Morning all. Happy Thanksgiving to the USAers amongst us. Could someone please give me stats for the O in the lower right corner?

5:35 am

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving. Both are os4/4

Thank you - found 'em.

5:36 am

Happy Thanksgiving folks

So 'National Restrictions' end next Wednesday, to be replaced with the 'tier' system - we'll be in tier 2 - no socialising indoors, no socialising outside with more than 6 people (in total), pubs can only open for people eating a 'substantial meal', but gyms can open, public attendance at outdoor and indoor events (performances and shows) is permitted, limited to whichever is lower: 50% capacity, or either 2,000 people outdoors or 1,000 people indoors, and you can get a haircut, your nails done or a tattoo, amongst other things. Seems a bit nuts to me.

5:57 am

Ah, there is nothing like the smell of onions and celery simmering in butter, waiting to be added to the stuffing. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

5:58 am

Why nuts Matty?

Well, you can't see someone outside your household indoors, but you can pant in a gym or be at a gig with 1000 people...

5:59 am

Oh yeah, that part seems out of sorts. The larger gatherings thing.

It is crazy Matty, but all of the major brewers are petitioning the government, so hopefully things will change in a couple of weeks!

I hope so. Our local could well go to the wall because of this. It does serve meals, but it's wet led - I doubt the landlord can make any money as things stand without help from the government

I get the need for restrictions and support them, but I'm really beginning to suffer, in truth.

And these restrictions are so varied, they're stupid. Schools and universities remain open

My local is a micropub & has had to turn into an off licence!

And were open during national restrictions

My Mum was in tier 1, suffers 4 weeks lock down and comes out in tier 2!

What's your local, Lind?

We were in tier 1 before the restrictions

it is One in the Wood in Petts Wood

Micropubs and wet led pubs struggle as an off licence in many cases - they can't compete with supermarket prices

Kent has gone from tier 1 to tier 3!

I think I'd like that pub! Yeah, I saw Kent is Tier 3. Merry Christmas to all, right?

My local is the Perseverance in Wraysbury

Aah you are out west!

I am indeed!

I get the joys, in normal times, of South Western Railway

6:07 am

Small businesses here are going under all over the place. The economy is in serious trouble.

I can't believe the British people are sitting back & taking all this sh*t! I shall be protesting in London with the next protest! This is all craziness!

I don't think it's crazy - COVID sucks, I have friends who were in hospital with it and are suffering even now. But I am depressed and frustrated - we should have locked down harder and earlier - then we'd be in a better position now

I personally know 3 people who have tested positive, one a child who was asymptomatic. I am a member of 2 running clubs that total 1000 members and not one has tested positive!

6:12 am

I have to wonder, with all the advances in medicine, why this ever happened in the first place.

Molly in the Uk in January 2018 64,000 people died from the flu! There was no lockdown or restrictions whatsoever. This all seems rather over the top considering that!

Respectfully, Lind, I disagree, as does the scientific consensus. COVID is far more contagious for a start, infecting, without any mitigation, 3 or more people per infected person. It's not just the people who die that matter, but those, like the friends I mentioned, who suffer for months (or longer - who knows) after. Over 66,000 have died in the UK (who have COVID listed on the death certificate) just this year - and hospitals are once again nearing capacity. I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from, but according the government's own statistics, in all of 2019, 1,802 people were admitted to intensive care (ICU) or high-dependency units (HDU) with the flu in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland between week 40 of 2019 and week 14 of 2020, which is peak flu season. Some 103 of those admitted in ICU died – a fatality rate of 5.7 per cent.

That's from Winter 2019 - Winter 2020

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. 2 points, firstly 64,000 in one month and 66,000 in over 7 months and secondly, technically if you tested positive for covid and were then stabbed or killed in a car accident covid was put onto the death cert.

If death occurred within 2 weeks of testing positive that is

But we have enough of this kind of debate in the media & on the news. Let's agree to disagree & just enjoy the game & the company.

6:26 am

Source of your claim Lindrick?

My old boss works with death figures, Madyh

whoops I seem to have stopped chat, sorry x

6:37 am

My biggest problem is all the people who believe that wearing a paper mask is going to protect them or others from disease spread.

what bothers me most is that my MIL turned 100 in June and is potentially spending the last year of her life with no entertainment or company!

