and the deer walk down the street like they are neighbors.
wow i wonder if we were ever in the same place at the same time :D
we lived in NH from 2003-2013 I think
well, i am weird cause, i just like seeing deer, i find them so beautiful that it is hard for me to consider them pests
i was there from 2008-2015
Hursh, I feel the same way about deer.
wow! where did you live?
have many near misses then finally a hit when they run into your car.
i lived in the northeast corner of town, just right near the borders with east haven and north haven
we were in westville. first near hopkins and then near the yale bowl
i like them whilst walking but when driving... and i don't like the little surprised they leave on the lawn
I like them when they don't leave ticks near my kids.
surprises.
ha, it would have taken a half hour to get from your place to mine then
well that is a lost cause here. i had a tick earlier in the ssummer. there is an incredble amount of lyme disease here.
Finally greyed the C...back later for the last 58...
They are big beautiful vegetation pests. There were 5 big bucks in my yard on July 4th. watching my neighbors fireworks.
yes. I do miss it though. small town feel.
i cut flowers from a shrub in the common area not knowing it was loaded with them.
yes, i liked new haven a lot, but, i did not like all the bureaucracy i encountered, working at yale in an admin role.
oh no TO
Yale is monstrous like that. But if not for Yale I often think NH would be another Bridgeport.
Or worse - Waterbury
i couldn't even return my parking garage device without filling out a form.
i kept seeing these little black spiders in the sink. then finally one found my arm
did you have a bullet rash?
i could see when you GET one, a form, sure. but when you RETURN it... geesh
that gives me the heebie-jeebies just to think about, TO
i spent a lot of time in bridgeport and stratford early in this century
no, harry. i got it off early i think. but it did raw bllod.
there is not always a rash.
I took our seniors from NH to brirdgeport for a service project. They were a little freaked out by the syringes and condoms we had to clean from the sidewalk.
i was not in the city. just the mall and the UTC plants
and vazzy'. great food!
gotta get some work done! 120 left here.
stratford so ultra suburan, almost exurban
bbl
i eed to leave as well, have fun all
and to clean my keyboard out, i see. later
does anyone know if there are any PY words?
or PE words, for that matter?
None of either
mk, so i'm blind to twelve PO, PR, and PU words, lol
i haven't found anything off the y or e in the corner
ooh but i just found a de 8 & 9
the e will make you fish yourself
e in the corner is easy
The E in the corner is a currency this side of the pond (but the other side of the channel)
yu 5 and yu 6....
the y is a 5/6
the y rhymes with what you clip to get money off your purchases
thank you
Ru, please don't fish yourself in public : D
proably that's what they call them in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
the y is an evergreen shrub + pl
had to.. they were bugging me
i was blind to seeing anything
you could say I was bushed in trying to find the y aloy
just shrub it off, ru....
ok ru, almost a groan
lol penquis, g1!
sorry.. just hedging my bets
chalk up a groan ru
:oD
Someone is going to start with the shrubbery thing in a minute.
Will someone trim their bush? ;)
that's shrubbish molly
lol !
oh matty..
yeah i was thinking of the shrubbery and the knights who say "ni"
Someone had to go there, it might as well have been me ;)
*Whistles like she hasn't a clue what is going on
(I thought that too, Hursh, but chose to go the cheeky route)
See. I knew the Knights would not go un-mentioned.
well i am off to McLoon's for lunch....bbl to find the remaining 109....ugh.....
46 Cs and 48 Ps. Jeez.
i don't know monty python well at all but that is the one bit i liked very much
the Ps are a bit harder than the Cs in my opinion
I have 132 left but it's tough going now - this won't be a finishing day
but please note there are 119 S words as well
of which i have found 114
Duly noted. I have found them all and it was a trek
i'm approaching the 90% mark for the grid overall
now i think i saw someone post that there was an re9, is that correct or am i misremembering? so far i have se9 and de9.
Correct
and is it something "again"?
oh yes it is, i have got it!
that root is my favorite word of the day so far
By jove, she's got it.
eureka, i might even say
Shazaam
I just got it too, thanks all!
now if i could just find some more of those P words...
Clues for the 9's?
also, i haven't found ANY words ending in -ous, which sort of surprises me
de9 takes away the essential properties of something
re9 design the lines of, perhaps, a car over again
Look again Hursh
se9 chefs would be people who flavor
Got the s!
