10:03 am

10:05 am

Not seen, Mool for a while, Carla. Do you know if he is okay?

10:07 am

he checked in one day a few days ago and said he was prioritizing other stuff first

10:08 am

Ah okay. Just me being nosy. As long as he is okay. Not seen Gapeach for a while either. Hope she is okay.

10:08 am

states for the D in the 4th column pls?

10:10 am

Di 6/24 & plural

10:12 am

A skirt with gathers at the waistline.

10:13 am

Sorry you asked just for stats. I got a little carried away.

10:13 am

good morning everyone. Just read the chat -- is there or there not an sl 5-6?

10:13 am

i need all the help i can get lol

10:14 am

Have not read the chat bit yes there is.

10:14 am

Sounds like a nordic word, nan.

10:15 am

we all wore those skirts in the 50's. I remember making one in home ec grade 7 --- right after the bibbed apron, which was our first project. The apron looked like something out of the 1800's

10:15 am

Short for not fast and two unlikely consonants.Uses the high point tile

10:17 am

it does indeed look nordic - ty

10:18 am

ty molly as well

10:18 am

yeah, i had to google that d6 word, never heard of it before, i guess we never got to that part of home ec

10:18 am

The dresses got popular after The Sound of Music

10:18 am

when did the sound of music come out?

10:19 am

1965

10:19 am

our aprons did like those with the cross over ties at the back

10:19 am

When I was one years old haha!

10:20 am

The play: 1959 the movie: 1965

10:20 am

we wore di 6 skirts in the 50's -- so they were popular before that

10:21 am

I'm not saying they were not around before then. Just that the costumes in The Sound of Music made them popular

10:21 am

1959- In that case I was not even a twinkling of the eye haha!

10:21 am

circle skirts with multi crinolines were popular in the late 50's but we were back to pencil skirts in the 60's or bell skirts

10:22 am

Pencil skirts? Are they like the pencil line drawn on the leg to make it look like you were wearing tights?

10:23 am

It cannot be of course but just wondered what a pencil skirt is.

10:23 am

no a slim tight skirt with a slit at the back rather than a pleat

10:23 am

Ah gotcha! Thanks.

10:24 am

Wow, Long Island sound is supposed to get 10 to 15 foot storm surge from Hurricane Henri

10:25 am

Makes me laugh how some people go round in ripped jeans and have paid silly prices for them. Why not jusy buy a pair and rip them yourself for half the price!

10:25 am

lol zppm -- my daughter is just 3 years younger than you :)

10:25 am

*zoom

10:26 am

Not nice, Molly. Hope they will be okay.

10:26 am

Ah but she is still your little lady, Nan!

10:27 am

That part of New York is not equipped to deal with such things. This could cause damage like Tropical Storm Sandy did

10:27 am

mekes one glad not to live on the shore

10:28 am

Aw toodle not allowed.

10:29 am

Every time I see aerial photos of New York City I think that much rebar and cement was not meant to be erected on such a small piece of land

10:29 am

Isn't there a fault line running through NY?

10:30 am

Yep

10:30 am

Yikes!

10:31 am

tori

10:31 am

poo I am very sorry everyone.

10:32 am

There are several and New York City was NOT built with earthquakes in mind. If one happened, it could be catastrophic. I would never live there for that and a lot of other reasons.

10:33 am

wish you'd "clued" my missing l from the top instead :)

10:34 am

Reading about it gave me the eebie-geebies

10:34 am

I have all from the top. nothing unusual.

10:34 am

I bet

10:34 am

I bet, Molly. Does kot bear thinking about.

10:35 am

I just cannot type today.

10:36 am

have 2 le 5's and the rest are all 4's -- is there another 5 or a 6?

10:36 am

nm - forgot to plural one of the 4's

10:37 am

Easily done, Nan.

10:38 am

I keep thinking endri or endris is a word.

10:40 am

ntpn - messiah composer

10:40 am

That would get you into the PB

10:40 am

handel

10:41 am

gold star for hurshy

10:41 am

oh yes it is the other way round. silly me.

10:42 am

I am feeling rather chirpy and strange today. Something must be wrong.

10:43 am

I don't know zoom -- is there a full moon tonight?

10:43 am

Haha! Probably, Nan!

10:45 am

i don't see how there can be four more from the top S

10:46 am

just missing one from there now

10:46 am

Okay here is a strange one for you. Does anyone ever count in their head numbers of something then sortof get stuck at a number like a stutter for a while before being able to continue. Mine for some reason is number 7. So in my head I would count say plates laid out on the table and i would do 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.7.7.7.7 then continue to 8 onwards.

10:47 am

hmm, perhaps you are getting caught in some sort of a time-space vortex

10:47 am

missing a lot of t's though

10:47 am

Oh I am missing 4 fromthe top too!

10:47 am

do you live near cardiff?

10:48 am

Hi Nan! yes there is a full moon tonight. A blue moon.

10:48 am

LOL Isle of Shite..oops Wight.

10:48 am

oh neat

10:49 am

I am missing 9 Ts at the moment.

