My brother's son died at 15 from TYPE I- no one caught it fast enough. Not to bring you down, but his mom didn't report certain observations to my brother, like excessive thirst, and then she went out of town, and left my brother to call 911- it was already too late. Hokie, yours will make it. My brother's family thought he had the flu, and the lost time is what did it.

Wearing a mask whilst in public is rudimentary common sense, but apparently many folk have zero common sense. If everyone does not get on board with masking and distancing it is only going to exponentially prolong this pandemic.
I beleive that the wearing of masks is to protect others should you be asymptomatic.

We understand that it can also attack the bodies through the eyes. My husbands doc said to wear a baseball cap so you can look down if non mask approach you.
I tend to wear glasses or sunglasses along with mask, whilst inside with others.
How in the world would looking down while wearing a baseball cap prevent contracting the virus?

the viral particles will be floating in the air along whatever currents are there. A mask changes the currents, and prevents you touching your face and transmitting viral particles from your hands/clothes. I'm not sure a hat will give much protection.

I'm can speculate that you can get it from french kissing so I have stopped kissing strangers not wearing masks. I read they did contact tracing in NZ and found the virus on a garbage can lid and an elevator button.
