Lazy - I'm not long out of bed. Looks cold and a wee bit cold out there now. Not much to do outside anyway, we are kind of in lockdown (again) trying to get on top of outbreaks again ( though not anywhere near as bad as in thge States)
It's quite bad here although not in my state (NY.) We were bad in March-May.
we sailed through the first lot but it has sneaked in again and exploded - and now it has got into nursing homes. Happily? we are are the only State where this is happening and effectively the others have locked us out.
Nursing home residents accounted for 40% of deaths in our state.
nursing homes are an easy target for this disease
It is expected that is going to happen here as well
Very sad.
I remember reading about one in Italy...the admin and nursing staff locked themselves in with the residents for weeks/months and no-one came in/out. Lost no-one. Whatdedication!
That is a true quarantine. Here, people want to get on with life and, since the virus is invisible, people aren't vigilant.

My nephew will be going to UVM this fall.I think they will be open in September.He did not get his H.S. graduation.
She used to tell me stories about the customers that made me CRY laughing. For those listening, Shanty by the Sea is a seafood restaurant, but it's on LAKE Champlain. LAKE, people. The customers would ask things like "now, did you catch this cod right out in the lake? and "what ocean are we looking at?
One of the customers, who took the ferry down to Canada, when asked how her boat trip had been replied "A little disappointing. We hoped to see more dolphins than we did." Secondo told them they were lucky they saw any, most people don't, Then she and the wait staff howled in the kitchen. To this day we ponder over what the hell they saw in that lake.

Online teaching in Spring didn't work out too well. Only 2 of my students did my assignments. Was very frustrating!
she teaches either fourth grade and many of the pupils are ESL with immigrant parentts. one of their faithers died of the virus. left three or four kids.
However,I'm not their classroom teacher so it is different for me. Their priority was doing work for their teacher as it should be. My assignments were just reinforcements.