I just need that re9 (to complete the 9s) - looking
hi all. help with either re8 pls
Found it
Re7/32 pt
Peri - to change the way you get somewhere - to use different directions Iit's a 7/8/8 combo
I just fount that ty Une
ty Matty
got them both ty
Another clue for de9 please?
de + mother ______ (trees water mountains)
de and Mother N***** for de8 and pt
Thanks?!
173 left and stuck
help wth un8 pls
Not a question LOL
un8 = wobbly
After a few drinks, I am un8 on my feet
ty both
missing 7 of the 8's
Tx for un8!
molly d'you want to give me any pointers on where to look for some -ous words?
Pr8.....plural of pr7/32
I'm still missing one 8...
and there is a past tense too Une
there are at least two pr7/32 with a plural, only one of them has a past tense
hursh, a fish: so 4, french coin
oh, well i have THAT, i meant, bigger words that have the -ous suffix, like my phantom "sonorous"
Tx hursh
woohoo, hit 90%!
Bea, could it be se8? My last 8, it has to do with classifying by using antigens

....a good old movie! Hi, nan
lol - I'd forgotten the movie, was thinking of the cooking show
guessing because it should be with an m not n
that's the frenh and it ends in an e
never seen it with an n
LOL....I'm old !! I never even thought of the cooking show !
obvious;y too french today!
lol -- we are about the same age, diane. How are you doing?
I'm back and eating lunch. phantom century
anyone have stats for the y please?
I saw this am that it's yu5/18, 6/30, but I wasn't able to monkey it
untan isn't on enable? I'm very untan in the winter
I'm doing well nan, all legal things looked after and nowsettling into a new way of life for me. I have wonderful family, all of them close and when grief is shared, it is not as difficult. Life is still beautiful because of the memories. x x x
Yu - look at the u word just before it and add a y ;)
I admire your attitude, diane -- I can't imagine how difficult it must be.
ty for the yu carla
diane, just saw your profile. sorry about losing your husband. :(
thank you, carla
hi all, diving in!
HI Gwen, the water's fine !
We are coming up to 57 years this weekend -- figure every day is a gift.
It truly is, nan. Happy Anniversary!
Thank you.
We had 25 in Jan. Were going to do a trip this summer. Oh well.
nbt woot
i play a little gaem when I load up Babble -- I look at the grid before I look at the total number of words, and I try to guess the total number of words -- today I guess 160 LOL
It is also hubby's 80th birthday -- we were going to have a big celebration with the kids and grandkids but are settling for having 6 of our friends socially distanced on the patio for drinks and cake.
I start at top left and work across and down. just on 2nd row right now but wondering where all the words are.
Carla, it will be something to look forward to when this craziness is over.
true, diane
finally got the y's!
I also turned 80 in May. It was a VERY small celebration, so ybe it went unnoticed and I can remain 79 ?? ;-)
sounds good to me
*maybe*
now that is a great idea, diane
I also am ignoring my April birthday
what day in may? mine is may 14
May 7
and my daughter is may 21
My youngest daughter was 48 on May 24 ! ..our anniversary, May 21. May is my favourite month of the year for many reasons!
I find it hard to believe I have a daughter who is counting the days until retirement --- I'm sure it was only a couple of years ago that we retired!
*months and days
Three of ours are retired, my "baby" has a few years to go yet.
152 down, 264 to go
I am the baby in my family but have basically been retired since my son was born almost 20 years ago. My older brothers are still working toward retirement!
188 here, but they are not coming as quickly now
I have 243 left but haven't made it through the whole grid yet. still on 3rd row.
maybe I should look more, chat less
I worked on and off over the years -- didn't work when the kids were young and took a year off to get settled every time we were transfereed after that.
have been out of the work force for 28 years now and seem to be busier than ever (just don't ask me at what)
it's easy to keep busy at home
I never worked almost 30 years until we started our own company....then I was shareholder/bookkeeper etc. etc. As a result, my CPP is very meagre!!
yes - mine too - a lot of the time I worked half days so I could be home when the kids came in from school
204 down, 212 to go
209 left here
Lunch time here. It was nice chatting :-)
same, have a good day
I mean, nice chatting, I already ate lunch :D
go go go hokie !!!
me three -- back later
just pulled a d6 from the babble memory vault that I didn't know existed
I keep wanting to make sorcery which is not even close, just some of the letters
I found the lost moon of Poosh LOL
woot! found a 9
hmm, you'd think one who takes a de6 would be a word, but as usual, it's a guessing game which words you can add -er to
well, 145 left after 1st pass through. got at least halfway on every tile but the 2nd row E
Name that Proper Noun: Italian poet
dan tee !!!