6:46 am

Lindrickway, there are no easy options for anybody and I feel for you and your MIL. However, I don't think it's right to fume and fret that the experts don't know what they are doing. Do you really think the world economy would turn itself upside down over nothing? You also spoke of knowing practically nobody who has tested positive. I know quite a few, thankfully no deaths, but the logical result of allowing people into the care homes is that residents will get infected and they will more likely die. I agree, there are no easy solutions and I just wish the whole thing could be over. It will be eventually, but only if people do as they are told, distancing, masks, hand sanitising etc.

Haz, it all depends on which experts/scientists you listen to, seems they can't agree either.

6:51 am

Yes, but the majority of scientists agree, this is a novel coronavirus, it is extremely contagious, the best way to stop spread is to restrict contact, vaccines will help to control the virus.

I guess all we can do is wait, it is just all very frustrating.

6:52 am

I do understand the frustration of seeing normal life being taken away, I do, but letting the virus run riot would be dreadful.

hello, y'all. turkey breast is in the slow cooker. just had to comment this is the most v's I've ever seen in a grid, and I don't like it.

7:19 am

my plan too

7:24 am

My turkey breast is in the regular old oven. It smelled so good when I took it out of the brine.

I got rid of my crock pot and am using the instant pot slow cooker function. wish I'd still had the bigger crock pot. We'll see what happens!

7:45 am

I use my crock mainly for tougher meat. The few times I have cooked poultry in it, the meat has been too soft. I don't know, maybe I did it wrong.

my mom has been doing turkey breast in hers for years and it's always really good. this is my first time in over 20 years doing turkey, so might be good, might not. :D

7:50 am

morning all. happy thanksgiving!

happy thanksgiving to you too!

7:52 am

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends.

bea!

HTG

7:53 am

and you, bea

7:53 am

Carla, I hope your turkey turns out. They say the slow cooker function on the IP is different than a crock pot.

the times I have used it it is way faster than a crock pot

7:55 am

I just got mine in the roaster. Alll slathered with butter and herbs.

7:55 am

wishing all of you a peaceful and happy thanksgiving

7:55 am

my husband is going to smoke our turkey. I hear him in the kitchen now.

Thank you, welki.

7:56 am

I know, ridiculous. I have managed to get 19. made up quite a few and they took.

8:04 am

More Words is your friend!! :-)

8:05 am

Carla, that A is at510. You will kick yourself.

well, I figured it had to be at so that's what I've been trying. still not jumping out so the kicking will have to wait. thanks!

duh! thanks again

why was that so hard to see?

1st column and 1st row gray!

alright, I'm stuck with 41 left. will walk the dog and then do some more cooking. TTFN!

8:26 am

you will kick yourself?

So, smart people. I have come home with a turkey breast weighing 1.25 kilos. I'd normally get it with bacon on it, but can't because my OH's daughter doesn't eat pork. So - what shall I do with it? (Go!) :)

8:28 am

Slather it with butter and roast it.

8:29 am

yum bzz

8:30 am

Add some herbs and seasonings with the butter.

8:30 am

Rinse it off, pat it dry with paper towels. Rub it liberally with butter, even under the skin if you can. Sprinkle with the herbs of your choice (I use poultry seasoning and sage) put it in a roasting pan with some onions, carrots and celery and roast it until your meat thermometer reads 168¯

8:30 am

Sorry, 165

Happily, I have a meat thermometer :) Butter and herbs it is - thank you! Mine's boneless.

8:38 am

Don't have any sage in the house ((((((

8:40 am

bichon you can substitute marjoram or rosemary

8:40 am

Poultry seasoning has sage in it

8:40 am

I get the bone in because I like to make soup with the carcass

I have fresh sage - no poultry seasoning though so I shall have to make my own

I've taken today and tomorrow off because I have leave to use before the end of the year, so I though, why not do a mini-Thanksgiving in the UK ;)

8:44 am

8:58 am

A building.

*singing, once upon a time there was a ta*, where we used to raise a glass or two*

8:58 am

ta6 is a bar

8:58 am

thanks so much zooz

8:59 am

The Macy's parade is creepy without all the people lining the street watching.

