even the players with high ratings can win a round and lose rating points because they didn't score high as they should have.

It took Ruru over 2 hours to drive 45 miles today. Highway 80 in NorCal is insane.
Daughter and grand kids live in LA so we used to go down 3-5 times per year. Bean almost two years since we saw the little monsters....
I know this has been really hard on folks whose kids/grandkids are not local. Especially when you are in a different country.
I worked in El Segundo (south LA) for three weeks. Daughter came down to hotel to stay with me. I drove her to work every morning, about 10 miles. 2 Hours. THe drive back to my workplace took 9 minutes......

Life is too short for that. At my last job, it was taking me 1.5 hours to drive 18 miles. My more recent commute was 8 minutes (all surface roads for 3 miles).
So many fortunate people get to work from home now. No commute. Must be nice. Plus all the things you can do (appliance deliveries, etc) without having to take leave.
my niece just learned she will be working at home permanently. she's waiting for a two bedroom apartment to open up in her building so she has a permanent offive

i like spice but have a very low tolerance for heat. which is the mildest chili pepper?
spice seems to mean heat, whether or not that is an accurate use ot the word i do not know.
i mean, i do not like bland food either.
Don't know if it's true, but I read that the smaller the chilli, the greater the heat.
But if you remove the se4's and the pith, it removes a lot of the heat.
all peppers have heat, just a matter of degree. i just bought hungarian paprika and it is much different than the kind in the grovery.
Mildest chilli is called Bullhorn - I just googled that

Penfolds is really solid.. their top wine is Grange Hermitage.. they also have really nice lesser wines for every day.
I appreciate the recommendations. The Aussies I talk to seem to like the strong tannin much more than I do.
My hubby in particular likes that flavour.
the wines there can be more "Manly". for sure.. Try Noon Eclipse or Torbreck Juveniles or Oracle. I buy Oracle almost every year
I really thought my tastes had changed and I'd gone off red wine until we did a river cruise in France in 2018. Then I remembered how much I liked red wine.
I drink more white versus red.. but when i have a red it's a winner
I like white too - tend to buy NZ whites. They are generally pretty good.

I actually like it, if I can find the good small curd kind. Knudsen small curd used to be fantastic, but then the company sold and it's horrible now. And, it IS easy :D

i was skeptical but i like it. when no aplles i cheat and use pineapple or a smidge of pineapple preserve.
when i eat cereal it's like eating nothing. hungry within an hour or two.

yes, but a little goes a long way, i found, with preserve. sweet breakfast makes me crave sweets all day.