Very Excellent!! You win an All Expense Trip for Two to the Seventh Circle of Hell. Second prize is the Eight Circle!
LOL, what a prize package
aw, chucks, been there all ready LOL
You are SO lucky!
Book doctor - oh yes, I see you are American :)
oh, are you sending them to philadelphia in July?
That's third prize!!
we are in a pickle all right, but lickily I'm not in a state with a puddinghead for governor
What state are you in?
:D
michigan
where are you. god?
Yea she's good! But you still have all those wackos with gun on the State building (not sure what it is called)
I am in Canada
every state has anti-mask wankers and pro-gun wankers and creepy wankers who vote for pedophiles -- Murrika!
Yea- very sad.
but the majority of us a rational human being who care about others, and like that
thank you, gwen
Vote early - Vote often.
266 down, 150 to go
137 left here
go gwen go!
I finished the 2nd R!
I am curious... how does one get kicked off the voting list in the U.S.? Aren't you registered with an address?
yes, not sure what you mean. felons can't vote.
351 down with no list and no clues. going to finish what i have begun. plumbers came, everything out from the sink, time to clean before i put it all back.
wow, well done, TO
I hear that 17 million people were kicked off the list last year. Is that possible?
sort of wanting to see how far i can go without help at this point have fun! back to phila heat wave hell
some fun words.
bye!
in some states felons can't vote, in other they can. we are working to lift th\\eseis unamericna laws
I have not heard that but due to anxiety issues I don't follow the news.
Ah.....
160 left playing off and on
where did you hear that, godthaab
felons can vote in Michigan, for example, but not in Florida (by felon I mean ex-con, not someone actually in prison)
but I don't know who these 17 mil godthaab was referring to getting kicked off voter registries are. I just mentioned felons as being someone I thought couldn't vote.
i had heard that if you had registered long ago but not voted in years, they were purging you from the lists, in some places
so then you'd have to reregister
there are corrupt officiasl in some states (Georgia, e;g;) who don't want the poor to vote, so they invent fake excuses to kick them off voter rolls
they don't wankt Dems or liberals or sensible people to vote, either
it's probably because the devil went down to Georgia
both my boys got registered at the DMV when they got their licenses. the youngest will be 18 in Sept. I'm sorry this is his first election.
he was looking for a soul to steal
googl "rob georgia" and you will learn about how they have been coing this in Georgia since 1998
voting is awesome -- even if the presidential race is scary there will be plenty other things to vote on -- state university board -- your local mayor -- member of congress -- judges -- etc
yeah, I usually try to educate myself on the local ones before I go. we're in a weird area and have actually had years where there's nothing to vote on.
I keep trying to make the US beer in the grid work. just in case. it is only a proper noun though.
we call those phantoms
yeah, I've been calling them all day. add that one to my list.
well phantoms are things that aren't there but would count if they were
the beer IS there but doesn't count, because as hokie said, it is a proper noun
I just hope that those who didn't vote last time because they didn't like Hillary have learned that not voting isn't enough -- you have to vote against whatever or whomever you don't want.
oh, good point
oh, pick pick pcik LOL
found a nine woot
I found se9, what did you find?
de9
Re9
hmm, well it's not ones who de6 because I already complained about that
hello all.
howdy
there are at least 12 different and compelling reason why Hillary (supposedly) lost in 2016. People who didn't vote because they assumed she would win are only one of them
don't have either of those -- just the se 9
i don't even have the de6
an alt. ro5
I have the de9.. thanks for the other two, looking now!
ooh, got the de8/9
would be nice if it was recounted, but that is a legit phantom
found the re9! thx, all
Man!!!!!!!!! I was right behind you with the de, now gotta find the re...
you can do it!
found the re - still looking for the de
So many options when it's an re....
look at 7's that start with the letters around the E. you might not have the root yet. that always adds a degree of difficulty
I know! Will get there...surely! ;)
current makeup trends (which I rarely wear) use this word
nan, do you want a small clue for the de?
DONE!
a clue for the de 8-9 please?
think alcohol, nan
Got the r9. Not got the other 2. Do they build off other words?