8:59 am

The other S is sa8.45

8:59 am

it is different indeed Molly

9:00 am

What's creepy is this is the first Thanksgiving we will be alone

9:01 am

ty bea.looking without success

9:01 am

There aren't any at the parade this year.=)

9:02 am

You probably have the base word from the S above it.

9:03 am

A happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it!

9:03 am

found an sa7but from anotherS

9:04 am

thanks Zoom

9:04 am

Hope the harvest this year was plentiful!

9:04 am

Sorry it is ST8.45

9:05 am

got it ty Bea

9:07 am

Oh my, the parade has CGI balloons. They are not really there, they are all computer generated. Weird.

9:07 am

I did not know that

9:08 am

Sometimes CGI can look scarily realistic.

9:08 am

also a lot of people who watch the parade must need a lot of medicines (that have a startling number of side effects)

9:09 am

thanks for the clues. I asked and then got called to the kitchen.

9:10 am

hello babble friends

9:11 am

Hello, sprite.

9:11 am

Hello ((Sprite!)) How are you doing? I heard you have been unwell?

hi sprite :-)

9:11 am

entenmann's! black out cake!

9:11 am

hiya zooz and Bea, and LWG :D Yeah, struggling with health issues quite a bit.

9:12 am

how are you all doing?

9:12 am

hi sprite - hope you're on the mend

9:13 am

hiya welki :) yes, very slowly, but yes, on the mend

9:13 am

Sorry to hear that. I hope you find the time to recover from the various things you have been going through ❤

9:13 am

phantom: astral

9:13 am

thanks zooz *hugs* How are you and the parents doing?

9:14 am

I''ve got 25 left. Heading back to the kitchen for a while.

9:14 am

We are plodding on as usual haha! I will not bore you with the details of their ailments It would take too long.

9:14 am

bfn, Bea!

9:15 am

How are the rest of your family? Well I hope?

9:15 am

kids are well, thank God. Rob has been very ill, errrrr wait, need to look up translation, lol, weird word

9:16 am

right: erysipelas

9:16 am

but he has been fever-free for 2 days now, and the inflamed area is getting smaller, so also on the mend

9:16 am

I will have to google it. Never heard of it before.

9:17 am

it is when bacteria enter deeper tissues and cause inflammation there. If untreated, it can lead to blood poisoning.

9:17 am

very grateful to the gp who took it seriously and gave Rob a very thorough examination.

9:18 am

Streptoccocus bacteria. Nasty.

9:18 am

I am oleased he is on the mend!

9:18 am

Pleased*

9:19 am

Erysipelas is fun to say. a nasty Strep infection.

9:19 am

yes it was. Incredibly painful too. Never a dull moment here, lol. Now tell... how are you and the 'rents?

9:19 am

I am relieved Rob is improving, Sprite.

9:20 am

lol Scrabs :D Hi there, and yeah, it is definitely a kind of babble word.

9:20 am

me too, it was a bit tense for a bit.

9:21 am

Was that question to me? If so not sure what you mean by rents.

9:21 am

I think of you often. I am the school MD for the nearby Holland School District.

9:21 am

sorry, parents :D

9:22 am

oh wow, that is quite a job, Scrabs. Especially now, I think?

9:22 am

Haha! I did answer that already alas we are all okay. Just plodding along :-)

9:22 am

sorry, missed it. Glad you are all okay.

9:23 am

No worries. Chat can move pretty fast at times.

9:23 am

true, and my brain is still not back on track. The corona brain fog is REAL.

9:24 am

I can imagine. I am still wondering what the long term effects will be.

9:24 am

There are 4 local districts that my physician group takes care of. Only one is open now (Holland) as the others have high COVID rates.

9:25 am

I admire all people in your profession, Scrabs.

9:25 am

Nice to see you Sprite. I need to step away for a bit. Take care 💖

9:25 am

*hugs zooz* Lovely to connect again.

9:25 am

I admire the emergency and intensive care doctors and nurses. They are overwhelmed with illness and death.

9:26 am

me too. It is amazing, the day-to-day dedication of you all.

9:27 am

hm I really thought endorsal was a word

9:27 am

I have no alternative. I cannot quit.

