Red letter day!! I found the 9 all by my little self!!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone. Here's to better days.
Happy new year, peeps
See, there is a reason 2020 wasn't such a bad year. That beautiful baby joined us in 2020. May 2021 be the year you get to hold her, Matty.
I fervently hope so! Thank you, Molly!
And she really is a stunner (says the clearly biased grandmother)
I am SO looking forward to a picture of you two together.
It'll be in her prom dress at this rate ;)
As my mother used to say, perish the thought.
I'm thankful for Facetime. Sarah (my daughter) sent me a photobook - it's lovely

Does anyone have stats, please, for the N in the second column, fourth row?

Cheers
Love the pic of Tilly! She is adorbs :)
She really is! Such a happy baby
Good morning/day to all.
Hey, scrabs et al!!
a happy 2021 to all - may it bring our contagion under control at last...
Indeed, Dan!!
I received my CoV vaccine (Moderna) at 5pm yesterday.
Did anyone ever dream they would be getting a New Year's greeting like that?
huzzah Scrabbs! such good news
Woohoo!!
We received an unexpected call from our little community hospital that they had 6 doses that would expire at 9pm. Four docs and 2 nurses headed up the street and were together in the vaccine room. That was our NYE party.
What? No A's? What will Carla and Bea chat about all morning? : D
what a gift! puts a genuine smile on my face for you and your patients
10 months of anxiety and fear have been difficult, for all of us.
Glad you got your vaccine. I was very suprised that an in law of daughter, a vet tech, got her vaccine
Interesting.
it is another "up to the states to figure it out" mess, imo
Yes, no leadership, no plan.
vein
I have that one already. Toss out a biggie.
oops sorry PB for me ;-( happy new year everyone!
no A's? I didn't even notice last night. must be why it went so well.
Happy New Year, Babble Friends!
happy new year, bea, et al
No A's, but the I's are stinkers.
true, I struggled for a while last night to get halfway on the i's. now need 2 on 1st row and 2 on 3rd row
I'm thinking an 8 lurks in there.
Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year!!
phantom interim
I do have an in8, bea
HNY, peri!
GM, peri!
took me a really long time to find
This isn't going well...
I am pretty stuck at 34.
I have grayed 7 tiles but have 8 that just need 1 word.
Happy New Year! May it be a new beginning for all of us!
well, there's an easy 4
foin
same to you, swmbo!
darn, sorry
I only have 31 words!
but you finish a tile before moving on, right bea?
Not today...=)
I was going to suggest you move on today. :D
I Babble in a higglety pigglety way.
I'm in the higglety pigglety club too
Hey, monkey!
Hi! Happy New Year Bzz
To you as well.
I have a general work left to right, top to bottom, try to get halfway on each tile before moving on, but it ends up being higglety pigglety because I type all words as I see them.
Yay I just found lo9. Taking a break now with nbs/nbt
nice. do not have any 9s yet
but that is my missing L!
Million dollar tickets, hokie
duh, thanks
BBL, have a good New Year's Day everyone
it actually popped out at me right after I said it was my missing L. sat back and drank a sip of coffee. maybe I should do that more.
you too!
op
everyone knows belly buttons are innies and outies. even my spellcheck disagrees with enable.
I know I try that one every time it is in the grid. Still disappointed every time too.
me too. I think I've tried it 3 times in this one.
Back. My handyman fixed my sump pump. Yay.
yay
My handyman is going to put a chair height toilet in this weekend. I hope that goes smoothly.
That will be great for your mother. I got my mother the chair that is positioned over the toilet.
made it to 26. worst tiles are the 3rd col T and the P.
oh, found a te7/8 combo
I found the British trucks, lo7/28.
:-)
I have a te7 that already ends in S.
this one ends like the vidalia
oh, means a group of 3
Oh, TY. I tried 2 r's in the middle.
yw
happy new year, babblers
welki! I wish a happy new year to you too.
totally stuck on tr9/66. Been looking for ages. Any nudges?
Happy New Year to you too, dearest welki.
must be my missing 9. will look
well, that one is not jumping out at me, swmbo
yeah it is a tough one. Thanks for looking though
tr 9 - a period of three years
Just found it. Thanks, Chris
yep, thanks chris!
well, I was on the right track. did I do the maths right, one 2 pt tile with the rest 1 pt tiles?
PHEW that one was hard to see. THANKS!
No, 2 2pt tiles
there are two 2 point tiles
ok...
Finally found your t 7/8 combo.
Tx woolychris
I'm slow today.
I am still working on the 3-year word.
apparently I am too since I'm still looking for that. never fear, I think I know the ending now
got it, thx
scrabbler, think of the ending of the 1000 year period
That is for the tr9?