Done before I saw the clue, but that would've done it. Thx!
well, it's not dewars!
hmm, forget the de part and think of what canadian parks have - you are out in ____
jax, the se9 is a plural of one who se6
Just found the se8/9
ty --- strange word
still don't see the alcohol connection though
you've never heard of de8'd alcohol? maybe I'm making that up.
Thanks. De is common word in biology
no I haven't
just googled it, I'm not making it up
No you’re not making it up Carla. As soon as you said that I got it
whew
found the se8/9
is that all the 9's, m?
97 to go, calling it quits for now
wow, gwen you stepped it up. 113 still left here.
I just got the re9, so done with the 9s! Yay!
yay
finished the o's & the u!
finished the y :)
Could I have the stats for the y please?
yu5/6
YU 5/18
Hi zooz!
Hello, M9f9l! 😊
This thing is huge.
TWSS
(sorry to ru and other acronym haters, not spelling that one out)
Thanks for the ys
going to list when I get down to 150 -- there is only so much of the day I am willing to spend on this
Ha carla. I had to look it up. :D

236 left here
sorry, couldn't resist it, you had a perfect setup
just found a fish I'd missed
where did hurshy go? head down working hard on this one? I need someone to guess my missing N.
NE + not bottom.
grandmas?
no, I have that
the lake monster?
slang word for food.
have that
Which N?
if there aren't any weird ones sticking out at you I guess I'll have to wait for the list.
actually missing one from each N but was trying to finish the middle
NE7 maybe.
ce 8 please?
I do not have an ne7, so that is one - thx, zooz. looking now.
Na5?
I have a couple of na5
which n is the ne7, zooz?
Ends in Pt of consume food, Jax.
Middle.
oh, I think jax was just guessing mine
Yes got that one
Oh haha! Sorry!
nan, I don't have
I just got a ne7 but it doesn't end in pt of consume food?
that is 2 clues for different words jumbled, M
There's a phantom that starts the same and ends with pt of consume food...
Ah
I should update my profile pic. Had a 4th grand last month!
It does not take me long to confuse people as you can see haha!
off to get some groceries - bbl
Congrats, M9f9l!
aww
He got here before the midwife did!
But my Son-In-Law handled it just fine
glad there were no problems
Apparently I came out like a bar of soap!
Ha ha.. many do!
Never could handle confined spaces.
haha, none of mine did!
also my first one was 15 days late
Yikes
and I would have died not in a hospital
I bet you were saying Come out godammit!
Carla?
yes, bea?
What are you doing?
working on this grid, why?
Are you in the Queen City?
yes, we made it back about an hour ago
I just got off a Fa
OK, could i get a clue for the ne 7 please, tried to make sense with the previous clues but not getting it
more like 2 hours ago
nancy, I never found it either
FT with my granddaughter and we talked about slime for 40 minutes!
haha, does she make it?
Oh I don't know. They can do a lot at home. The day of his birth as my daughter took him back from me on her way to her room she stopped and said "I could have had a "I would have died if not in a hospital" stories!" She hemorrhaged and bled a lot, and they had to go in manually.. but they got it sorted!
NE + vowel + I do not fancy you as you are not my ----
ne 7 is new+ sort
my boys were older when that came out. does they use elmer's glue?
Tx for ne7!
The toy slime? Or natural slime?
thx, was trying that prefix. also didn't not have the "sort" part of the clue yet. it's a 2-fer!
Like slime molds?
thank you zooz
She makes it. Glue, glitter, beads...she loves it and makes beautiful mixes.
not sure why I said "does they" LOL
Toy slime. She does not watch tv, but she watches slime videos on youtube all the time.
The new thing, to go by plural pronouns:)
funny
My grands watch a lot of those also
you can literally watch anything on YT these days
I just watched a youtube to figure out how to get out our broken dipstick
I'm always sending her random packages of stuff with slime or beads in it.
YouTube is the best!!
There's a couple youtubers that I watch regularly myself.
YouTube is my go-to for anything that involves tools. I can barely use a mechanical pencil.
She told me today in our conversation that "since this virus stuff, you can get anything on Amazon." I laugh so much when I talk to her.
Grandkids must be the best!
I might make a youtube explaining how percentages are reversible. Someone posted a meme about it, and so many people were having issues with it. I explained it in a typed out explanation and it helped a lot of people, but I think a video might be better.
That's funny. I love it when memories of something my kid said come up on facebook.