9:28 am

we are all very much in your debt, Scrabs. It's been a long haul and still no vaccin, though things start to look a little more hopeful there.

9:30 am

To have multiple effective, safe vaccines is a miracle. Vaccination is the only way to stop this pandemic and death.

9:31 am

absolutely true. Can't be rushed, they have to be sure they are both safe and effective before taking it further.

9:32 am

The research was being done already then adequate funding, approvals, and volunteers made this happen in 7-8 months instead of 5-10 years.

9:33 am

isn't it incredible? Most of us have no idea how much work and dedication that took

Hey - Sprite! Long time no see. How's you?

9:34 am

It was an outstanding, huge effort.

9:34 am

hi matty! *hugs* Have been poorly, slowwwwly on the mend though. How about you?

9:34 am

couldn't agree more, Scrabs

I'm good - feeling tired and fed up and somewhat flat, but I have my health and family. I'm sorry you've been poorly - virtual hugs and healings

9:36 am

thanks :) Great to hear you and yours are well. In these times, that is something to be very grateful for. Even though it isn't easy on anyone, this Covid battle.

9:36 am

t is a surreal time.

Matilda (granddaughter) is doing great and is beautiful (over 7 months old now) - they're in Melbourne so they are all COVID free and able to do fun things

9:37 am

oh that is wonderful matty!

9:39 am

good morning everyone :)

9:39 am

hi nan :)

9:39 am

Happy Thanksgiving, Scrabbs

9:39 am

hello nan

back from my walk. can I get a stat for bottom middle s?

9:40 am

9:41 am

I know it because it's the one I am looking for too!

got 'em both, bottom row gray! thx.

9:42 am

I am totally out of training for this, lol. Not even halfway, and stumped. Nowhere near a grey bottom row.

it's crazy how you fall out of practice

9:43 am

true!

when I first came back after years off it was like I couldn't get halfway ever

I'm just over halfway, but not doing well at all

9:46 am

I don't often take part in the chat, but I do enjoy seeing familiar names each morning so I want to take this opportunity to wish all Babblers a safe, healthy, and Happy Thanksgiving!

thanks, pcal! join in more :D. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

And to you, pcal!

I'm sure there must be ass words (as it were, oooo errr), but I cannot see them

9:47 am

I have found that I don't do well when I try to chat and solve the grid! LOL

9:48 am

I think the grid has changed over the years -- more questionable words, foreign words and discipline specific words

well there's a 4 that describes what a young girl might have

9:48 am

No, matty, no "ass" words!

Aah - that'll be why I can't find them, then ;)

LOL, nan, the grid still uses the same word list that it did in the whatever year Dr. God started this. so, it hasn't really.

9:51 am

sure seems like it

9:52 am

I used to finish this without a list all the time - not any more

the grids are computer generated

9:53 am

a clue for ne5,18 please?

9:53 am

It couldn't possibly be me :D I'm convinced enable is like wikipedia -- anyone can enter anything

it's like a mole or birthmark, lindy

well, as moo has stated several times, there have been very few updates to enable, but this game still uses the very first one, so not really like wikipedia.

9:56 am

ne5 ends with a pronoun

9:57 am

thanks all

well, I'm going to try a new GF biscuit recipe. hopefully will see words while working. kinda stuck at 35.

9:58 am

10:00 am

gm ru - Happy Thanksgiving

10:00 am

The Enable Word List has not been updated in 20 years and no, it is not like Wikipedia. People cannot alter it.

10:01 am

LOL ding ding ding to bookgrrl. and ru, will certainly not be that.

10:01 am

:D i like mine guess better nan.. happy thanksgiving to you too

LOL an 8/45 against the cartoon explorer

10:01 am

I like Ru's better too

10:02 am

I would love to have a good f-ing biscuit again

10:03 am

how rude is that, luv?

10:03 am

and thanks!

10:03 am

It took me years to master, but I can finally make good biscuits.

10:03 am

10:23 am

I know!

10:23 am

7 hours in a car is kind of my limit

10:24 am

We switch drivers every 2 or 3 hours, so that helps

10:24 am

I like driving, but the interstates get to me after awhile

11:02 am

60 to go - time to add more charcoal. later!

