hello all :)
es6?
es6 - it moves between March and April
female related sugrr
oops yes - I clued the ea6
ruru I think that's the 7
kind of happens monthly doesn't it.. maybe in England just march and april?
no.. that's the six sugrr.. i'm looking right at it
found the 8 looking for the 6, thanks ruru!
lol i'm blind, cant get it
I'm laughing at the whole March and April thing. : D
good morning!
60 to go here
good morning everyone
wow -- there haven't been many people playing -- or at least, not chatting
cyber love your icon!
ty mlf -- just expressing my sentiments :D

i'll second mlf on that

there's a hockey word in the grid: hatric :)
oh.. that's where hatric patrick came from
what's the stats for the 8?
es8/45
ty bonk. will hunt.
are the ir words related?
not in meaning, but yes in form
never mind
ok then.
es6 is killing me - :(
think adjective sugr
es + most of what you hike on
i dont have the 7
My word of the day (not in the grid) is pangram. A sentence that uses all 26 letters of the alphabet. Like... “Amazingly few discotheques provide jukeboxes.â€
omg I got the darn es6 - geeesh LMAO i was going in the wrong direction the whole time
eshkngboots
used to test out typewriters
quick brown fox
clue for the es7 pls?
love that Molly. The only ome I've ever heard before is the old quick brown fox
mlf - noun with same beginning as es6
No z in the old quick brown fox
jumped over the lazy dog
You have to add jumps over the lazy dog
Pardon Harry and I, we are sharing a brain today
that's good - I normally only have half of one.
Well so do I so we aren't sharing much : D
im not getting it...
add tr5/10
don't forget the one too
There. We have spelled the whole thing out.
the one too?
ot if you dont have the right tr 5
I'm not sure that people realize that when they say add the tr5 they have given four of the seven letters
i like to give the rest of them at that point
ah - that's true mlf. you need to use the second tr5/10 (well in my list)
Yes, even if you don't have the right tr5.

still don't know how you all got from hat trick to hatric
they're homophones. or homonyms. or something like that.
I know a hat trick, but it has nothing to do with hockey : D
They sound alike, for the commoners
a hat trick in hockey is scoring 3 goals in one game
my humor falls flat sometimes. I tried to tell the "I'm a wigwam, I'm a tepee" joke to my family, and it was not a success
* 3 goals made by the same player
46 to go. gotta get some food. bbl!
Sadly, there are some people who just don't get the too tense thing. (two tents)
37 to go - will do the MacArthur thing
General MacArthur?
General MacArthur - I will return.

morning all
hello y'all
hey hoke, happy Friday
just went with the oldest to IKEA and there was a huge line out the door so we just kept driving.
howdy moo
happy friday to you too
They really should get better an online ordering at IKEA
54 left after my late night babbling
their business model really lends itself
it's horrible, but they're also out of everything right now
103 left here after about 5 minutes of babbling :)
some items say out of stock but available for delivery in some locations, but you have to add to the cart to see whether they deliver to you and then they don't. what he wanted was actually in stock but not available for buying online and picking up.
annoying
hi mool
hey ML, happy Friday
same to ya mool
tx
hey mlfan
hey hokie
My local IKEA often has queues that look really long, but they move really quickly, so it's not as bad as it seems and as I'm only 5 minutes away we tend to go later on in the evening. We can check if things are in stock in a particular store and where it is as well
yeah, only about 15 min from me so I usually go during the week. I wish they had a better system of online checking besides having to add something to your cart.
It's about 75 minutes from me, but fortunately I have no need for furniture right now
hello again :)
hey nan, happy friday
hi mool
In the uk, you don't need to add it to your cart, it says on the item description page if it's in stock at a particular store or not. You can pick the store. Don't know if the us site is the same. Think it's only been updated fairly recently here
i have the ea4/4 that is a directional is the other 4 that is before or after it something i might know?
I was telling my son people drive from far away to go to it. I ran into someone I went to high school with and that is like 4 hrs away.
found the 8!
yay hursh
congrats hurshy
woot! I have the 8 and the 9! but only 7 7's
50 to go
Yes it is MLF
uh, yes, MLF, definitely something you know.
i dont have any of them
i have reversting the last two letters of that word as wlel
ohh duh found it
name that proper noun! Moses portrayer
stil 54 here. LOL. I'm also cooking breakfast (I guess brunch at this point) so a little distracted.
Heston
heston
ding ding ding!!!
There is no way I would ever drive 4 hours to go to an Ikea
me neither, molly
there's no store I'd drive 4 hours for
i have been dying ot go to an IKEA I see some of their things in Domino magazine and other such places i do lok at the IKEA page itself
yeah hrs is a bit nuts
agreed
aythign longer then a half hour is crazy to go anywhere to shop
mlf -- you might be disappointed -- not everything looks as good in reality as it does in a photo
That is so true Nan
cybre yeah i know
I've definitely driven farther than 30 min for shopping
i think the ikea is about an hour from me so unless hubby and i would be staying in an area for reasons other then one store i wouldnt do it
hokie the IKEA is in Charlotte right/
yes, university area, which is north Charlotte, so closer to you.
true
my ex and i used to use IKEA as a cheap date. the food is inexpensive and one can enjoy a simple wander through the store
armtoner. it should not only be a word, it should be a device.
I love wandering through the store. wonder when I'll feel comfortable doing that again?
I would not be impressed by a date at Ikea
perhaps that's why he's now an ex ;)
owl, are those headphones on that owl or some kind of weird device?lol
no, that's not why he's now an ex
headphones
:)
owl thought so i love it:)
could be a clamp
ooh, finally found another word
it's artie
phantom: strict
hokie i went to the grocery store recently for the first time with hubby. No protocol other then masks and no directional
Meatballs and fries are a great midweek lunch, particularly to escape the house when my hubby felt well enough while he was on chemo. No pressure and easy to get to
congrats hokie
yeah, it's very hit or miss on grocery stores here
phantom: alarm
jax hubby and i eat frozen italian meatballs all the time great with white rice and gravy
I love having groceries delivered. It is such a treat not to have to go to the store.
I can't deal with frozen meatballs. I make my own.
here's a very obscure one...
NTPN: Eleventh Doctor's Sontaran companion
I do online occasionally at harris teeter and they just put them in my trunk. I did that pre CV
I make all sorts of meatballs and freeze them as a standby, but it was good to get out of the 4 walls for a little bit
who played the 11th dr, hurshy?
matt smith
I don't do Dr Who
jax grocery store was so much fun besides the masks of course
hmm, not sure I ever saw any episodes with him. I know who he is though.
We went to our regular supermarket this week for the first time since March. It was good to browse.
geez, I have 1/7 on the 2nd A
10 7s here
I only have 3
oh, you mean words...6/7 for me
woohoo i got the 9!
8 7's now