Depends on the tool, ori. Hubs gave me a maddox tool for my birthday. I am all over the yard wacking out stuff I don't want...
mr. homie watches every night. he has a few regulars and then he looks up anything he is working on
Like my son asking if even remembered how to be awesome.
There are a couple of great gardening channels also.
My daughter has been watching videos about the Ruth Stout method of gardening since one of my tax clients told me about it.
I often engage in appropriate tool usage.
LOL
Grandkids and the things they say are so much fun. Our oldest, would see something he didn't know about an would say, "What's that for doing?" We still say that....
Ruth Stout...will have to look at that.
I love it when something they say becomes family vernacular.
we are going to do a video of our RV remodel. will let you all know when it's on. :D
I say "I can't like that" when talking about certain foods because my friend's daughter used to say it all the time.
My grandsons watch youtube on Roblox...I remember when we used to watch Nick Jr. Now, the tv is never on when they are here.
Carla, have you seen where Wake county schools are going to be online only for the first semester?
We have quite a few. From our oldest daughter "I'm a growned up kid!" "it's traggik" (instead of tragic...because she read it but hadn't heard it). From our first son "Yood Yob!!" (he couldn't say consonants for a long time) From our third (daughter) "No me me!!" When we play chase. We're not sure which one would say "that's asgusting!" but we still say it.
No. Cabarrus Co is doing 1 day a week in school and 3 groups, but you have the option to do all online. Meck Co. is oddly going for 2 weeks before switching to all online.
And then the other state I watch closely is Kansas. My daughter teaches there and my grands go there. The state BOE vote to not delay the opening of school or the wearing of masks while they were wearing masks in their meeting...<faceplant>
m9, I love "that's asgusting"! LOL
Youngest (son) said he was going to tell something in his game to "sneeze fire" so I asked if there were dragons in his game. "No!" "then who's going to sneeze fire?" "Sneeze fire is when you tell them to stop shooting!!!"
I have a young friend starting at App State. They will have abbreviated classes, much like summer school and will be home and stay home at Thanksgiving.
LOL! Sneeze fire...
We have lots. we call the tv remote the "babote" and the computer a "luler"
Christmas lights on houses are "ho ho lights"
my niece & my oldest son used p's for f's. one time my mom said there was a fork in the road and my niece exclaimed, "there's a pork in the road?!" we still laugh about that and she's almost 21.
My sister's daughter when she was about 5 went to school in mother's car and mother said to her other half it is pissing down out here. They got to school and my sister's girl shouted out as soon as she got into the class It is pissing down. My sister could of died on the spot lol
My oldest daughter called her vagina her "china". We were hosting Christmas dinner one year and my mom asked what she should use to set the table. I said, "Oh, let's use the china." My daughter looked at us and said, "What?"
Oh, Bea! LOL
Zooz, I have tears from the "pissing down"...
I have got to go start dinner....Leaving 42 in Judi's bucket! Night all!
Bless her apparently she said it with such pride too!
Have a lovely meal and a nice evening, Bea â¤
98 left here. on phone call right now. bye, bea!
Judi's bucket is going to be full of leftovers tomorrow. Maybe we can chum with it.
Funny stories!
200 left. ugh
Yes! Thankfully I have just finished and time to retire for the evning. Happy babbling everyone! And good luck!
well done, good night zooz
lol, how is ma7/8 acceptable and other -ers in the grid are not
it's a noun, not a verb!
has anyone noticed there are a LOT of S words today?
119, i think....
I thought about doing the maths, but didn't. thx. :D
someone posted it earlier...
well, my laptop is on 11% so I guess I have to get off the couch. leaving 83 for later, unless Judy wants them?
Ce6/21?
ce + short writing piece....
Tx!!
yw...
Just found natural fertilizer :-)
that's the one I was saying it's ridiculous that one who does that is accepted. so don't forget those! made it to the charger. :D
well, I went through the list and now I have only 7 to find....taking a dinner break....bbl to finish....
huge grid eh
biggest I've seen in a long time
hello again - back to the never ending grid :)
nan, did you get the ce8? I looked it up.
Hey, Nan :-)
no I didn't -- just got back from a grocery run
just like always in big grids, there are words I know I entered that weren't there
do you have se8/55? virtually the same
I have an se 8-9 combo
ends in what you do on a keyboard
play?
oh - a computer keyboard, lol
(rimshot for nan....)