11:02 am

and probably won't see them before next summer

11:06 am

The dog show is starting, always such a good watch! Won't be the same without secondo here to narrate - she does it from the dog's perspective, and it's HILARIOUS

11:06 am

am watching it too, Trif

11:07 am

this poor dog looks mortified

11:07 am

Winston & I are watching too

11:08 am

there's the lamb dog

11:08 am

Indy feigns indifference, but I know he is secretly rooting for the black labs

11:09 am

yeah, Winston is a little disinterested in the terriers

11:09 am

I would give all the money in my possession if just ONCE the dog judges would judge the miss america contestants in the same manner. lololololol

11:09 am

haha

11:10 am

the year the dalmatian ripped a dump in the ring was also memorable....

11:11 am

I do not remember that, but I'm sure Winston would have approved.

11:12 am

Mr. Homie has taken him to Lowe's twice and both times he pooped in the store.

11:12 am

the judge did not.

11:15 am

only 600 dogs this year vs. 2000. I hope the golden retriever makes it in!

11:18 am

just looked for the sa 6/7 in dict. i love it when the dict. says nothing found...........so how is this in the grid?????? i just dont get it.

11:19 am

ve 7/40 please?

11:19 am

these v's are brutal

11:20 am

I still need 6 v's, do not have that one

11:21 am

got it.. ve7.40 ends with the picnic pest

11:21 am

thanks aloy.

11:22 am

11:47 am

i cannot budge the t in the top row, second column, which of course means it's something totally obvious . have mercy on me, someone?

11:47 am

think pinball games

11:48 am

11:48 am

oh for fecks sake.

11:48 am

how embarrassing

11:48 am

???

11:48 am

happens to us all

11:48 am

LOL, it happens

11:49 am

I had the same problem with the bottom left A

11:49 am

I cannot fathom how I can't see words, sometiems

11:49 am

times

11:49 am

you're human?

11:51 am

i still don't have the bottom left a, actually. stats?

11:52 am

i don't have the bottow row center s either

11:53 am

bottom left a is at5.10

11:53 am

hm. i have an ar5/10 but not from there

11:54 am

do you want a hint?

11:54 am

center S is sa6/18 , 7/28

11:55 am

thanks, i think i'll monkey it eventually. probably a fish right?

11:55 am

its a normal word, at least

11:55 am

i have sa + Scarlett's house, hokie. is that what you need?

11:55 am

something you might use traveling on roads

11:55 am

thank you hokie. let's see if that helps me at all. I am distracted by all the dogs, for sure

11:56 am

not me, I was trying to help Trif

11:56 am

I have 7 left, 6 a's

11:57 am

that is what I needed, dorens, bless you!!!

11:57 am

sorry. silly me not keeping up with the chat properly

11:57 am

oh. good, then. i'm off for a walk. the sun actually came out here and it wasn't supposed to

11:58 am

nice, we've had rain and clouds

12:00 pm

turkey is out and looking FINE - needs to rest now.

12:00 pm

you are lucky dorens, bucketing rain here

12:01 pm

mine was still pink when I looked earlier. may be having supper!

12:03 pm

the golden just screwed up!

12:04 pm

poor thing

12:05 pm

Winston missed it

12:26 pm

Greetings, everyone! And Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans!

12:34 pm

Happy Thanksgiving to all Babblers south of the border! :)

12:53 pm

Yes, let's remember what the Pilgrims were so thankful for... “By God’s visitation, reigned a wonderful plague,” reads the 1620 Charter of New England by the English crown. “that had led to the utter Destruction, Devastacion, and Depopulation of that whole territory.”

1:03 pm

That's cheery

1:03 pm

yep. nothing like praising God for wiping out tons of other people to clear the way for you.

1:17 pm

I think there was more to it than that, but whatever.

1:22 pm

yes, they were thankful for the harvest and stuff too

1:23 pm

i just think that one needs to have a dose of sober repentance alongside one's gratitude, if one recognizes that one's ancestors were kinda sickos.

1:36 pm

can somebody explain to me why meat needs to rest?

1:37 pm

It allows the juices to return back to the outer parts of the meat

1:38 pm

from where? the inner?