Carla, by the way, I've started watching Perry Mason. Not at all like the Perry Mason I grew up with. : D
have eight 7s left out of my final 22
LOL, def. not, Molly!
i afind him annoying in that role. does he always lower his head and peer upward, or is that a PP things? also the constant furrowed brow...
I have made it to 46, so slow going
well, found an a4, so that helps
Ts Toppled!!
i like today's words. fun.
my phone died last night with 10 to go, i hate that
yeah, been good for me too TO
I was just thinking how this is not my day with this grid
i had exacgtly 5 minutes to find them when i got home. too tired.
5 to go -- all 7's *sigh*
today i will finish before i head out for the evening. if i do. nursing a headache i woke up with
yeah, the sevens are on the tougher side today....mostly because there's so many of them :)
you must have a poor memory, moo
heh, was going to make a joke word, decided I should try it first
turns out it was a real word
don't have any of the ma 7's -- help please?
sugars
I have one who weds
for two of them
and yes, the other is what hoke clued
ty carla
phantom: marmot
thx, moo
sounds like a comic strip...the phantom marmot
ever had a board with phantom phantom?
that's so deep
that would be cool
or maybe phantom menace...for our star wars fans
ty mool
there are two 7s of one who weds?
no, two sugars
2 sugars
ne 7 please?
oh yes, have them ty
deathly sugar?
must be one of my missing n's
ah, good one, moo
:)
isn't one an enzyme?
I have no idea, TO
ah yes, you're right TO
above my pay grade
phantom: atlas
the first one converts the second one :)
I tried atlas earlier just in case
very wise, hokie
deathly sugar went right over my head
think about dying tissue then I guess
think about the word for an animal autopsy or a person that can supposedly raise the dead, nan, then end like the ma sugar word
uh oh our governor is at is again.
ty carla and mool
he is sugeesting that all youth and interscholastic sports be postponed until januray 1
ours keeps getting pushed back. I hope they play the fall sports in the spring at least so my son can have a senior season.
and that is bad? -- I would have thought that would be good news
still 8 4's left, moo! 37 total
jan i is an arbitrary date thrown around for everything
sorry - I just don't understand how playing any game or sport is worth even a single life
one 4....15 left
well it's not like one can know when it will be safe, arbitrary is all one can do
whatever
and then adjust later as needed
30 left for later
well technically anyone could die playing a game or sport
more likely to die in the bathroom
lunchtime!
regardless of CV, so is it ever worth a single life in that case, nan?
phantom: roster
or taking a selfie for that matter
true
more likely to die from COVID than any of those though :)
hopefully not taking a selfie in the bathroom, though moo
well hokie, i know i've been feeling more and more guilty about watching american football over the years as info comes out about TBI
true carla -- but with covid around I don't think it is a risk worth taking -- there are games that don't require physical contact -- why take the risk -- and it's not just about not dying from the disease -- it's all the after effects that survivors are suffering.
hurshy, I feel the same about boxing
only if you are older or have underlying medical conditions. death rate has been steady as a percent
in usa
ah, well, i never did like boxing
per my friends working at johns hopkins
yes, but young people contracting the disease can introduce it to those others
my parents got exposed 2x last week by the home health agency
The issue is not as much whether you're putting yourself at risk, but who else you're putting at risk as a result of your actions
and even young people who have survived the disease have life altering after effects.
:O
the only way to avoid all risk is to stay in your home alone.
that's terrible, carla -- hope they will be OK
carla, sorry. i was exposed, depending on timing and duration, not a sure thing to catch
that is ot the only way, TO -- avoid crowds, social distance and wear a mask when outside your bubble
thx, nan. someone called my mom on M and said the nurse that was there on Fri tested positive. then M or T someone dropped off a packet for them with thermometers, masks' etc, and apparently that lady tested positive.
the germans have done many vettted studies on transmission modes.
double, double, toil and trouble wear a mask outside your bubble
