i said when katrina hit that they should not rebuild new orleans and instead move to higher ground. there are things that man cannot control and hurricaines are one of them.
so sad. but to live so close to the shore is not a good idea in that area which is hurricaine heaven..........
the problem is less New Orleans and more what has been done to the coastline of LA (and everywhere in the US, unfortunately). Marshes are protective and you need to let silt build up on the shore from rivers. But we damn the rivers and channel them them and we dredge them and we build right up to the ocean and it is not sustainable

marshes are our buffer zone. Rising sea levels would not be as much of a problem if we let marshes do what the are supposed to do

in ocean city md, they built marshes and wetlands in front of all the buildings. people were upset initially but it worked in keeping things good.......so now instead of walking 50 ft to the beach you walk 200 feet. no big deal but ecologically good.

no, it's not the water. i have two kettles. the one with the broken lid, the tea comes out fine, but when i pour it, the lid falls off. the one with the non-broken lid makes the water taste funny.
i'm getting a new kettle, but was hoping to fix the taste issue on that one anyway