I have 100 words and no animals yet
well, in the old days there were manual & electric machines that you did this on
jane, there is a mammal that was new to me and a common food fish
hokie, in the old days they weren't called keyboards.....
got it, ty carla
I'm plenty old enough to have used those machines pre-computers. LOL
I even took a class in high school
F.R.F. (space) D.E.D. (space) F.R.F ad naseum
me too -- had a royal portable when I was at university
was in this huge black square case that came in very handy for smuggling wine into the dorm.
Royals were the best. I had an IBM Selectric. I think it might still be stashed away somewhere.
lol - this was long before electric ones
You haven't really ty4ed unless you had to return your carriage with your own hand.
Yes Nan, I know Royals were before electrics. My Dad had a Royal. That is what I learned to ty4 on.
I probably only ever used electric ones
I liked the ones that had the white-out strip built in.
those came later. I would wear those out!
I don't think I could use one now -- the touch is so much heavier - sort of like switching between and electric organ and a piano
I kinda liked feeling the letter swing out and hit the paper when you hit the key, and the carriage going back
5 T's left and that's it!
un 7 please
wtg carla
de 6-7 please?
hungry, nancy
wow, my last one was something you need the white-out for. think I would've seen that. anyhoo...
ty carla
nan, sounds kinda like a man's name, like Tutu
I mean, like his first name
it's the mammal I was telling harpjane about
that'd be uncomfortable meeting him homie
"nice to meet you tutu"
ty carla
Wait. There's a mammal that wears a tutu?
They have killer underwater ballets
name that french impressionist painter
If he had been Brutus, we would have et tu, Tutu?
hippos wear tutus harp.. everyone knows that
ne 7 please?
Actually I just watched Fantasia!
i love that movie
I have
I have Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 so we made a night of it.
Something's wrong with Fantasia 2000 and I can't turn the director's commentary off. I need an 8 year old to fix it
ne7...new prefix + hunt and peck
don't think I've ever seen it -- wasn't that one of the first mickey mouse flicks?
I don't like director's commentary
I'm trying to convince my husband to take me to my birthday dinner. The place we always go just re-opened. My birthday was March 20. I think I ate cold beans out of a can.....
I have both as well but recently watched the original on Disney+
Fantasia is several animated stories, nan. One is Micky in The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Mine was Apr. 11, harpjane. had a similarly unspectacular dinner.
I make it a point to eat and drink something nice on my birthday
I honestly don't rem. what I ate. Even though it was 3 mos. ago it seems like 5 years. I do remember it sucked and my friend & I (whose birthday is 2 days later) said we would celebrate next year. We were supposed to be spring breaking in FL together with our families.
I do the same Ru. Your birthday is about celebrating yourself. Cold beans out of a can wouldn't cut it for me.
We had our dinner reservations and everything, March 20 was the last day that restaurants could stay open in Montana so every place was PACKED. We cancelled our reservations.
well, those were the lockdown days when everywhere was closed and you were terrified to go to the grocery store
Actually I think we had Chinese leftovers along with the beans.
Stats for the Y words please?
po 6/21 please?
I did make a chocolate torte for myself
yu5/18, 6/30
nan, it's a weird plural of a weird singular word that looks plural. let me try to think of something. actually the singular is right ahead of it on the list
never heard of it. thanks
a shrub
drawing a blank on cluing, nan, last 3 are part of another word for exam
yw hj
ty carla
leaving for now, maybe for the rest of the day :)

Good morning all.

hello TO!
how is yourlocal offspring faring in this heat and strife?
im rather hopeless at coming back to big grids - just keep entering words I already got

i lost a boatload of words. i hate that
what do you mean? where did they go?
80! woohoo
go harry! and still no lilst?
nope!
beats the hell out of me. i entered, refreshed often, but still... i am wonderinf about if i had used the list, if the would be able to tell exactly what i lost.
i posted how many i had, earlier, intentionally, so i could compare, going back to check brb
oh that would lead to flying laptop syndrome here!
i just can see what i haven't thought of yet.
it makes it a chore rather than fun
i feel like I have all the obvious ones, but i dont
there are lots of great words today.
I'm gonna list. this is becmoing a struggle
i will have to list soon.

no pb today! big grid, remember?
that's a stretch ru.
you're saying that hereford ... er I mean here forward
I'm saying it here there and heiferwhere
now we're milking it for all its worth
all these cow puns are making me hor.....nope. can't do it

i need to list, really, or i will be here all night. every 5-10 minutes or so, i find a word.
we give you dispensation, TO