i hope you self-isolated for 14 days after exposure, TO
NTPN - french car
as opposed to the aholes who returned from italy and immediately came to a concert and exposed us all.
citroen.... ;o)
well it's not peugeot...
ah, good on ya pen
my mom had to call 911 the other day because my dad turned the recliner over and was in the floor. she said they came in all suited up, but she had told the dispatcher they were exposed.
ding ding, pen is the winner!
:oD
Okay, will come back for the remaining 13 some time later
enjoy your day peoples
it's nuts. i had a rash and the dr would not see me. now everything is a symptom.
bye, moo
i had had a tick bite.
do you not have virtual conferences with your doctor?
bye moo
nan. thank you for your concern
I had to go to my doc the other day to have an ear checked for infection -- the clinic was on lock down.
the youngest had swimmers ear and had to be diagnosed via phone call. they wouldn't see him because his temp with an ear therm. in that ear was like 100.4
How do they lock down a clinic? Do people have to stay there and not go home?
I had to wait outside until my doctor was ready for me, wear a mask and use hand sanitiser before going through the inner door, was escorted to my doctor's office and taken directly to the examination room. If these are the precautions taken by the professionals, I think we really need to pay attention to how serious this disease is and how difficult it is to control or contain.
Oh, that is how all the doctor's offices are around here now.
same.dentist too. mr. homie had to go the other day for horrible poison ivy and he said there's someone outside the door taking temps.
ditto. for dentist, must wait in car until they phone you. the derm saw me in person. they only took the usual survey re symptoms.
My sister had to have a medication port removed. She had to get tested, test negative and then quarantine for 14 days before.
and no he didn't go to dentist for poison ivy, it was dr. that was worded weird.
I have to say, I don't miss the whole waiting room experience.
o.0
on my way -- hagd everyone and stay safe :)
had to stand outside in line at the local DMV for almost an hour yesterday to title and plate my new (to me) van. Masks required, + 6 ft - but no temp taking.
but at least they are open now.
la7 rhymes with small rodent that begins with H
was in line behind a fellow with a "trump 2020" mask on, couldn't believe he bothered to acquire it. exchanged civilities nonetheless.
I had a dental appointment yesterday. Wait in car until 5 minutes before appointment, wear mask, hand sanitizer is mounted by door to use before entering lobby. When you enter lobby temp is taken. Glad they were taking care of themselves and me. Also husband had a blood draw - call and wait in parking lot until number is safer to enter lobby (they let you know) - it was a quick appointment. No magazines in waiting rooms.
aha, found the la7 now, ty, hursh.
only 3 7's to go. 36 total words left. Just started listing, finally.
they let me go up with our daughter to her neurology apptmt the other day, I was surprised. She's 32 and didn't need me along. Temps and masks, of course.
was expecting to be told no, and to wait in car.
she has MS, and it *is* nice to have someone to help her through doors with her walker and such.
but not essential.
my "new" pulmonologist, who I've had for a year or more, and never actually seen in person, changed my in-person apptmt to a phone consultation last week. I HAD seen his PA a couple of times, before all this, but still not him. so odd to have a dr. you've never seen, for something so important, lol.
and now I'm done monopolizing the chat, thanks, folks.
Glad that you were able to go in with your dd.
I kind of llike the virtual appt. Mister and I are on vacation, he developed an issue. Called Dr office and did a "tele-med" appt and got medicine. Much better than going to an urgent care or emergency room
They're doing that here too. I wonder how many of these on-line consultations etc. will continue after quarantine eases.
I was actually relieved at having it turn into a phone apptmt, yes - did not really want to drive over an hour into a city for it, in my questionable car. (thus the DMV for another vehicle this week, haha.)
I would not be so concerened about a car, but daughter has many, many appointments and tests I have to take her to.
*concerned (of course)
nothing left but T's now, yay.
fw, yay! laters, all. ♥
congrats! HAGD ;)