10:49 am

i haven't tried T yet

10:49 am

I asked zoom that because when the kids went a little nutty in the classroom it was often when there was a full moon - strange

10:50 am

all the full moons are being given names -- wolf moon, harvest moon, etc. The blue moon tonight is a different blue moon than I am used too (two in one month)

10:50 am

I think there is a blood moon to.

10:52 am

T not bad, i see all but 2 on first go

10:52 am

wasn't it couple of years ago that we had a full moon that was a blood wolf moon that was also the closest to the earth for the year all in one - oh and it was the first full moon of the year too maybe?

10:52 am

Says, Hurshy all smug haha!

10:53 am

the S will keep me humble

10:54 am

Hi zooz, I just looked up full moon names - wow! Here's some: Green Corn Moon, Grain moon, Old Moon, Ice Moon, Full Sprouting Grass Moon, Egg Moon, Full Fish Moon....and the list goes on

10:55 am

yes nan you are right about that bllod wolf moon, made a special effort to see it

10:55 am

the native americans had names for each one, and probably different tribes had different names, so if they're drawing on those, there would be a lot

10:55 am

Full sprouting grass moon. wow.

10:56 am

that was my fave

10:56 am

S words are not too bad, Hurshy.

10:57 am

*crying*

10:57 am

did you get the se 6 that means hardly ever?

10:57 am

yes

10:57 am

ty saanich - that was my missing s

10:58 am

I se6 miss that word, Saanichat lol

10:58 am

great!

10:58 am

top row black

10:58 am

How about lots of beach grain sa7

10:58 am

10:59 am

11:00 am

11:00 am

11:01 am

11:04 am

I still need an A from the bottom left corner.

11:05 am

11:05 am

11:12 am

Enjoy!

11:14 am

Ah found my last E I was very close to PB in the chat earlier then.

11:14 am

11:15 am

even with that am7 i still need two more corner A!

11:15 am

aha, found 'em

11:15 am

11:15 am

was it the creature that creates dirt mounds?

11:16 am

yeah

11:17 am

You babblers are so much quicker than me.

11:17 am

sometimes

11:17 am

other times one sits for ages trying to see "once"

11:18 am

i love the wind, i hope it does not knock out our power though!

11:18 am

I like the wind too but ot that strong.

11:18 am

11:20 am

Zoom, I think you would look fetching in a di6 skirt : D

11:20 am

11:21 am

11:21 am

Oh please! You have not seen my legs!

11:21 am

hi hokie

11:21 am

I also have 10 left.

11:21 am

Hurricane force winds are very likely to knock power out. Also not the "enjoyable" kind of wind

11:22 am

well, enjoyability is in the heart of the beholder

11:22 am

Legs? That is what lederhosen is for : D

11:22 am

last two words, M5 and S5

11:22 am

what do you have, zooz? LL S E E TT DD M here

11:23 am

aha, a plural M

11:23 am

hurricane: a blizzard of water.

11:23 am

Well hey Hursh, if you enjoy wind strong enough to cause destruction, get a front row seat

11:23 am

S,TTTTTTT,R

11:23 am

wow :D

11:24 am

it's like how spock can be fascinated and appalled by something at the same time

11:24 am

SPLLLLTTTT

11:24 am

i mean i don't understand how people can enjoy horror movies, myself, but lots of people do

11:24 am

at least you used letters in the grid this time, molly

11:25 am

The J was very easy to monkey, that was nice.

11:25 am

done!!!

11:25 am

Congrat!

11:25 am

agreed, seain

11:25 am

With Hurshy it is always six degrees to Star Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings or Little House On The Prairie

11:25 am

I know, seain - I thought the same!

11:26 am

well done, hurshy!

11:28 am

don't forget Doctor Who, Anne of Green Gables, Oz...

11:30 am

Hi all. The ewok planet is here.

11:30 am

11:30 am

endor

11:31 am

well that forest mo4 comes up a LOT in grids

11:31 am

it's hard to miss

11:31 am

actually I don't think I've ever noticed a Star Wars word before...it's usually the Harry Potter words I see.

11:31 am

we have sith all the time

11:32 am

My daughter fell in love with Luke Skywalker when she was 3, and I really burned out on those movies.

11:32 am

I never saw them until my kids watched in the 2000s

11:32 am

but sith COUNTS

11:32 am

Fireworks! Happy babbling everyone!

11:32 am

11:34 am

11:34 am

i once lived on Millennium Ln just past Decade Ct.

11:35 am

12:14 pm

What? Everyone here is not familiar with a system of manual training based on experience gained in woodworking, originally developed in Sweden?

12:15 pm

LOL

12:30 pm

mo 6/21 please?

12:33 pm

or en 6/21 please?

12:39 pm

12:41 pm

i'm here, looking for both...

12:42 pm

I'm here too and also don't have either one

12:45 pm

40 words to go and I've hit a wall. Time to list.

12:45 pm

mo6.21 additional small particles?