1:38 pm

https://tinyurl.com/y42au7x3

1:38 pm

or from the pan?

1:38 pm

the center

1:39 pm

it's funny, I was just reading the reasoning earlier today

1:39 pm

I think I understand -

1:39 pm

juice more absorbed in the fibers of the flesh so when you cut it doesn't all run out between the grain?

1:39 pm

that url I posted has more background on it

1:40 pm

Yes I perused it

1:40 pm

that''s where I got that theory from :)

1:40 pm

I'm a vegetarian and cooking a turkey for my family - it's all theoretical for me, but I want it to taste good for them.

1:41 pm

but I know when I cook london broil or brisket I also let it rest, and I never knew why. I just blindly obeyed.

1:43 pm

Yeah, I've also been trying to figure out how best to refrigerate it afterwards...

1:44 pm

Not quite the same, but similar, I've cooked seafood for my friends and family, though I won't eat it myself

1:44 pm

we're going to have a ton of leftovers. the family we usually dine with is obviously not coming, and two of my kids have already told me they're not eating it.

1:45 pm

so we have a 15 lb turkey for 4 ppl. unless the cat is REALLY hungry, we're going to need more freezer room.

1:48 pm

50 to go!

1:48 pm

One year I put the carcass in my backyard and got a Red Tailed Hawk and the a bunch of Turkey Vultures

1:49 pm

hah! here I would have a mountain of raccoons fighting over it.

1:49 pm

yeah, same here

1:49 pm

and some very angry neighbors :)

1:49 pm

I think the skunks may have already gone to sleep

bumpasses!

1:53 pm

not sure where to parse that word carla. it could mean two very different things

1:53 pm

happy thanksgiving hoke

it's from A Christmas Story, the neighbors are named Bumpass and their dogs run through the main character house and devour their turkey.

thanks, moo. happy thanksgiving to you, too

1:54 pm

:)

1:54 pm

my favorite holiday

1:55 pm

very small European country in the board

1:55 pm

mool, refrigerate leftover turkey upside down (might want to cook it that way, too) - will keep the white meat moist

hmm, not luxembourg

1:56 pm

i had good luck last year spatchcocking our turkey - not the same traditional presentation, but ultra juicy and very crispy skin

1:56 pm

tx welk, I have tried the upside down cooking method before, but to be honest have found smaller birds and brining gave me a better effect

1:56 pm

45 to go - bbl hopefully. have a happy dinner everybody

1:57 pm

later HH, happy eating to you too

1:57 pm

brining is primo if you have the time

1:58 pm

agreed...always make the time :)

I'm in the running around like a chicken with head cut off stage right now ;) so why am I posting here then? (in before Molly)

1:59 pm

I wasn't planning on cooking a whole bird this year, but wife request it...so I've ended up with this monster 22lb bird....we'll see how that goes

1:59 pm

I've got turkey in the oven, vegetables prepped...nothing for me to do for a couple of hours

2:00 pm

it's been a few years since i've been in the states for thanksgiving - i sure miss it

2:01 pm

Yeah, I really like the holiday...beats christmas with a stick IMO :)

2:01 pm

welki, do you feel the canadian thanksgiving isn't as good?

2:02 pm

what is different about it?

2:02 pm

i used to open my house to family, friends and anyone who didn't have anywhere else to go. was always a great day

2:03 pm

Yeah, my first one I cooked two turkeys in my little new york city kitchen, made a whole bunch of food over to my ex-wife's work (they were emergency veterinarians)

2:03 pm

hurshy, it's not that it's not "as good," but it doesn't seem to hold as much importance of thankful gathering as it does down below. it doesn't seem to be as big a deal up here

2:03 pm

When we were in Miami we did big gatherings, with friends, family....20+ people in our little house

2:04 pm

Quieter this year though :)

2:04 pm

same here, mool - didn't matter how small the apartment/house was, we always fit everyone in

2:04 pm

what holidays are a big deal in canada?

2:04 pm

yeah, I kept old tables and chairs just for that day

2:05 pm

one year, some guy showed up that we'd met camping in yellowstone - he came to nyc from ohio!

