i started watching Netflix's show "The Irregulars" last night. i was highly distressed to hear the following words in Victorian London: "boyfriend", "racist", "posh", "psycho", and "clone".
I sometimes wonder about writers. I catch this all the time. Language from the future being used in stories about the past.
I'm more horrified to read news articles where the write uses acronyms to make points

well it depends on the acronym and context. i'm sure it's sensible for articles to mention the CDC and the WHO and stuff. normally using the whole name first before switching, but if it's well known enough i wouldn't quibble too much with omitting that step.
