Well, looking at the archives, it appears that probably only about a third of those who played yesterday finished it (for example).
(Based on the listed scores.)
Obviously, fewer people will complete the longest and toughest grids.
Well...I don't use the word lists, so I don't finish a bunch

Most people who do finish will rely on hints in the chat, Lickety's list and/or word-search sites.
And it's fair to say that some of the words are uncommon at best, and a few that turn up are downright questionable.
I usually finish the puzzle, but I rely on hints and Lickety's list. I've only ever finished it once without the list, and I still needed the hints.
