He’s slipping; the past 1 1/2 year has been tough. The switch from independant living in our own home to assisted living in an apartment during a pandemic hasn’t been easy; but it’s been good for him too.

I can imagine. I've done a lot of healthcare architecture and aging in place design, so I've worked with a lot of 60+ folks
If we can ever get out of this pandemic, I think it would really be nice living here. (It’s okay now, but it would be nice to have someone come over for coffee or tea someday

Yes, I'm sure that they are very careful because of the problems with nursing homes early in the pandemic. And how susceptible many older people can be to serious, life-threatening infection :(
Yeah. They are following the MN Dept. of Health rules to the letter; I’m glad of that, but I just miss having a friend or 2 over to drink coffee or tea& have a nice long gab session.

Yes, smores, they do. But until we got both doses of the vaccinations, we couldn’t go there or even eat in the dining room. Now that everyone is vaccinated, we can do that.
A friend of mine lives in a 50+ complex and they just reopened the community room for vaccinated tenants
They have the tables set up further apart and removed 1/2 the seating.
Yeah, they are still masking & social distancing here too.

Unfortunately many are not.
There’s somewhere arount 130-150 residents here, we haven’t had any deaths, & the outbreak in the Memory Care unit was quickly contained; so that’s the dood news,