21 left here - i E T H NN VVV i R J O G S PPP F MM. Gee, could it be more spread out. 2 4's, 7 5's, 6 9's, 3 7's
yes
Morewords gave me the tr9.
I was about to go that route as well. no shame in that.
oh, finished that N. 19 left!
i've come to a screeching halt with 38 left
Happy Babbling New Year everyone.
that was a stuck point for me as well. not sure how I moved on.
Aloy!!
to you too, aloy :)
I made all of my NYE dinner in the Air fryer or the Instant pot.
first word spotted was in8.. looks like a fun grid to start the New Year
HNY,
Aloy
nice, bea
I did use my IP air fryer last night
good eye, aloy. in8 was not easy for me to see
I also made chicken wings in it.
Clue for the in8, please?
usually comes before designer when talking about someone and houses
TY!
np!
Duh! Thanks.
it's very twisty
oh, we have rain now
sorry Scrabbs, hubby came in and distracted me with grocery questions (shopping on tap today)
Bring it on!
has anyone finished the J?
not me, i have one j left
Yes.
cannot figure out why my missing one could be
ooh, care to guess for me & welki, bea?
happy anniversary Bea
three ji's and thre jo's.
it's probably the one i'm missing, hokie - the ones i have are pretty straightforward
good memory, ru .and happy anniv. bea!
Thank you, ru.
hi ru.. and Happy Anniversary to Bea. Need to catch up with chat
aha! got 'em!
well mine is definitely a ji
I got him a card. It wasn't an anniversary card, but it was perfect for us.

GOOD MORNING! and Happy New Year to all
he had a big ol' honking mustache too
hi saani
morning saanich.. happy new years to you
HNY to saanichcat and ruru and anyone else coming in...
"Sometimes we are crazy abour each other and sometimes we drive each other crazy. But, I'm always crazy on love with you."
happy new year ru and saanich
that's sweet bea
aww, sweet
Ru, he has always had a big mustache.
hi welki.. hope it's not too cold up there
i am growing mine back now that it's all one color
about 9F here, not too bad
jeez
we have ourselves a little snow dog here - just loves jumping into deep snow, runs circles in it and, amazingly, none gets stuck in her paws
first dog we've had that, after five minutes outside, doesn't live a paw and give the "carry me" look
live should be lift
wow, it really sticks to winston's. he has a lot of fur between the webbing that I have to trim frequently
my dog loves the snow
he also loves the snow
water not so much
speaking of winston, he came and nudged me. guess someone wants to eat.
all the others have liked the snow, but not like this one
winston loves the water
welki, that sounds like my Marco. Definitely not a lab
when does your dog see snow, ru?
i took him up to tahoe a couple times
anyone want to guess my missing F?
am thinking for the New Year.. maybe I will look up some of the babblets to see what they mean
Do you have a 7?
yes
Do you have the one that sound like the plant?
yes. I have 4 4's and a 5. 2 fi (incl the 7) and 4 fo
three fi's
another fi4
you need fum hokie
fe fi fo fum?
lol
bea was your marriage a first for both of you?
LOL! No, I'm Mr. Bea's third wife. He is my second.
thought so, but wanted to ask to be sure
Happy Anniversary Bea. You picked a fun day to get married.
My bro was married on July 4th.. independence day.. we don't forget his anniversary
ok, I'm back. had to take winston out. it's miserable out there.
I think when Mr. Bea picked the day, he thought he could get out of it with Y2K. =)
sorry, hon, there's a glitch, we can't get married. :D
mr. homie & I have our 26th anniversary in a few days.
It was a fun wedding. My girlsfriends played guitar and sang. I had to stop the ceremony so I could show everyone my wedding ring, which was a huge surprise.
haha
What was the surprise about your ring?
Happy New Year, fellow Babblers!
HNY gingin
We had picked out simple gold bands. He upped the game and gave me an emerald cut sapphire surrounded by diamond bagettes.
wow, nice surprise!
Oh, that sounds gorgeous. Good for Mr. Bea.
I like this guy
well I am really slow today because I'm baffled by this fi4. have tried everything, even things like fimg and fijg
Yes, he is a keeper. =)
omg, finally. I swear I did that one already
do you have the italian "end"?
do you have the misspelled plant, carla?
Happy New Year to all.
Yep. Any man who can fix things and gives good bling is a keeper.
it was the spanish sherry
HNY, melonhead
hi melon and gingin
see, that's what I mean.. I need to look up some meanings this yea
year ..
not to mention he's a funny guy molly.. making 'em laugh is half of a good marriage
Happy New Year all
hi, hokie and Aloyisius, my New Year' res should be more babbling, altho also to get to bed before the flip!
