It's something Trump once tweeted by accident
It exists despite the constant negative press
looked it up, but still no definition other than some kind of demon -- which certainly describes Trump to my mind

Morning, Matty!
Of course it is - and good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!
(dammit, also missing the top E - I wonder if it's as obvious as the others!)

A babblet I should have seen. I must be tired today - thanks!
Sarah (my daughter) has had the 'pre-approval' for her permanent residency in Australia approved - apparently the full approval is around two weeks away. Plans are afoot to visit in April!
That is great. And congratulations on grand baby number 2.

So exciting, Matty!
Thank you!
hello all
Good morning!
Happy Thanksgiving!
You, as well
Happy Thanksgiving to the US peeps.

Happy Thanksgiving to the American feasters.

Good morning.

morning all! happy turkey day to US friends
Hi aslindy and dan. I am cooking the meal for my mother and brother. Bird went in the oven at 0755. I slept later than I expected.
we ordered thanksgiving from a restaurant - just have to take it out of the fridge around 3 and start heating things up around 5. I have to wake the house for the parade soon
Bichon, good band!
Haha.
we aren't having our big meal until 6 PM. just the 3 of us - me, hubby, our youngest daughter who lives with us. she works as a pie baker and the past week is the busiest of the year. Mon - Wed she worked 38 hours. so she is sleeping in today.
hubby was going to smoke the turkey today but it's mid-40s and rainy so it's going in the oven instead.
MPitt is waking up before she go-goes

Happy Thanksgiving
Hi welki!
there's an olympic skier in the grid today
hi, scrabs!
I am talking with mom so she is reviewing the news and obituaries.
her morning routine :)
that'
that's a bit creepy reading obituaries
That is her daily routine. She wishes there were a website called causeofdeath.com
better now than later, in front of the kids
my ex has a penchant for reading obits too.. I always thought it was weird ... especially if you don't know the people in the column
There's a website here called rip.ie, and it lists all the deaths which occur. You can sign up for email notifications for a particular name/location etc. They don't give the cause of death, though! On that cheery note, I wish you Americans a very happy Thanksgiving.
Ruru, my mother, even at 90, remains an idealist so cannot understand why kids and younger folks die.
Hi Soodle
morning friends! i am thankful for BABBLE!
kids mostly die in accidents or being stupid and doing dangerous things...no?
Hi Scrabbs :-)
Yes, accidents/drownings.
Hi Hurshy. Me too.
I hate reading about kids being killed out here.. one was shot on the freeway for no reason
it's disturbing how increasingly violent our country has gotten. or maybe i'm reading the news too much
hmm, my attempt to cheer things up does not seem to have worked
it was always violent though
I wish I wasn't addicted to babble myself hursh (nice try though)
TY, Hurshy. This is our daily addiction.
deaths by violence in the world over time have actually trended downward, IIRC
IIRC?
if i recall correctly
i kind of doubt that hursh
no look, here's the book review from scientific american about it: https://tinyurl.com/exku3fz9
Clues for the O and the bottom E?
and here's a slide show about it: https://tinyurl.com/nek4v45y

o is an egg
ef6/36 feminine

ef 6 lazy
TY for the O word. Working on ef6.
Got it. TY.
gotta love how the patriarchy had equated femininity with lack of energy... lol
our moms are about the same age scrabs.. mine is 93
ef6 isn't feminine is it? I thought it meant degenerate types
My mom is funny.
my mom is NOT funny
yeah, i guess it's just mixed up with effeminate, doesn't actually mean that
my mom is only funny by accident
I have to check on the turkey. And check on my escaped rabbit.
:O
name that proper noun! famous captive orca
I forgot to put the gate up last night so one escaped. The sister is timid and never leaves the room.
oh oh but did not escape OUTSIDE the HOUSE, phew

i hate when i can't see any more A words and i start just sticking "a" on the front of any old other word in case it works
That 1st column, 4th row A is challenging me.
yeah, i have found some strange ones and feel proud, but i still need 2 more

Thanks for the help on that A.
group of Jewish writings?
nm I remembered it
Hi everybody and Happy Thanksgiving if you're in the U.S., or even if you aren't.
What? You mean other countries don't spend a week getting ready for one meal? Hard to believe. : D
...one meal that will be consumed in 15 minutes. It's nuts but I do it every year. I've been cooking since Sunday.
One of my sons manages a restaurant and they are open today (shame on them) so I am getting ready to go deliver him his Thanksgiving goodies.
I guess restaurants can make a lot of money opening on holidays, but I also wish all businesses would close down and let their employees just be with their families.
We went there for Thanksgiving last year but I am not throwing them my money on holidays anymore.
good morning all. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone south of the border :)
hi nan

we just finished. it was really good. a highlight for me was a brussels sprouts dish with grapes & yogurt & fig jam and walnuts that we would never have tried if we were cooking "trad"
also really good roasted sweet potatoes, plus gravy and all the regular stuff. it took about an hour from unboxing to eating - the turkey was already sliced and boneless
the restaurant is called ilili, in the flatiron district in Manhattan. don't ask me to pronounce it though :-)
Viciting NYC, dan?
I looked up the restaurant. there is one in dc too. Lebanese food.
no we had our thanksgiving delivered from NYC
Googled it....looks delish!!

Well done mkg. Hi all. Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends. I expec you're all full, sated and a little bit drunk now. Hope you all had a good day.
*expect. (Bloody keyboard is sticking again. I'll ask for a few new ones for Christmas. I get through a lot of keyboards!)
Was very sad to hear Torgone (Tom Judkins) died last Monday. I had no idea he was ill.
What sad news Jacula
I wished him Happy Birthday on FB on 8th of this month and was only talking to him on here and on there about a week ago.
Yes....such a shock.....very very sad to hear :-(
It was a shock, Une, yes.
wht - I suppose it's inevitable when you play a game for around 18 years, that you lose fellow players along the way. Doesn't make it any less sad though.
Does anyone need any clues for the current grid? I'm awake because the neighbour opposite has decided to leave her multi-coloured, rapidly flashing Christmas lights, which directly face my bedroom window, on all night.
I do have blackout curtains but the flashing lights still flash through the cracks.
Indeed, it is inevitable. All i know of most players it the little bit I can see through this tiny chat window. Torgone always seemed to me to be helpful to other players and a person of good humor. I always was glad to see him show up in the chat.
I could use a clue for the sa6,30
wht - sa6.30 sounds like what Santa carries his toys in, but uses a 5-point tile with the usual vowel after it, plus another vowel. Hope that wasn't too specific!
ty jac. It worked for me and that is fireworks.
y/w what and well done!
sa6.30 is actually the Spanish word for booty taken from enemies in wartime.
Anyone else need any clues, since I'm here?
Good night all. Happy Babbling.
Goodnight wht. Sleep well.
I think I'll got back to bed and start reading my new book if no one else needs any clues.
Speak now or forever hold your peace. lol
