I read 74% of stations in my area are out of gas, ru. you are lucky. I filled up Sun. morning when I left VA. $3.32/gal that day. My car gets 33mpg and I never go anywhere.

just read the chat - have to say, I would love to pay $3.32/gal for gas -- gas here has been $5.25 per gallon for over a year and will likely go up for the May long weekend.

It doesn't really matter though -- with travel restricted to essential travel only I just go to medical appointments and the grocery store. I will be filling the tank this week for the first time in over a month.

It will be interesting to see if the inability of people to travel will have an effect on the number of new covid cases. The medical authorities here have narrowed infection increase down to travel between towns and areas of the province. They have been doing a lot of contact tracing to come up with this, so I assume there is some basis in fact.
Seem this is why I say things are not "free" in Canada. No you are not charged for health care, but you sure do pay for it in your gas and luxury taxes.

health care is federal - gas and sales taxes are mostly provincial, the gas tax supposedly supporting highway infrastructure.
quite happy to pay taxes to see that everyone is covered. Freedom to suffer, starve or perish from lack of care isn't very appealing. There are definite problems with our system but I wouldn't trade it for "freedom" brand health care in a million years.

Had a strange dream last night. There was a dog running around my balcony. I had to call the super to come get him. There were also a pile of Cheetos there.
Didn't have to wait too long for gas. But there was a line and the first station I stopped at was all out.
If you saw my balcony, you would see no one can climb up on it :)

just depends on the motivation. i once attempted to have both cats and parakeets at my house. i hung the parakeet cage higher than i had ever seen any of my cats jump, but with the increased motivation of live birds there, marty jumped that high and was holding onto the cage with his claws. that didn't do any real harm but it must have scared the birds tremendously
One of my cats has decided he is a aerialist now. Since I'm emptying shelves he has taken to leaping onto them. One he jumps from the top of the fridge from the top of the refrigerator which is about 4 feet away and in another room.
they are pretty amazing

The same cat also snuck out into the hallway last month and I didn't notice he was gone until someone came to my door 3 hours later and asked if I had a grey cat.

one of my first cats got out one time and i didn't notice immediately. she got out an exterior door, on the second floor, and down a staircase. when i went out on the landing and called her, she IMMEDIATELY came tearing around the corner of the house and up the stairs, like she knew she wasn't supposed to be outside! later in life she did not WANT to go outside. and in a place i lived with a balcony, when the weather started to turn nice, i put her out on the balcony and she just turned around and came back in. at that point she was like "NO. i am an INDOOR CAT."
Well, he hasn't been so eager to get back out in the hallway.
my rilla (in my picture) would not go out of any door unless she KNEW it was allowed. she is such a little angel.
She's so cute
at the vet one time the tech was about to open the door to the back area and looking to see where rilla was, in case she might dash out, and i was like oh you don't have to worry about HER
she is the most cutest most darlingest little wee thing
she was kidnapped by a bird of prey on her first or second day of life, wiggled free, fell, was seen by someone driving nearby, and brought to the animal shelter that happened to be on that very same road, where a vet tech took her home to bottle feed and foster until she was old enough to be adopted, so, she's a bit of a miracle kitten as well

the one i mentioned who escaped was Mitten. i had originally tried to name her Pepper, as she was a grey tabby, but she was my first one and i just kept saying "Mitten Kitten" all the time so that ended up being her name. i was afraid when i got a second cat, what if i called them all that?! but i didn't.
Tried to change my icon to a picture of the two but I can't see it.
so i had Mitten, and Cinder, who was a dark grey, and Marty. Marty was named after Marty McFly from back to the future because that was how his personality struck me.