I know, I'm too old to stay up that late. feeling it today.
I agree Ru. Being able to make each other laugh goes a long way to making a good relationship.
HNY, mlfan!!
same to you hokie
we stayed up that late and then went to bed right after lll
oh, I see an english actress in the grid...name that proper noun!
Hubby got up at his usual time i got up about 2 hurs later

2nd column bottom N anything i might know/
hi penquis, HNY
ty...
ne4/7 and a no7 I don't have yet
no7 is kinda stupid IMO
ne4 is a latin plural of a spot on your skin
a winter wonderland of frozen rain and sleet and snow outside. very pretty to look at.
and an anagram of something you might see just under your skin,
was missing that S, thanks, pen
found it and agree with carla
no7 is permanent press
oh, it's british
ty bzz
yes, what you want to pack for traveling
so maybe not stupid to the brits here
ne4 working on it
i found a word for that n apparently
how are you doing on the V, bea?
Grey.
nice. still need 3.
Bea is free of the V, see
3 V's and 3 P's and just one on all the other white tiles
help with the 2nd he7?
I'm still working on the P, H and one r.
the plural man's name that always throws us
found a 9!
second he is plural of the short srory writer.
thanks carla that's firewords!
well done, dan
wtg dan, congrats
congrats....
still 14. will have to list soon.
Congrats, dan
Ah yes Bea, the infamous O
thanks to you also for the clue Bea, and all cluers
I need to revisit him.
brb ..
Molly, do you have your peas cooking?
the gift of the magi. I think that's the only one I can remember.
My Dad loved his Christmas story. I put it out every year.
He liked The Ransom of Red Chief too.
i liked The Ransom of Red Chief, too....
oh, I read that too
Just three R's left.
Im stuck on m, g and v
it's funy....i have 30 left to find, but i have all the Rs... ;o)
G and V were tough today.
I need 1 R from the 6
I have i E T H VVV i R O G PPP
you are making my head spin...
LOL, it's very easy if you go left to right, top to bottom
but trying to find these is making my head spin
I'm off to make donuts in the airfryer...
yum
I guess that means you finished. still stuck on 14 here.
stuck with 28 left....time to list, i guess....
I went to the list.
so far nothing new, except maybe the e
a little mad about the 3 p's
and my R was a babblet, so a little mad about that too
i am always mad about seeing words on the list that i should have found....and it always happens!
yep
ok, had to skip 2 - the i and o
i am mssing an i as well....
there's the o
yes, just found that one...
oh, the i is almost the same word :D
that's it for me!
congrats....just found the i, too....
yay hokie, congrats
down to only 4 V words left...
I have just this second decided I am going to try to finish a quilt a month this year. have 11 or 12 quilt tops that my grandmother finished that made their way to me. so, I'm going to finish those off and give to my cousins.
that is a great plan!
lucky cousins
have had them for a couple of years but seemed overwhelming before. this seems much more manageable.
I started a baby blanket that turned into a bedspread.. need to finish that and then make a smaller lighter blanket before baby comes in May..
I think each of us already have 2 or 3 quilts she made and finished. these are mostly flannel 9 patch or crazy quilt but there is one double wedding ring that I will keep for myself. :D
so I will probably just keep it simple with stitch in the ditch quilting. though she used to do hand quilting, usually baptist fan.
funny how that happens, Aloy!
yes, it is a soft yarn but suprisingly heavy.. don't want to smother a little one! DIL wanted a "big" blanket.. oh boy..
I have been saving t-shirts for my boys to make them a t-shirt quilt and it will probably end up much bigger or I need to make 2 or not include all I want to.
Haha. so is that knitting?
no, crocheting
ah, I don't know how to do either of those
wish I could sew.. never learned. My mother used to say that she supported the safety pin factory
my mom sewed but mostly clothes, she never learned to quilt. I took a class as an adult and learned how to sew.
ah so.. a great hobby if you enjoy it..
I'm sure she or my grandmother would have taught me had I been interested back then. :D
i was always afraid of the sewing machine... :o0
I can see why, pen..
I should probably needle you about that pen
you are SEW predictable, ru...
lol pen!
can't find my last word even though i know the first three letters....annoying or what?!
i am done....finally....
Congrats!
I have had needles break and fly at my face. have also stuck my finger when putting the needle down a couple of times.
well done, pen!
and we will give you a small tiara today
yay pen, congrats! I have to scoot, will bbl to finish.. happy babbling :-)
my mother once worked for a tailor...she made a lot of my clothes and playthings (like a quiver for my arrows)....she tried to teach me but I resisted....
*looking mighty fine wearing my tiara*.....
bye aloy...
you have me in stitches pen
you are darn funny at times...at times... ;o)
i don't suppose you will mend your ways anytime soon...
off to do the crossword....bye all....*waving to the lurkers*....