12:45 pm

ty seain

12:46 pm

endrot - when you get too much rain ant the tips of the carrots turn to mush

12:47 pm

en6.21 sounds rather like a drug and goes to the upper left.

12:47 pm

yes, endrot is a thing.

12:47 pm

not according to enable

12:48 pm

so i noticed :)

12:48 pm

about the only combo I didn't try for that en - ty

12:49 pm

*!*~*!* hagd everyone :)

12:49 pm

yay, nan! hagd :)

12:56 pm

endrot happens to tomatoes that don't get enough calcium :)

1:00 pm

apparently not one word, though

1:01 pm

should be, we all say it as one. It ought at least be end-rot.

1:09 pm

FW for me finally. Anyone need clues?

1:10 pm

yay, joy!

1:11 pm

so many phantoms, I need to come back later. HAGD, all

2:52 pm

Clue for di7 please?

3:01 pm

di6/7 have far too many consonants.

3:03 pm

Aahh skirts! Thanks!

hmm, not getting the mo6 clue. is this a plural without a singular? not a plural at all and that's where I'm going wrong?

nm

3:53 pm

It isn't a plural. Not sure why it was clued that way

4:10 pm

Mo6 they pose on the runway

4:11 pm

That's mo6/24

4:13 pm

Mo6/21 ends in a charged particle

4:17 pm

Earlier, mo6/21 was clued as mo6.21 additional small particles? which leads one to believe it is a plural

4:31 pm

en 6/24, pls

4:43 pm

sorry, 6/21

4:44 pm

Ends in the opposite of out, bich.

4:45 pm

tyvm origami

4:48 pm

You're welcome.

4:55 pm

5:16 pm

5:38 pm

golly, who would use that word everyday?

5:39 pm

if I had a little Italian male pet, I would :)

5:41 pm

good point

5:47 pm

27 left, listing, how about you, Trif?

6:30 pm

henri's in the grid: topical storm that's tossed us around all day

6:31 pm

hello again - sorry, got distracted

6:33 pm

mab, was it bad where you are? Some of the photos are horrendous

6:35 pm

i'm western new england, lots of wind only. hurshy and all coastal people are in terrible peril.

6:36 pm

I just drove from binghamton to boston - it was not a big deal. the coastal effects are really what's bad.

6:38 pm

I saw a highway picture with a road sign that said HURRICANE WARNING IN EFFECT. Of course, people were still on the road.

6:39 pm

hope hurshy is OK, haven't seen much of her today

6:39 pm

She was here earlier

how is trif faring?

6:42 pm

I just looked at the radar map. No terrible peril in Connecticut.

6:54 pm

We are doing okay. TONS of rain, and we lost the top of big tree, and its unfortuately hanging like the sword of damocles over the goat shed, so will have to be addressed.

6:54 pm

the fish in my garden pond are loving the fresh water

6:55 pm

OK first pass, and 35 to go. are these J words normal?

6:56 pm

hello harry. not too strange, no

6:56 pm

hey trif when do you start?

6:56 pm

the river near us was flooded -- at low tide. it was RIDICULOUS at high tide

6:56 pm

I don't, sadly, nothing on my slate as yet for the fall.

6:57 pm

I got RIFfed

6:57 pm

OH I'm sorry trif

6:57 pm

its okay. I had an interview on Thursday, and im so relieved I didnt get it. I feel sorry for whoever did. GULAG

6:58 pm

we got rejected by alot of interviewees in the spring.

6:58 pm

I am not worried yet. Tons of resumes out, I will end up where I am supposed to be.

6:58 pm

wow, that is nuts!

6:58 pm

when do you start?

6:58 pm

yeah - I think we have no elem science teacher.

6:59 pm

Archie's is hiring, I would love to work there!

6:59 pm

it will be taught by the classroom teacher.

6:59 pm

7:02 pm

i am sorry to have to ask - my brain fog this week is WICKED

7:02 pm

I've never been licensed.

7:03 pm

oh okay. Again, I am sorry. SUCH brain fog

7:03 pm

having a license hasn't done me much good

7:03 pm

yeah - I tried when we were in CT, but they wanted me to go back and take so many ed courses. crazy.

7:04 pm

neither has having a masters, professionally. DId a world of good for my self esteem though....

7:05 pm

I'm listing this at 29. no patience today.

7:05 pm

the number of listings on school spring every day is NUTS. there are a ton of new listings even today - a sunday!

7:05 pm

school spring? openings for teachers?

7:05 pm

Harry, I was similar. I thought I'd get licensed when we moved to MA, but I would have had to start from scratch and after having run my own classroom for 5 years, I wasn't going back to beginners student teaching. So I stayed in private school.

7:06 pm

I think they lose many excellent teachers by their requirements.

7:07 pm

yes, listings for teachers

7:11 pm

But I'm really glad not to be teaching during covid. Wishing so much luck and encouragement and best wishes to all of you having to deal with this!

7:11 pm

my school is posted there.

7:11 pm

including a position which has already been filled.

7:13 pm

Anyway, fireworks for me, so I'll disappear again.