2:05 pm

that's cool...we've certainly extended invites to friends staying with friends kind of thing

2:06 pm

we did one as a "bring a dish that means something to you"...that was pretty cool. A real mix of traditional food and interesting new things

2:06 pm

my observation is that christmas, canada day and (of all things) halloween are the ones that are most outwardly celebrated

2:07 pm

when does canada day occur?

2:07 pm

july 1

2:07 pm

July 1st right?

2:07 pm

usually also the first day of free agency in the NHL :)

2:08 pm

true :D

2:08 pm

my cat Opie is extremely thankful to be his amazing, glorious, magnificent self

2:08 pm

I think our dog is going to be grateful that we have such a huge turkey

2:08 pm

and at least one of the cats..the other two are more picky

2:09 pm

too picky to want turkey? wow

2:10 pm

oh yeah, I have one that will eat pretty much any catfood, but won't touch most human food...will eat plastic though for some reason

2:10 pm

Have another that will eat almost any kind of meat

2:10 pm

and then a third who will put his nose in pretty much any human food, but bit hit and miss on what he'll eat....which is surprising, because he's always hungry

2:10 pm

my Marty liked apples best, at first. then he later shifted his allegiance to carrots.

2:11 pm

The dog though, she'll eat pretty much anything and is always looking at me wistfully when I cook

well, I am stuffed

an 8 pls? and hoping your holiday was good

4:11 pm

an8 - against the child cartoon explorer :-)

4:12 pm

Hi dan.. ha,, I had just found it and was about to clue also!

thank you

4:12 pm

yw

4:13 pm

can anybody clue the sa6 from the center column?

4:16 pm

Where kids play baseball...

4:16 pm

that's a sa7 isn't it? from the 4th row S?

4:16 pm

Great movie

4:17 pm

Oops...shouldn't Babble-clue after dinner and wine...

4:17 pm

The 6 is sa + Scarlett's home

4:17 pm

ty Molly

4:30 pm

ve7?

I'm assuming not the plural one. the other is the slope of a mountain, but that probably doesn't help.

starts with poem parts, ends with insect

4:34 pm

ty carla! that's firewords for me

well done!

5:01 pm

verso

5:01 pm

versant

5:01 pm

hi scrabs

5:01 pm

Free clues!

5:01 pm

huzzah!

5:02 pm

I am seeing a lot of words that I did not see this morning.

6:01 pm

back to finish....hello all....*waving to the lurkers*....

6:07 pm

*Waves at Saint Penquis. How was your Thanksgiving?

6:08 pm

well, it was solitary....but my neighbor brought me a plate of turkey dinner with all the fixings, so it was nice....a treat really....how about you?

6:09 pm

Nice neighbor. Mine was good, thanks.

6:09 pm

hallo, back to finish 45. with a list

6:10 pm

hi Harry....i have listed as well....

6:10 pm

And what did the Hood clan do for Thanksgiving?

6:10 pm

ate, ate, and ate some more.

6:13 pm

we do have a long-standing tradition to go on a thanksgiving hike and then eat ice cream. but it rained today, so we're doing it tomorrrow

6:17 pm

that sounds nice....i am going on a walk in the cemetery tomorrow afternoon with a friend....with masks and social distancing, of course....

6:18 pm

I like walking around cemeteries

6:19 pm

this one is a good size....nice natural looking landscaping.....peaceful....and nice paths with some elevation variety....good place to walk....

6:21 pm

my kids, who are not always so fond of hiking, are insisting on this walk tomorrow.. . its like family tradition now trumps all - kind of nice

6:22 pm

that is very nice...

6:23 pm

and one said during dinner "when we all grow up, we need to get together for thanksgiving every year"

6:23 pm

LOL.....nice....

6:23 pm

then he said "it can be in my house, since I'll be really rich by then"....which kind of ruined the sentiment :)

6:27 pm

hah!....how old is he?

6:28 pm

he turns 14 on saturday!

6:29 pm

well at least he is ambitious!

6:30 pm

i have hit the endless Vs.....

6:31 pm

1 word left here - ar5/12

6:31 pm

done!

6:31 pm

6:31 pm

congrats...

6:31 pm

have a good night pen :) happy t!

6:32 pm

ditto to you, harry....

6:42 pm

6:43 pm