happy new year to y'all I missed this morning!
Happy New Year
this isn't a terribly fun grid
I thought it was decently fun
i'm not enjoying it
gu 5/16, pls
agreed hurshy
i have finished the 4s, need 6 fives and 6 sixes, 9 sevens and all of the 8s and 9s
add a u to one of the g4's, bichon
aha that was one of the fives
so, what have we got for 8s and 9s?
one of the 9s is easy when you see it
orry not getting the gu5/16?
one of the 8s is a regular word but twisty
other 8 is a plural
lo9 is a pl
other 9 took me a while
ty carla
with clues
thanks MLF
yw hurshy
well then i probably need clues too hokie, lol
tr9, a 3 year period
got the gu 5/16
think of a 1000 year period
oh, that wasn't so bad :D
what are the first letters on the 8s?
I didn't think it would trouble you
te8 and in8
i am of no help i dont have either
te8 is groups of three
it shouldn't trouble you when it's a double-you and it goes w- w- w- w- !
tE is groups of three? hmm
not a word I was familiar with
does it start with the word for a group of 3?
no
it is te
it ends with most of a veggie
or veggies I should say
got the te 7/7 ty hokie
thanks got that now
in8 is followed by designer when referring to home deco
ah
omg ty hokie
or singular of a woody allen movie
thanks
never heard of that one
it was his first foray into non-comedy. not my cup of tea.
40 to go. I'm listing.
40 to go. I'm listing.
don't think I've ever seen a woody allen film
wow carla. That's right up there with never having eaten eggplant.
i haven't seen woody allen films either
io6?
holy cow
he was before our time
io6 and on5 were my last 2 and they are the same word but add a letter to one, obvi
yeah, by the time i was old enough to watch his movies, there was a cloud of suspicion over him
we watched his movies as little kids. my parents were big fans.
not always totally appropriate...
ty hokie
I bet my parents never saw any either
new york is so far culturally from them
they held your interest as a little kid?? i didn't think they would be able to do such a thing
yes I guess it's a ny thing
his older movies are very slapsticky. take the money and run, sleeper
they can be enjoyed on different levels.
ah
he's too sketchy in my book to watch them now
never thought he was very funny - but then I'm not a fan of slapstick either.
try Midnight in Paris ... with Owen Wilson .... a very nice romantic comedy ... almost not a Woody Allen film
3 to go. all 7s.
is woody allen in it?
... a very supporting role ... he direected and produced
I will have a look if it ever comes on TV -- I just don't get his sense of humour
for his older stuff it's all about his neurotic behavior. kind of like the george costanza character on seinfeld
... This is my favourite of the three movies he did in Europe (London, Paris, Rome) in the 2000s ... very different from his seventies stuff
done. thanks to the log and morewords...
I also like hannah and her sisters
... that one too ... it got Michael Caine his Oscar as I remember
down to 14 and just typing letters whether they make sense or not --- not a fun grid -- hagd everyone, stay safe :-)
I am a bit late to the conversation, I love Woody Allen movies, was a huge fan in the 70s. I love Midnight in Paris. I am a fan of the Lost Generation of writers and they figured prominently in it.
Annie Hall, Hannah and Her Sisters, Manhattan.....good films.....
Oohhh and Crimes and Misdemeanors!
this goddam game is getting more ridiculouser every day !!
Ridiculouser a perfect word for Babble
I liked those movies, too. Une
Happy New Year everyone
Well, so far I'm impressed with the air fryer. I did some ham and cheese crescent dough pockets for lunch and we just tried some frozen mozzarella sticks. Both turned out very well.
MOLLY, what kind of air fryer did you get. I am looking at getting one soon.
anyone have a recommendation for a brand of air fryer?
I got the Ninja 4 quart because it's just two of us. I recommend something larger if you are cooking for a larger family.
I am looking at the cuisinart small size because it is just me. Thanks for the input.
i would love to try one but i have no counter space.
i am considering a small rice cooker. it makes hot cereal and holds it. too.
I have no counter space either. I have to schlep these kinds of appl9ances out of storage when I want to use them.
Or appliances
I am considering getting one to save on turning on the oven to cook chicken for just me. I dont have a lot of counter space but could fit the one I am thinking of to stay permanently on the counter.
a moron designed this kitchen.
Would like to make bacon easily too and veggies as well. Would be nice not to heat up a big oven for just that.
i was buying rice frozen but the price has gone up so much... and cooking it from scratch is less wasteful.
Molly, did you use the recipe book for the things you have made so far?
i imagine if you have a family who all eat oatmeal it is very handy.
